During our visit to Chicago, we were exploring the area in search of a quiet spot for breakfast. The vibe of the restaurant immediately drew us in, reminding me of my younger years with jukeboxes, records, and Pac-Man video games. We decided to try the Chicken Pesto Panini, which was absolutely delicious--easily one of the best paninis we've ever had. We also ordered one of my all-time favorite breakfast dishes: Avocado Toast with over-easy eggs. However, as you can see from the photo, I received scrambled eggs instead. The dish was still tasty, but I was a bit disappointed by the mix-up. I chose not to request a correction, though. Both meals were generously portioned, and we'd definitely consider coming back if we're in the area again.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow... Along With My Patience Imagine ordering a fruit salad and being served a side of someone's loose hair. Now imagine the manager reacting like this was just... normal? No apology, no urgency--just "Huh. Anyway." When I posted about it on Nextdoor (because, shockingly, most adults prefer hair-free food), the real entertainment began: locals insisting I should've "just picked it out" like some sort of culinary Marie Kondo. Newsflash: Basic hygiene shouldn't "spark joy"--it should be a given. If strangers defending a hair salad is this restaurant's target demographic, I'll gladly take my appetite elsewhere.

Stunning back patio, great brunch options. Breakfast tacos were 10/10, they kept the coffee flowing and the mint and lemon infused water for the table was a nice touch

It's been 6 years since my last visit, and the price of the green eggs and ham has only gone up 1 dollar, thankfully. Nowadays, this is directly in line with the prices everywhere. Still delicious, still amazing service. Popped in on a Friday morning about 5 minutes after opening and was greeted and sat down right away. TVs going near the bar, very nice experience. Cozy and casual. Love this place still! Had the green eggs and ham again - they were delicious!

Years ago, I met a friend at Kitsch'n on Roscoe, and I liked it. Since I was in the area, I popped in for a quick breakfast before running morning errands. The coconut French toast was a hit. I liked that I could get my eggs scrambled with cream cheese. And the rosemary in the home fries added a very nice flavor. Service was as good as I recall from years ago. I think they may pack out by late morning through the afternoon. As the temperatures warm up, it is no doubt a guarantee that it will be a busy spot. They are worth it.

I really enjoyed my breakfast at Kitsch'n on Roscoe. We arrived on a Saturday morning and there wasn't a wait, which would be unheard of in other parts of the city! Another reason to love Roscoe. The service was pretty prompt and attentive. I had an iced coffee (pricey--I think it was $4?) and the pesto omelet. The pesto does not contain nuts. It was very tasty and my first experience with the pesto eggs trend! The hash browns were more crispy that I usually think of hash browns but they were really good. We also had the berry pancakes, which were pancakes with berries on top (not in the pancake which I prefer). The pancakes themselves had a really good vanilla flavor, not just the normal pancake taste. Parking was really easy on a side street a block west of the restaurant.

Kitsch'n is one of my most favorite brunch places. It's not even near where I live but I'll drive out of my way to go. Kindest staff, bottomless coffee (and they're always offering and on top of refills) and the food is ‍ *chefs kiss* haha. Their rosemary hash browns are fresh, crunchy, hot and seem to be made fresh vs a frozen clump you might get from somewhere else. My favorites are the Two Deuces and a Jack and the Mac and Cheese. True diner vibes done right! They also have a patio in the back and front! Front patio is dog friendly!

I think this place is super adorable. The artwork on the walls really brought the whole ambiance together. The service was quick and my server was really nice. I got the avocado toast with the rosemary hash browns. I'd rate the food a solid 4/5-- the eggs were perfect, it was a great amount of food for the price, and the textures were great! The only reason why it's not 5 stars is that I would've liked more rosemary flavor in the potatoes and no red onions (I'm more of a yellow onion gal); I felt like the whole sprigs of rosemary took away from it, and I would've enjoyed it more if the leaves were chopped up. Also for the avocado toast, I'll admit, I'm picky about them, but I would've loved to have more acid (I'm a sucker for pickled onions/radishes on my avocado toast). Of course, all the food opinions are just because I'm a picky eater, but this place is a must-go! The neighborhood is lovely, the music adds to the overall ambiance and this place has such a unique charm that I think is so magical.

This was a cute little old-fashioned diner feel with good food that was served a little on the cold side. The staff was kind but busy. Coffee was refilled often and they let us chat and catch up without feeling rushed.

