Tried Street City for lunch this week and I'm sad to say I can't believe this place existed and I'm just now finding out about them! The ambiance is super cute and cozy, definitely a great place for a date night and the music brought some good vibes. I tried the salmon sandwich and Caesar salad and it was sooo good! The salmon was a little charred but I picked off those areas and devoured my meal lol! Our server was also amazing and super friendly with recommendations. This is one of those places that's average on the verge of great. Cozy seating in the bar room, we dined in early before a show across the street. Service was fine, and the cocktails were good. We had the burger roll and the house burger. The burger roll was good, but not as good as it seemed like it should be. The meat seemed overworked and overdone. The regular burger was better. It was also a little pricy- each plate was $15 and sides were a la carte. Not the worst, but certainly not a value spot. The burger patty is 5 oz according to the menu. I'd go again if it was convenient but probably would not make a point of going again. read more

More like 3.5 stars. Partaking in Cincinnati Restaurant Week, I chose Street City for their variety of menu options. I ordered Mushroom Soup, Short Rib Pasta and the Molten Chocolate Cake. Everything was just fine. Nothing really stood out, in neither a good nor bad way. Just middle of the road. They are definitely playing it safe with their menu options and flavors. The atmosphere is chic and the furnishings are mid-century mod-like. I love the style of the place. Good to note, they offer Happy Hour at the bar Monday- Friday from 4pm- 6pm. We came in for a quick drink while waiting for our reservation elsewhere but couldn't give up the opportunity for some chicken wings. We were impressed on the size, they were crispy, the casablanca dry rub felt like it needed a little more flavor but the wings were still pretty fantastic. The service was very fast! We ordered 2 local beers, a vodka and club soda, and the creole turnaround. We had an issue with the club soda being a little flat and the bartender immediately made a new one with bottled club soda instead of the gun to make sure it wasn't flat. I ordered the 580 Burger (no pickle) with "Sidewinder Fries" and thought it would be the typical - Burger and Fries meal. Thankfully, I was wrong. I arrived at Street City Pub and was pleasantly surprised. The interior was clean, complete with beautiful hardwood floors and wood furniture. The staff were very friendly and made sure I received my order. My 580 Burger was well done, pickle free, juicy and delicious. The Sidewinder Fries were large, crispy, twisted and flavorful. I was impressed and wanted to try the Fried Brussel Sprouts. The Fried Brussel Sprouts were crispy and tasty. The only thing which threw me off, was the sauce. I liked it, but it had a strong sweetness to it. I prefer my veggies on the savory side, and will try to order them without the sauce. There were a few quirks with the service and I can see how one could have only an average meal here, but Street City Pub has a couple of standout items on the menu from which you can build a unique and satisfying evening out. We stopped here for dinner with a 6 p.m. reservation before a show at the Aronoff and were in and out in about an hour--plenty of time to get checked in for the show, buy dessert (chocolate-covered pretzels) and stand around before the doors opened. You really can't beat the location and convenience for pre-theater dining. We arrived a little early and were seated a few minutes before our reservation. The server came over promptly to take our drink orders--waters and two Urban G&Ts. This is a gin and tonic with the addition of orange bitters, and it really works! The drink was strong too, which I loved. For dinner my husband ordered a Caesar salad and the burger roll. The Caesar came out quickly and was pretty classic. The burger roll, though, was an innovation. It came on a pretzel hoagie bun with caramelized onion, fried jalapenos, cheese curds and a spicy mayo. It does not look like any burger you've ever seen, but it is an absolute flavor bomb. He loved it! I opted for the short rib mac & cheese with a side of the apple slaw. The slaw strangely arrived in between the salad and the entrees so I sort of snacked on it while waiting--a tasty, crunchy side but it doesn't have a lot of apple in it. The mac & cheese was really great though, very cheesy and creamy and complemented by the tender, rich meat. OH, and the Cheez-Its on top! What's not to like? I wish there had been slightly more short rib, but it was plenty to fill me up. They have some interesting entree salads but the innovation there is not reflected in the sides options. I do wish there was a more interesting side salad apart from the Caesar. And I can see how you could order a fairly boring dinner here and not walk away thinking it was anything special. So my advice is seek the novelty--they do unusual things well and those tend to be the better items on the menu. Great choice for pre-theater dinner even if you don't stick to the pre-theater menu. read more

I wasn't a huge fan of the sidewinder fries, they were more like potato wedges. My margarita was tasty, too. Our server was super nice. Went in last night to see the Prime Speakeasy. Decor and music were cool. Service was terrible. Manager made us wait an hour to get in, once inside all tables were empty except one. Then we waited over 15 minutes for a server to take our drink order. After getting our drinks, we flagged down another server because ours never came back and asked for the bill. $58. Handed over a credit card and the slip came back for me to sign for $161. Walked into the bar (again no server) to get the obvious mistake fixed and went back to my table. 20 minutes later, still no server so went back into the bar. The bartender was too busy berating the server for the mistake so he didn't have time to fix it. He eventually voided it out and I paid cash and left. Very very very poor experience. read more

