    Avocado toast & Irish grits
    Ashley H.

Between the tasty Irish inspired menu with dietary friendly options, lively atmosphere, and beautiful decor, Lady Gregory's is an inclusive neighborhood institution and guaranteed good time! We stopped by for Sunday brunch and it was packed- I would recommend making a reservation during prime time. The staff were very friendly and did not rush our group. For appetizers, we split the cheddar artichoke dip and deviled eggs. Both were flavorful and satisfying. For the main event, I opted for the avocado toast with egg whites alongside Irish grits, which were both super filling and delicious! The grits especially were rich, loaded with cheese, and perfect on a cold day. This is a must order. I loved the buttery bread used for the avocado toast and the generous amount of toppings. I felt that the prices were pretty reasonable given the large portions as well. My only wishlist item is that there were more options for coffee, which was only available as a standard drip. I will absolutely be back soon and look forward to trying more of the delicious looking menu!

    Gluten-Free Fish and Chips

Lady Gregory's brings the vibes of an Irish pub to Andersonville. They've got a lot of space and a beautiful bar in the center of the restaurant. My girlfriend has been wanting to come here ever since she heard they have gluten-free fish and chips. They were fantastic and cooked perfectly. Sometimes you have to worry about soggy fish, but these were crisp and flaky. They were also served on top of delicious French fries. We also ordered the gluten-free wings. They were good not great but it was more of a personal preference as I don't really like meatier drumsticks. Overall, we had a great time dining at Lady Gregory's. Also, bonus points for having a dedicated gluten-free fryer for people with a gluten-allergy or celiac.

Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Bacon Sammich

Stopped by with a friend since we were walking by. Decor was busy, but in a fun, eclectic way. I didn't catch the name of our server, but he could use a refresher on treating all of his customers the same. He clearly was friends with the people at the table next to us and spent most of his time chatting with them. It took forever for us to get water, order, and to get our food, boxes, and check. The food, sadly, wasn't worth all that hassle. I got the Blackened Shrimp (cold, old, and flavorless) and the Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi Soup (decent, but nothing amazing). My friend got their Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Bacon Sammich and it was definitely the best food of the night. This is the only thing I would recommend from here. Would've been a 3 if not for the issues with our server.

THE most packed place in Andersonville during the holidays, reservations recommended, wait without? not terrible, approximately 30 minutes. Staff vibe is so very sweet, and the folks bringing out the food are busting their humps with feats of strength, full trays of meals one handed and delivered table side. Interior and decor really depends upon where you are seated. It's cozy, and festive and an obvious staple in the hood. A shout out to Kora for taking such good care of us. The chicken pot pie was visually impressive and very yummy; and they nailed the sticky toffee pudding.

Really loved this place- Came here on a Sunday night when we just wanted a cozy atmosphere and pub food. This place definitely delivers, and they have really great decorations for all of the holiday. I definitely want to come back around Christmas time! I got the blackened chicken club with sweet potato fries. They served the sweet potato fries with maple syrup, which I thought was really fun. The sandwich was really good! My parents got the burger and the gluten-free fish and chips. The fish and chips were excellent and I would definitely order those the next time I go here! Service was great (I tried a mocktail and didn't like it at all, but she took it off the bill, which was really nice) and overall, I loved this place!

Cannot recommend Lady Gregory's enough! One of my favorite neighborhood spots for sure and an absolutely excellent choice for a cozy night, especially in the winter. Hospitality is warm and inviting from the moment you walk in, even at busy times. I had a wonderful evening with a friend sat at the bar and given spot-on recommendations for drinks and delicious food. The bar is stocked exceptionally, well with a wide variety of spirits, beers, and wines as well as a seasonally curated cocktail menu! I had the french onion soup and a side caesar - easily one of the best french onion soups in Chicago. My friend had the chicken pot pie and it was heavenly! The two of us enjoyed a few glasses of the Cousino-Macul Cabernet Sauvingon, a beautifully medium bodied Chilean red with a 2017 vintage making for a fruity and warm wine for the winter. We just so happened to be there at the perfect holiday moment, surrounded by twinkling lights, golden ornaments, and garland galore; Ol' St. Nick himself even made an appearance and made the rounds to the joy of all.

Irish Coffee and LOS DOS D.O. CAVA Spain NV
    Andrew D.

