This Place sucks. The food is terrible, the service is so bad, and the management is horible. The tables are dark and sticky.

Our great experience started with a friendly hostess who seated us and t continued with our server who was friendly & attentive. The food was really good. The menu has so many great options that it took my family a long time to decide what to have. We decided to each have our own personal pizzas, a side of lodge poles (cheesy breadsticks) and the house salad (a delicious salad with pears, grape nuts and balsamic vinaigrette). Along with huckleberry lemonade and huckleberry ale we all enjoyed our meal tremendously. We plan to go back to try more menu items. read more

Wish I would've read the yelp reviews for this place before ordering. Honestly, I mainly wanted to get the wings, which were pretty good. No complaints. Got the honey bbq. The apple and chicken flatbread, however... how does one mess up a flatbread this badly? The bread itself was so paper thin I'm not sure how it held together. The gouda and cheddar on top weren't melted at all. Like super dry and crumbly. There were also a grand total of 3 paper thin apple slices. All in all, can't really recommend this place except for the wings. Got my order to go, so can't speak to the service. read more

We ordered a Buffalo Mack with no blue cheese on top. It came with zero sauce. It was dry pasta with breadcrumbs. Why call it Buffalo then? It was flavorless and inedible. Tried calling back but got hung up on twice. The rest of of food was average. Waste of money but lesson learned. read more

I've been to this location before and had a decent meal and an enjoyable experience, this time I came in and was studiously ignored by everyone on the floor. Having not been approached for a good ten minutes or gotten any eye contact from anyone (like not even a, "just a minute! Someone will come seat you soon") I took my business to sidewall pizza instead. I don't know if they need to hire a host or if the awareness of the staff lapsed today but it was pretty disappointing. I know sometimes the ball gets dropped, but being completely ignored is aggravating. read more

The pizza was ok. The cheesecake was good. The staff was rude. Our server Jen had her hand on the menu to take it as I was reading the appetizers. (Very strange) Then a girl with a red scarf on her head came by our table and whispered in my ear "I won't tell anyone, but we don't allow dogs in here." I looked at here a little shocked and told her she was a service dog. She looked me with a puzzled look and said oh. Like she didn't know want a service dog was. No I would not go back nor recommend. We love Mackenzie River. This is our go to spot for pizza in town. The price is right, and the pizza is always delicious (I recommend original crust rather than thin). Also, the lodgepoles are a must. So. Dang. Good. I've never had a bad experience at the Bozeman location with dine in or take out! Service can sometimes be slow, but we live in a town that is expensive to live in so unfortunately a lot of places are largely understaffed. Stop here next time you want a delicious pizza and cheesy bread!! read more

This local (not) favorite lives up to its 3-star average. Service was friendly and slow, and our waitress inadvertently shepherded us through an unintentional 3-course meal (phased delivery of lunch items for a 5-top). Kitchen must have been struggling with timing as the place was empty. White pizza was decent, poutine was dreadful (fridge-cold curds over soggy fries, tepid canned gravy), artichoke dip average, inedible wings had the consistency of wet croutons (not sure how that's possible). My Uncle Boogie said his Alfredo was up to snuff. Iced tea was good. That's about it. Come with an appetite and low expectations and you'll leave only mildly disappointed. read more

Upon arriving we politely asked if we could sit at the open booth but the hostess said she couldn't seat us there and then put us at a cramped table in the middle in which the people next to us kept backing their chairs into us the entire meal. The hostess promptly seated a group that came in right after us in the booth. The smoked trout dip was great. My son ordered pulled pork nachos as his meal and there was very little pulled pork and cheese but a ton of jalapeños, despite us asking for no jalapeños. We were going to ask the waitress for something different but we just picked the jalapeños off because she didn't come back for ten minutes. Waitress was was friendly but just mediocre overall on drinks, napkins, plates, etc. On the Portnoy scale the 2 pizzas we had would be a 6 out of 10. One pizza (The Mack) was ok but super oily and the other (Humble Pie) had good flavors but was super doughy. Fox News Live was on the big screen - maybe rethink and park your politics as part of a dining experience...unless that's REALLY what you're going for? After we left, my wife commented how the hostess stared at her with a nasty look as she walked out. With all of the other good dining options in Bozeman just go someplace else. MacKenzie River is such a great place to eat. Their pizza is awesome and their menu has a nice variety so even if you don't want pizza, they'll have something for you. From soups to salads and sandwiches, they have something for you. And it's all delicious! The Hawaiian pizza with jalapeños was incredible. My wife loved her salad. And it's great for small or large parties. So go there with your spouse or take all of your friends. They won't disappoint! read more

