To their credit, they showed up the very next day and they were on time. Two technicians arrived and immediately got to work. One was on the roof while the other worked in the basement, and it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. They also explained that this is a family owned business, with multiple family members working together on the same jobs, which really showed in how coordinated and invested they were in the work. The scope of work involved installing a stainless steel chimney liner designed to properly vent double gas appliances, upgrading existing connections for safety and code compliance, installing two double tee connections, and finishing everything with a stainless steel top plate and rain cap. They also handled flashing and waterproofing by installing aluminum flashing with ice shield underlayment, carefully removing shingles as needed, and waterproofing the exterior of the chimney to prevent future moisture issues. What stood out most was their professionalism and communication. They explained each step clearly, answered questions without rushing, and made sure I understood why certain upgrades were necessary. The workmanship looks excellent and very clean, especially considering the complexity of the job. Despite the rocky start, they ultimately delivered quality work and followed through when it mattered. The only reason I brought them in was to clean and make sure it was working properly. I've been told by others who have since tried to help us get it working that we probably need to remove the fan that they convinced us we needed. And charged us so much for. Even if the fan did work (which it doesn't - smoke billows into the living room -- NEVER did that before Ace came) the fan sounds like an engine on an airplane, which takes away any chance of enjoying a fire. I should have written this ages ago, but I was hoping we would figure out a way to make it work. If you have an older house, PLEASE find a company that knows what they are doing. I recently moved into a flip and, to both of our surprise, discovered feet of concrete and bricks stuffed in the middle of my chimney -- meaning my hot water heater and gas line weren't venting properly. Oscar and his team quite literally saved my life. When you buy a new home, you never know what surprises are waiting behind the walls. Oscar went above and beyond to make sure I was safe, that the job was done correctly, and that they'd leave with absolutely no trace they were ever there. Mid-project, they had to open a wall, and not only did they patch the drywall, but they painted it, too -- you'd never know it was touched. He took the time to explain everything in detail so I could actually understand the process, documented every step, and made me feel like a true partner in the project. One thing he said that really stuck with me was: "I know you own the house, but it's our fireplace now." That level of care and pride in his work says it all. Last spring, we had a terrible wind storm here in Massachusetts that resulted in our chimney cap…read morebeing being torn from our Chimney. Visual inspection showed the Crown and a some mortar work needed. I pursued several quotations and evaluated the work described in each. Of these, Paramount seemed to be the most sensible, repairing what is necessary and not trying to sell me on what was not needed. Our work crew consisted of Steve and Armani (also the folks who quoted the work). The day after the quotation, they were available to do the work and even though we were at the beginning of a heat wave with temperatures in the high 90's. They worked tirelessly to demo the chimney to get to good solid structure and started the rebuild of the Crown, re-pointing where needed and re-installation of the chimney cap (blown down from the storm but not damaged). While here I also had them seal the brick work for moisture intrusion. Photo's were taken before and after to compare, to ensure I was happy with the work before their departure. I can't say enough how happy I am that this is done, and done so well. Also VERY impressed by Steve and Armani with their quality of work.

I gave my deposit and then was called several weeks later and said they could not do the job for that amount due to the rise in prices during COVID. The prices had already gone up when I was given the estimate, so I didn't understand why the sudden change. I think they realized that the estimate was on the low side. They will be sending me back my deposit, putting it in the mail tomorrow morning. I just don't think this is good business. And even if they came back and said they would do the job for the original estimate I still would not go with this company. All comments are welcome. Eddie the guy that gave me the estimate called me this morning and apologized for the mistake. Due to the COVID issues, which is like Eddie said is no ones fault everything has gone up tremendously. Even though I have never had work done by this company, I am giving it 5 stars for the Honesty. Another reason why I changed my star rating was because of customer service on the part of Eddie. It was very nice for him to take the time out to call me, and that did mean a lot. I'm just disappointed because at this point I have to put my work off till the spring.