My wife asked me where I wanted to celebrate my birthday. I've always had extremely positive experiences at an Andersonville favorite, Lady Gregory's. Sunday was not one of those days. The weather was brisk with a negative wind chill. We arrived around 1:30 pm after walking several blocks. The hostess greeted us with a smile and showed us several tables before choosing one by the front windows off the street. Our server, Javier, came to our table and pulled up a seat and leaned in to hear and take our orders. Since it was chilly outside I opted for a hot drink, Irish Coffee. My wife ordered a glass of LOS DOS D.O. CAVA, Spain. The Irish coffee arrived at our table tepid. Not an auspicious start to our meal. I ordered the Irish coffee because we just came in from the cold. A hot drink was what I needed to warm my chilled bones. I was able to get Javier's attention and I asked him to please warm up my drink. I assumed since it was a coffee drink Javier would make a fresh pot of coffee and redo my drink to heat it up. He did not. When he returned several minutes later the glass was slightly warmer, but the coffee was still cold. Very disappointing. We ordered an appetizer and soups to start our meal. We chose DEVILED EGGS made with Thai chili oil and garlic chips. Outstanding! This is always a favorite of ours. My wife ordered a bowl of Cavalier Nero. It's made with a lite chicken broth, mixed vegetables, and lightly seasoned. My wife enjoyed this soup special and was pleased when it came to the table steaming. I ordered the French onion soup. Wow! This soup was a cold, soggy mess. I've had this soup here in the past. Today it was flavorless, cold, and the broth and onions were soggy. Very disappointing. For our entrees my wife ordered the classic burger with bacon. The classic burger was topped with lettuce, pickle, tomato, ketchup, and caramelized onion. The burger was cooked medium rare and came with fries. The caramelized onions were a cold glob on top of the burger. Next time she will ask to substitute raw onions in lieu of caramelized onions. The French fries did not taste fresh. The fries tasted stale and had probably been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Which is ironic because they were cold. I ordered my standby favorite, chicken pot pie. The chicken pot pie was prepared with roast chicken, onions, carrots, celery, potatoes, peas, chicken cream gravy, and a pastry crust. Again, my entree was not hot. Extremely disappointing. The pot pie was tepid and soggy. For dessert we ordered another round of drinks and cobbler with an extra scoop of vanilla ice cream. I ordered an Old Fashioned made with bourbon, demerara, and bitters. It was better than the Irish coffee. My wife ordered a MAPLEWOOD SON OF JUICE a Juicy India Pale Ale made locally and canned in Chicago. The cobbler lacked flavor and was colder than the ice cream that it was served with. The interior of the dessert should have been piping hot, but was cold. The crust had a slight butter flavor but somehow didn't add anything to the apples, or vanilla ice cream. The vanilla ice cream was served cold and had a pleasant vanilla flavor to it. The only thing on the menu served correctly today was the two scoops of vanilla ice cream. My wife mentioned to the server it was my birthday. He stated "you should have told me earlier". Overall, I cannot recommend Lady Gregory's. In the past my experiences have always been positive. Today my experience was negative and highly disappointing. Also, a 2.90% universal service charge was added to our bill. Yes it is stated at the top of the menu; however, there is no indication what the charge is regarding. Is it a charge for using a credit card, or is there another purpose for this charge? The bill, including a 20% tip and 2.9% universal service charge came to an astounding 180. I understand there is a premium price to dining out. I get that I chose to dine here. However, the unwritten contract between the restaurant and customer is they provide a high quality of food and service and in exchange I pay for that quality. The quality and service were not present when I dined at Lady Gregory's today. What a shame! To quote Tony Robbin's, "Customers are willing to pay a little more for the assurance of quality and reliability". Today Lady Gregory's did not live up to the "assurance of quality and reliability" regarding our dining experience.

Jamie W and I visited Andersonville one evening because we heard it was Chicago's primary LGBTQ neighborhood, that is, if you're not a post-pubescent Boystown club hopper. We assumed the area skewed older, which was fine by us since we skew in that direction ourselves. Somewhere between the lushly lesbian Nobody's Darling (review: https://yelp.to/ua8AJVTI8S) and the gamefully gay Meeting House Tavern (review: https://yelp.to/3-VnJ1hz3w), we made a pitstop here. Unlike the other two bars, this place felt rather staid. It's a very traditional Irish gastropub with servers in matching polo shirts. It was a perfectly decent bar, just not quite the vibe we were looking for that evening if you know what I mean. Quite crowded with Cubs fans watching the flatscreens, we still stuck around at their secondary bar sipping $13 Espresso Martinis (photo: https://yelp.to/UQlri-oXNl) and even nibbling on a $9 order of Deviled Eggs (photo: https://yelp.to/3oEfxjyxM4). It was all good, but we moved on quickly to seize the big gay night. COCKTAILS / FOOD - 3.5 stars...just fine, no complaints AMBIANCE - 3 stars...a very straight, upright bar SERVICE - 3 stars...minimal contact TOTAL - 3 stars...rather generic experience all things considered RELATED - Exploring Chicago? Chicken Pot Pie

A fantastical homey classic bar serving comforting fare. Off Andersonville's main strip. I was recommended to stop by here for the burgers and wasn't disappointed in the trip. The bar has that vintage British library vibe and I want to just stay and read a murder mystery. Chicken pot pie: Delish and warming as autumn ends and we start winter proper. Instead of a pie crust, puff pastry is used. I love this trend since it provides a lighter crunchier topping. The filling has the classic flavor and hits the spot. Gastro Burger Saucy, crunchy, meaty, juicy, which description doesn't capture this burger? An elevated take on a classic. The only complaint is that it will get soggy when it's cold, that just means you need to finish it. The staff was charming and prompt on the refills and checking on us. Overall a great date space.

Lady Gregory's Irish Pub is located in Uptown Chicago. We were visiting just before St Patrick's Day ... because IYKYK ... there is not a single spot you can find anywhere on the actual holiday weekend! We had a great experience! Our server was amazing. She recommended to us very delicious drinks and food for dinner. My cocktail "The Golden Sage" was so good! Very flavorful! My daughter ordered the "Irish Hot Toddy" because it was pretty cold on that evening, and she felt drinking something warm. She also liked her drink, too. We both ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage special for St Patrick's Day, and OMG ... it was delicious! The corned beef was tender and tasty, but not salty like in many other establishments. Dinner was delicious and satisfying! But who wouldn't want dessert? We decided to share the "First Slice Pie" Key Lime Pie ... AND, it was the best key lime pie I have ever had! It was amazing!
