I'm so glad I finally went here! This has been on my list for forever and I planned it for my birthday dinner. The service was outstanding and they were very attentive. They were also really good with allergies in my family has a lot so that was really helpful and made us feel good with the kitchen. We tried a lot of different dishes! We got the tater tots, the focaccia, the arugula salad, the market salad, and the carrots to share. Then I tried the burger and the chicken. Finally, we had the strawberry shortcake and the cookies with malted milk and they also gave me some confetti cookies with a candle! Tater tots were fine, but in my opinion, nothing crazy although I did love the carrots and all of the salads are extremely fresh since everything is farm to table and locally sourced. They even have a greenhouse on campus that you can tour during the day. The burger was amazing- very unique flavors and again tasted so fresh! I also loved the chicken. The cookies and malted milk was insane. The only miss was the strawberry shortcake- really big basil flavor and just was too much. It's kind of in a random location so I would have to really plan to go here, but I love that they changed their menu constantly and I definitely want to try brunch! They also gave me a birthday menu for my birthday and I thought that was a great touch! Just a super relaxing place and my whole family loved it. Cocktails were great too and again used all natural flowers & herbs! read more

What an amazing place! We were a party of six celebrating a few birthdays and everyone enjoyed their meals. They were very sensitive to my gluten-free needs. Some people had brunch and some enjoyed lunch. I had the green coconut curry, and it was amazingly delicious. Just the right amount of heat. The fruit salad side dish had a very good variety of different fruits. Everyone loved the potatoes. When I asked if they were gluten-free, they informed they were not but they'd see what they could do. They came out later with a huge bowl of gluten-free potatoes. So delicious and they really went the extra mile. Other things I love about this restaurant is that they use local produce and I believe they have their own garden as well. They also had a meal that day that you could order and would benefit a local nonprofit. Highly recommend this place! Not only was the ambience great but they have several rooms, two of which you can reserve for a private party, and they also do weddings in a larger area on the property. Leslie, if you go to the back where they have one of their bathrooms, they have several small gift items available. read more

We were touring a venue nearby and smelled some yummy food and decided to swing by to try. Their vegetables are all sourced or grown in their green house. The arugula salad (esmee) is very good as well as the hummus with pita. I was disappointed with the burger since it had too many ingredients clashing with one another for attention. The service was really good and ambiance was very nice for a date night. read more

I was delightfully surprised with my experience at Eden. I went in with no expectations but loved every minute of the food and ambiance. What brought me more joy was the fact that they use everything locally sourced! Highly recommend the wood-fired carrots for entrées, cashew-e-pepe bucatini for mains and the cookies and milk for dessert... do not be fooled by its simplicity, it's an absolute banger! read more

Aside from the food being very fresh, nicely plated, and consciously sourced locally, I think the taste is just okay. Certain dishes stand out more, like the salad and carrots, but most other ones were ok. For the price, which isn't too bad I suppose, I expected better and maybe a bit more quantity. Even their award winning stuff were just OK. Maybe I just expected more! Service was a bit slow, couldn't flag down the wait staff to order more things. Ambiance is nice, and I bet it's nicer during the day, but at night it's quite dark, I get the dim lighting is for mood but I would've preferred just a notch more lumen to see the food better. Overall it's a very nice outing with friends to try a variety of artistic creations, but probably not worth the price to come back for a second. read more

The menu changes often which is good and bad, but given their food is always delicious it's nice to try new things. Apple matcha latte - good tasting matcha flavoring and Potatoes were out of this world. So crispy and tasty. Specialty fish sandwich was nice and crispy and the sourdough was delicious. The steak and eggs were also great. The sauce and flavoring on the steak was nice but I do think they slightly overcooked the steak and would've preferred a little more rare. Service was wonderful. Inside has a modern look with some minimalistic vibe - not too decorative. Service was great. Food: 5/5 Ambiance 4.75/55 Service: 4.5/5 Service: 4.75/5 read more

Absolute perfection! I love, love, love this place. The staff was incredibly nice, and our waitress went above and beyond to be helpful. The decor is absolutely beautiful, and we were even lucky enough to get a tour of their gorgeous greenhouse. As for the food, the frozen rosé is the ultimate Sunday brunch drink. I ordered the breakfast, and everything--from the eggs and potatoes to the sourdough toast--was cooked perfectly. The cheddar powder seasoning on the eggs and potatoes is a wonderful, flavorful touch. This is definitely a must-visit spot for weekend brunch! read more

