I didn't have any photos but I described the problem and it seemed to be a simple replacement of a corroded pipe under the bathroom sink. We agreed on a price and time when he would show up. He was on time and was able to change out the corroded metal pipe to a PVC pipe. Everything was very professionally done. Very happy to have found them. Chris helped me out QUICK, FAST, and in a HURRY! I was experiencing a water leak coming from my water heater that turned into another leak created from one of the valve's due to the pipes being so out-dated. The leak was to heavy and needed to be fixed immediately. I gave chris a call and he stopped by and evaluated my problem. He was able to diagnose and give me suggestions as to what my options were. If you need a plumber, look no further - MKC Plumbing is now my go-to service! Boiler kept turning off and my usual plumber was unavailable. With the cold weather, this kind of thing needed immediate tending to - my tenants were patient but it was getting colder. I had read the reviews for MKC and secretly thought - there's no way this guy's rating is legit. It's way too high - he's getting family members to write his good reviews! Until I reached out and Kris got back to me. He came by a couple of hours later, diagnosed the issue, and gave me the news - it's not a readily available part, which could be found soon or in a couple of days at the outset. Guess what he did - he went out of his way and found it. Here's the best part: he took Before pictures and video to show me what the issue was. I never had any repairs done on the same day that I called for an appointment. Kris was the first one -- and let me tell you, my problem was no easy fix. It was a leak inside the wall. Kris had to knocked out a portion of the wall to find the problem pipe. He found it and was able to replace the pipe that had a hole in it - all on the same day I called for an appointment! While we did have to call another contractor to repair the wall, Kris was able to fix the leaking problem before it got worse. He told us what the cost would be before starting the job. Besides being a professional plumber, Kris has a great personality. If you are lucky enough to live within his service area, you should call him. I'm very glad I did -- oh, he also replaced my toilet which had permanent stain and cannot be cleaned -- on the same day! Enough said. read more

The guy quoted me and will come by before noon. Upon diagnosis, he said the clog came from kitchen sink and will charge $20 more, so I agreed. I contacted Chris for my boiler maintenance service based on the great yelp reviews. My boiler is 2 years old. Chris asked me to send a pic of the boiler and then asked me some questions. At the end, he said and I quoted, "To be honest, you don't really need it" I said "What? What do you mean?" He said that my boiler is new and it really doesn't need to have any maintenance work done. I'm always afraid to add yet another glowingly positive recommendation about someone like Kris and MKC Plumbing out of fear that the next time I need this superstar heating repair person and company, they'll be too busy and too expensive to help me out. But, alas, EVERYTHING prior Yelpers said was 110% true! Kris was the first of 5 companies (which Yelp's messaging automatically contacted for me, but he was the one I really wanted) to respond, and did so within 5 minutes of my initial message. Kris followed up with a phone call asking for the important details, asking about quick fixes that might have solved the problem, shared his extremely reasonable fees given what he thought the problem could be, and then said "I'm putting it in my GPS now and I'll be there in... 20 minutes." Kris, of course, arrived early. He then asked if he could park in the driveway after seeing no street parking (that's the kind of courtesy money can't buy). He wore his mask and kept his social distance. He evaluated the boiler (even though the rest of the house was warm) and then got to quickly repairing the broken valve on the one 2nd floor bedroom that wasn't working. Within a few minutes, he fixed the problem, cleaned the area as if he had never been there, and was done. He shared an observation about a higher-than-normal pressure coming out of my boiler, but then said that it was huge job that I DIDN'T need to have done since things have been generally working fine for years. YES! A repair professional that is only looking to solve what needs to be fixed, and is interested in doing so quickly, and affordably. Kris gave me several options for virtual payment since I didn't have cash on hand, and then left. He trusted me to pay him in full and quickly after the job was done without hovering over me to make sure I did so instantly. He sent an itemized invoice as an e-mail. Time of first Yelp message: 10:28am. Time repair done: 11:18am. LESS THAN AN HOUR on a day when NYC is enjoying a sunny 30 degree day and we've got little ones at home. Chris was very professional and helpful. On my first call with him, he didn't upsell me or force to come over to charge me for an eval fee. Instead, he listened to my problem, did a quick diagnosis over the phone, and asked me to try re-caulking my bathtub. No upselling, all honest, reasonable, and professional suggestions. Unfortunately, the ceiling was still leaking after the re-caulking, and he eventually had to come take a look. Turns out it was a leaky toilet. At a very reasonable price, he fixed the leak despite having to deal with all our feces and urine all over the floor. Never once did he complain. Last night, while watching a movie with my wife, I heard water leaking from somewhere. After investigating, I found water leaking from the circulator pump. I called a few places, but none got back to me. This morning I called those same companies, thinking someone would answer during the day. Nope, no such luck. I yelped plumbers and MKC stuck out somehow. I called at around 11:30am, by 12:30, a tech arrived, listened to my tale of woe, then promptly went about fixing the problem. Rudy, the tech is knowledgeable, professional, and a nice guy. He bled all of the baseboards, didn't make much of a mess, and if he did, he cleaned up really well. Oh, and he didn't try to upcharge or add anything extra. Always a plus. If/when the heating system finally goes, these guys are on the top of the short list to do the work. read more
