Quality has gone down bad. I think they used rotten mango or old dairy in drinks. My wife and I were regular, not anymore from today. I ordered my go-to drink, king of mango. I tried a sip, and it tasted too bitter, so I stopped drinking it. My wife tried it, she almost threw up. So we talked to the front lady, but she handled it very rudely and unpretessionally telling me that I was wrong, and the bitter taste was from "pomelo." I asked her if she meant grapefruit, and she kept saying pomelo, which means she has no idea what ingredients she uses. Long story short, I told her not to worry about it, and I came home and threw it away. I think mango was rotten, or the milk was gone bad if they used milk or dairy. They just lost two loyal customers. No wonder this place has not many customers anymore. The quality has gone down. I wish I knew her name so I can mention it here so the manager can talk to her. It doesn't matter for us anymore, but other customers should know about this too. I really feel like throwing up now. Please take caution. read more

honestly i always pass by this place but it was the only thing open on christmas day, and it was delicious. the mango drinks are really a standout, delicious and yummy and made with real mangos. their tea drinks taste like truly brewed teas. so yummy, i love the taste. they are pretty quick with it, you order with the kiosk but honestly there are terms i did not know like QQ so i had to look around to figure it out! but otherwise great place and my new go to boba place read more

Out of all the better boba options in this plaza alone, I would highly avoid this shop. If it weren't for my mango-loving mother who wanted to try the famous Mango King drink here (which was sickeningly sweet, subpar by the way), I would have gone to Soyful just next door. After waiting over 20 minutes post-ordering with one of the clerks, I noticed the numbers being called already passed mine. I went to the restroom while my mother sat at one of the many vacant tables to wait for our two drinks. Families that came in after my mother and I already walked out with their orders, and when my mother questioned the clerk, a male associate (who appeared to be the manager perhaps) SNATCHED the receipt out of my mother's hand, took a picture of it, and had the audacity to make us wait an additional fifteen minutes while he went to go check the security footage, meanwhile making snarky comments in Vietnamese thinking we didn't understand him. How unprofessional and insulting to a paying customer. We ended up throwing the drinks away, God knows what concoction was spiked into the cups that we paid for that would potentially poison us from this hostile customer service. The female clerk apologized for the inconvenience while the male associate glared at us from the kitchen. From the way this male staff openly abuses his customers, who knows what maltreatment goes on behind the scenes at this establishment. He made my mother cry, treating us like thieves when we had the printed receipt in our hand. Just for nearly $15 drinks, heck I could have ordered one of the whole menu if I wanted to. Final verdict: Bathroom was clean, but service here makes you feel like a criminal. Drinks were unconsumable and worth raising suspicion. If anything, we should have called the police from how violent that male staff was. Do NOT support this hostile location. read more

My favorite mango smoothie place but what's the deal with the kiosk. The girl was busy so I decided to use the kiosk and they were charging service fee. I understand if doing it online but at the store? On top of that, today the kiosk screwed up and it took over 20 mins to get my order! The girl was apologetic but still took too long for a drink. Would have been 3 stars if the drink wasn't good and hopefully this is only one time read more

This was my first time here, and the first thing I noticed was that it was very clean. I love the simplistic interior design, it gives off a good vibe of not trying too hard while being very inviting. For the drink, I had read a lot of reviews referencing the king of mango smoothie so I knew I wanted to try it. The mango is so fresh and refreshing in the smoothie, it wasn't sour at all like I expected it to be. The jelly adds a nice texture, and it wasn't a strong flavor that it was overwhelming. It just added a nice crisp touch to it, along with the grapefruit. My boyfriend really likes smoothies, so we had high hopes for this place. And he ended up really liking it. I personally like that the smoothie was pretty thick while maintaining the original mango flavor, there wasn't too much ice used. Lastly, the service was also good as the lady was very kind to accept our order 4 minutes before closing time. read more

Hands down amazing tea - it has a rich tea flavor in all their milk teas. I love love love it! I have not tried any drinks other than the tieguanyin oolong milk tea because it is my favorite. The staff at the front will occasionally offer you free samples to try. Definitely check out Macu Tea! The only downside is that parking in that plaza can be difficult to find. read more

Not bad at all. Drinks were pretty good. A bit too milky and not enough tea in my opinion. Boba cooked nicely. Very modern design inside. Wait times could get pretty long if its busy inside. Overall id give it anyother try. read more

Had their signature "king of mango smoothie"- you cannot adjust ice/sugar, it tastes like sugar water, I am not too sure if they even put mangoes in it. Also got their 3rd bestseller "black tea latte with boba", it tastes like water.... I don't think this store will last a year. read more

Macu Tea - King of Mango, Chi chi Mango, taro milk, and chocolate tiramisu. - Bubble Tea Near Me - San Jose, California

Their King of Mango Smoothie is so good and refreshing!! It couls pass as an alternative to Hui Lau Shan if you don't wanna stand in an hour wait for some mango desserts! read more