You cannot go wrong with what you get here! We got: Roasted beet salad, wood grilled asparagus, wood grilled baramundi, the burger, gnnocci, and chocolate hazelnut cake.  I am not a huge veggie lover, but my goodness, the veggies here are fantastic! They are so fresh, cooked to perfection, and are paired with such great flavors that only elevate the dish/continue to keep it fresh.  The burger was amazing. One of my new favorite burgers. The fries are so addicting that come with it. The pasta and fish were so yummy - The fish portion was good for the four of us.  They had a cute menu for me to celebrate my birthady and treated me to a little birthday dessert. The dessert was so chocolatey and decadent that it makes me want to come back for their pastries.  For brunch: their smoothies and cafe drinks are great! The potatoes are so soooo good. The pancakes feel light, healthy, fresh. The sandwich brunch options are so yummy and filled nicely. Great brunch spot as well! The service is always fantastic with really nice waiters/waitressess. Will I be back here a million times? yes absoelutoly. I love that they have their own greenhouse and that they pride themselves on serving dishes that are fresh read more

We dined inside for lunch/brunch and it was ok. The staff was friendly and the interior spacious. We tried: - Funfetti Vanilla Donut - Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispi - Market Burger - Ina Pinkney's Deviled Egg Salad Sandwich The burger was cooked well and the fries were fantastic; the other options weren't bad. The prices were very reasonable as well. Overall it was a good experience, but wasn't for me. read more

Came for brunch and dinner on two separate occasions and left speechless at how flawless the experiences were both times. Your definition of a responsibly sourced, farm-to-table spot, with immaculate, well-thought-out interior decor that is versatile enough to impress our significant other for an anniversary dinner or chill enough to host a casual friend's night out. The recipes are unique and execution is absolutely flawless. The standouts for me both times were the Danish, crab bucatini, and beet salad. Service is outstanding, of course. This restaurant is what I would call a hidden gem. I truly believe that if it were in downtown, it would be impossible to get a reservation. read more

The wife and I came here to have dinner with a few friends. The service was top notch and equally complemented the delicious food. In addition the drinks was amazing and the waiters paid attention and offered slight suggestions based on what we enjoyed to drink or based on what we ordered. We really apprecaited that and it enhanced our experience. read more

Came here on a whim. Very modern ambience. Started off with the 2; Karat drink. Really enjoyed it, not too sweet a little peppery but not like spicy just taste. For apps had the tuna ceviche, tuna is extremely fries and the chips went perfectly with it. The main star for me is the brussel sprouts. I could eat the whole plate by my self if I could. The blend of that with the avocado and gochujang chefs kiss. I had the 6oz New York steak. The perfect medium rare. The sauce was the delicious the only thing I would say I didn't like was the basil with the stake to me it felt out of place. Overall great food would go back. read more

I recently came to Eden for brunch after running a half marathon. I'd been wanting to go for a while after seeing that they were one of the top brunch spots in the city and very gluten-free friendly. After running a lot of miles, the steak and eggs spoke to me. The real star, however, was the cheddar dusted breakfast potatoes. Not only do they look interesting, they taste great too. My girlfriend loved the quinoa pancakes. She's not one to finish her meals in one sitting, but she couldn't help but eat all of the pancakes. Ultimately, Eden made for a great brunch. It's a little off the beaten path, but you can sit outside and enjoy the sun while feeling like you've escaped the city. Also, they have parking available in a lot across the street. read more

My goal is to try 50 new Chicago restaurants in 2025! Restaurant: 26/50 Month tried: April Favorite dish: any and all the pastries! I had never heard of Eden before I was invited, and I think that's a crime!!! Their brunch was fantastic and it really surprised me that more people aren't talking about it. First of all, despite the somewhat hidden location, Eden is gorgeous inside and has a beautiful patio. I loved the little gift shop/waiting area and honestly would come back just to grab a last minute gift and a pastry! I was happy they had brunch and lunch menus available, although it did make it hard to decide. I ended up getting the Veggie Sandwich, and my group shared a bunch of pastries. Everything was fantastic! Great portion sizes as well. It's a bit of a hike for me but I WILL be back! read more

