They also explained that this is a family owned business, with multiple family members working together on the same jobs, which really showed in how coordinated and invested they were in the work. The scope of work involved installing a stainless steel chimney liner designed to properly vent double gas appliances, upgrading existing connections for safety and code compliance, installing two double tee connections, and finishing everything with a stainless steel top plate and rain cap. They also handled flashing and waterproofing by installing aluminum flashing with ice shield underlayment, carefully removing shingles as needed, and waterproofing the exterior of the chimney to prevent future moisture issues. What stood out most was their professionalism and communication. They explained each step clearly, answered questions without rushing, and made sure I understood why certain upgrades were necessary. They had the nicest showroom of the four stores we visited. I met with the owner, Craig, to discuss different options. I explained to Craig that we were primarily interested in using the fireplace for aesthetics. Although we thought we wanted the more expensive gas insert, Craig informed me the gas log set would do a better job of meeting our needs. I returned a few days later with my wife, and we had a similar discussion with Jeff. Although we really liked the look of the gas inserts, Jeff convinced us it was not for us. My wife and I don't like being hot, and we wouldn't use it enough with small kids running around. Craig visited my house a couple weeks later to take measurements, and we placed the order. He told me to expect a call in 3-4 weeks for the installation. Craig called 3 weeks later and my fireplace was installed 4 weeks after placing the order. The installer showed up during the installation window and he was very neat and quick. After he finished and left, I noticed one of the doors was not properly aligned. I called Craig and he came to the house within 30 minutes to fix it. He apologized for the error and said, "It has to be perfect."
