Food was really good but not good enough to overcome very poor service. The girls working either have no experience waiting on folk or they just don't care. No water refills, food came out in random spurts, and after we were seated no one came to the table for 10 minutes while there were only two other people dining and 3-4 service staff. Won't be back and would not recommend. read more

We are frequent visitors here & let me tell you; from the moment you walk in you are greeted & seated. The ambiance is always great & friendly, Highly recommended this place. read more

The flavors here are spectacular. Definitely 5 stars. So what makes it only 4 stars??? The place is very cute inside but also crowded unfortunately. And the biggest drawback is the high price of everything. $2-$5 too high for pretty much everything. Chips and salsa were very good. The red salsa is like nothing I've ever had (I will be back!) and the chips are definitely made in house. Thick crunchy and delish. But the price for a small bowl of chips and a little bit of salsa was $8 (should be max $6). The house margarita was $15. It was good, should be max $10. Our meals were really good too. The burrito was a really cool change up and had great flavor. Plus it came with more red salsa! It was $16 and should be more like $14. And 2 enchiladas verde were $20! Should be $16 max. Again - everything was fantastic and we will definitely be back. But we would live here if prices were better. read more

Excellent food and service. Great design. All good except mechanical engineer/contractor. We were at San Marcos sister restaurant shortly after it opened. Hot, hot, hot and I'm talking about temps. Please solve air conditioning problems please!!!!!!!!! read more

Eddie was amazing. Most authentic food we've had since moving here from California. Must try California burrito

I met my companion here as it was halfway between New Braunfels and Austin. And what a find! This is legit Mexican-style seafood. I ordered the chili relleno taco, and it was very cheesy! Also Mexican cokes on the menu and super-juicy Elote. The service was prompt and respectful. The decor is darling, almost had me believing that I was eating in Ensenada! Worth the destination stop and 2x $50 Uber ride! read more

The food was good, the service was great. It was a bit too cold and the music was too loud. They did turn the music down when asked.

Excellent service! Very authentic Mexican style food with terrific flavors! Love the vibe, ambience of this place! Will definitely be a favorite go to when in the area!! From the margaritas to the desserts, absolutely delicious!! read more

Wow! The food here is amazing. We came here our first time for dinner last night and wasn't sure what to expect. But we were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is small and very cute. There is a lovely outdoor area with several tables , we decided to eat outside since the hot day had cooled down a bit. We ordered the tuna tostada and I wish I had 3 more. The flavors were amazing. We also got the elote which were served as lollipops on sticks and were very tasty. My partner ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and I had the chicken salad. Both were very delicious. We plan in going back next week to try more meals off the menu. read more

Beautiful decor but it was hot in the restaurant and the food was bland. My food was presented nicely! Unfortunately, the steak was tough and fatty. read more

My wife and stumbled upon Ma'CoCo on a Wednesday night and we are so glad we did. The ambiance and vibe of the restaurant was so cozy and intimate. We just recently went to Tulum and Ma'CoCo gave us a taste of being on vacation. Our server was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. The food was fresh, creative and balanced. Overall we loved this spot and can't wait to go back! read more

Cute, small spot in Buda! Came here for happy hour. We got the mezcal margarita, paloma, ceviche tostada and salsa sampler. The drinks were strong, for me and the food was pretty solid. Definitely would recommend the ceviche tostada. Service was great as well, but I was the only one there! Would go back for a dinner date. read more

Good food, good cocktails, terrible service. Spent probably an hour total just waiting on the waiter to come help us. Had a party of 9 and each of our dishes and drinks came out 1 at a time. Super slow and awkward. One server while 3 bartenders sat behind the bar read more

Nice decor , food tastes ok, but $8 for chips and salsa with no refills? Price gauging in a small town is gross. Wouldn't be as bad if they would give you another serving like every other Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Was hoping I could come by and just have drinks with girls and snack, but this is pretty ridiculous. I ordered the burrito and it was good but I won't be coming back. read more

If I could give them 10 stars I would! Perfect place for happy hour or date night. We were greeted and seated at our table right as happy hour started on a Friday. The happy hour menu is amazing--with $6 cocktails and food in the $4-$8 range starting. We were pretty full by just the happy hour menu but decided to order a quesadilla of the regular menu. All the food was We'll be regulars here. read more

What a welcomed surprise. The food was beyond excellent. The tuna and cevichie tostadas were incredible. The churro donuts were heavenly. Not to mention the carajillo cocktail...liquid gold. Plus the waitress (livier)was extremely friendly and helpful with menu recommendations. 5 stars ***** read more

Authentic unique and full of flavor. Would highly recommend everything on their happy hour.

