Ultimate Combo with veggie sausage, 2 eggs, French toast, and fruit
    Marina M.

Cute little diner! Went at 12pm on a Sunday and they said the wait was 45 min so I put my name in for a party of 2....it took nearly an hour and a half to get seated, and then another 20-25 min for our food to arrive. Wish they would've been more transparent about the wait. I really appreciate all the vegetarian/vegan friendly options. The veggie sausage was delicious but unfortunately I didn't like the French toast. While the food was good it unfortunately wasn't worth waiting almost two hours for so I definitely will not be back on a Sunday.

We've visited Lucy's twice in a week period. The food has been very delicious on both occasions. We ordered the vegan chilaquiles with tofu and the vegan southwest skillet. Both dishes are super flavorful and the perfect portions. I also enjoy their fresh grapefruit juice. We had a bit of a hiccup on the second visit. I recently created an account with the online dining program, Dining Advantage. While browsing I was excited to Lucy's Cafe on the site and purchased the discount voucher with my account credit. On our visit, I went to redeem, and was told by the waiter that they are not part of any dining programs, though they had been years ago, according the waiter. The waiter did ultimately accept the discount, but it can be embarrassing when you can see the slight annoyance on the waiter face. I hope Lucy's takes the steps to ensure that they are removed from the dining program's catalog. With all said, we do plan to continue to visit.

Banana pancakes so good 10/10. Chilaquiles were good 8/10. Cute little restaurant would maybe get the breakfast burrito next time since my friend got that and it looked amazing

I'm celiac and was so happy to find a place serving pancakes - what I did not know is that they'd be the best I've ever had, gf or not! I got one of the combos and was full for the rest of the day. The service was nice, he was very accommodating, and the vibe was very cute inside even though they only played John Mayer hahaha. My girlfriend got a flatbread and it was different than what was described on the menu and she didn't love it but was happy that I loved mine so much. I will be dreaming about these pancakes forever!

Lucy's Cafe is a cute, vegetarian friendly, casual spot. The staff is nice and they have a ton of options for vegans as well. Prices are reasonable and food is solid. I have had a variety of items as I have been here a handful of times. Some of my favorite things to order are the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, the flight of French toast, and the vegetarian chilaquiles! You can't go wrong with really anything on the menu!

this was an adorable cafe! very bright!! tables are a bit close together so if u dont mind being able to hear the tables' conversations right by u then try here!! 4 stars for that but also because i dont agree w how they price their items. some items are vegan/vegetarian but they explicitly list an upcharge for making it vegan. also the rice i had with my quesadilla had no flavor at all. i definitely recommend the french toast!! it was so tasty and they use real maple syrup!! our server seemed like he was trying to get the interaction over with every time we talked to him but it was super busy so u cant blame them!

Lucy's has long been a favorite brunch spot since its Victory's Banner days, and after all these years I am thrilled to say it is as good as it's ever been. The apple pecan pancakes are perfect, the right amount of seasoning in the batter to wonderfully balance the sweetness of the apples and the syrup. The pancakes are cooked just right, and there are lovely little chunks of apple and pecans throughout, assuring a perfect bite every time. The California avocado roll is a unique play on some familiar ingredients, with large cuts of avocado, tomato, and vegan bacon rolled into an egg and tortilla. Just a delicious dish that blends so many flavors and textures together perfectly, a real treat. Let's not forget the potatoes, which are nice and crispy and very well seasoned. It's a rare thing when a restaurant executes a menu this large at such a high level, but Lucy's does it every single time. Sure, there may be a long wait. And yes, occasionally things do take a little longer to come out than expected. But, these issues from the past seem to have been minimized more and more of late, and when it's a scratch kitchen with super fresh ingredients, you're also happy to wait a little bit longer than perhaps at some other spots not doing brunch this well. A favorite now for seven years, Lucy's continues to impress and delight!

Cute and small is a good way to describe it. If looking for a place that gets crowded at breakfast, this is such a place. Lucy's is one of the popular spots in Roscoe Village. Just be sure to go when it's open, because it's only for breakfast and lunch. There's a pretty good variety for meat eaters and plant based options. At breakfast the last time it was crowded. It always seems to be, with it being a pretty small place so room is limited. There was about a 20 minute wait. Has a lot of variety on the menu. There's meaty and there's vegetarian. I got the Caramelized Onion Flatbread. It's $11, which isn't a bad price. This came with goat cheese but I got the vegan feta, which tasted like a good substitute. Also it was brunch so she got a Veggie Burger. This was a pretty decent sized burger, and it has vegan choices as far as cheese and items. Has to be one of the best places for breakfast around here. It's like the whole neighborhood is here, so it's obviously a very popular place. There's standard breakfast items along with some for vegans and vegetarians.

