Of course I found this business on YELP where else would I look? At first I was a little skeptical with only 7 other reviews, which is not much to go with. But after reading those reviews in its entirety. My husband and I decided to give them a call for an estimate. I spoke with Joe the owner of The Paint Pro's. He was able to come out and give me an estimate that same day which was awesome. He arrived at the scheduled appointment time which is always a plus. We told him what we wanted painted but we really didn't have any colors in mind we just knew we needed a paint job. Joe suggested some colors that I would have never considered and little did we know that we would go with those suggested colors and our walls would look amazing. After the estimate the next day we decided that we wanted to go with The Paint Pro's. The price was very reasonable and if Joe feels that you don't need a wall or a room painted, he won't paint it, it not about painting more rooms to get extra money with this company. Joe had such an amazing personality. He was very pleasant, had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about paint. Joe came that same day we called him and spackle the walls. The next day he arrived and began. The job was suppose to take two days. However, Joe finished everything in one day. Communication was excellent and he explained everything he was going to do and everything he was doing. Joe went above and beyond and definitely exceeded our expectations. I waited to write this review on purpose because I wanted to wait and let the Paint settle and look at it in every angle and under all the possible lighting and I have absolutely no complaints. Joe just crown molded & painted my family a fairy tale nursery for our first child due in 2022! My wife was over the moon with the finished product of both the nursery & downstairs bathroom! He also went above and beyond improving the existing doors to the room with a beautiful trim to each door. I wasn't expecting that. He also touched up the downstairs where I attempted to paint. Joe was incredible to work with. In our first meeting, the depth of his knowledge and experience was immediately clear. He is very trustworthy, and worked with me to find the best solution for our project, which involved color matching, and treating and repainted an area of the ceiling that had water damage from a roof leak. He gave us an honest assessment of the project and made sure that we executed the project in the right way, returning more than once in order to make sure we had the proper coats and coverage. Joe saved us. We purchased a home on the north fork and made the mistake of hiring someone else initially to paint our home. The prior person destroyed it. We have very high 12-15 foot ceilings throughout. Joe went above and beyond to help us and did it quickly. He did more than we asked and made it look absolutely beautiful. He used the very expensive grey and white Benjamin Moore paint that we asked for. Our only regret was not having him do it from day 1, would have saved us a lot of heart ache and money. Now Joe comes back every few years and stains our decks with arbor coat. (It's also very expensive and requires a real expert so few painters know how to use it). Joe is a perfectionist. He always does an incredible job. We've even had him fix and paint our ceiling recently after water damage and it is absolute perfection. The reviews here on Yelp seemed too good to be true, but now I write to say how grateful I am for the Paint Pros, and how grateful to myself I am for contracting with them! I had a peeling ceiling and two rooms that needed painting. The owner, Joe, and his team was professional, timely, personable, and talented from the estimate to the final touches. Joe suggested colors that I would not have considered for the rooms on my own, but in the end, the hues suit the rooms perfectly. Joe was communicative, did not change his price part-way through the job (as so many Long Island contractors have a tendency to do), was very pleasant in conversation, cleaned up each day before leaving, and most importantly, executed the work flawlessly. Before leaving on the final day, he helped rehang items that had come down for the painting. Based on all of my many prior contractor/home renovation experiences, I felt that something wasn't correct as the Paint Pros loaded the truck for the last time: I should be arguing with them about price, or feeling that I was ripped off, or annoyed that my home was left messy, or dissatisfied with the work, or that the contractor or one of the workers had been rude. But there was not the slightest cause for any of that. I was just, really really happy, in my gorgeously painted kitchen. So I made some tea and stared at the walls for a while, smiling like a child on her birthday. Choosing a contractor is a stressful process. Over the course of restoring my 1850 home, working with a wide variety of contractors, I haven't found many that I would recommend, but I will enthusiastically say that Joe is the only contractor I've found who I would highly, highly recommend to absolutely anyone, whatever the job, no hesitations. If you ever read this: thank you, Joe! You've made our home a more beautiful place, and didn't cause any of the usual home reno stress to in order to help us achieve it. read more