Eden was such a nice place to go for Sunday brunch. Great mixed of food options, from the classic breakfast (w/phenomenal breakfast potatoes) to a tasty burger and a solid kids menu. Good drinks, too. Atmosphere is elevated but also appropriate for families. Got some lattes and a Danish to go, too, and both were great. Also neat to see the greenhouse across the street where some of the vegetables and herbs are sourced. read more

The restaurant is really nice and moderately upscale. It's tucked away on a quiet portion of Roscoe St just west of the river. There is some parking in front, but the main lot is across the street. Every dish was really good; I tried all of the food pictured. But as others have said, portions are VERY stingy. For the price, you don't want to walk away hungry. I had the barramundi, and for $38, I shouldn't walk away feeling like that was a fancy snack. This applied to every plate. Prices should either be significantly less, or there needs to be substantially more food. read more

A good place, but not a great place. Some healthy options, but not many with protein. Service is friendly but untrained and not well selected. The waiter had to go back to the kitchen for every menu and food advice question we asked. He also admitted to not liking fish, which restricted him from answering questions about seafood on the menu. Nice interior. The restaurant is open starting at 10 but opens at 9 on holidays like Easter. However, it only posts this information on its Instagram, which created a lot of confusion for us when we got a 9:30am reservation on OpenTable and couldn't reach the restaurant to confirm nor find any information about this on the website. Food was good, and it was filling once I paid to add protein to it. Pastries and espresso macchiato were just okay. read more

We came for restaurant week dinner. They have a $45 and $60 option, with the difference being a pasta course in the latter. I appreciated that they had 2 price point options for dinner! We went with the $45 menu. For the apps, we got the Dan Dan Brussels sprouts and winter chicory salad. I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts - probably my favorite dish of the night! The apps were the best course of the night in my opinion. For the mains, we got the striped bass and roasted Cajun chicken. I thought these were both ok. The chicken didn't have that much flavor and the bass wasn't as tender as other bass I've had before. For dessert, we had the citrus meringue pie and roasted banana turtle brownie. I enjoyed the citrus meringue pie and liked how the meringue was in a shard so it was less overwhelmingly sweet. The roasted banana turtle brownie was ok - I could definitely tell it was vegan from the texture and the flavor. The service was nice and checked up on us frequently. It's a nice space inside and there's free parking outside which is a plus. read more

We wanted to try Eden for Sunday brunch and am sure glad we did. Greeted by the staff when we first walked in and also the pastry display case, very inviting. Def rustic and elegant vibes inside. The menu itself is surreal. You actually get to see what farms Eden works with so you get the best tasting meal! I was excited to try the milk bun breakfast sandwich and breakfast potatoes. Idk where to start, bun was soft as a pillow, cheesy pull apart Gruyère and that jalapeño remoulade was . I just have to be better and try the pastries next week. I finished the other plates. Finally made it in for brunch/ lunch today and was just as impressed as I have been each time we've been for dinner. You truly can't beat the freshness of ingredients used and the delightful flavors that the chefs curate so well. Today j had the chicken Caesar wrap with the Eden salad & my husband had the burger with French fries- both dishes were absolutely DEVINE and we both really enjoyed the use of oven roasted tomato on each dish. The burger was delightfully savory and bursting with flavor, the fries were the perfect level of crispy and not too salty! The Caesar wrap was fresh and light while still packed with flavors, the chicken was cooked perfectly and not over seasoned. The side salad was delicious and not too big with nice touch of sweetness from crisp apples and dried cranberries. My favorite part of our meal was the pear and almond danish we finished with. The pastry was so crispy and delicious, but not overly oily or buttery & the filling was not overly sweet and perfectly balanced. Service was fabulous as always. TRULY, they exceed all expectations, every single time. read more

