Terrible! Stay away from this company!! On May 2,2022, I had a scheduled a/c checkup, which was part of my yearly a/c and heating coverage agreement. They canceled the appointment because it was drizzling outside. Jessica, who contacted me to cancel the appointment told me that someone would get in touch with me within 2-3 days. So, someone should have called to reschedule by May 5. This never happened!! On May 8, I reached out on their company website without any response. On May 9, 2022, I called and got transferred to their answering service. Again, there was no call back! I did the same outreach the next day and Wednesday May 11,2022. I had also written an email to the owner , Mike on May 10,2022. There were a total of 5 outreach attempts without a response, only leaving my cell number for them to call back. Finally, I was fed up with their lack of responsiveness to my calls and e-mails. When I left my third phone message today with their answering service, I told the receptionist that if I didn't get a call back today that I would be writing a negative review and I would be taking them to small claims court to get half of my contract money ( $543 ) returned to me. Only today did I finally get a call back from the owner Mike. He was nasty, when he should have been apologetic to me. He told me that he's dropping me as a customer. He said he was going to come to my home , which I took as an implied threat to me and my family. He also lied to me and told me that he contacted me 5 times. This is a blatant lie as I just spent the last few hours checking my phone records for my mobile phone and landline. He only called back after I threatened to take him to court for breach of contract, which seemed to be what he was doing by avoiding calling me back and providing the services that I paid for in my yearly contract. I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with this company to seek another alternative. He is a nasty owner and can not be trusted. It is virtually impossible to reach anyone by phone and they certainly don't value their customers. I told him that I would give home 3 days from today to return half of my contract money. I don't expect that he will do this. So, I will likely be seeing him court in the near future!! I'd like to give ZERO stars, but apparently I can't do it !! read more

If I could give Pro Active Home Services 0 stars I would. They installed a gas boiler for me. I had 2 separate heating zones and I later learned that though they installed a good boiler, it wasn't the correct boiler for my needs. This brand new boiler shut down 2 times in 3 months. I called the office 6 times and didn't get a response. I finally had to hire a real plumber who corrected all my boiler issues. When I asked Pro Active to reimburse me because they gave a one year warrant... they refused without g me a reason why. Additionally they said that they would put in the rebate with National Grid. They never submitted the paperwork and claimed it was my responsibility and that the program ex. NOT TRUE. Luckily I was able to navigate the rebate myself. They are responsive until they get your money and then... not so much. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this awful company. We've had a relationship with Pro Active for a few years now and generally they are very polite and prompt. It irks us to have to write this review but us feel it morally necessary. They came to do our standard Gas Heating Inspection. Since they've done this before we allowed them access to the boiler room and let them go about their job. When they finished they informed us everything was in working order and were on their way out the door. We asked them if they can show us what they did down in the boiler room and if there is anything we should know. They assured us that it really wasn't necessary, everything was fine (This was my error as we should have made it more of an expectation versus a suggestion). A few days later, my husband went to inspect the dryer ducts that vent through the boiler room, because the clothes weren't drying ... These ducts carry the dryer exhaust to be vented outside. They were completely disassembled and lying in pieces, all over the boiler room floor. Here's the thing, we checked the boiler room before they came down, making sure our carbon monoxide detectors were functioning. Everything was properly in place and working fine. It appears they took it upon themselves to take apart these ducts, not asking or informing us at all. Now, unknown to us, our gas dryer was venting into the boiler room instead of outside, because the ducts were no longer connected. We were extremely confused, angry and frightened at the potential danger involved in this. In my haste to fix the situation, I forgot to take any photos (I know this may work against me but there's nothing I can do now), we called our contractor (who came the next morning) and he put it all back together. Even he was perplexed as to why they would do this. This happened in the Fall of 2019 and I thought initially that I wouldn't write this review. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I would simply speak to them in the Spring when it was time to do our Air Conditioning Maintenance. I spoke to a very polite, concerned girl who assured me that she would speak to Mike immediately and he would get back to us. Well, it's been a week and we haven't heard anything from them. Therefore, I feel it is time to share my experience as I really wouldn't want anyone to have to deal with anything similar. I had someone come out to service our 1 year old Navien system. The tech opened up the system, checked a few parts and told me that the system is really clean and didn't need much work. I paid the fee and he was on his way. That night I noticed that there was water leaking and condensation so I had to have them come out again. They don't have any evening hours, which is not their fault, but due to this I had to take time off from work each time they had to come look at the system. After having them look at my system a second time, I noticed that there were minor issues here and there with the system. For example there was a constant water leaking sound inside the pipes, also the system would be constantly running on and off even when water wasn't being used in the home. We decided to have another plumber come out and check the system because about a month later we had hot water issues. Turns out that the system needed a flush, and some parts were loose which was causing the system to have the water running issue and the constant turning on and off. Very disappointed that ProActive was not able to catch these problems and our system ran worse than before they came out to look at it. read more