I found Paint Pros here on yelp, had them come over and give me an estimate but decided to go with a friend instead... when my friend gave me their estimate, it was almost double joe's. I called joe to see if he was still available.. he was not, but he rearranged his schedule to accommodate me because he knew I needed it done timely. We were referred to Joe by our friends in the neighborhood to paint our entire (large) new house before we moved in. Joe came to give us an estimate on Saturday and completed the job within 4 days. Not only did the house look amazing, but Joe made the entire experience fun. He sent pictures every day to show the progress of the house and as the days went by an old house looked brand new. There aren't enough stars available for Joe and his team. Painted most of our new home in NO TIME. He made sure the project was complete before we moved our furniture and things in, and did so with a few days to spare. He's honest, gives suggestions, etc. He went above and beyond "painting". He screwed all the switch plates back, he did some trim work which wasn't even in the original plan, even repaired/spackled a cracked wall because he really wants it to look perfect, and it does! He was also the most affordable estimate of the three I received. Can't list enough good things, extremely happy and highly recommend his work!...obviously. read more

In addition, he came across a new color for my bathroom which I was just going to have painted white because I couldn't envision a color that would work well with the existing floor. Our experience with Joe Ferreiro and "Paint Pros" is akin to a horror movie. I asked him to paint my empty house on the East End of Long Island while I was working in California and unfortunately didn't see his 'work' for over a week. First, I asked for Benjamin Moore - Natura - White Heron as I am a Type 1 diabetic and my elderly mother has breathing issues. I was charged more for the purchase of a Non-VOC paint. Sadly, Mr. Ferreiro didn't use Benjamin Moore Natura, nor did he use the color I asked for, and he has refused a handful of requests to give me the receipt (assumedly because it does not exist). I had samples of wall from 3 different rooms taken to a certifed Benjamin Moore paint store (ironically the company he buys paint from) and after testing them with a spectrophotometer was told, "It is physically impossible that this is White Heron, and each sample is a different mixture of paint." Meaning Joe Ferreiro used a different paint or mixture of old paints and hoped his customer wouldn't notice. Unfortunately for him, I did, as the paint used is yellow in hue and White Heron, according to Benjamin Moore and his paint supplier, is grey in hue. It gets worse... he claimed he could do carpentry work and subcontracted a competent person to do the work, which would have been fine but he insisted on working with them and maimed more or less everything he touched. When asked why the face boards on our new decking were not even, he insisted he did it "to help the water run off." When asked why a door on a storage room didn't close properly, he said he "made it so that you really have to pull hard on purpose to lock in the smell of cedar." The contractors who came in to fix his mistakes were literally laughing out loud at that one. And yet, there's more... he was asked to change the electrical switches and face plates and he wired most all of them incorrectly, with loose wires in the majority of switches, one that had already burned, and others our electrician said were certain to be a very big problem in the near future. He stapled electrical wires directly above our fireplace, obviously vulnerable to higher temperatures, and then put dry wall over them without mentioning it to us. We discovered it only because he used 5/8" dry wall when 1/2" was required and it was not flush with the wall so we were forced to replace it. Virtually every professional I have had in after him has said they have never seen any thing like it. On a smaller scale, he didn't paint our skylights or closets, he didn't take down window brackets and simply painted around them, saying "The new window coverings will hide it." He put the HDMI/ cable cord concealors on upsidedown AND backwards so they were literally sticking 3 to 4 inches out of the wall with the wires seemingly jumping out of them. He threw his cigarettes all over my yard on a daily basis and when asked to stop doing it, he argued about it. The next day he continued throwing them on our lawn and told his workers to pick them up for him (which is somehow even more disgusting). We have been working for two weeks since he left and we continue to find examples of his incompetence/ thoughtlessness... we have filed a report with his licensing board, as well as with the police as he made threats of violence towards myself (a woman) and my friend whom has been helping me to renovate. We have started the process of taking him to small claims court. If you love lies, loud music, racist jokes, screaming, cussing, being charged for items you didn't buy and being told you're "fucking crazy" when you ask for your receipt, Joe Ferreiro is your guy. If not, run for your life in another direction. A blind amateur with a vendetta could paint your house better. I have heard many horror stories about contractors over the years, but nothing could come close to this guy. I'm not sure who some of the positive reviews are talking about, but they are either fakes or a totally different person working under the same name. Please beware. read more

He is caring, honest, and as nice a guy as you'll ever meet. His work is impeccable!