I am really torn when it comes to Street City Pub. For each item that was really good, another was not. I am settling at three stars, because I would eat the liked items again, but found the others to be a waste. The good. The beef shortrib mac and cheese reminded me a bit of the mac and cheese from Keystone's Mac Shack. Rich, creamy and traveled well. The beef shortribs were served ontop. I enjoyed being able to taste the meat on it's own, and then also try it mixed in. Cavatappi noodles held on to the sauce and meat. Bread pudding with vanilla ice cream had dimensions of flavor. The pudding was moist without being wet. The top was a dusting of cinnamon and sweet. Raisins could be found throughout. Sidewinder fries are one of my favorite types of fries. I enjoy how they are a cross between a potato wedge and a seasoned curly fry. These were soft on the inside with crisp tips. Ruben rolls where kind of in the middle. They were packed with meat. Outsides did not travel well. They were on the stale side. I would want to try these at the restaurant. Now for the bad. If a place calls itself a pub the fish & chips should be a shining star of their menu. Fish was terrible. It was overcooked. This resulted in a burnt taste of the outer batter, and dry fish inside. Tarter sauce is a pickle lovers paradise. Not being a fan of pickles, this was too strong for me. Irish cream cheesecake was the item I was looking forward to the most. Chocolate cooke crust was delicious. It held a bit of crunch, and was rich with chocolate flavor. The cheesecake itself was strange. Consistency throughout varied greatly. Some bites were waxy, while others were thick and pasty. The caramel sauce on top had a rich caramel flavor. Unfortunately the sauce was still gritty with unresolved sugar. If I was there, and restaurants were open, I would probably give Street City Pub another shot. read more

Nice place. Good atmosphere. Our waiter was nice. Not very crowded at all after 5pm. I had the Ruben the mrs had the Salmon entrée. Ruben was good. Hard to mess up. I also ordered the brussel sprouts. The sauce they dump on them was a little too much sweet and took away from the crispy of the brussel sprout. The salmon good, not much to complain about. Wow, what a burger! I ordered the Pete's burger roll with their sidewinder fries and I was pleasantly surprised. The burger is basically rolled up and put into a pretzel bun. I'm so glad I finally made it to Street City. My friend Kim has been telling me about it for a while now. I've been inside since COVID. This was my first outside seating attempt. The weather was nice and not many bugs. To the food. I had a margarita, it was delicious! It tasted like a freshly made lemon and lime base. For food we had the Cincy burger week roll. It was very good. I wasn't sure what to expect from the description. Finally we had the strip steak with caramelized onions and side winder fries. It was soooo good. Street City Pub has been in walking distance for years, but I'd never visited. My neighbors always talked about how good their food was and some of their deals. I went for lunch yesterday and was pleasantly surprised! We sat on the on the patio, which was perfect to continue on with social distancing. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. For our meals, we ordered the reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries and the cajun salmon salad. They were both excellent. The salad had the perfect amount of spice to it without being overwhelming. It was plenty to take home for another lunch as well. If you don't like slightly spicy sauce, you may want to have them put it on the side. My friend said their rebeun and fries were great too. If I could give a 0 or negative star I would. My friends and I popped into here before the Letter Kenny Live Show on 4-25-2022 at 5:12 pm. We had a few minutes to kill before doors opened and we wanted a couple of drinks. From the search the place looked perfect and right up our alley being a few blocks away from the venue. When we got there we grabbed the bar stools at the end of the bar, all still good. Then when we went to place our order, it wasn't so good. My partner has celiac disease and can not be exposed to gluten in any way. I explained this to the server/bar keep his name was Stephen W I am assuming from the name on my receipt. There was a language barrier there and I was asking some questions. Then two of my buddies ordered some beers. I was still looking for celiac friendly booze. The light haired skinny guy from the host booth came back and started helping the barkeep and was asking what the issue was. When we explained that my buddy had celiac. The light haired guy (blonde or silver) started getting an attitude. The guy with celiac disease asked if he could have a double shot of Capt Morgan and a side of Coke. The light haired skinny man said, "I don't know, what does your doctor say?" in a very sarcastic tone. It was such a mood killer. Then the one with celiac got served a double Capt with a dash not even a splash of coke in it. So pointless. Then I was served something I didn't even ask for. I tried to explain it either person behind the bar and they both walked off. I asked for our bill so that I could pay and get the heck out of there. They treated us like we were crazy for asking questions because they affect our friends well being. People with food and gluten issues need to be treated with respect as everyone else. I will never go into this place again. The non english speaking bar keep gets a pass due to communication barrier, but the little blond or silver haired guy put a huge damper on the whole experience. He should not be working with the public in any establishment if that is the way they treat customers. So rude. So sarcastic. I know this review won't help a bit, but someone needs to read this before going here. I would hate for the service here to ruin their nights as well. Good luck. read more

