Itty bitty Irish bar. Usually filled with cops or firemen. Assorted women with claddagh rings, mostly taken women. Most people are 35+, scattered youngin's may stop by. Cute bartender. Tip well, she'll usually make them pretty stiff. Daily specials and they have bar food.

Great local irish pub. The bartenders are all great and very friendly. The place is usually full of regulars. No hipsters which is nice.

Our party was four adults and two young adults (old teenagers). We were seated right away and greeted by our server. We ordered drinks and Curry Chips. The Curry Chips were so good. My son devoured them and still talks about them. I had the Reuben, it was fantastic. My hubby had a burger as did my ex-hubby. My son had the quesadilla and my daughters ordered a burger and the corned beef press. Everything was delicious and the serving sizes were great. My daughters' friends showed up when were done eating and joined us for a beer. They had no issues accommodating us and adding a couple beers to or tab. I look forward to eating at O'Shaughnessy's again when we are in the area visiting my daughter.

I most recently visited with a friend and our kids and we got some sausage rolls for the babies (they seemed to like them--the flaky pastry especially, in my little one's case), as well as some nachos with pulled pork. That was probably my favorite part of the meal, to be honest; they were delicious. My friend got the shepherd's pie and I chose a Rueben. I wasn't disappointed in the Rueben--it was luckily not very fatty--but I chose hastily when since I hadn't been reading the menu very closely and would choose something else next time since there are lots of places that I can get a Reuben, but some of their other things are a bit more niche. I've also been here once for brunch, with All Saints' (the church calls it "the annex"). Their brunch is good too so if you're looking for one in the area definitely consider O'Shaughnessy's.

We went to the Gracie O'Malley's near Six Corners previously, but this was our first visit to the Edgewater - Clark Street location (formerly the site of the Norse Bar). This location does not serve food, but we just wanted a beer anyway. Thanks to the handy dandy Yelp check-in, we somehow received a free shot each, so I got to try some Tullamore Irish whiskey! We did not get to try out the free popcorn with an assortment of seasonings, but if we were staying a bit longer, I would have had a go at it. All in all, it was a pleasant excursion. Good drinks, different screens showing sportsball, the bartender was a nice chap, and hey they have outlets at the bar so you can top off your mobile device after hours of walking! Perhaps you may run into a friendly dog, or a group painting session when you visit.

Hospitality is warm and inviting from the moment you walk in, even at busy times. I had a wonderful evening with a friend sat at the bar and given spot-on recommendations for drinks and delicious food. The bar is stocked exceptionally, well with a wide variety of spirits, beers, and wines as well as a seasonally curated cocktail menu! I had the french onion soup and a side caesar - easily one of the best french onion soups in Chicago. My friend had the chicken pot pie and it was heavenly! The two of us enjoyed a few glasses of the Cousino-Macul Cabernet Sauvingon, a beautifully medium bodied Chilean red with a 2017 vintage making for a fruity and warm wine for the winter. We just so happened to be there at the perfect holiday moment, surrounded by twinkling lights, golden ornaments, and garland galore; Ol' St. Nick himself even made an appearance and made the rounds to the joy of all.

We stopped by for Sunday brunch and it was packed- I would recommend making a reservation during prime time. The staff were very friendly and did not rush our group. For appetizers, we split the cheddar artichoke dip and deviled eggs. Both were flavorful and satisfying. For the main event, I opted for the avocado toast with egg whites alongside Irish grits, which were both super filling and delicious! The grits especially were rich, loaded with cheese, and perfect on a cold day. This is a must order. I loved the buttery bread used for the avocado toast and the generous amount of toppings. I felt that the prices were pretty reasonable given the large portions as well. My only wishlist item is that there were more options for coffee, which was only available as a standard drip. I will absolutely be back soon and look forward to trying more of the delicious looking menu!
