This is a typical bar with a bar menu. Most foods are burgers or fried. The food was good but not great. Service was good, but it was busy. It was also very loud and I would not recommend it if you want to talk to your friends. It is good for large groups. Kitchen stays open later than most places. read more

We flew in to Minneapolis from NY at 10AM could not check into Hotel so we decided to get food. Almost all restaurants open at 4PM. We walked past Lyons and the kind man said we open at 11AM but you can come in and have a drink. He was so nice. We had Chili very good, Chicken tenders that were ok and Fish & chips that were amazing so good! The best part was the ice cold Leinies were had. The bar was at the center of the bar and beautiful. Lyons Pub keeps its simple and this accounts for them being in business for so long. You walk in and take a step back in time to a old world bar decor that has a hint of medieval charm. You can look forward to their complimentary popcorn and wide variety of beers to boot. What I found interesting is the fact that the bar represents the Nebraska Huskers right in the heart of Minneapolis. I usually stick to their Wyds cider as my go to happy hour drink at Lyons and have not had their Taco Tuesday special or Burgers but it is nice to know that your local happy hour spot has a solid breakfast menu! At breakfast after the heart walk, I thoroughly enjoyed their "Killer Krossaint" with a side of cheese hash browns. This side looked liked a casserole or even a solid piece of mac and cheese and it was really good. I love a good Croissant and theirs hit the spot! Good service, clean restrooms and a nice overflow room in their Lyons Saloon and Eatery, just in case the bar area gets too tight makes Lyons an easy, chill and, casual hang out spot. read more

While walking around killing time after a meeting submitted upon this place. Great weather so wanted to sit outdoors & have a drink. Server was very attentive & chatted for a bit (it was fairly slow so he wasn't taking away from other customers). Drinks were perfectly poured and the appetizer was excellent. This place was conveniently located to our hotel the Radisson Blu in downtown, so it was a no brainer to have a few drinks and have a safe walk back to the hotel. I didn't get to try any of their food, but the service was good and they have outdoor seating and the let you smoke for all you smokers out there. Actually all of Minneapolis allows you to do so in their outdoor patio areas as far as I can tell. read more

If you're a Huskers fan, this is the spot to watch the game. Came here after halftime to watch the 'Skers kick around Minnesota, giving Coach Frost his first win as head coach at Nebraska. Lyons Pub has a British Pub feel to it, naturally, with lots of dark woods and muted tones packing in several areas of cozy seating. The food is basic pub grub, too. We ordered mozzarella sticks and chicken strips because apparently it was an eat-like-an-eight-year-old type of day. Of course, we paired it with beer and liquor, because we actually are adults. But hey 5 stars because the Huskers won and I got to double high-five like four different people! Otherwise, a very decent spot for a bite/drink if you're in downtown Minneapolis. read more

Went there on a Wednesday night Not busy at all. Ordered the fish and chips. Took nearly a half hour before they came out. Even the server commented "they must have been out catching the fish." When the meal arrived the fish was heavily breaded and over fried. The fries were not crispy. A real disappointment for an Irish pub! read more

This place was very big. There were two bars. This was a Nebraska bar and the place was nuts as we were there during a Nebraska football game. It was a great atmosphere. The service was good and everything came out in a timely matter. There was also a popcorn machine. The popcorn was real solid. I ordered the RBC burger with fries ($9). The burger came with buffalo wing sauce, frizzled onions and house made bleu cheese dressing on the side. The burger was cooked like I wanted, but it was very thin. The buffalo sauce combined with the bleu cheese dressing was great. The bleu cheese dressing was one of the best bleu cheeses I have tasted. I dipped my fries and popcorn in the dressing. That was how much I liked this bleu cheese. The fries were tasty as well. Will I go back? Yeah, definitely. read more

Connected to the Embassy Suites, this was bar was super convenient for me. As a Tennessean, the 40-degree weather in October was a bit much for me so appreciated the fact that I didn't have to venture outside to get in the restaurant. TVs are all over the place so it seems like a great place to gather with friends and watch the game. I ordered food to go, but it was still brought to me on a plate as I was dining in. We stayed at the hotel right next door and popped in for lunch one day. Garrett was our server and he was wonderful! Very attentive and offered recommendations for lunch, which were perfect! I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and it was awesome! VERY generous portions so it could easily be shared. Made the mistake of listening to the receptionist at the hotel i was staying at, but the more i think about it i think they might be in co-hoots! The place is pleasant enough and our server was very friendly but the food was a real let down. I went with the reuben, the corned beef was fatty and way too chewy, i ended up with napkins full of partially chewed meat, the bread was ok but the fries were a let down too, way too thin and limp although very brown which you would have thought would have made them crispy. #2 went with the special of the day, chicken taco's, again, not impressed but had no comment, #3 went with grilled chicken salad and made sure to ask if the chicken was served warm on the salad which he was assured was, well it wasn't so it was sent back for warming (microwaving probably) #4 got a chicken sandwich and commented it was very dry and the bread was a little stale.. Nice place for a beer or two, after saying that 3 of us got Guinness and we all thought it tasted a little watery. There are plenty of options for these kinds of bar's in Minneapolis so they really should up their game..... read more

Service is friendly, good place to watch a game, lots of tvs. The beer on tap wasn't very cold, sadly, because they have a decent selection. For food, we tried the cheese sticks and wings for appetizers, both were solid. My coworker had the french dip and it was inedible, basically shoe leather. He eats anything and couldn't eat this, however they did end up comping it. I had the beer cheese soup which was really good and half a greek salad, it was so-so. All in all, come here for apps and beer cheese soup, skip the rest. read more

This restaurant upholds the city of Minneapolis mandate to either have your covid vaccine card or documentation of a negative covid test maximum 48 old, in order to dine-in. My friend and I ordered to-go since he didn't have either document. The bartender let us sit at the bar with our masks while we waited for the food. I ended up getting their grilled chicken sandwich with Swiss and bacon on an onion bun with a cup of fruit on the side. Lyon's Pub is your pub at the other end of Nic to the Local and Brit's. It has two personalities - a dated older pub with handled pint glasses on one side (think panelling, picnic-style tables), and an authentic pub serving traditional pints on the other (think dark wood, high tops, chalkboard menus). So pick your style. Lots of beers on tap, friendly service, and nice outdoor street seating. There is a large menu and I do think that the food at The Local and Brits is better, but still a solid selection of burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers. And always free popcorn! read more

I just stopped in for a quick brew but I felt comfortable in this place. It was nice and clean up scale and the service was friendly and quick! If I had more time I would have stayed for something to eat the few things I saw looked delicious. Full bar and they served quite a variety on a mid day Saturday. I saw the free popcorn but I was not interested, nice touch tough. If you like the wood work and craftsmanship of bars and tables this is a nice place to visit. It was not a very bright place but I would not call it dark either because of plenty of windows. read more

The prices are just what you should expect from a bar in Downtown and the HH is great, as a matter of fact, they have daily drink and food specials. The food is average but its bar food, so it's just right. The atmosphere? Its great -- they have enough TV's to make sure you catch your game while grubbin' on free popcorn but beware, this is a Huskers bar so if they're playing be ready for loud red-wearing fans. Overall, Lyons is a great place to grab a cold beer, free popcorn, and catch your game on TV while unwinding from a long day of work or before catching a Twins game -- or in my case, after a GOD-I-had-a-long-day-at-work-jog. read more
