The only other time I'd been to a Mac's was for a Yelp event at the one in Clifton, so this was my first legitimate dining experience. The BF and I went for lunch on a weekday, so it was not crowded at all (in fact, I wasn't even sure it was open at first.) However, the service and food were all great. The pizza was very good! It was so good, I keep thinking about going back, because I know there's another location closer to home. I think there are two sides to this place, but we were on a small bar side with a pool table. What I really think is great about this place is that not only do they offer quite a few vegetarian pizza options, they even offer VEGAN pizza offerings. It's so hard to find places that offer anything vegetarian, let alone vegan! Kudos to Mac's for doing so. read more

I hate that I have to leave this review. Because honestly I love their food. However, their completely ridiculous service and attitude is unbelievable. I waited an HOUR for my pickup, a simple personalized pizza. Then after I had been asked my name for the eighth time, they realized they never made my order. I had been there standing in the store while other patrons were sat and served food and they hadn't even started mine. Then they had zero empathy or remorse, and were honestly completely unapologetic. I asked for a manager who never came. My food arrived cold and tasteless. I've now been to all Mac's locations and I think the newest edition is my favorite. The food, like at the others, is good and service is fine. I think that the Wooster Pike location may have the best beer selection, but the beer menu at Mainstrasse is still good. That, partnered with its great space are why I think it's the best. I went on a Wednesday for Trivia Night and got pizza, which is fine. It's not my favorite around. I do, however, really like the wings, and one day will man up and try the Macover (a deep fried calzone). I hosted a surprise birthday party at Mac's in their upstairs party room area, and it was a perfect spot for the party. Mandy was super easy to work with and very accommodating. We had about 70 people and the space was more than enough for us to be comfortable. Everyone loved the food, and our bartenders were friendly and attentive. The pizza is good!! Stopped by in the afternoon on Labor Day and I think they only had 2 people working the bar and waiting on all the tables (out front, inside, and out back), so service was slow. Our server was super nice and friendly though, our food and drinks came out quickly, and she was attentive with refilling waters. We had mozz sticks, waffle fries, and 2 pizzas. Our server described their pizza crust as "the perfect thickness" and she was right!! Not too thick, not too thin. The pizza dough was flavorful and they did not skimp on toppings. Macs used to be one of my favorite casual dining options. The last three times I've been there though the service has been really off. The second time I had to switch our order to go because we ran out of time waiting for the food. The third time was tonight and I waited fifteen minutes in the bar area without ever being greeted by wait staff. Finally the loud music from speakers five feet from the dining area drove me out the door without ever talking to the staff. But you're so hungry, you don't have time to order from somewhere, so you eat the disgusting food anyway. Thank the heavens Mac's Pizza Pub did not put me in that scenario. I ordered The Don speciality pizza. Absolutely amazing. The cheese, the crust, the sauce, the seasoning. Everything was perfect. I topped it off with an order of spicy Thai chili wings. I like my wings a little on the crispy side, but still, they were delicious. Come Super Bowl Sunday, I know where I'm ordering my pizza and wings. I love this place! The food is great and it is such a fun environment. I go at least once a week for trivia. All of the staff add to the atmosphere and are super laid back and easy to deal with. Donna is the best - she is always around to give our table a warm welcome when we come in and you can tell she truly appreciates every customer that walks in the door. We had our holiday party in "The Attic" room. The upstairs was so great!! Full bar, great buffet style set up, lots of room in the main area and several break off areas too. They even had a Christmas tree decorated on the small stage area that we used for our office ornament exchange. Loved that there was a pool table area, a juke box and restrooms. Everything you needed was upstairs. The staff was fantastic!! The GM, Chris, was really friendly and made reserving the space easy. Donna (the owner's mom) made sure we had everything we needed and got us off to a great start. The bartenders were friendly and fun!! We had maybe 50 people and it was very comfortable. Me and fifteen of my friends decided to go to Mac's for Happy Hour and pizza on Friday night. The service was horrible. We all ordered food at the same time and it came out ten minutes apart. The drink service was even worse. The bartender was on the phone looking up how to make drinks. The sever was not allowed behind the bar to get beer or drinks to speed up the process. Our sever had tables on the other side of the restaurant and was absent all the time when needed. We finally had enough and decided to leave and it took us thirty-five minutes to get our checks. Don't waste your time here if you want service. We really enjoy Mac's in Clifton and decided to give the place a chance, but it was a huge mistake. read more

Prosecco and the Packers, it doesn't get better than that! Macs is great - wonderful staff, good bar food, and always very friendly! This summer I jokingly told the owners mother, "if you guys only had prosecco we would come here every week!"...and voila! Prosecco she made happen! Actually less than one star. Went there today poor, poor service. Management needs to drug test its employees, our waitress was definitely on something. We waited forever for one beer to be served, then placed our order. Had to ask a manager to check on our food order after waiting 45 minutes. A bit later the drugged out waitress delivered it only for it to be cold and looking un-edible. We paid for the beer and left. There were four of us and we were very upset.
