The view from out table at MC Perkins Cove

After a wonderful experience our first time there, we decided to return. We were seated at our requested window table, with its nice water view. There the positives end. This visit was spoiled by poor service. After being told by our waiter that our food was coming, 45 minutes after our order was taken, we were dismayed that our entrees were delivered and they completely forgot our salad. Where was the salad we ordered for our first course? And where was the second glass of red wine my wife ordered? We ordered a seafood dish with clams, mussels, haddock, and shrimp atop a pasta in a "saffron" sauce, and a grilled beef tenderloin with potatoes and grilled asparagus. The seafood dish featured perfectly prepared fish and shellfish, but the sauce had little flavor. I sampled the beef tenderloin, which had a nice flavor but was otherwise indistinguishable. The long wait for food, as well as the scatterbrained attitude of our waiter, made this dining experience so uncomfortable that we decided to skip dessert and just pay our bill and leave. And we had to pay for parking a princely sum to make matters even more adverse. We won't be back.

We stopped in for cocktails. It's a very pretty restaurant. You can see the water out the back window. We sat at the bar and I had a watermelon martini that was really delicious. Bartender is really nice. The upstairs restaurant is very pretty with views of the beach. I will definitely return to grab some food next time.

Almost white, soggy onion rings. Obviously inedible. Would not return.

My wife Carolyn and our dear friends Chris and Cheryl recently dined at this lovely fine dinning establishment. The dining room has many large windows laying bare the expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean. We were looking forward to a very special culinary experience. All is well until Cheryl is served onion rings that were soggy and undercooked. The kitchen had just been opened and we the among the very first to be served. It's likely the oil was simply not hot at the required temperature to properly fry the onion rings. No big deal The server will gladly take them away and return with onion rings that are crispy instead of soggy. Afterall, it's just an appetizer right? Wrong! The sever took them away and upon returning declared that they are supposed to be almost white in color and soggy. Oh, would you like to try French fries instead? No problem, as long as you understand that the cost of the unediible onion rings will not be removed from your bill and you will be charged for the fries. By the way, our bill without any alcohol or dessert was a little over $200 including tip for our party of four seniors. One would think that the chef or manager or owner would accommodate the reasonable request of a patron to have onion rings that were not gooey. Evidently, this dining establishment has no class whatsoever or any desire for their customers to be happy with the food they ordered. We will never return. Chris and Cheryl own their own home in Kennebunk and often walk the the Marginal Way path along the shoreline that is just a hundred yards from this restaurant. They are actually repeat customers. However, after this gross disregard for a customer's simple request they or my wife and I will never set foot in this haughty establishment again. You would do well to seek another restaurant as well.

Pretentious and overpriced. Drinks were good but staff was blah. Had to send back the BLT we ordered. The bacon was thick and burnt. Excellent ocean views but not a place we will return to.

A very elegant restaurant located right on the water. View is spectacular. We came for the Mother's Day special and it was very crowded but the service was prompt and professional. Parking, or lack thereof, was the only drawback.

We came here for lunch before going to the Ogunquit Playhouse for a matinee. Too bad parking is such a bear. We had to pay $20. to park up the street from the cove. I wish eateries or chamber of commerce would offer some discount to help subsidize to cost of folks coming to eat or shop. We had made reservations and were immediately sat in a primo location in the corner with floor to ceiling windows and we felt like rock stars...... until our very embarrassed host came and moved us to another table saying she had put us at the wrong table. She was apologetic and our actual table was a lovely window table on the side of the dining room with smaller windows. We enjoyed the view. Two of us got the eggplant gyro which tastes less mediterranean and more like indian curry, but still good. I got the fish tacos which come as a pair. It was delicious but left me a tiny bit hungry still, so I split a pavlova with my friend for dessert and the coffee gelato was so good. The pavlova combo was a little too sweet for us. We shared the crab fritter appetizer which was delicious but very small. The prices were not too bad, but don't expect large servings. The service was amazing. Great wait staff and food runners and a person to come clean the crumbs from the table between courses.

Favorite place in Ogunquit! The food, the service, and the view can not be beat. My go-to when here

Delicious lunch. Almost missed this spot due to all the bad reviews. We had good customer service - the server did have a weird reaction when we asked for the "briniest" oysters, They only have one kind - but aside from that the food, drinks, and service were great. Pro tip: parking SUCKS. Walk there. The haddock is where it's at for lunch. Drinks are great.

Had lunch there. It was great. I had the green and white flatbread pizza and it was fantastic. A great view of the ocean and Perkins Cove.

It has that casual, coastal Maine feel that makes you want to linger. I ordered the cold lobster roll, which was generously filled and came with their homemade chips everything tasted very fresh and perfectly seasoned. I also had the clam chowder, which was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. My husband chose the lobster dinner with french fries and coleslaw and really enjoyed it, especially the freshness of the lobster. Our kids were just as happy with their meals. My daughter got the mayo-based lobster roll, which she loved, and my son ordered the fried clam strips with fries, which disappeared quickly from his plate. Overall, every dish we tried was very good, and the setting by the ocean made it a memorable meal for our whole family.

We've been eating our way from Boston up through Portland, and this ended up being the absolute best lobster roll of the entire trip. The Main Event: * The Lobster Roll: The portion size is fantastic; they definitely do not skimp on the meat. The lobster was incredibly fresh, the temperature was perfect, and it was served on a beautifully toasted bun. It's a "perfect bite" kind of roll that I'm still thinking about days later. * Clam Chowder: We also tried the chowder, which was hot, creamy, and very tasty--a great starter, but the lobster roll is the true star here. The Experience: It's rustic, authentic, and exactly what you want a lobster shack to be. The staff is friendly, and it's a great, casual spot to hit after walking the Marginal Way. The Verdict: If you only have one lobster roll while in Ogunquit, make it this one. High quality, generous portions, and a great atmosphere. We'll be dreaming about this meal until our next trip North!

Gosh, you just hope you made a memorable choice for the right reasons. We did - we both felt we not only received value for our dining dollars, we felt cared for by the staff and satiated by the kitchen. People like sitting outside - so the reservations reflected that and we could only be seated inside. Was not a disappointment to be seated inside. I highly recommend this restaurant. I had a steak sandwich and my dining partner had a chicken sandwich. Both were really tasty and well prepared. We only had water to drink and that was not a problem. I feel many times if I don't order an app or a drink a server becomes less friendly. That wasn't our experience here. I don't believe in over rewarding a place - but I feel a 4.5 out of 5 is appropriate. Since I can't give that - I rounded up to 5.

The coconut corn chowder was fabulous as was the mushroom ragout. Definitely worth a visit!
