Instead of addressing my concerns, she curtly suggested that the manager would explain the process to me. When the manager arrived, she politely inquired about the key features I wanted to focus on. I specified my preferences for skin and eyebrows, to which she agreed. However, the makeup artist continued the service with complete silence, not providing any information about the products or the process. It left me feeling uncomfortable and unappreciated as a customer. At one point, when the makeup artist left to showcase holiday promotional products, her demeanor suddenly changed to friendliness with another customer. I found this inconsistency in customer treatment troubling. In the end, I had to complete parts of the makeup application myself, using my own products, as there was a lack of communication and engagement from the makeup artist. Not a single word was exchanged during the process, and even as I left the store, there was no acknowledgment from either the makeup artist or the manager. She tried to charge me for a order I mad prior and being 30 percent off for my eyeshadow I just ordered online for 24$ she tried to charge 45$ and all her prices were double then what i had in my initial two orders so i said it's ok and left and she laughed with her other employee like a two very inappropriate employees. Customer service was so awful. It was evident they weren't too thrilled to help me out. I went to buy one lipstick for the last day of 40% off. Found out they had a free lipstick giveaway but ran out. When I decided what shade I wanted I stood in line to tell the employee which shade. When it was my turn I asked the employee if I could also get a sample of a water resistant foundation. She said sure and left me by the foundations. I thought she was going to get sample containers. Never did I imagine she left to continue checking customers out and the second employee that emerged from the back leaned on the counters and was on her phone. I stood like a moron for 18 minutes waiting to get matched and a sample. Then the girl looks up and I finally say, can you help me? She says sure what's up..I tell her I've been waiting all this time for a shade match and sample. Proceeds to match me. Told her I had make up on said it was fine. Made me a sample and says if that's all I needed. I said no, I need to pay for my lipstick the other employee got for me. She cuts me off saying yeah I know this one and grabs it at the register. Not sure how she knew that lipstick was mine since she wasn't on the floor prior to this. As I'm about to pay, the first employee that helped me walks out from the back with her purse and stuff and tells the other girl goodnight. Wow, if she was getting ready to leave she shouldn't have helped me then. It took a total of 35 min to get help and checkout. Then I pay and she hands me the lipstick sample and receipt. Says there's no bags, yet everyone else that shopped got a bag and there were plenty. It's ok. Now I know better and will go to the macys, nordstrom, Bloomingdale's or ulta counter for help. I had such a terrible time there during my pickup for my online order. Such a terrible experience. I placed an order online for pick up. Upon arriving, I gave them my order number, they were two separate orders. She bought me one bag saying that it was actually returned and I have to re-purchase the all 4 of the items. She asked for my ID and my card and when she came back she told me that she gave me 10% off. I told her that when I placed the order it was for 30% off, she told me at least she gave me 10% off. I walked away frustrated, called their customer service and to confirm that my order were canceled. She confirm that one of my orders were actually delivered today at my home at 12:45 PM and the other one is still ready to be picked up. So I re-purchase four items on top of the ones I ordered online. I tried to return the items to the Mac where I am at and I was told that I could not return it because she gave me that lame 10% off discount. Had to drive to the original store again and explain this whole dilemma. I was so frustrated and lied to. I feel as though that she just wanted to get the sale, aren't I right? I recently went here to buy a couple of staple items. I picked up two black eyeliners and returned 12 different items/containers, empty, to recycle through their back to MAC recycling program, which ends unfortunately March 31. I was passed up by the 2 employees working at the store a few times. I was standing at the cash register for a while before even being acknowledged. Two women came into the store as I had been patiently waiting for the associate to finish up ringing up the customer before me who'd I'd also been standing in back of, in line, for some time. Once the employee was through ringing up the customer in front of me, she didn't bother acknowledging me or thanking me for having waited for so long. She welcomed in the other 2 customers and proceeded to help them before checking with me to see what it might have been that brought me into the store. I was so heated. I ended up having to be THAT customer. I butted into their conversation and let the associate know that I knew what I needed and that I was returning my products for their Back to MAC program and I also knew what I wanted to exchange those items for. She seemed bothered and upset that I'd interrupted her exchange with the other guests. I'm sorry but I'd been standing in line, there, patiently for quite some time. I was NOT going to allow you to ignore me. When the associate finally was in the process of bringing me up, so that I could pay for my two eyeliners, she all of a sudden started to push me to get two of them. I asked