BYOB. Hello! Who doesn't LOVE bringing your own bubbles?!? We sure did! Our short and sweet little walk over to Kitschn surprised us with no alcohol options during the winter. No problem! There is a gas station next door. Even better my friend lives close by so we were able to grab a bottle of champagne. What's even better, no fees for bringing your booze. You have the option doctor up your champagne or whatever you bring. The restaurant supplies the glasses and juice options. Pretty sweet deal. Post tiki party we needed some grease, but didn't want to go overboard. Whole360 options exist here! Oh, but I didn't order from this menu. I opted for the chilaquiles and my friend got the basil omelette with hash browns. Delicious! Cute little diner with a decent amount of seatings with tables and bar stools. Nothing fancy, but loved this little place!

All our pics are after partially eaten because we could not help ourselves. Everything was delicious. Staff was very kind and attentive. Oldies playing on the overhead speakers. And such cute voice mugs. This is a perfect little breakfast dinner with lots of Hispanic influence in the food and vibes. Definitely recommend as the perfect lunch stop that is walking distance from after visiting the rat hole.

Excellent meal. I had the breakfast burrito. My date had the pesto eggs. The food was very good, but I'd like to comment on a few miscellaneous items which, while innocent enough, drew my review down from 5 stars to 4: 1. The hot sauce bottle is very skinny. I almost dropped it twice! 2. The pancakes were so good that my date ate them all before I could get one bite! 3. One of the beans from my burrito fell on the floor! I've logged all of these deficiencies with pictures - hopefully Kitsch'n On Roscoe will see this review, make some corrections, and get this ship back on a course toward perfection. Bottom line: Go here!

Really solid breakfast from this neighborhood spot. My wife had breakfast tacos with the crispy hash browns and I had the Chilaquiles Verde with bacon and chorizo. Both were really tasty and well prepared. We ordered to go which was quick and easy. Place is always busy.

Ofc we also had to get the vegan deep dish and it was also really good. Since we were the only ones there we chatted quite a bit with the bartender and he was super friendly. We started with a bunch of cocktails (I wish I remember the names.. but they were all so good!). Food to start, we ordered the Charcuterie, and the House Made Pretzel. We were obsessed with both! The charcuterie did not skimp out like some cheese/meat plates do.. it was a satisfying amount that we kept going back for more. The pretzel was outstanding, twisted and hot, perfectly soft and salty. To eat, I split the Gretel Griddle Burger and the Fried Chicken Sandwich with my friend because although we were there for the burger, I kept reading about the chicken sandwich being fantastic. Booyy they were not wrong!! As much as I loved the burger, the chicken sandwich was my favorite! Perfectly crispy, with this sweet and spicy glaze and the crunchy Asian pear slaw... OMG. I'm still dreaming about this! One thing we were excited about were the Elote Riblettes.. but I wouldn't order these again. I accidentally bit the whole thing and didn't realize they kept the core in, and I had to spit it out. And even after eating it properly it didn't feel like I got enough of it from those little bites. Loved the fries though! We didn't see a dessert menu but we would have definitely been interested in that. After all the drinks apps and the chicken sandwich I was feeling so full so I couldn't finish the burger so I got it wrapped to go. But let me tell you even when I reheated that burger the next day.. it was fantastic!! Overall we may have been the loudest and most obnoxious group (we get a bit excited haha) our waiter and the vibe were all matched! Disclaimer that both times we sat at the bar. So this has nothing to do with servers at the tables. It just felt cold and not at the level I would expect for the prices and reputation. For example, we ordered the smoked trout caesar salad once at the recommendation of a friend, and didn't love it. It was very, very fishy. Like not just the smoked trout itself, the dressing also tasted way heavier on the anchovies or something than we're used to. And we love caesars! We didn't say anything about it because it's literally in the name that it may be fishy. The issue was that it was so obvious we only took one bite that the bartender commented on it when he was clearing our plates. "Too fishy?" We confirmed. And then he took the full plate of food away that he himself had just agreed with wasn't great, and returned with our bill that still charged us $20 for a salad. I mean, it's fine. But it's just an example of the kind of service you get there. We were barely checked on, even when drinks were empty. Even when making eye contact. Even when we were obviously done eating for several minutes and the bartenders were staring at our plates.Even after asking for a check and watching conversations happen leisurely behind the bar while we sat there. I know sitting at the bar is a different style of service, but it ventured more into inattentive than spacious. The space is cool. The food is fine. It just doesn't make up for feeling like a burden when I'm paying $100+ for lunch for two.