I called this Company to service my humidifier on my forced air furnace. They replaced the humidistat for $100 , humidifer still didnt work then they said the sensors needed to be replaced, then tried to upsell me on a new humidifer for $500 when all I needed was a $45 maintenance kit to replace the old parts. Once i told Michael the owner about the maintenance kit offered by the manufacturer online for $45 , he said he will check it out and call me back. He never did nor did he ever send a tech back out to finish the job. After 2 days I called his office left a message with his secretary. That was 3 weeks ago. My A/C went down and they did a great job of squeezing me into a Saturday appt at the last minute before the weather got really hot. Not only do I feel like they spoke to me in terms I can easily understand, but they make me feel they are trying every alternative approach before taking a more expensive route. They explained what they are doing it and why versus some repairmen do then slam you with a big bill. Had a couple of problems in our bathroom so I called Proactive. Process was quick, easy and everyone was very friendly. They had a technician come within an hour of when I called. He (Stephen) did a great job, was friendly and didn't leave any mess. He replaced the diverter and snaked the drain in our bathtub. Arctic air's initial response was satisfactory in obtaining a replacement coil that was under warranty, however when our compressor then seized and we lost air conditioning, they became very unresponsive because of a dispute they have with a supplier of the unit we needed. We were left during indian summer without CAC in the office. As a result I now have to deal with another vendor having wasted nearly two weeks waiting for them to perform a service. I called virtually every day but could not get service when temperatures in office ranged between 83-90 degrees. I would not rely on Arctic air in the future. read more

I am very upset with the lack of communication provided by Arctic. I bought a service agreement from them which entitles me to a visit from a technician if there is a problem with my unit. AS it turns out, I have had to call them several times since purchasing the agreement, and their responsiveness has been terrible. I called early in the day and was told a tech would be in touch with me. Several hours later, I am in a sweltering house with kids who are whiny and will not go to sleep, and I have still not heard back from them. Even worse, this is the second time that the unit has not been functioning and a whole day has passed since hearing back from a technician. With the unreliable cooling system that I have, I need a reliable AC service. I think I will need to look elsewhere soon read more

We just had our central air Condenser and Air Handler replaced by Proactive and can not be more satisfied. From initial inquiry to quote to install, Mike and team were extremely professional and responsive. When Mike came by for a quote he made sure to call while on his way to give us a heads up. During the quote he was very nice and respectful of our property to put shoe covers on so that he wouldn't dirty our floors. He gave us a few detailed options (with model numbers and specs) and answered all of our questions in a timely manner, we never felt pressured to buy and felt confident in our decision. On the day of install the technician Danny and Mike called before arrival and finished everything within a day (9:30a-1:30p...4 hours! -we didn't need much/any duct work) It was a little rainy on the day of install, and they made sure to lay cloth on the floor so as they walked in and out, everything would stay neat and clean.
