***HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 5+ stars***…read more My furnace stopped working yesterday, so I started making phone calls to different HVAC repair companies. After requesting quotes on Yelp, I got a slew of phone calls from different companies asking if I wanted to make an appointment for an estimate. At 8pm, Nick called and instead of pitching himself to do the repair, he gave us some suggestions as to what the problem could be and how to fix it. Following Nick's suggestion, we made a quick trip to Home Depot, bought the $40 piece, replaced the broken piece. The fix took less than ten minutes and just as Nick had said, the furnace was working again! Never, in my 29 years of home ownership, has a service person ever turned down an opportunity for a job that probably would've cost several hundred dollars (not including the initial diagnostic fee)!! Nick showed himself to be a stand-up guy who wasn't just looking to make a buck off me. And if in the future, I have any other HVAC needs, Nick will be the first person I call. I only wish I could give him more than 5 stars.

If he missed your call, he got back to you same day. Affordable and reasonable service fee. He also was great at identifying and fixing the fault. It was a pleasure doing business with him then and now going forward.

Hello from Scanlon's Traveling Salon, LLC... Elm came highly recommended to me by a client of mine…read morewho had ductless AC / heat installed in her home... She was delighted with them and over the moon happy with the end result... I then called them and set up an appt. to have rep. come and explain what would be needed and provided.... Kathy (the wonderful person who set up our appt. ) was awesome, patient, kind, ultra professional and "light hearted..." Superior interpersonal communication skills.. As a small business owner, I appreciate excellent customer care. The sales rep came over who was also super professional, mindful and articulated the process and what was needed in basic terms for me to wrap my head around (I'm not very domesticated!!!)... I set up the appt. for installation and just two weeks prior to moving forward with the installation, I had to cancel the install due to the owner of the home going into a group home (I'm the Trustee and guardian).. I could not move forward if my ward is placed in a group home prior to installation... All of that said, I called Kathy and explained the situation and she was so kind, empathetic and completely understanding of "life happening..." as inconvenient as life can be and getting in the way of our plans, "stuff" happens... Kathy was awesome about it and authentically concerned... I'm disappointed that I could not move forward with Elm because they seem so "superior" to other co.'s and "master plumbers" that came into the home to quote a ductless unit... My client's AC/heating unit works amazingly well and I'm sure mine would have also....My experience leading up to installation was fabulous... Highly recommend.....

The contracted work was not completed to the specifications set forth in the agreement: the…read moresecond‑floor system was to include 11 supply vents and 1 return, but only 8 supplies were installed. Scott (owner) argued that we are not entitled to a credit because we did not immediately raise the issue. This has no basis in New York contract law. A contractor cannot retain payment for components never furnished and work not performed--it is textbook unjust enrichment. There is no legal basis to deny the credit we have reasonably requested. Second, we were told we were out of warranty and billed for a service call. The contract expressly guarantees all materials and workmanship "for one year from completion." Because the HVAC system was never completed--missing supply vents and lacking required system balancing--the warranty period never began to run. It was therefore incorrect to assert that our warranty expired and charge for the service call related to system performance issues. Third, we were surprised to receive a voicemail from Elm on February 25, 2026, stating that warranty work--specifically, the thermostat controller replacements--will not be performed unless we first pay the disputed service call invoice. Conditioning a manufacturer‑covered warranty replacement on an unrelated, contested charge is inconsistent with Elm's own contract and is not permissible. Warranty obligations must be honored independently of billing disputes. Finally, Elm threatened to send us to collections. Since the service fee is not properly owed, any attempt to send the matter to collections would be baseless and contrary to the terms of the contract. We have made every effort to resolve these issues amicably, to no avail.
