Had the opportunity to try The Radicle via the CapitalOne Dinner Series event back in April! What a fun night...good ambiance, people, food and drinks! Overall selection of food was great from apps, to main dishes to desserts. The menu seemed simple but the taste and quality were both highlights. I would totally go back just for thr pizza, delicious! Both the alcoholic drinks and mocktails were creative and mixing flavors that aren't usually together but somehow works. OK, I've been wanting to go here ever since they opened because Daisies is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. This is by the same owners, and I genuinely do not think that it will be open for the year. The service was pretty good, but honestly slow and we told them that it was my birthday and they did nothing? The cocktails were very good and honestly the reason I would come back here because they were clearly fresh and very strong and only $10! We tried the summer squash, the margarita, pizza, and the seasonal sweetcorn pizza. The margarita pizza was very forgettable and the summer squash was fine, but it was really just squash and a spicy vinaigrette? The real star of the whole meal was the sweetcorn pizza. This was honestly amazing and you can tell that the corn was very fresh. I honestly think that they should expand their menu beyond just pizzas and seafood because it's very random and I don't think the concept really meshes together. The pizza crust is great and my favorite part tbh. Very light, but still crunchy. The restaurant was very empty and again I think that they were trying to do something more casual than daisies but they just kind of missed the mark here with the concept. I still think that it's worth checking out especially for their happy hour or just to try the seasonal pizzas, but it's not really a place that I would go again. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at The Radicle last night. We sat outside on a lovely evening, the service and surroundings were very pleasant. The female server was very helpful and attentive, as was the gentleman who served our wine. We had a dozen oysters, the salmon tartare, fried lake fish and the fritto misto, everything was fresh and well prepared. All the pizzas going past our table looked very good, I think we'll try the clam pizza on our next visit, The cocktails we tried were very tasty, as was the excellent German sparkling wine. Sometimes (rarely) when you least expect it, you try a new restaurant that hits you in the head like a brick. This is what happened to me tonight at The Radicle! Everything about this place just worked in every way possible. From walking in to walking out, and everything in between was this opulent, sumptuous place running on all cylinders. First and foremost, our server was this very nice and articulate young man that walk us four souls through the elaborate cocktail menu and then through the food menu and then again walked us through the specials of the day menu. We all chose: * Special of the day - A Morel Mushroom pizza that was ridiculously great! I mean one of the best pizzas I've had in Chicago * A Panisse of cured sardines and pickled ramps - Sooooooo Good! * A Fritos Misto of Skate Cheeks, Shrimp Heads (wow) with saffron aioli knocked me out * Asparagus Salad with spring onions vinaigrette and lump crap was not only wonderful but inventive * We had a beautiful wine selection And * I had a Martini so loaded with "Good Stuff" I could have had five Everything listed above was one giant "Chicago" treat. The menu here at The Radicle was short but sweet and so diverse with their selections it makes you want to order everything! Side Note: The restroom doors have a sign (see my posted picture) that every restaurant in the world should have, because it's so damn FAIR! I think I had set my expectations too high for The Radicle. We had a nice time, but nothing truly blew me away about my experience. The spot is cute and was very busy. We started with the Salmon Tartare which was very fresh and flavorful, but a little overpowered by the saltiness of the saltines. We also ended up ordering some chicken wings which weren't particularly memorable except for the onion dip ranch, which was as delicious as you would expect from Daisies sister restaurant. I do love the trend of affordable cocktails which really helped make The Radicle feel fun and fresh. read more

The Radicle has a nice, comfortable feel to it, with an intimate indoor space and a patio available out back. The menu is small, but still has a good variety of food and interesting presentations. For two of us, we ordered the seafood platter, the baby beets and smoked mackerel small plates, a bottle of rosé, plus the flan and chocolate slab pie for dessert. Full disclosure - beets and smoked mackerel would not usually be my first choice, but were recommended and were excellent, as was everything we tried! Cool new restaurant in Logan square with an interesting variety on the menu. The cocktails were even more interesting - I tried a Baja one off the specials menu, and this was a super sweet blue tequila drink which was not what I expected. The next drink I got though was much better - the indecent locals was a refreshing mezcal drink. We tried a lot of the menu items, as they were mostly smaller portions. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the shrimp cocktail was also a lovely seafood bite. The smoked makerel was our favorite - so flavorful on a little toast. The mozzarella sticks were nothing special especially the apricot jam that came with it was too sweet. The chicken wings were good but also nothing to die for however it was nice that it came with the onion dip ranch which was tasty. The beets and market salad were both refreshing to have with the rest of the meal. The mussels were delicious especially with pizza to dip the crust in the broth. The clam pizza was good - you would never be able to tell there were clams on it. Overall, some dishes were much better than others, but the food was great. The drinks were interesting. Service was slower because it was so busy. Vibe is bright and lively. read more

