Came in town for a wedding and went here to get a quick dip manicure. I'm not sure if it's bad product or untrained staff but my nails didn't last more than 2 hours. I went in for a dip manicure and the first tech put dip fully on and took it off FULLY twice. He informed Mr Tim (I believe that was his name) that the product was bad. On the third attempt I said I was fine with gel because I was running late to a wedding. On the third attempt Mr Tim did my nails. They were okay but after spending more than two hours in there, my nails were already crackling on my drive back to my hotel. It's now 3am as I'm preparing to head home on a flight and there are parts of my nails that are chipped. It's barely been 12 hours since completion. I understand things happen and the staff was friendly and professional but spending my money and so much time is disappointing when I feel like both were wasted. read more

I filled the punch card and received $20off a Service however they refused to honor it a previous visit. When they do honor the $20 we go back and forth about the $5 coupon as well. My daughter visited the salon just hours after getting a fill elsewhere. She didn't like the color she chose so she went to Luxury Nails for a polish change. She asked for a polish change ONLY, as she just had a fill hours earlier. She was charged $72 by the man at seat #10 for a polish change! I feel she was taken advantage of because she is a teen. I visited the salon the next day to ask for an explanation and was told I just wanted to complain. Be VERY careful here, and make sure you ask EXACTLY what the price is before you get serviced. The staff is very nice. The place looks nice and updated. I wanted my names to look like they were French tip but instead of white to be glittered and showed them pictures. They couldn't understand what I wanted. So I got cat eyes instead. She also filed my nails down instead of keeping them at their length. And charged me additional $41 for my nails. When I asked isn't it part of the mani/pedi she said since I used shellac on my hands it's an additional charge. By the way, she did cut my cuticles but no hand massage, no oils or lotions on my hands either. I had a mani/pedi. I asked for the volcano mani/pedi. It was suppose to be all these different things. My daughter asked for the regular pedi. They did the same thing to her that I had done but maybe one or two different packages that they used on me. They added something to the water and then a different scrub. That was it. Her's was $33 mine $61. When the tech painted my nails I didn't notice until I got home but 3 of the nails didn't have paint on the corners of my nails. They did such a thorough job. I loved how the medicine went, the technician working on my nails was amazing and very careful. She was very gentle despite how ticklish I felt. I did the traditional pedicure and a shellac manicure. My feet look & feet amazing. However, I do wish I got an additional coat of nail polish on my toe nails. Regardless, they look so nice. The shellac manicure looks gorgeous. I think the only thing I didn't like was when I was asked what color, the tech was like "too light" and that discouraged me and made me choose another color. I initially wanted to paint my nails an off white color, something that's still white but with just a hint of color. I ended up choosing this nude, beige, color and it looks great too. I have been to this place 3 times. I've had a pedicure and my nails done with shellac. I also experimented with having my eyelashes done here and even my eyebrows. My eyelash experience was not good. They went on just fine, but really burned my eyes, so I came back the next day to have them taken off and they charged me for this! Not only that, but the lady literally kept ripping them off when she could clearly see I was hurting. I simply made my mind up I would never torture myself this way again. Next, the nails... While the quality is ok, I'm disturbed that they don't do basic things, like cuticle cleanup... this comes standard in most every salon I have ever stepped foot in, but not this place. I even came back a second and third time to see if it just happened to be a fluke experience... sadly, no. I'm not sure if this is because they are always in a hurry because they don't take appointments, but I'm disappointed in the hurried nature of this place. I was visiting family for my cousin funeral and needed a manicure & pedicure when I walked in they took me pretty fast I did have an appointment for both. Sat in massage chair which was nice and relaxing I don't know the lady's name but she didn't speak good English and was very ruff with my feet she used a hard stone and just was rubbing so hard it was hurting me well I said it hurts I look down and I am bleeding on side of my heel. She said Ohhhh! and then put some kind of stuff that burned on my heel and just moved to the other foot like it was nothing. So when she starting doing the French pedicure I told her I don't want the pink color but only clear well she put the pink just was not what I paid for $66 plus $10 tip so another lady came and did my hands (nails French I thought they looks so nice but 3 days later all the French white line came off so disappointed gave her $10 tip as well too so it cost me $86 which wasn't worth it at all. Needed a repair and couldn't get to my shop in Sterling Heights so I stopped at this place. I was charged $10 for one nail being fixed with a color that's not even the color that I have. And when I asked her to just change the whole set to the new color she tried to charge me $35. $35 for a shellac color change! I pay that much for a fill and shellac! When i first sat down, she tried to play me and charge me just to cut my nail down and file it. My nail had broken so even by cutting it down, it was super uneven and she was going to let me walk out like that. I'm really over there Asian nail salons. They let your nails look any way as long as they're getting paid for it. read more