her why and she says I don't know why, but they are coming up as being on sale. You should take advantage of it. She was not only very pushy, but she was not very friendly. She also didn't know why there was a sale or why the items were being rung up for a different price than what they usually would be. I used to love coming to the store. Now, worst service ever if you get any at all. I would not be surprised if the store went out of business anytime soon. The Mac brand used to stand for a lot more than this. This is definitely a disappointment. It is no wonder that I stopped coming here a long time ago and it is definitely no wonder now that I will not continue to support this particular store or the people who work here with their poor attitudes and lack of knowledge when it comes to greeting customers or making them feel welcome at all. And to think, had the associate even tried to upsell me on buying more items, I probably would have as I have been very interested in their newly launched skin care items. I couldn't wait to run to my car to write this review. I just went into the store because I have been wanting a blush. I walk in and I smile at the girl at the register. Eventually she comes over to help me and I tell her what I'm looking for. I ask her if it's possible to try on a blush if she says sure, I got you. She then proceeds to take out her brush and just dip it straight into the tester and apply it to my face. i'm a little shocked. I'm 28 years old. I'm a licensed aesthetician and I have been shopping at Sephora and mac since I was 18 years old. I even worked at Sephora before. I couldn't believe that she didn't wipe anything down. She applied the blush kind of harshly against my face so I tried to pat it down but then I proceeded to ask her later if she could do the other side so I don't look weird. I tried to grab the tester super fast and she grabbed it first and said no worries I'll do it and proceeded to grab the same brush dip it back instantly into the powder and apply to my face. I changed my mind about the blush and then was going to get a lip liner. Their system was down and maybe it was my sign but I didn't buy anything from there. I'm looking to report this person. When I was at the register I noticed all her brushes were dirty they had foundation on them or other residue. The customer service wasn't warm or friendly from her. But her male associate was having a blast with one of the other customer that came in. I walked in and was helped by a very nice blonde woman who helped me pick out some brown liners. She was great! I ended up buying two. After about a week and a half of the purchase I tried to get both brown liners to work on me. However one of the colors I just wasn't liking anymore and felt it was too dark for my tone. I loved one shade so I kept that one, but then went back to return the other liner and another brunette woman helped me at this time. Even though they took my email down when I purchased and could see I had purchased it they wouldn't let me return without a receipt. Even though they checked my email and could see that I had purchased it and that was basically a "receipt" but wouldn't let me return?? It didn't make any sense. She kept saying that was store policy and could only exchange, but at this point I didn't want to buy anything else. I like MAC makeup quality, but this is such a dumb and outdated store policy. If I buy something at Sephora and want to return they can easily pull my email and search for the "receipt" even if I don't have the hard copy paper receipt on me. It seems like Mac is just being difficult on purpose or maybe they just haven't caught up to the times??? If they have proof of my purchase then what's the big deal? Recently was invited to an event by MAC to come and get first peek at the new M*A*C x Nikki Minaj line that came out. Wasn't certain on what to expect other than testing some of Nikki's Nudes.....but I left beyond pleased! We did have some wait time....not much (working with customers) ....but all the employees acknowledged us and as soon as they became available we're hands down AWESOME! Fortunately, Kenny spoke to me and helped me find everything that I needed while demonstrating along the way. He really knows his stuff and I appreciate that we has skills for a variety of skin tones. We had lots of fun (at least I did) and I never felt like he was being pushy and trying to sell me stuff. Whatever you do, do NOT let them place an online order for you. I went in for an eyeshadow pan they didn't have and they offered to place an online order for it. A week later I received an email from Mac Cosmetics stating they wouldn't have the product for at least a month so they were cancelling my order. Except when the store placed my online order, they didn't price it as the eyeshadow pan and instead gave it some obscure ###. I called the store and they were confused and told me to call Mac Cosmetics. I called Mac Cosmetics and they said call the store. Can I take away stars? I know this is a chain, but it must be said: ALL Mac Cosmetic stores I have ever been to have TERRIBLE customer service. And I have been to almost every one in LA proper, as well as international counters. They are anti-customer service. At every chain store or restaurant that I have ever worked at included customer service training. I'd love to be a fly on the wall during training for MAC. The directive to new employees goes something like this in my mind: 1. Make sure to not only give off the vibe that you are the only one who knows anything about make up, but also make sure that the customer feels as if they are legally blind, because how in the world would they go out looking like that???? Do they not own mirrors??? Hide your face, HOB-goblin! Build up some good old American body dysmorphia! 