Pancetta eggs Benedict
Uriel R.

I went to M Henry around 11am on a Sunday. When you first enter the building, it looks like a cute little diner with a grab-and-go counter and a host stand off to the side. Despite it looking pretty busy, we had no wait at all to get a table for two. When you walk further back into the restaurant, it opens up and connects to a much larger space. For food, I ordered the strawberry rhubarb hot cakes. These were delicious, light, and fluffy! The sauce was slightly sweet and paired really well with the hot cakes. I also ordered the pancetta eggs Benedict. The flavors were great and intense, though the texture was very soft throughout each bite. It came with homestyle potatoes which were alright, but I definitely would have liked them a little crispier to help balance out all those soft textures. On the side, I had an iced latte with caramel and oat milk. Taste was alright for a latte but hits the spot if you need a quick pick me up during brunch. Overall, a very good local diner option in Andersonville with great seasonal menu options!

Food was good. I enjoyed the breakfast potatoes although some in our party felt they were pepper heavy... bring on the peppers from my perspective. Felt a little rushed as it was a Sunday morning but overall good. One problem however, the bakery area on the way out. Picked up some cookies that were also gluten free, so good! and the scones looked wonderful. Stay away if you're looking to eat light... lol

Wow--I absolutely loved this place! We were looking for a truly special breakfast experience in Chicago, and this spot delivered perfectly. I ordered the butternut squash soup, which was incredibly delicious, and paired it with a refreshing pomegranate mimosa. My companion went with a classic breakfast of eggs, bacon, and sourdough toast, and we also shared one of their tofu salads, which was excellent. The entire space is so cute, and the super friendly staff made the meal even better. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town!

Food good, but not great. Lots of breakfast options, both sweet and savory. We each had the 2 Benedict offerings (pro tip: ask for extra Hollandaise) and pancakes. Pancakes were a touch dry, but still tasty. Service was the standout, though. Super welcoming, quick with coffee refills, food drop off and bussing. Pretty decent place, tables are close together, which is only something to mention in wintertime (coats, hats, scarves). Love the Andersonville neighborhood, so this is just one of the many amazing local joints.

Food was really yummy and I really like the style of the restaurant. The service is really fast.

M Henry is a very popular brunch spot so be prepared to wait on the weekends as they don't take reservations. We got there around 10:30 with 3 people and we only waited about 10 minutes for a table which was really good! It's pretty big inside and always bustling. They have different types of mimosas as well as all the coffee and lattes. I ended up getting a London Fog, which was very good. For Sunday brunch, they have a separate special menu. I ended up ordering the potato knish benedict off this menu. I'm always so happy when a restaurant serves eggs benedict without meat! The potato knish cakes were yummy and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I think the only thing I would've added next time is avocado! But overall so good and the side salad they give you with the meal is very hearty as well.

Very cute and popular brunch spot in Andersonville! Service was lovely and we thankfully got there early enough (9am Sun) that we didn't have to wait but by the time we left around 11, there was a line out the door. The portion sizes were large and there's plenty of options for everyone to choose from. The food was tasty, but nothing that necessarily blew me out of the water. My favorite out of our dishes we tried were the blackberry blisscakes - the pancakes were soft and the cream in the middle paired perfectly with the fruit. However, the tortillas with some of our other dishes were a little too thick for my taste. Would still go back for a brunch with friends in the future!

Is it just me, or are 95% of breakfast places either coffee and croissants, or something loaded with fats, carbs, and hopefully some proteins. There could be four-and-a-half blueberries on top on the pancakes... but is this really material? No. Enter m.henry. There are two things I enjoyed about the Potato Knish Benedict. First, the hollandaise was enjoyable. Too many hollandaises are heavy on the acid, and light on the savory. m.henry's was towards the savory side, and not disguised lemon juice (or worse, vinegar). Only one other place I've tried thus far has been able to create a passable hollandaise is The Farmer's Daughter down in Easton. I have no complaints about the egg, other than eating them in this and age makes one feel like royalty, but I digress. The Knish cakes themselves were not my cup of tea. They are made of a blend of potato and fontinella cheese. This combination comes across as being sharper than I feel it needs to be. While I appreciate what they were trying to do, this is not a dish I would order again. The star of the show, out of left field, is the salad. The blend of veggies was well thought-out, and I enjoyed both the dressing and the way it was dressed. This salad is what made m.henry feel like a different experience that wasn't all carbs and fats. The vibe inside is that of a cute cafe, but larger. The service was attentive, and surprisingly fast considering how busy the restaurant was at the time. Finally, in light of the cost of everything (especially eggs), I think the prices were more in less in line with the market. Thus, m.henry does a unique breakfast well, the ingredients were quality, and the service was excellent. However, I don't feel the immediate pull to return that a truly great (i.e. 5-star) experience would give me.

