It's nice to not get taken/upsold when you come in for one issue - being a woman, I'm used to getting the "girl" version on vehicle issues, never mind that I'm a certified master tech. When he went over the diagnosis, he used layman terms but once I asked a more specific question, he switched over to shop talk and didn't tell me "you may not understand how it works" (Century Ford/Dodge service advisors use that as their go-to phrase when they can't answer a technical question -- irrelevant to this review but I'm only here because I got tired of the smart ass comments there). My dad had a motor rebuilt by Tabler's that has a knocking issue immediately after the rebuild that they wont stand behind their work. Another mechanic that fixed the issue for my dad said Tabler's son had not fixed the valves or done head work like he said he had before putting motor back together. Many older friends that dealt at Tabler's for years have recently gone elsewhere for repairs due to lack of experience they offer now and how un professional they are to deal with now. Highly recommend going elsewhere for quality work, and to pay a mechanic that actually appreciates their customers and treats them with respect. Mt Airy is a small community and Jeff's son will slowly run the business into the ground like so many older smaller businesses that the younger generation take over and destroy what their families worked so hard to buid up.

Then when I took it back and told them the issue was the same, they said it was me and mansplained a lot. The next mechanic said they never should have went directly to changing the computer, but was not able to find the issue. I ended up that changing a fuse helped, but later on the entire fuse holder needed replaced': and that fixed the issue.

I called Mr Tire on a Thursday and within a five minute call I had an appointment set for the following Sunday at 10am. They did carry my size and told me the price of the tire and what brand of tire I could choose from. On Sunday I stopped by at 10 am. They were ready for me and asked if I'd like a couple additional options, including tire alignment and a type of warranty. I did not feel pressured at all to get any of these options. I headed out and got a call that my car was ready by 10:45. I picked up my car a couple hours later and everything was great! I looked over an itemized bill before paying for the tires. The tires were 275 with disposal fees and the service charge was around 60, so I paid a total of 350 for the new tires and service. Great deal and my car is ready to go! It was a very straightforward process with no surprises.

Instead, I received an invoice for $736.80 that didn't even include the CV axle work I came in for. I was charged $345 for a "diagnostic" on a problem I had already identified and explained, and a $20 washer was turned into a $307 brake hose replacement I never authorized. The work order mischaracterized what I told them -- they wrote "brakes spongy" and "axle is making noise," neither of which I said. Their own authorization form states they cannot charge for work you did not authorize. Be very careful here and get everything in writing.

My roadside assistance through my insurance told me 90-120 minutes which was ridiculous! I called Dynamic and got the price for them to come out and put the donut on which was very reasonable. They said if they could fix it, they would, but were unable to replace it as the tire supplier had just left. Brice came out and was very polite and worked quickly to get the donut tire on my car. He then looked the flat tire over and saw that it had been sliced and said they would be unable to fix it. I asked him if I paid him or called back to the shop and he said his mgr. told him if they couldn't fix the tire, there was no charge. Well, that kind of service is very rare these days. I would highly recommend Dynamic Automotive. After reading the comments here, I may start taking my car there for service.