When I saw the playful menu that managed to be both diverse and focused, along with cocktails for $10-$12, I knew I had to go to The Radicle for my birthday dinner. This was a great call! I don't make it out to Logan Square often, so I love a destination for a special event. It's a lively, cozy space that's clean, bright, and just trendy enough. You can see the mountain of oysters as soon as you come in, and that's always a good sign to me! The oyster presentation was simple, with 4 options (we got east coast--I prefer their briny flavor) served with mini lemon wedges (wedgettes?) mini bottles of hot sauce (too cute), and a mignonette. They weren't missing a drop of their liquor--these oysters were juicy! So satisfying. If you only order one thing at The Radicle--make it the mozzarella sticks. The cheese pull alone is worthy of a social media post, but it's the apricot dipping sauce that you'll go crazy for. And unlike some cheese sticks I have, these stayed piping hot (and yes, the cheese kept pulling) right up until the very end. We had a table of 4 and had 2 orders. You'll want similar proportions. The crab dip was fun with retro flair (served with Ritz crackers!) and the winter citrus salad (recommended by our gracious server) balanced out some of the richness of our meal nicely with its bright supremes and crunchy hazelnuts. We got two pizzas: clam and mushroom. They were delicious, but I would probably put the mushroom as my favorite of the two. The crust is crusty where it needs to be, thin where you want it to be, and has the right balance of lightness and chew. We could work our way through the pizza menu alone. I love their beverage program, including nuanced craft cocktails, low and zero-proof mocktails and a nice wine list. I had a Scoop of Blue Moon and a Coretto Martini (their take on an espresso martini). The drinks are incredible, and at these prices you SHOULD have two or three! Oh, we'll be back. read more

Spent my birthday dinner at The Radicle. Great vibe, awesome music. The cocktails were unique and refreshing. We had the famous onion dip from daisies. I thought it would come with crackers but it just came with fresh veggies. Pizzas were delicious, great garlic taste in the chewy crust. Overall solid meal. The good attributes are the price & the soundtrack. The bad is it's cheap food & the final product is evocative of said statement. Drink was booze forward but not because the accompanying spirit was supposed to outshine the other components but because it was mixed like the person was an amateur. A LOT of people are talking about and loving The Radicle, especially since it's affiliated with the deservedly beloved Daisies. We stopped in for a snack and drink on a Monday evening and it was pretty full (thankfully made reservations en route). Lots of creatively topped pizza on the menu (thin chewy crust variety, sauced and un-sauced) as well as fish small plates and a variety of oysters. Cocktail list is inventive and interesting and there are mocktails and low ABV options as well. Beer and wine as well. Both the cocktails we had were excellent (Lady of the Lake and Birdwatching in Milan). The sardine salad had a great blend of flavors but was a bit skimpy on actual fish. The fried sausage stuffed olives with aioli were delish but at $2 per, a bit steep. Friendly host and food runners; probably our server was having something going on as he didn't match that vibe but he gave us the info we needed to get started. Gratuity/service fee automatic and they emphasize this in multiple places. Table, high top and bar seating available. Good for small groups, pairs, solo diners. I wouldn't come for a full meal (not my style of pizza and oysters at $3-4 each is standard these days but too much for me) but for a snack and to check out more drinks, I'll definitely return. read more

Cozy and lively. Raw brick interior, perfect lighting, nice Logan vibe. Drink menu for the adventurous featuring multiple ingredients. Would take weeks to sample all.. Menu limited, and I am unsure what edibles would be complimented by the clever but complex $10-$13 cocktails. Pizzas only OK. Crust thickness midway between tavern style and deep dish with I thought mismatched austere toppings. It took 50 minutes from order given to kitchen to arriving at our table. . Oysters fresh, 4 costal sources. Fun. But very expensive. The crowded tables did not seem to mind. read more