This restaurant offered a good and filling vegan option for me, the gluten free mostly vegetarian. My only warning is that the portions are huge - I could have split it with another person, but that's a good problem to have I guess.

When you first come in you can't help but to smell the deliciousness. We were sat as soon as we walked in. They seem to have different specials each day so what you may see on someone's review may not be available when you go. Our server was pleasant. I had Jorge's black bean cakes with chorizo. The only downside to this dish is they didn't put enough chorizo on the tostada. The cinnamon roll French toast, was just that and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast bread pudding because it was all custard. The sweet taste was their but I wasn't expecting ALL custard.

Quiche
Emily T.

I have been wanting to come here for a while and made it out on a Saturday afternoon. No wait so that was great! Service was attentive and very kind. Food was very sub par. I got the quiche and my boyfriend got an omelette. The potatoes were cold and not crispy. Quiche was very flat and greasy. Honestly, I just did not enjoy the food at all, and I thought that it would be a lot more fresh. Disappointing.

Super solid spot! The portions were massive and service was so quick. I loooved the shrimp Benedict and the French toast, my friends also liked their hot cakes as well. We came with a group of around 7 people and didn't have too long a wait! Good for groups or couples, would recommend!

Are the soufflé pancakes a regular item? I don't see them on the menu.

No, it's not on their standard menu; it's a special.

How long is the wait on weekends?

The earlier the better if you don't want to wait. Anything close to noon time and you can forget about it!

How loud is it in here? How are interiors-is there good day light and is it lively or is it cozy?

Is the outdoor patio dog friendly?

Yes, when it's open weather permitting

While looking, we were excited about the non-HH menu because it had some really great things (scallops, lamb, mussels, and more) with fairly reasonable prices. The bartender was friendly and greeted us right away and handed us some menus and gave us a couple minutes to ask questions/place our orders. We decided to start with a HH bottle, shrimp cocktail, and oysters. The food came out in minutes but unfortunately the bartender completely forgot about us. We were hungry so we jumped right into the food w/o napkins, plates or cutlery. When we were more than halfway through, he brought us that stuff, but still no bottle and unfortunately our mouths were full and he dropped it off w/o making eye contact so we couldn't flag him and remind him about our drinks. After about 20 minutes we decided to leave and asked for our check. That's when he realized he forgot and apologized. We said it's fine and paid the bill and left. If it was busy, I could understand but it wasn't - they had literally just opened and there were 6 people in the whole place. Two of which were seated near us at the bar and sounded like vendors pitching something, which is ok I guess - but I'm still confused as to why that would have impeded service. Oh well, it saved us $150 so I'm fine. The menu looks good so I'd maybe try it again if I was in the area but parking and traffic is pretty unbearable so probably not likely any time soon.

The place feels spacious, yet subdued, with very quick and responsive service. The food is quality, but not ostentatious - sandwiches, pasta, fish and chips, etc. I started with the delightful Charred Boulevardier (bourbon and orange), while my friend got a tasty THC drink. My friend said the pasta carbonara was amazing, and I went for the fish and chips (which is one of my favorite things to order and compare). The fish was done perfectly with an incredibly crispy batter, and the chips matched the amazing fries they have at Little Bad Wolf - crispy, slightly charred, and soft in the middle. Both the fish and chips were aggressively seasoned (which I like, but some may find it salty). The "tarter sauce" appeared to be a tarragon cream of some kind. Nice, but not really tarter sauce. And the small serving of cabbage/apple coleslaw was inoffensive and better than most places. I'll definitely be back.

After we sit down, waitress comes with paper menus and one of them is all wrinkled ( no attention to details here) but ok not a biggie. She then gives us a smaller menu with the "Special of the day" which was Branzino BUT she said to us that they only have one so if we want it we should tell her right away ( so two things here; one, we are the only ones in the place but two, how is this a special and you only have 1????) so this isn't a special, this is a leftover ... obviously that's not the route we were to take. Ok so we take a look the menu, ordered some drinks that were good and when she gets back we ordered the tuna tartare, but she says: we are sold out ( at this point there's only one more couple in the place- and remember we were the first ones ... what do you mean you sold out, you mean you didn't even buy/prep this dish for the day ... so we decided no appetizers then and went straight to the main course. So I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the sink is clogged ( I have phobia to clogged sinks, they are disgusting) but whatever.