I visited Eden this February during their restaurant week offerings. The meal was a much larger portion than expected and fantastic value for what I paid. The mushroom pasta and the Cajun chicken were my favorite items! The turtle brownie was fantastic and I would highly recommend trying it. The services were kind and accommodated us for a drink at the bar when we arrived early to our reservation. As it was our anniversary, we arrived to our table to see a Happy Anniversary message accompanying our menus which was very sweet. We were even given a complimentary champagne toast which set a great tone for our evening. The restaurant itself was beautiful and clean. read more

Good solid 3.5 For a lot of people it would be great food. For pickier sorts, it kind of misses the mark. Weird condiments on the tater tots. Fried crab Rangoon squash blossom - too heavy-the breading overwhelmed. Burger -good not great. Pasta with pork - delish but apples too big and weird, more marcona almonds needed. Drinks are a light pour, but good. Service - again an 'almost'-pleasant snd friendly but misses- when asking for dinner plates as we were sharing entrees, we each got a small! salad plate after our entrees were served. No one checked ' how is everything' after entrees. Ambiance in general lovely. Unclear what people find 'exceptional.' Oddly we would return and maybe you will too. read more

Yesterday, we had lunch at Eden Restaurant in Chicago. We arrived at the restaurant only to find our rear tire was flat. Thanks to the kindness of Moe, the GM along with a few of his crew members who changed our tire in drizzling rain. They were not deterred by the fact that our wheel key did not fit the locks on our car, they asked other Eden crew members to check their glove boxes for a wheel key. Thank you Moe and Team Eden for your kindness. Sometimes we forget how incredibly kind and generous the hospitality community truly is . And as for the food- best ever! I had the Soul and Smoke wood fired ham and cheese melt. Delicious! The Market Burgers are the best in the city! Chef Devon Quinn and his team are outstanding. Visited with family for my birthday dinner and really enjoyed it. We had a reservation for a Friday night and were seated in their back room that had a nice ambiance. There were 2 kids in our party and they not only had kid menus, but were also given crayons and a picture to color. My menu had a Happy Birthday cover, which was a nice touch! I love that the menu is seasonal and most (if not all) ingredients are grown in their greenhouse or locally sourced. I was also pleased to see they had some NA options, and opted for the Mystic Fruit, which ended up being ok just a little sweet for my tastes. However, I tried a sip of my Mom's Moon Daisy cocktail and it was a winner. For food, we sampled a lot of the menu but my favorites were the roasted squash country bread and the stracciatella. I would only pass on the hen of the woods mushrooms next time. For dessert, they brought out a birthday macaron with a candle, which was very cute and tasty. Overall, service was friendly and everything we ordered was served up quickly. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. read more

A five star food experience, one star docked for a few missed points on service. The food was absolutely delightful. At this price point, restaurants are sometimes hit or miss but this place was spot on. I'd say overall the strength of each dish was that it was simultaneously fresh (no doubt helped by their in-house greenhouse) and hearty with creative flavor combinations. We got the squash blossom rangoons and tuna ceviche to start. We were accidentally given the gnocchi--an unexpected but pleasant surprise, and one of the favorites of the night. The garden vegetables were a perfect fresh pairing to the gnocchi. Barramundi had a ton of flavors going on--my husband thought it was delicious but a little chaotic, but I loved that every bite brought a new surprise. The curry has a lovely coconut flavor with some really well-done veggies. Dessert blew me away. Was not expecting the peach and apricot cheesecake to be a beautiful, deconstructed concoction of different flavors and textures all working perfectly with each other. The point on service... maybe because we were tucked into the back but each course took a long time to come and we felt at multiple points we had trouble to hailing someone down when we needed something. Our server was friendly enough, just not the incredible attention we've received elsewhere. Overall, an elegant and lovely meal in a modern, industrial setting. Probably in my top 3 eats this year so far! I would come again to try more of the chef's often changing menu! read more

Came here for brunch/lunch and the experience was good overall, but I wasn't blown away. The black miso vanilla latte was good but just tasted like a standard latte - not sure where the black miso was. For $8 I'd skip this. The purple rain smoothie was flavorful but I wish it was a little thicker and a lot colder. It came out lukewarm which was a bit odd. Not to mention that it was $14. The tuscan white bean & kale soup was good but not that special. The foccacia that comes with it was great though. The pozole rojo, eden salad, and skinny turkey club were the stars. This place does breads and salads well, but skip the overpriced mid beverages. read more
