This newly opened shop just opened their first shop in BC It is located in the Edmonds area across from Buy Low Foods Their brand originates from Macau and their other branches are spread out in Canada They offer specialty drink series that appeals for everyone, here's some that stood out to me: - cheesecake series - cream cheese series - soda series - fruit tea series - coffee series - Avocado series - Special toppings like egg pudding, and cheesekcake cream The drinks are quite colorful like their names of their drinks (Sunshine Lemon, Over the Rainbow, Castle in the Sky). They also have special bottles that look like bears, which are beary cute We got the Over the Rainbow, Cheesecake Oreo Pearl Milk tea, and Castle in the Sky. The drinks were pretty, you get to reuse the bottle from Over the Rainbow. The staff took their time to explain their drinks to us since the menu doesn't have descriptions The Cheesecake Oreo had a good balance of sweet, salty, and oreo flavors. Overall the drink is quite smooth and not too heavy The Castle in the Sky has blue sky syrup, yakult and a piece of orange, and it tastes like Orange Creamsicle. This is perfect for you if you love those flavors. I did wish it was blended better, because I did find large pieces of ice. They also sell Waffles, and prepared desserts like New York cheesecake, Filipino sweets Yema Mamon (Filipino sponge cake) Sansrival Bites, Empanadas They offer a wide variety of drink with prices ranging $4.99 - $9.49 . The seating area is pretty comfy. Definitely a place to chill with some friends, and make post for IG, they have two giant stuffed bears at the front of the shop. I would come back next time to try their other drinks -- the Cream cheese series look tempting

I'm really digging these bubble teas at Macao Imperial!!! There were soo many selections it was so hard to decide what to choose! My friends and I ordered the Mango Pomelo Sago + Cheesecake Pearl Purple Taro + Cheesecake Oreo Pearl Milk Tea. And now that I have tried the cheesecake series drink it may be a hard not to go back to it because I loved it so much! What's amazing about this series is its extra layers of creamy cheesecake like cream. It balances sooo well with the drink without being too rich or overly sweet!

Super fast and friendly. I like their bubble tea options and toppings. And there always seems to be parking across the road!

It is a small space, but full of personality and charm. We ordered a Matcha Latte ($7), Japanese Latte ($7), and Matcha & Black Sesame Moffin ($1.50/each). I personally enjoy my matcha unsweetened so I loved that this one was served without sweeteners, and the matcha is lighter bodied with earthy flavours. The Japanese latte is made with coffee beans from Japan, and I'm not a coffee drinker usually so I can't comment much other than the fact it tasted mellow but had depth. The mochi muffins were not too sweet and deliciously chewy! I'd love to come back to try their hojicha latte!

I was very impressed and definitely want to go back the shop as soon as I can. I want to try their baking goods next time.

They sell a bunch of Brazilian snacks but overall the inside of the store looked worn out. We came in on a Sunday morning and no one was at the front. I rang the bell and a young girl came to take our order. She was sweet but looked very stressed. She ran to the back and was on the phone with her boss frantically asking for help. She then came running out and told us it'll be a wait because she needs to get a big order out. I replied no problem and went to grab a seat. After awhile I rang the bell again and asked for a refund and said I would return another time. The girl said she could make the food now. The next few minutes all we heard was the microwave constantly going off and it was clear nothing was made fresh. Feijoada: apparently this is their most popular dish and I liked the vibrant colours. However the pork was overcooked and nothing tasted fresh except for the slice of orange. Strogonoff: the creamy sauce was not bad but it was so salty we were really thirsty after. The chicken was overcooked. Coxinha: I was excited to try tradition Brazilian croquettes but these were clearly frozen and again didn't taste fresh.

It looked like a coffee shop with their drinks and cakes, but also serves some Brazilian staples (feijoada, coxinha etc.). The theme is definitely on the casual side. There is a nice small covered patio in front. My biggest complaint was that the service was just atrocious. When I walked in, there was 1 customer in front of me. She was jabbering with the staff in Portuguese. The staff (both of them) saw me standing there and just ignored me. After a minute, I grabbed a menu off the table and stood there holding it. They looked at me again and kept on chatting with that customer. After a few minutes, another (3rd) customer arrived. This customer was confused too, as she couldn't tell if there was a lineup, since I was just standing around staring at the gaggle behind the counter. She then stood behind me and also waited for a few minutes, while the staff continued to ignore both of us. Total wait time was 12-13 minutes(!) before someone behind the counter decided to acknowledge our existence. Considering there were a total of 3 customers (not including a small group already seated), this is quite unacceptable. It was like the staff were there to socialize. The staff are obviously local Brazilians, as the cashier didn't have the best English. He didn't know what decaf was. Fortunately I had Google Translate. I ordered a flat white. They make this thing automatically with the push of a button. In other words, the coffee machine is similar to those found at car dealerships. I guess the redeeming factors was that the coffees here are quite inexpensive, and the flat white tasted decent for a generic coffee. My other complaint is that the cakes aren't made in house. Looks like they're made by a local bakery (Sinatra's). Price is definitely on the high side, but the carrot cake I had was very decent. I really wanted to like this place, but honestly have trouble recommending it. The service was atrocious, the coffees are office/gas station grade, and the cakes can just be obtained directly from the bakery supplier. Guess I'm going elsewhere for my next coffee/dessert fix.

This cafe merits repeat visits as I have enjoyed every item I ordered here. We especially liked their savory items such as breakfast sandwiches and the roast beef melt! Unfortunately, the lobster melt is no longer available on the menu or that would be my favourite. Bastion is a popular place for coffee drinkers to work on their laptops here, because there are outlets available by the round table area that looks into the gym. Service is quite efficient and they even offer free coffee grounds for your gardens when available. Hours of operation are great here, as it opens early and continues till dinner time. Lots of free parking available, though the community centre parking lot can get busy. In short, Bastion is a great coffee shop - whether you are here to catch up with friends over coffee or to stop by for a protein drink after workout or to grab a light meal to go or to simply sit down and enjoy some pastry for your sugar cravings...Bastion Coffee Kitchen won't disappoint!

I ordered the roast beef melt sandwich which is their signature and popular item. Well deserved! It's flavorful and the beef is very soft. You can bite through it easily and there's no dryness at all. It's great if you prefer softer food or teeth are not strong. Lots of tables and seating area. It only got crowded when people sat around waiting for their fitness class. The only drawback was the parking. It was almost full! I was lucky to find a spot round the corner. I sure didn't expect it to be so busy. Reminded me of the busy parking lot at Hillcrest CC in Vancouver. Maybe I was there when there were many fitness classes or activities then. Good place to have a bite or coffee after your workout or to meet friends.
