Another great selection for Restaurant Week 2025. Let me get this off my chest before I dive into the food and service. This space use to be the Bongo Room. I was not a fan of the front room and this has not changed. There is a lovely bar area and in the main window is a table that seats 10 people, then two four top tables in the space. The problem with this set up is the addition of two four top tables in this small space. I will not speak for the folks at the other table, but our table was not ideal. Tala should really consider not having a table next to the bar. The table itself was a nice size to accommodate our dishes, which is important for me. The placement of the table is what knocked this review down to four stars. As you can see from one of the photos, we were in direct line with the front door opening and closing. While there was a small heater next to our table, the door closing and opening created a wind tunnel directed at us. As there is no space for people to wait after checking in at the hostess stand (which is literally a small desk at the door as you walk in), we had people standing near and around our table. At one point I had to gently push a woman away from the wine stand as she was about to tip it over as she was moving back to speak to someone in her party. Thanks goodness the food and the service was on point because the seating arrangement sort of put a damper on our experience, although The Doctor went to the back and stated next time we will request to sit back there. Now on to the food. I started with the mussels in a lovely chipotle cream sauce. That sauce was crazy good and great for dunking the bread into. I have never had steamed mussels in a cream sauce and I would do that again. The sauce had a lovely flavor profile that was weirdly flavorable, but did not overpower the taste of the mussels. My BFF #1 got the Homemade labneh and shishito peppers and left no crumbs behind. That plate was clean. The Doctor got the Roasted cauliflower with fresno peppers and a salsa macha; again no crumbs were left behind. For dinner, I got the Allen Brothers Prime steak with potatoes. If you are not familiar with Allen Brothers meat, you are in for a treat. This was prepared well and at the temperature I requested. The dish itself was simple, but well executed. The potatoes were nicely seasoned and the sauce that came with it was a nice complement. My BFF got the filet mignon with green beans and said that it was cooked to the correct temperature that he ordered. I tried some of the green beans and they were very good, fresh and had a nice crisp to them. The Doctor got the Ahi Tuna. There was a mix up as his plate came out with Tuna but nothing else. It was sent back and the issue was rectified. The Doctor said that the tuna was well prepared and tasty, and that the rice it came with was very good. Dessert was pretty standard as far as that goes. Other than the mix up with the tuna, the service was great. At one point I went to the ladies room and ran into one of the servers, who complimented me on my outfit for the night and proceeded to show me to the ladies room. We chatted for a bit and by the time I got back to the table, we had glasses of tequila, the good kind, sent to us. That was a lovely touch. This could have been a better experience for us, and we were all in agreement, that Tala needs to reconsider having no dining tables beyond the large one in the window, in that main room. People coming in need to be able to stand somewhere to wait to be seated, just not in the face of people dining. I could see having small bistro tables in that room to allow people to sit and have a drink while waiting to be seated. There could be a larger hostess stand where our table was, to allow people to come inside and check in. Just some suggestions to consider

Been here twice so far one for brunch and once for dinner. Wonderful place friendly service very nice outdoor garden and great food The brunch is amazing! Very flavorful and delicious mid eastern touch that you can't find elsewhere in the city like hallpumi with pesto and home made labneh and the omelette is super delicious- Dinner was excellent too with of great seafood and steak! Wish they would add a mid eastern main dish too The rice pudding is amazing! Will come back!

Chimichuri (sp?) style shrimp and potatoes over the most buttery mashed potatoes!

Let me start by saying that this space used to be The Bongo Room and was one of my favs so I wasn't super thrilled to give a new establishment in the same space a real open minded chance. Well, as luck would have it, I was lured there by a friend and I'm so glad I was. The second I had my first sip of the spicy mezcal cucumber concoction Edgar, the bartender made for me, I was hooked! We sat at the bar which was absolutely charming. The staff was extremely warm and hospitable. We ordered the shosito peppers and they were a delightful charred treat and there was a cracker bread served with it that blew me away. Next up was a tuna tostada. Sounds okay, right. It was spectacular. The flavors were just beyond. Last and possibly my favorite was this chimichuri style shrimp served over these buttermilk potatoes that was so soulful and special, I wanted to lick the plate. We had a fig rimmed margarita as well as a traditional margarita and all of them were exceptional. I was really pleasantly surprised and can't wait to go back. Do yourself a favor and stop in so you too can get over your grudge over the bongo room's departure. It's a new day in a new place and I'm here for it!

Such an amazing place and I will definiteky be back! The Mixologist Edgar is amazing with the drinks!!! He made me different mocktails and they were so good I can drink em all night! I ordered the Skirt steak it was seasoned and cooked perfectly as requested. My friend ordered the Seabass and i fell inlove and Im still thinking abt it. I would need to go back to and get it soon! The Tuna Crudo Tostada was a surprise coz i steer clear of raw but i would have this again. .the place has a patio and it seems small when u walk in but its really spacious at the back. Servers were all amazing and took care of us. Must try place!

