The steak was the shaved beef they use for the sandwich and the chili was both undercooked and under-seasoned. The sandwich was decent - very skimpy on the mushrooms though. I thought it was interesting that no plate or utensils were offered - the sandwich was wrapped in paper and foil. A roll of paper towels served as napkins. The help-yourself pickle bucket was interesting. The team was nice and service was good. Although I saw no evidence of table-cleaning, you have to wipe the table yourself. They offer specials, a great menu (with hilarious descriptions!), baked goods and coffee. The special of the day was eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes and they happily removed the meat for me. The Benedict was perfect from the ooze of the egg, the flavor and amount of hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were also perfect and I loved the potion size. Of note, the ketchup did not have high fructose corn syrup which I really appreciated and it tasted so much better! The man working at the front was SO friendly and kind and the chef even came to check on us to see how our meal was. Such amazing service! The ambiance is also 5 stars. It's an adorable spot with cozy seating, lamps on the table and homey decorations. This is a must try in Livingston!