The drinks were delicious. I got the tiramisu chocolate and my friend got the chi chi mango smoothie, which we both enjoyed. I grabbed a yakult with passionfruit drink for my husband and it tasted good (a sweet sourness) better than the yakult drinks at other shops where it curdles quickly after the drink is made. The drinks are good, but my huge complaint about this shop is how ridiculously loud the blender in the back kitchen is so there's no ambiance at all. My friends and I could barely hear each other when we were sitting across a table. I'd love for management to do something about the noise because the tables here are actually great for hanging out. read more

This tea place is good! I always order from their Li-Li series and it's so refreshing but make sure to lessen the sweetness (it's a bit too sweet for me) but depends on your preference. Fast service and you can dine in since there ate tables inside, 4 tables I think or maybe more. Big parking space too! read more

Best Boba Ever! I ordered Mango & Orange Li Li (50% sweetness) and the flavor and everything about it was soooo yummy. We said "mmm, mmm" after every sip. The mango bits was so smooth and yummy. The hint of orange flavor was just perfect too. I initially thought the price was a bit on the high side but totally worth it! Can't wait to get this boba again before the summer is over. Boba had the perfect chewiness too. read more

Another new boba shop in the plaza filled with boba shops. We heard good things about Macu from our friend who is from Taiwan, so we decided to give it a try. The interior is like any other boba shop you can think of with nice bright lights, tables with lots of seating, and TVs for the menu. Ordering took some time and so did getting our drinks, but it was definitely worth it. I got the King of mango which is a mango smoothie with some grapefruit, coconut milk, and tea jelly. Absolutely delicious and refreshing. My fiance got the chi-chi mango which has salted cheese foam on top and he liked having the savory to sweet contrast with his drink - it was not for me. I have yet to try their milk tea, but can vouch that their fruity drinks are a hit! read more

I don't know why this place isn't getting the attention it needs, but their drinks are SOLID. Grapefruit Honey Li-Li Tea: Super refreshing grapefruit with a hit of sweetness from the honey 4.5/5 Mango & Orange Li-Li Tea: The sweetness of the drink comes from the fresh mango bits you get, not from the syrup. I really love this drink and gets it every time I come here 5/5 read more

I am in love with this place! It has quickly become a new favorite. The store itself is incredibly clean and well decorated. I love that the menu is more on the concise side in comparison to other boba spots. All the workers are very friendly and I've never had issues with service here. The drinks themselves are delicious. I have to actively stop myself from finishing the entire thing in one sip. I love the chi chi strawberry and the seasonal king of mango drink. Other reviews noted that the mango is too sweet but in my opinion it is perfectly balanced especially with the coconut milk and grapefruit. I can't sing enough praises about how fresh the drinks are. You can TASTE the fruit and feel its texture. The price is higher than most tea spots but the taste is completely justifiable. If I had to complain about anything it would be about the plaza and not Macu Tea itself. The plaza is hectic, parking is tight, and it's a busy area during weekends. read more

Delicious house milk tea, it's now our go-to weekend tea. They're quick too, so that's a plus!

So good!!!!! One of my top boba spots for fruit teas. It does run quite sweet so next time would get 0% sugar passion fruit tea.

I LOVE this new tea shop in this plaza! There's plenty of other options of tea to choose from, but you definitely must give this new spot a try!!! Customer service was welcoming and it's a very spacious, clean, modern aesthetic shop! The bathroom is HUGE! and nicely decorated. I tried the Sunshine Li-Li Tea (passion fruit and orange) and my god! it was soooo good and refreshing!!! bursting with NATURAL, FRESH FRUIT flavors! I asked for less sweet since I read in a review mentioning that her drink was really sweet even after she customized for much less sweetness. It was still pretty sweet but it wasn't an overpowering sweet, I really enjoyed this refreshing tea drink! I came back here 2 weeks later and my daughter order the King Mango Smoothie with Salted Cream Foam added and it was sooo good! There was a few sips she didn't enjoy that much due to the extra bitter taste of the grapefruit, but she and I still very much enjoyed this refreshing smoothie! I don't think there was any mango bits/pieces, which I was expecting, so that was a lowkey bummer but I'll still be enjoying (more) drinks from here! :) read more

I tried this place with my best friend and my boyfriend so we got 3 different drinks. We ended up getting a Jasmine Green Tea, the Yakult Green Tea and the Sunshine Li-Li Tea. All 3 of the drinks were super yummy and you can really the tell the Li-Li drinks use real fruit in them and not just syrups or frozen fruit! A lady that was working there (I think she is the owner or manager?) was coming around those that were sitting in the store and making sure we all enjoyed our drinks. She even said that if there was anything wrong with our drinks, she would remake it or make us a different drink. She was super sweet and I felt that she genuinely cared about her customers. I ended up thinking my Jasmine Green Tea was too sweet (obviously not their fault because it's my own personal preference) and so I asked if they could just add some more tea to it to make it less sweet. The same lady came out to tell me had just dumped the jasmine tea because they were closing but she offered to make me a different drink with their Golden Leaf Tea. She was super kind about it and I ended up really liking the Golden Leaf Tea as well. Super nice customer service and a very modern and bright atmosphere to hang out in. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a new boba shop in SJ! read more