Wow! They have only been open two months and are already knocking it out of the park. We were so lucky to visit on a perfect summer evening. The patio is intimate and creates a beautiful backdrop to enjoy the food that is to come. I especially loved the garden fixed to the walls behind the tables. It was so hard to order because everything sounded amazing. We ended up going with the elote to start and a margarita. For my main I had the filet mignon which was perfectly cooked. The food came out quickly. Random other positives: - I especially loved that we never felt rushed. -Parking was easy to find. -The prices were very reasonable given the quality It would have been fun to learn a little more about the restaurant/menu when we sat down. I knew very little about the place/chef before coming (just that the food would be great). .

Came for the fish. Left with the filet mignon. Lordy... it was perfect. I got a side of potatoes. You could taste the red wine reduction but not in a bad way in a ... they made this to order. I ate every single bite and did not feel stuffed.

Beautiful patio ( be warned patio seating on a first come first serve basis only so you can't make a reservation out there ). Service was good, food was very good. Restaurant was LOUD. Not sure exactly what the acoustic issue was , but it was hard to hear my dining partners in the dining room. Our group of 6 started with the Halloumi ( delicious), beet salad ( also delicious) and cauliflower ( yep, also delicious again ) Was very happy with my Cesar salad made light with Greek yogurt dressing and grilled chicken .Husband really enjoyed the sea bass but portion was quite small . Loved the BYOB ( this policy could change soon as restaurant is quite new). Prices were reasonable and fair. Would go back if I could snag a patio spot ....

Stacked unapologetically high, this burger is everything you want and more: juicy, perfectly seared patties layered with melty cheese, crispy bacon, and those golden, crunchy fried onions that take it completely over the top. Every bite is rich, savory, and just messy enough to remind you you're eating something seriously good. The toasted bun somehow holds it all together (barely), soaking up every bit of flavor without getting lost in the chaos. And then... the shoestring fries. Thin, crispy, golden perfection--light but addictive, with that ideal crunch that makes it impossible to stop at just one (or ten). They're the kind of fries you keep reaching for without even realizing it, especially dipped in that creamy, tangy sauce on the side. And let's not forget the drinks--just as good as the food. Refreshing, perfectly balanced, and the kind you sip slow while taking it all in (but somehow they disappear way too fast). It's not just a burger--it's one of Chicago's most iconic bites for a reason. Bold, indulgent, and absolutely worth every single napkin you'll need after. The ambiance inside is GORGEOUS!

Loved the 90s female R&B playlist they had going! Little Bad Wolf has been on my list FOR YEARS to try the burger! My husband got the burger with fried onions and I got some Bao because those also looked delicious and were a popular menu item. Honestly the 3 stars are only that high because of the service. Our server was friendly and attentive + the food came out hot and quick. Unfortunately, the food was pretty disappointing. The burger was swimming in a puddle of grease and just picking it up made your hands greasy + was dripping grease. The fries that came with it were floppy, soggy, and sad...but at least warm? I personally wouldn't order this again. The Bao were better, but small for the price and honestly were just okay? It was nice they gave you sauces you could add, but I found the Bao's to already have enough sauce so I didn't need them. Overall I left feeling confused and disappointed. I don't feel the need to come back here - Little Bad Will was a one and done experience for me.

For an extra $15, it made sense to order the prix fixe menu with the wine pairings. A cocktail likely would have cost more. The soup and salad were delicious and paired perfectly with great wines. Also paired with a great dessert wine-- possibly the only dessert wine I have ever really liked! Yes the portions are a little smaller for restaurant week, but with four courses I was happy to not feel like a glutton at the end. Incredibly thoughtful and knowledgeable service made this a great choice for dinner. The space is well laid out too. It was more than enough food , but I would like to return to try their cheeses, and larger portions. I am not a fan of most chips, but these were so good, and the pimento cheese was savory , spreadable and very good. The prosciutto flatbread was a mixture of sweet cream and savory. The salt from the prosciutto and the sweetness from the figs was perfect. Our waiter overheard us mentioning an upcoming special occasion and treated us to a slice of cheesecake topped with berry sauce. The cheesecake was so fluffy and the chevre cheese was creamy and had a touch of goat flavor. Uvae lived up to my expectations and we will return.