Are YOU a vegan or vegetarian looking to entertain your family at a good price in a terrific neighborhood? Are you looking to catch up with an old friends over brunch? Are you a solo foodie who loves being a regular in an easily accessible spot on Chicago's northside? Time to check out Lucy's Cafe, y'all! I am a frequent flier of Lucy's Cafe and often order the Southwest Skillet - though, I've never been disappointed by any of their other menu offerings. The burgers are especially good! They've recently added meat options, which has meant I can take more of my beloved friends to this place and they have options! So brave! The service is always top-notch. I don't even go particularly regularly, but several staff members remember my name - it's a pretty small, close-knit crew. Just another reason to love this neighborhood gem! I enjoy this restaurant and always go out of my way to go early on weekends - it fills up quick, and I don't think they take reservations. Clean, cozy atmosphere with lots of great food. What more could you ask for?

This restaurant gives off a warm homey vibe. It's painted with a nice green and purple and decorated with artwork. The place itself is not that large, so it can get quite loud when it's busy, usually on weekends during breakfast and lunch. The food is always pretty solid. I usually have the pesto & goat cheese omelete which is great, but today I had the asparagus omelete. It was good but thought it could have used some of the sauce from the inside on top. Additionally, there seems to be a repetitive occurrence of slow service. Not sure if they're short-staffed or if they think they can manage everyone with one server, but we had to flag him down multiple times. Prices are very fair which is nice, but they do prefer cash or else they'll charge a credit card fee. The coffee was tepid unfortunately. Usually this isn't the case. I'm giving this place 4 stars based on my previous visits here, but this time wasn't so great.

Sriracha avocado egg scramble with vegan bacon . Fantastic!

Today j had the chicken Caesar wrap with the Eden salad & my husband had the burger with French fries- both dishes were absolutely DEVINE and we both really enjoyed the use of oven roasted tomato on each dish. The burger was delightfully savory and bursting with flavor, the fries were the perfect level of crispy and not too salty! The Caesar wrap was fresh and light while still packed with flavors, the chicken was cooked perfectly and not over seasoned. The side salad was delicious and not too big with nice touch of sweetness from crisp apples and dried cranberries. My favorite part of our meal was the pear and almond danish we finished with. The pastry was so crispy and delicious, but not overly oily or buttery & the filling was not overly sweet and perfectly balanced. Service was fabulous as always. TRULY, they exceed all expectations, every single time.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for. The restaurant itself is very casual and comfortable. I would definitely recommend making a reservation, as it can get busy and save you from a wait. However, the service felt a bit slow for a Sunday evening. We started with the filtered coffee, which was good, but not particularly memorable or something I would go out of my way for. For our mains, we ordered the chicken biryani with raita. The raita was absolutely delicious and complemented the dish well. The biryani itself was enjoyable, but despite specifically requesting it to be spicy, it lacked the heat and depth of spice we were expecting. We also ordered the beef porotta, and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment of the meal. We again requested extra spice, but it didn't deliver on that front. More importantly, both the beef and the porotta were served cold. Dishes like this should be served hot so the porotta stays flaky and the beef retains its rich flavors and texture. Because both components were cold, the dish lost much of what makes it special. Overall, I was genuinely excited to try Thattu and really wanted to love it. While there were some positives, I ultimately left feeling underwhelmed and not fully satisfied, which was disappointing given all the praise and anticipation surrounding the restaurant.

We went with another couple who miraculously found parking right in front. Had it been warmer out, we could have sat outside for dinner. This bar has been around for decades and they haven't lost their spark yet. I think they're just getting ready for the summer and a lot more fun. We ventured here from the suburbs to see a friend's cousin's band called 76th Street. So we went early, enjoyed some drinks and dinner, and then made our way into the venue in back. Beat Kitchen has a lot of beer options (fir those who like beer) with a mix of mainstream, local brews, and some IPAs.