2. Don't just ignore the customer, but physically push past them. If they aren't forced to regain their footing, you are giving up your power! 3. If you do end up "making up" a customer, make sure that they look NOTHING like the person that walked in through these hallowed doors. Honestly, MAC make up was the bee's knees in the 90's, but forget buying anything from them. Not only do they have terrible customer service, but their products are now inferior to other brands that have come out. MAC used to be the leader in highly pigmented eye shadow, but Urban Decay has surpassed MAC in color, ease of use and variety. Want a natural look? I love MAC. I bleed it. However, I always leave this location unsatisfied. The guys that work there are actually really nice, as are a few of the girls. I just seem to end up with the girl that looks like a whore with all her red blush (why would you want to buy makeup from a clown) telling me that I need more shimmer. MAC is great company that sells great makeup products. I usually go to this MAC store if i am looking into buying products, however this past weekend, they did have an event going. Event includes free makeup session with a $50 minimum product purchase. i took advantage of the event this time and got my makeup done..boy oh boy did i have an experience... I got to my appointment on time, got seated and my makeup artist approached me and introduced herself... I do not want to mention her name... Long story short, this young lady, wasn't too confident with her work, she kept on asking me how i would like my makeup done, and what else i would like her to do...clearly i was telling what steps to take after each other. I think she would have put me to the door without any mascara on.. The overall look came out to be beautiful, but i did go home and touch it up....regardless i will never change my opinion about Mac and their artists however...they should hire artists that know what they are doing and more confident about the work they do. I went in to take advantage of their Back2Mac program. I picked out 3 lipsticks and an eyeshadow. I went up to the register and the cashier grabbed the display products from me and handed them to another associate to grab the actual products for me. Meanwhile, I got signed up on their client system. I got my products and went on my way. I checked my items and came to realize they gave me the wrong eyeshadow! I went back and explained the situation and were very understanding and let me do the exchange even when it was suppose to be final sale. I'm just not a MAC person. I have one eyeshadow palette and it's cool but it won't make me leave my die-hard favorite, NARS. However, it is my cousin's favorite. And when it came time for her wedding makeup consultation, she asked me to tag alone to make sure they didn't do anything funny. Now MAC is known for really wild and colorful makeup. So considering that, I don't know if the natural look she was going for was really stellar here. She paid $50 for the consultation (she got a free mascara out of it) and after the makeup artist was done, I squinted at her. Hmm, she didn't quite look like herself. I had the makeup artist make a couple of adjustments on the blush and lipstick color so she wouldn't look so weirdly plasticy mauve. Eventually, she came away with, "I love this look and I'm going to buy this lipstick!" Of course, it was raining that day and after a few hours of that plus a round of greasy Korean BBQ, her makeup was still on but decidedly not cute. Good thing that wasn't her wedding day! But yeah, that primer stuff they used under the makeup was amazing. It did make her skin look super smooth and I can see why it's necessary for flawless application. Appointments are recommended if you're going to get your makeup done. They get busy for weddings, proms and other events during the weekend. read more

I'm 31 years old and have never used MAC in my entire life....mainly because I was always intimated to walk into the store and also because I'm not a huge makeup gal. BUT...I needed to feel extra pretty for my work Christmas party because I'm 5 months pregnant and have been feeling like such a dud. I decided to try MAC since my best friends make up always looks fabulous. When I walked in, I was greeted by ZABRINA who ended up doing my makeup. She was very welcoming and accommodating making sure I was comfortable in my chair. Throughout the entire process, Zabrina explained what she was doing, what products she was using, and why she was using them. I really appreciated that since, like previously mentioned, I know almost nothing about makeup. Also, throughout the entire time, other employees were checking in to see if everything was okay...and also to chit chat briefly about my pregnancy since they found out I was having twins. lol everyone was so nice!!!!! I have came here twice to have my make-up done and I have been extremely happy on both occasions. My make-up was done my Patty and she has been amazing! She is extremely sweet and welcoming. If it was just a wee less expensive, M.A.C. would get 5 stars from me. I LOVE their studio fix compact powders, blushes, eyeshadows (which range from the conservative to the Lady Gaga outrageous) and lipsticks. I love me some lipsticks and they alwayyyyys satisfy me in that! Not a huge fan of their mascaras - bit too clumpy. Everything else though is terrific. And, yes, sometimes they may be busy with other customers but you can approach the sales ladies/gents if you need assistance and they will always help you. VIVA LA GLAM! Love, love, love! read more