We are lucky to have a wide range of cuisine options near our place in Andersonville, and now we can add Turkish-Georgian fusion to our regular rotation. We had a wonderful meal there--I took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu and ordered cioppino. Half the time I order seafood in a restaurant, I end up with rubbery shrimp and tasteless fish. Not at Oda. Their seafood stew was filled with great stuff. My wife had tokat chicken, which she also enjoyed. The humus, Khachapuri, salad and dessert flight were also excellent. It would be fun to go there with a group. It's an ideal place for a shared-plate night out with friends. But there is one thing--like most restaurants in the city, the tables are close together, which is totally fine. We're not looking for Applebee's-type table separation when we go out. Even when you get a table a few inches between two others, it takes about 30 seconds to isolate your own conversation and enjoy your meal, unless you're next to a table where the diners are essentially yelling at each other. I'm not talking about a couple fighting about money or a bunch of 30-somethings getting rowdy on Moscow mules and umami burgers during a night out without their kids. I'm talking about two people yelling--in a friendly way--about the most mundane subject of all: their coworkers. We noticed as soon as we sat down but by the time we considered asking to be moved, the three tables nearby were filled. No big deal. It was kind of entertaining, in an eardrum-splitting way. Their conversation was shockingly loud. And not just the statements, like "SHE THINKS SHE'S IN LINE FOR HIS JOB," but also the brief conversational acknowledgements, like "YEAH! FOR SURE!" It was like sitting next to dueling car alarms. If you're familiar with Pee-Wee's Playhouse, picture the obnoxious salesman who loudly blah-blah-blahs his way to a quickly slammed door, courtesy of Mr. Herman, but two of them whose faces are two feet apart. And we had no door to slam. All that being said, this isn't a knock on the restaurant at all. And since Oda is so close and so good, we'll be back. And hopefully by then, Josh from accounting figures out how to use Smartsheet--"RIGHT? IT'S RIDICULOUS!"--so if we do end up next to the Decibel Duo, we'll have a new workplace dilemma to listen to.

The Paella Negra came with green peas, mussels, calamar, pulpo, and langostines. They use squid ink to make the rice black. I ate paella twice when I visited Barcelona, and this version is the most similar to what I had in Barcelona. Not quite there yet but hopefully I can find something locally. This version I will say was really tasty. The euro bacon was probably my wife's favorite. Stuffed dates wrapped with bacon. The queso de cabra was one of my favorites. Love the bread and the goat cheese inside the tomato basil sauce. And the patatas bravas. It's really hard to mess this one up. Everyone does these different, some make it a little spicier, some add aioli, here they offer two versions. One with aioli and the other with the spicier paprika sauce that isn't too spicy. They should swap out the paprika to cayenne. And they only offer one version and that is with both the aioli and the spicy sauce in the same dish. It's super cute and cozy on the inside- there isn't much seating, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. It's neither too loud nor too quiet, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. My friend and I stopped by for restaurant week, and for 3 courses at $40 it was a great deal! For drinks, we started with the Queen Bee and Flying High. I absolutely loved the first- the ginger was super unique and very crisp. There was complimentary homemade focaccia and white bean dip to start, which was both a huge bonus and possibly the best bread I've had in a minute! The bean dip especially was so flavorful and unique. We split the carciofo (artichokes in lemon butter) and meatballs with polenta to start. The artichokes were bright and not too heavy. I think the meatballs could've had a little more flavor, but they were tender and the polenta was very smooth and creamy. For mains, we split the chicken parmigiano and rigatoni alla buttera. The chicken was ultra crispy and the marinara was exceptionally flavorful. The rigatoni was rich and meaty with very tender sausage. We really enjoyed both and had a ton of leftovers. We ended with the tiramisu, and I've never had one so light and creamy yet rich. Already looking forward to returning and can't recommend Regalia highly enough!

Regalia is a must visit restaurant whenever you're in Edgewater!…read more Regalia has managed to blend the vibe of a small neighborhood restaurant with high end cuisine. This is the perfect date night spot. I highly recommend making a reservation because Regalia is typically busy. During the warmer months they have outdoor dining so the restaurant is even busier. They typically reserve the bar area for walk-ins but it's not promised you won't have to wait to get seated. My go-to dish is the Chicken Parmigiano but I recently had the Rigatoni alla Buttera and it has become my new favorite dish. I've also been able to try the Rigatoni Ragu Alla Rustico and it's also delicious. Truly you cannot go wrong with any of the dishes. The food is priced similarly to other Italian restaurants in the area. The dishes are large so you could easily get two meals from your order. The thing I love the most about Regalia is that the food is consistently good. It's hard to find a place that invests in quality food and creating an atmosphere. The manager / owner will periodically walk around the restaurant and check-in with customers to see how everything is going. The one con is Regalia tries to optimize their space so the tables are tightly packed into the restaurant. It sometimes feels like you're dining with the table next to you because the tables are so close. If you're someone that needs to use the restaurant frequently don't sit in the inner chair because you almost have to shift your table over to get through. Overall, I love visiting Regalia!
