I had my two front windows tinted here at 35% which is MD state law. The display in their lobby was…read morelabeled "legal". I said I want it legal. Even my receipt said 35%. This means it should test at 35%. They are supposed to account for the tint in the factory windows. When I got my car inspected my tint was 31%. This caused my car to fail inspection. So I went back and all they would do is take it off. They would not replace their product with the correct tint and fix their mistake. Now I have to pay again to have my windows tinted correctly. This is simply my honest experience. I do not recommend. They respond to all complaints in a very defensive and condescending manner. They aim to discredit the customer when they have made a mistake. They have a history of not being honorable when anyone complains. Response- Why on earth would I make this up or lie? I never said you were being deceitful. You guys simply made a mistake which you are unable to admit to. You jump to a defensive posture and make false allegations against me. You resort to insults. At no point was I insulting towards you, but you can't help but react emotionally. Being in business for 28 years does not make you immune to mistakes. I'm not going to call you as you suggested. You had an opportunity to do the right thing but chose not to. So now I'm going to share my honest experience which is my right as a consumer.

They said it would be about an hour and it was. I got the ceramic tint and it was astonishing how effective it was. My son got his car tinted and I drove over separately to the location so we could get lunch while we waited. Today the thermometer on my car read 100°. When I got into my untainted car, I felt every bit of the hundred degree heat. His car after the tint install was dramatically cooler. Their prices are competitive with other vendors I found, but I was thoroughly impressed with the workmanship. I see why this place has such high ratings. Erik, the owner, was quick at responding and easy to talk and coordinate with. The date I ended up picking was about 2.5 weeks from when I first reached out which was good with me. I showed up day of to select the tint that I wanted, dropped my car off, and was told it'd be ready for pickup in an hour. The quality of the tint was top notch, and I've had zero issues with it warping, discoloring, or peeling a month later. It reduces the interior temperature of my car during these hot days. I learned more about modern ceramic tint vs what we used to use back in the day. After reaching out to several companies in the Sterling/Ashburn area, I found Sunshine Control and requested a quote. Erlinda provided me a few options to go with standard ceramic tint or the 3M Crystalline tint. I waited several months to make my decision as I wanted to get closer to the spring/summer season before needing the tint. Well, I decided to do it earlier and reached back out to Erlinda and she honored the pricing she provided and walked me through the different tint options. The work was completed in roughly 5 hours after I dropped off my car. They are detailed, careful and cover all electronics on a tesla to avoid water intrusion issues with the installation process. The woman who worked there (sorry I forgot her name, I want to say it was Mindy but am probably way off and the guys in the shop will start calling her Mindy as a joke now) was so helpful. She showed me the tint displays and explained the different options/coatings available. I needed some hand holding, so we went in the parking lot and she pointed out the cars and what percentage tint each had--this was extremely helpful and made it really clear as to what to expect. They have pricing clearly displayed. They had quick availability for scheduling, but since it was close to the end of the day, they offered to put everyone on the job and get it done for me same day (took about 45 minutes but 3 of them were working together). They invite you back for any air bubbles that haven't resolved within a week--I had one and it dried out and went away within two days--part of the cutting process. Also, they put a sticker over your window buttons because you cannot roll them down for 3-5 days after the install--no drive throughs allowed, haha!

And I did ask her about it and she said oh no, you can pay in the beginning or you could pay the end but as soon as I walk through the door, she just asked me for the money. I've never paid for services like that before once you I give you my car key I gotta pay you to get it back anyway. it's a five star business and if not for that snafu, it would've given it five stars . I think I'm not feeling the way they got the money from me cause I was gonna pay them regardless and my car looks great. And I'm not trying to throw shape.
