I do miss going to Carols sometimes, such a good neighborhood spot with live music and a great HH....the food is solid, loved the chicken tendies, not breaded, basically grilled chicken, so good, service was great...The HH Margs are great for the price too. We had a blast chillin' and listening to the band...good times.

Thank you, Carol's Pub, for being an amazing spot for our weekly Friday night happy hours! My friends and I always look forward to the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff who consistently make us feel at home. Recently, we brought a larger group for a friend's birthday, and the team went above and beyond to make it special--we even got to decorate! The happy hour deals are unbeatable, and the entertainment, lively vibe, and delicious food make it a standout venue. Highly recommend Carol's for anyone looking for great food, great people, and a great time! Can't wait for our next visit!

This place wasn't what I expected and it was fantastic! I came here on a holiday Monday afternoon and while quiet initially, it allowed me to enjoy some of their great pub food. The wings were exceptional and I also enjoyed their house made chips. Later in the afternoon, the crowd picked up and it was a fun atmosphere. Enjoyed the country music and the bartenders were super friendly. Look forward to going here again and perhaps do some line dancing!

Nice place! Good drinks, they also have live music all country $10 cover. Wasn't our vibes but we were curious and it wasn't bad.. it would a great place to go with a big group thar like live country music.

Formerly a super dive bar and now it's kind of a trendy hipster bar but it still has charm. It's not as fun as it used to be but it's cleaner thankfully. Carol's Pub is a long time favorite for drinks and music. One of the big changes is there's food, and some of it's actually good. The prices have gone up as a result but you can still find some cheaper things and it's still not that expensive considering everything and quality. A lot of history about this bar. It's been around since 1972, and had a long list of musical performances. They play mostly country stuff. It's not my preference. They do play other stuff though. Some alternative and other hip music. There was recently a surprise appearance by countryish alternative band Wilco. Last time we got drinks and food. We were impressed. It's about $10 for a house specialty cocktail. The Carol's Cooler was the best of these. Light and refreshing. This was made with blackberries, Few gin, mint, and soda. As for the food, we got a Soft Pretzel. It's $11 for a big one covered in salt. Had to shake this off. Pretzel was still good after that. Food otherwise is greasy. There's burgers and that kind of stuff. Come for drinks, food, and music. It plays mostly country but there's other things. The act sometimes is famous, or was famous or whatever.

This place rocks. There is a cover (never a fan of a cover), but the music was great. Our server was awesome. Food was surprisingly good for a bar. It wasn't crazy expensive, and they let me dance which is so awesome of them because I'm so terrible at dancing that I often ruin the vibes for everyone else! I highly recommend. P.S. the lighting makes everyone look phenomenal.

Recently booked Carol's Pub for a special birthday bash and everything was GREAT! From the food, service, drinks, to the music on the stage. What a grand booking. Loved working with Lauren!

I live a couple blocks away from carols and feel so lucky to have such a wonderful "neighborhood" bar. I seriously treat this place as a second home with my best friend and her 2 kids. Some of the staff has gotten to know us and loves to entertain and chat with the kids (if they're not busy, of course). Food & drink: They have excellent bar food. I personally love their pretzel with cheese because they use merkts cheddar cheese. They also use this on their burgers and my fiance & dad love the burger! (I'm not a burger person). The drinks are as expected for a neighborhood bar and are very inexpensive for the city . I honestly go here 1-2 times a week. I never thought I'd be a regular anywhere but I think it's safe to say I am. It's definitely making me feel more attached to this neighborhood.

Ask the Community - Carol's Pub

Can we bring family members under 21 during the afternoon, to share the dining experience with us?

Yes you can. I believe the cut off is 6:30-7:00 pm. We have been there and folks do bring the little ones in. I would call about the end time as I am not totally sure.

    Is there a cover?

I have never paid one. Maybe for certain shows? But I don't think so.

I scanned the QR code and went to the bathroom. As I walked back there, I noticed there were 4 open spots at the bar and there were 6 2-top tables set up, which was confusing because there was a 45 minutes wait. Walking back from the bathroom I thought I would ask the bartender if the seating at the bar was also reserved by through the waitlist. I walked up ( did not attempt to sit down as that part of the bar was not clean) and the bartender started rudely saying "have you spoken to the host " I said yes but I had a question, and she continuously said " you have to speak to the host." I told her that I just had a question for her then she rudely said again "sometimes we use this as seating so-rry." My partner and I decided to leave after that. I had never been treated that way in my life. I open my mouth to say something and I couldn't because I was rudely interrupted. I felt like I was hurried out of the area. After being here countless times before and exploring the menu with friends and family, I don't think I will ever come back as this left a bad taste in my mouth. It's hard to go back when you feel you were discriminated against. My partner and I felt like we were that night as the attitudes and behaviors from the bartender and hostess were rude.

After leaving the symphony, we wanted somewhere nearby to grab a meal and have a good conversation, so we ended up at Miller's Pub at 134 S. Wabash. My colleague had made a reservation, but honestly, it didn't seem necessary, you can easily walk in. Miller's Pub is a longtime Chicago staple, and we were seated quickly. The space is much larger than it appears, with a classic Irish pub feel and an antique charm that gives it a lot of character. Our server was enthusiastic, attentive, and very accommodating throughout the night, which we appreciated. Food-wise, we ordered a variety of dishes. I kept it simple with a salad topped with carrots and chicken, it was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. One of my colleagues ordered a chicken sandwich, and another got what might have been the most massive fish tender I've ever seen. If I ate fish, I definitely would've tried it, and she said it was really good. Unfortunately, what really impacted our experience was the atmosphere. There was a choir conference happening nearby, and a large group of attendees came into the pub and started singing, loudly and continuously, throughout the evening. While it was entertaining for the first couple of songs, it quickly became overwhelming and disruptive. It didn't seem like other patrons were enjoying it either, there was little to no engagement or applause, and I found myself wishing the staff had stepped in to tone things down a bit. I understand that a bar environment can bring in all kinds of energy, but this went on far too long and really took away from the experience we were hoping to have. Based on the food alone, I'd give Miller's Pub 3 out of 5 stars. But factoring in the overall experience, it's closer to a 2.5 out of 5 for me.

I had been wanting to try Industry Ales when it opened and was glad to have had the opportunity to finally check it out! I was slightly thrown off, as the dining tables are at the front of this space, and the bar is all the way at the back. In fact, my friend at first glance thought it was a sit-down dining establishment sans bar seating. We found our way to the bar and posted up at two seats. We were offered menus right away and found the bartender extremely knowledgeable. This was super helpful when facing down an encyclopedia of ales. He offered samples when we explained what we were looking for. That is service above and beyond, especially on a bustling Friday early evening. The brews were tasty, but I couldn't really discern what I was drinking apart to say it was a lighter Belgian Ale. Wine is more in my wheelhouse, but always good to change things up, especially when a person has the opportunity to be guided by an expert. The people seated nearby had ordered the tuna tartare which looked delicious. In fact, all of the menu is globally influenced (think: pizza samosas, pierogis, Korean BBQ) in addition to the classic brewpub favorites. In addition to the Brewpub, this location features the Millroom, a speakeasy-style lounge. I did not have a chance to check that out on this visit.