Wednesday evening before the show and the place was pretty empty. Friendly people and good service. Formerly O'Rielly's so the place might be in identity crisis mode. But the word "pub" in the new name saves it, right? I had the cod entree and my wife the cod sandwich. Delicious light fish with (I think) Fretboard beer batter crust. Tasty. Fretboard Improv was a great, bitter IPA. But when I thought I'd try a different Fretboard, was given terrible advice on the Fugee. I asked "it's not too sweet is it?" And was told "No, it's still a beer". So ... unless you like drinking maple syrup straight from the jug, avoid Fugee. It was undrinkable, to me. Not that this style has no place in the beer world. To each his/her own. My issue is the staff not knowing the beers in house. That said, the experience was very nice, the food and atmosphere was good, and we would return. I visited this location yesterday evening for Cincinnati burger week and tried The Unexpected Burger which features an angus beef smash patty, Maker's Mark Infused Tomato Jam, Candied Bacon, Rocket Arugula, Smoked Gouda, Onion Straws, Sriracha Aioli, Brioche Bun I was really excited to try this and had high expectations, particularly because i heard the establishment was owned by Prime Cincinnati next door which i have always enjoyed dining at. But this burger just missed. I can tell it was cooked well and prepared as described but the flavors just did not mesh the way they should and i think the tomato jam was a bit too salty which messed with the enjoyment of the burger. I also ordered their twist fries which were lovely and crispy but just a bit unseasoned. The group i dined with ordered a variety of appetizers which i sampled like their Rueben egg rolls, quesadilla, and cheese curds. The cheese curds were my favorite of the three and all of them tasted as was expected but nothing really made me feel like this establishment stood out. I also ordered a happy hour margarita that was ok. Nothing was overtly terrible but nothing was overtly great either. I do not plan on returning. read more

Almost 15 minutes later our drinks arrived, slow for an empty restaurant. We ordered off of the restaurant week menu: Reuben Roll - NY Strip - Fried Brussels - Chocolate lava cake. After waiting about an hour for our meal and the server apologizing multiple times for the wait, it arrived. The Reuben roll was delicious!! But that was the highlight of the meal. The steak was overcooked to a medium well (supposed to be med/rare) and the chocolate lava cake too. Basically was just a warm cake in a cup - no chocolate lava! Other had cheese curds-good and Scottish salmon - average and nothing to write home about. Overall a slightly below average meal for a place we heard such great things about. read more

This is a good place for weekday lunch. I've been twice. Most recently I got the $8 pick two lunch special. I can't think of many other places where you would get a good quality half salad with grilled chicken on it and a substantial serving of mac and cheese (with short rib!) for $8. Cheaper and much better than Panera. The food is warm and of good quality. The service is also good. My friend and I were in and out in 45 minutes. We will be back. read more

Great place hidden away if you didn't know it was there. Fantastic place for a great lunch. Food is all scratch made with great flavor, the salads are generous portions with great proteins on them. The dressings are all house made. The service is great, friendly and gives great suggestions. I'm the back is a small stage and bourbon bar so it's got a great look and feel to the entire place! I went to Street City Pub for the first, and probably last, time this past Thursday for their trivia night. The overall experience was very disappointing, and I think this restaurant could use some work on training their servers. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes for someone to wait on us and I had to stop someone to get their attention. After flagging someone down, we asked what their happy hour was and the waitress pretended like it was over even though it wasn't 8pm yet and all their signage said happy hour was until 8pm. Once we got our drinks, we asked for water and the waitress never brought it and only checked on us once after that. The icing on the cake was that the waitress rang our bill up wrong too. We left trivia half way through because of the poor service and overall experience of this restaurant. Would not recommend!! read more

It's an Irish Pub / Sports bar that cater to Reds and FCC fans. Food and drink specials on Monday and Tuesday. Drink specials on Wednesday and Sunday. Kids can eat free on Sundays! (With entree purchase). Trivia Thursday, comedy and karaoke Friday, and Live Music on Saturday! Our food was good and promptly served by our beautiful waitress Brianna. For the second stop of burger week, we stumbled in this newer bar by accident, and I'm glad we did. We came in right before the lunch rush and got our food very fast. The bar/restaurant is more of a restaurant, but it looked like they had a stage for singers or a comedian. The atmosphere might be nice for a first date or for a friends night out. The facilities seemed to be very clean. We all ordered the FC Cincy Burger and it was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly medium, it was juicy with great flavor, the pimento cheese and onion ring really added nice flavor. I also had a side Caesar salad, it was also as good as a Caesar salad can be. The service was sub par, which is the reason for the 4 stars, I would definitely go back for this burger. read more

A group of us just left and were planning on ordering dinner for 4 people. Hoping to help a business during the pandemic. I need to point out that we were one of three parties at the restaurant. One with three people, one with two, and we were a party of 4. We started with an appetizer that took almost 30 minutes and still after nobody checking on us and no update on the food we finally asked for the check. There were a few employees there but they seemed focused on the flower arrangements for the tables or the art being painted in the back of the restaurant vs the customers actually in the restaurant. By the time we left we didn't have any drinks left and nobody asked if we wanted anything else and we again never heard an update on the food.