My family and I waited 30 minutes for a waiter to take our order while seated, had to flag them down. Took our order and continues to wait for an additional 20 minutes for refreshments. Brought us cold food 35 minutes later. Son cried because he was so hungry. Disaster. read more

Service was horrible. We waited for 15 minutes just to get someone to talk to us about getting seated then waited another 45 minutes for our food without anyone checking in or refilling glasses. There were only 4 tables filled in the entire restaurant. After we asked about our food it was another 15 minutes until our server came back to say our food had not yet been started on. Server claimed they are understaffed but there are more employees than customers from what I can see. Only reason i give two stars instead of one is because they compensated our meal cost. Possibly a stupid thing to do and it was against my advice but the family ordered several pizzas on the night of the Christmas Stroll. Just don't. Long story short they screwed up so badly that the manager refunded us our entire order without any prompt or complaint from us. So I do appreciate that ability to show good customer service. The food is decent!! The pizzas are pretty good. The reason I gave one star is because it's filthy!! With all the Covid stuff going in you would think they would be careful and abide by cleaning guidelines. I used a wipe as I always do on tables and it was filthy. I will share a picture. So Wyatt should not be serving. I hope he was stoned, as it would be hard to be that stupid. Brought wrong salad dressing. Pizza was ordered without butter on the crust, had butter on it. Pizza was to be double cut, it wasn't. My wife asked for an extra plate and some napkins, Wyatt disappeared and never brought them even though the plates and napkins were 9' away from us. He didn't put my beer on the bill. My wife ordered a second beer, Wyatt never brought it. Wyatt disappeared for long periods of time even though the place wasn't that busy. Probably not Wyatt's fault unless he wrote "extra spicy" but my cajun chicken pasta was so spicy i couldn't eat it (and i eat a lot of spicy food). Overall a horrible dining experience. read more

Have eaten here many times on various trips to Bozeman. As pizza establishments go this place is first rate. Great pizza-both thin and traditional crust. Great selection of brews and other non pizza offerings. The service was very friendly and attentive-even on a very busy evening. I highly recommend this place. read more

My son got a cheese pizza which was decent. I got the chicken tortilla soup. It was extremely salty and had diced cooked chicken breast in it which had the consistency of deli meat. It was packed but staff was very friendly and worked hard to get our party of 6 seated. The pesto pasta and baked ziti was delicious! Definitely would recommend. We also had Ceaser salad, and artichoke dip which were pretty good. For dessert we had flourless chocolate cake, huckleberry cheesecake and the 'McLovin. The cheesecake still had frozen parts so it wasn't my favorite but it was still good. The flourless chocolate cake was dark chocolate - which I loved but if you're only a milk chocolate fan- take note (also it's more like fudge then cake-it's flourless). The McLovin was a hot chocolate chip Cookie with vanilla ice cream and it was the whole tables favorite. So good!!! read more

One of the few restaurants open during late afternoon hours. Menu offers a good variety. The sandwiches were very tasty! Loved the Wrangler. Salads were fresh, but rather pricey. Good draft beer selection. Friendly, attentive service. Prices are on the high end compared to neighboring restaurants. Fyi -- My sandwich was served with tortilla chips so I asked for salsa, but they have no salsa in the restaurant, which was odd (especially because they serve nachos) lol. This place serves decent food in a friendly and casual atmosphere. I ordered the linguini with meatball and my friend ordered the Cajun chicken pasta. His dish was way better than mine. The marinara they used on my dish was too sweet and didn't have any dimension. It was basically just tomato paste with meat mixed in. I did enjoy the breadstick and my side salad a lot though! The side salad came with pears in it, which was interesting and different. The best part about the meal was the Mack Lovin dessert - chocolate chip cookie cooked in a skillet and served with vanilla icecream on top. Yuummmm! I appreciated that our server filled up our water and tea frequently and was also really friendly and attentive. If I lived in the area I would give this place another shot, but I wouldn't order that entree again. read more

There were busy but had three tables that could sit 4,4 and 6 people that no one was at sitting in a row. They still gave us a 30 min wait for the other larger party to leave the restaurant. Always one of our favorite pizza options when in town. Like the main street location. Nice locale & decor. Decent seating. Pizza is always fresh & well prepared. Service with a smile and a dash of Montana charm. Recommend the Lodgepoles to start off - won't disappoint. And besides, where else do you get a chance to order something as Montana as Lodgepoles?