This place serves legit Mexican food. Happy Hour is great but make reservations in advance via Open table. Their fish tacos definitely take me back to weekend escapes to Baja from my time living in San Diego. I truly appreciate a handmade tortilla. I would also recommend their tuna tostadas. Pair it with a spicy margarita or a michelada in a hot day. They are open for breakfast which I have yet to try. I also been to their other locations prior to them opening this one (6th St E Austin and Balcón in San Marcos). Buda is definitely the smallest but it's still cozy and the location is convenient. read more

Delicious! Definitely taco al pastor, guacamole and salsas were so good! New favorite place in Buda

Went here for a quick dinner. The building is small which means limited seating, so a reservation for indoors is highly recommended. But they also have a patio which I was able to be seated at immediately. The employees were very friendly and after ordering the food came out very quickly. The food and drinks were delicious! Pictured are the Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos, along with a Mezcal Margarita. All very fresh! They do happy hour all day on Sundays (food and drink items), so definitely be coming back soon! read more

Ma’CoCo - Carne Asada Taco, Al Pastor Taco, Mezcal Margarita - Mexican Near Me - Buda, Texas

The reviews misled us a bit. Yes, it's an adorable spot with a tighter menu like Austin and San Antonio joints offer, but the service and quality of drinks and food is lacking. The drinks were small (short tumblers) and for $15, we expect to at least be able to taste tequila but could not. Also...Tabasco sauce shouldn't be how you add spice to a fruit margarita...do that with infused tequila or even a chile tucked in the drink. The fish tacos were fresh, but lacking in flavor and the elotes were just...okay. "Churro" donuts were...cinnamon a sugar cake donuts. Cute spot, but nothing we'd make a point to stop by again. read more

Best ambiance in a restaurant in Buda! It's a really tiny spot but it is decorated so perfectly! It reminded me of little cafes in Paris (but Mexican themed instead of French themed). The drinks are strong. The inside has mostly 2 tops so I would say it's more of like a date night spot or for a small friendly get together because of the intimate setting. There is an outdoor patio as well. I got the quesadilla and my Mother got the El Pastor taco to find out that she doesn't like El Pastor tacos (i thought the El Pastor was great) The salsa sampler was really good and the churro donuts were surprisingly yummy. All in all I loved it but Mom wasn't quite as impressed however I think she ordered wrong. I hope I can get her to give it another chance at some point. read more

The service was great and it felt like an intimate dining experience, as the inside of the restaurant is small. I definitely recommend going during Happy Hour, drinks and appetizers are delicious. Since visiting San Diego a few years ago, we've been on the hunt for a good California style burrito in Texas. We were so happy when we saw it on the menu with the fries, meat, guac and no beans. Very good! read more

Came for brunch on Easter Sunday. Chili Relleno Burrito and carne and shrimp tacos. Mimosas are small but the Bloody Mary was huge! Service was good, a bit of a wait for your food. Food was amazing and so was the customer service my only complaint is it's not really baby friendly I had a stroller and we were able to put it in the table but the restaurant is a little on the small side so it was tight fit and hard for people to get around. There was another family that came in with a car seat and they had it propped in the booth the restaurant made room for them which again customer service was excellent and so was the food and drinks I recommend the churro donut it only comes with one but super fresh! read more

We came for lunch today, we read good reviews and heard good things about the food. Unfortunately, we did not eat. We arrived 5 minutes early to our reservation to be told that their reservation system is down so they are just winging it. Ok no problem, it happens. We get sat and 15-20 minutes go by without any server. Then they bring water with a dirty glass, immediately take the dirty glass to replace it, never returned with a new glass. We gave our food order with our drink order, assuming that it may take some time, since we didn't know how long it would be when the server returned. 40 minutes later with no word from a server or host, we still did not receive our food. Only a soda in a can. As we got up to let them know that we had to leave soon, their response was, "thats my bad and i will cancel the order." No reassurance of food coming and no apologies. This is a cute little restaurant and they are nice, but the service and wait time did not support a higher than 2 star experience for me. I do hope this doesn't happen to others. We wish MaCocos the best in the future. read more

Ceviche is delicious! Chicken flautas were hard to eat because the chicken was dry and stringy.

Limited menu, but what we had was delicious. Disappointed they didn't serve coffee since we were there for brunch. Service was great. It was a cute, small cafe full of female friends brunching, mostly, but a few families with small children showed up in early afternoon. read more

Finally a place in Buda that makes fresh drinks and food. We had great service even when I asked for the music to be turned down. The food was amazing and so delicious. I ordered the sandwich that came with cilantro mixed in which was my mistake, I should have asked if it had cilantro since it wasn't included on the menu for the item and I'm just one of those weirdos that doesn't like it. The waitress and manager were very sweet to offer to replace it for something else. The mango margarita was incredible as well. I enjoyed the venue, service and food and will definitely be back! read more

We went here tonight and everything was just ok. A little underwhelming after hearing all the hype. Service was good but slow- they were pretty busy so it was fair. Food was ok. We got the ceviche, fish tacos, and burrito. Margaritas tasted good but were pretty weak, which was a bummer considering the price for them. I won't be rushing to come back here. read more