I go with a friend of mine and it gives us time to relax and chat at the same time. We both indulged in the Volcano Spa Pedicure. I had a manicure done as well. I got the $31 mani-pedi two weeks ago. My finger nails chipped off within the first few days and honestly they didn't look too good when I walked out of the place. The manicurist was struggling with the almost empty - and probably very old - bottle. I noticed it was pretty empty when I picked it but when I looked around for a different pale pink color there were none! It took the manicurist until the end to go to the back and grab a new bottle which left me with a weird layering on my nails. Although my fingernails didn't look great it's my pedicure that I'm more disappointed in. I cover my toes with ballet slippers everyday at work and normally my pedicures last for months. This is the first time that a pedicure looks terrible within two weeks. I don't like to get my nails done that often so it's very disappointing. On the positive side, the place does have nice massage chairs and it is conveniently located at Fairlane Mall. Also, I have gone a couple of times before and the pedicure has lasted longer. I've also recommended this place to my friends and they are just as pleased with them as I am. They become very busy around 4pm so I suggest to avoid the long wait go when they open or early afternoon to get in and get out. The best way to get there is the entrance to LA Fitness, which is right in between upper Macy's and JCPenny's. The man who did my nails was not understanding that I wanted my nails pointier and could barely understand. Terrible service! I have never paid $59 for a pedicure but that was the least of my worries! Came in on Friday and spent a total of $260.00 plus tips on services here. Paid $49 plus tip for a mail overlay. The gel polish is over my cuticle and skin. The process took 1.5 hours long. The acrylic overlay is super thick and lumpy. I am on vacation and am a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician, makeup artist and nail tech. This is a high priced site for less than great techniques. My nails are lumpy and thick. Came in today Tuesday to get my daughters nail fixed that broke on Sunday!!! Asked them to fix my nails. They said they couldn't to come back tomorrow and have the same lady work on my nails.... She didn't do good the first time why would I come back??? Here's the pics. Don't waste your time or money here!!! I escaped a conference at a nearby hotel for a couple hours hanging out at the mall. I figured, random mani-pedi would be just the thing. I got the $31 special, which is important to know. Still, my experience was kind of questionable. Here's a pic of my mani. Not great, but I could've done better myself. She literally took less than 90 seconds to file and shape. The whole mani took about 5 minutes. The pedi was good and did include a hot stone massage which was nice. Afterward I was left in the chair and had to climb down and find the light table myself and walk there in my bare feet (ewwwww!) Anyhow. I should have read the reviews before going... I have never felt the need to review a nail place before but I have never imagined a manicure and pedicure could be this awful. I came out with nails that looked worse than what my 6 year old could have done. The entire experience was unbelievably bad -- the lady did not pay any attention to what she was doing, she cut the side of my foot with the grater/file, cut and filed the nails very unevenly and filed some below my nail line (painful!) and applied the polish unevenly, managing to miss portions of some nails while streaking/bubbling of others. I payed for the fanciest package but there was no "massage", the "hot stone" therapy was literally being hit with stones for a few seconds. I left feeling the opposite of relaxed -- like I had just been beat up! Can't believe I payed for this. Also they use unsanitary practices, I saw the technician pull several tools out of the bottom drawer of her workstation and put them back in the bottom drawer organizer after using them on me -- yuck! read more

After receiving a pedicure from Luxury Nails & Spa I developed and was consequently treated for athletes foot. At the time, I did not connect this salon with my diagnosis. After extensive treatment and a year without a pedicure I returned.... I got my usual manicure... and I added on a pedicure, a day later while on vacation I developed painful blisters on my two big toes. My doctor treated me for a toe infection with an antibiotic. I don't know how or why this keeps happening, but I believe that the staff isn't knowledgeable about how to properly perform a pedicure, or they aren't cleaning their bowls thoroughly. My mom and I waited patiently in line for about thirty minutes. When it was our turn, we notified the front desk we both were in need of a pedicure and manicure. They had one technician working on both our nails while they were taking new customers for pedicures. We expressed our concern - a more logical solution would have been to have started with a pedicure for myself or mother while the other worked on nails. This was not the case. While my mom had her nails done, we waited an additional 30 minutes for a pedicure - again, as they are accepting new customers. I decided to go here because it was right after the snow storm & my normal place was too far. Never again. First of all, I had to have the tech reshape my nails so many times, and still ended up hating them, I just told him forget it. I had two nails that broke off so I had to get some tips...he made those two nails so big & boxy. Then he used a different color than what I had on my toes..I didn't even realize while he was doing it because of the glare. How did he end up getting a whole different color? Due to convenience, I decided to stop and get a quick manicure. The place itself looks nice and is a big open space. Too bad, the service doesn't match up to the decor. The manicurist rushed the entire process. The hand massage wasn't a massage. She just pulled each finger and that was it. When she started painting my nails she started telling me shellac is better, why don't you do a pedicure, etc. just kept trying to sell me. Once she was done, I just wanted to get out of there. I noticed she didn't polish the sides on most of my nails either, nor did she clean the polish off of my skin. Would I come back? Only if I'm desperate and need a quick polish change. This is the furthest thing from "luxury". Absolutely the worst manicure and pedicure EVER!!! It was so bad I could not even let the guy finish the job. First, The pedicure water was barely warm. I asked that it be made warmer and he did nothing. My toenails were trimmed and filed improperly. When it was time to cut my cuticles it hurt and I bled! As far as exfoliating my feet, I think that step was missed. It's when he finally got to my hands and started pushing at the cuticles without even letting my hands soak that I had to call it quits. I doubt the cuticle trimmers were even sharp because he kept pulling and ripping my cuticles. I have several cuts in my cuticles as a result. On a side note, the place could be a bit cleaner.
