Service, ambiance, atmosphere and wine is what you will find at this location. There are some foo foo small bite foods available as well but I did not get into those upon my initial visit. This is a lovely fairly recent addition to Highland Park and one that I recommend you explore. If the name sounds familiar, it should. There are two other locations you may very well be familiar with, one on Waukegan road in Wheeling, and the other in Roselle. I would recommend starting with a flight to get a better feel for the range of wines they offer. There are your expected staples, along with some more aperitif sweeter options. Some of my faves this visit were the Tempranillo 2019,Sauvignon blanc, and the Syrah. The sweets were honestly too sweet for this kid. There is a wine club that you can join and I recommend that you do, we did! If you are looking for a third place to catch up with friends or family, the HP location will definitely lend itself well. Also take advantage of Wine Down Wednesdays for additional deals as well. If you happen to be visiting The Lot for an event, caddy corner across the street, this venue is literally steps away, be sure to stop in and say hello. If needed, the parking across from the venue allows three hours free.

On a cold Saturday afternoon, my wife and I decided to putts around the area. During our adventure, we came across Lynfred Winery in Highland Park. As we entered we were greeted with friendliness. The staff was very knowledgeable about the varieties of wine, educating both my wife and I about the different tasting options that Lynfred offers. We stayed for a few hours chatting away, enjoying our wine flights. By the end of the evening, we left with a bottle of delicious blueberry wine. If you enjoy wine tastings and are in the area, I recommend giving Lynfred a chance. It was a very cozy and enjoyable experience.

    Cheers from Lynfred Highland Park!

We have been regulars at Lynfred Roselle since 2007, and are in love with their red wines. However, what's even better than their wine is the ambiance and the people! We went to the Highland Park location this past Tuesday, to support Christina Heller (the marketing director) who was giving the managers of the HP tasting room the day off, and pouring wine herself. That's how awesome this winery is! And the HP tasting room is as wonderful as their other locations. Just a beautiful, comfy ambiance, with the great wines that Lynfred is known for! If you are in the area, stop in for a treat!

Feather Glass Wine Bar & Eatery - Vernon Hills, IL…read more Overall Rating: Highly Recommended Feather Glass is a fantastic spot that nails the wine bar experience with a beautiful, modern aesthetic and top-tier service. While the food is incredibly tasty, a few minor tweaks to the composition and seasoning of certain dishes would make the experience truly flawless. The Highlights: Drinks, Ambience, & Service * The Flights: We thoroughly enjoyed both the wine and mimosa flights. They are well-curated, beautifully presented, and a great way to sample their extensive selection. * Atmosphere: The ambience is excellent and sophisticated, making it one of the most visually appealing spots in Vernon Hills. * Service: The staff provides excellent service--attentive and professional throughout the entire meal. Food Feedback & Suggestions * Mediterranean Flatbread: Very flavorful, but the olives can make it quite salty. Adding a balsamic glaze would provide a sweet contrast to balance out the saltiness. * Beet Salad: Features fresh, high-quality ingredients. This dish would benefit from a touch more salt and a bit more acid (like a bright vinegar) in the dressing to really highlight the earthy beets. * Paneer Palak Bites: A delicious fusion idea, but the execution was slightly misleading and difficult to eat. The bread lacked the expected toasted crispiness, and because the paneer is served in a thin slice, it often slides off, leaving the sauce on the plate. * Suggestion: Try chopping the paneer into small cubes, bruschetta-style, and mixing them directly with the sauce. Layering that mixture onto a properly toasted baguette would create a much more stable and crunchy bite while keeping the great texture of the cheese. Final Verdict Despite these small suggestions, this is a great restaurant that you should definitely check out. The flavors are delicious and the overall experience is wonderful.

As this was just down the street from our office in the Kemper Business District, she thought this would be a cool place to hang out to recap the year for our department and she was right. The place itself is a cute house with what looks like a cool outdoor space, when the weather is nicer. Inside is a small bar when you first walk through the front door. We we seated in a small room off from the main bar, next to a lovely fireplace. We started out with charcuterie boards. Prices range from 4 pieces for $30, 6 pieces for $46 and 8 pieces for $58. The selection of meats and cheeses and were very nice, but the prices seemed steep. The cheeses and meats were as follows: Wooley Rind (Green Dirt Farm) - soft ripened sheep's milk MontAmore (Sartori) - semi firm Italian style Cheddar Goat Gouda (Central Coast Creamery) - crumbly aged goat cheese "Creamy Sexy Blue" - German triple cream cow's milk with blue veining Jamon Serrano, aged 24 months Stagberry - Elk Salami with dried blueberries Finocchiona - Tuscan style salami with fennel seed Pig & Fig Terrine - Country style pork pate with dried figs, cinnamon, ginger All were very good and had a lovely flavor. Due to the number of people nibbling, I asked for extra bread and was treated with toasted sourdough, which was very nice. For dinner, I got the Chicken Tinga Panini (Tomato-Chipotle Chicken, Queso Oaxaca, Arugula, served with Salsa Verde & Guacamole). This was a very good sandwich. I loved the idea of Chicken Tinga in a sandwich format, and it worked. I had saved half of it to take home to have for breakfast the next day, but got wrapped up in good-byes and walked out and left it. Man I was mad! My manager ordered the Roasted Beets (with whipped Feta cheese, toasted pistachios, red onion, dill and a red wine vinaigrette). The serving was huge! She loves beets and said that the dish was very good A few people got the Broccoli Cheddar soup and said it was very good. I wanted to try the oysters as I love East Coast ones, but at $20 for 6, couldn't wrap my mind around that. The wine list was pretty good and on this particular night, we got bottles for a crazy low price. My manager got a bottle of red (can't remember the name) that was $75, but she got it for half price. Same for me for a lovely bottle of sparkling rose. The hostess had a list of wines on her tablet that she showed us as well that were 50% off. The location is quite a drive from Chicago, but the times I have to go to Lake Zurich for team meetings, I may just stop in to camp out for eats and drinks while waiting for my Uber and rush hour traffic to die out.

So we came here on a random Friday night to test our luck to get a table at 7 o'clock for two people. We got lucky and got to sit inside because that's where we wanted to sit although they do have sidewalk or outdoor seating as well. I thought sitting inside would be cooler, but I was wrong as all the doors and windows were open and I don't believe the AC was on at all. Well, the menu is pretty extensive. I will say that a vegetarian could definitely eat here as well as anyone else. This is our first visit here and as you can tell from the photos ordered quite a bit of food. And typical top of style the portions are pretty small, but they are meant to be shared. It was actually too much food for two people who were already hungry. Some of the standouts were definitely the meatballs and the salad salads. The jamon iberico was absolutely incredible. Not pictured was the picture of sangria we ordered. We got the rosé and to be quite honest with all of the heat. It actually watered down way too quickly. And it also came in a plastic picture, which was a bit of a turn off. The shrimp with garlic was good, but the garlic was hard to taste because it was also covered or doused in a lot of tomato base or tomato sauce. I was really looking forward to a very clear buttery or olive oil sauce that was saturated with garlic. The mushrooms were OK as well, but again too much tomato in this dish that I'm not used to. The potatoes were also very tasty and well seasoned, and the sauce on it was just right. I think this is a good option for people who want top us in the suburbs however, I will say that I hope they do some tweaking to the recipes as well so that they have something that truly makes them stand out and unique.
