This spa is beautiful. Clean, modern, smells amazing, a very relaxing atmosphere. As soon as you open the door, you are greeted by a long lit hallway that feels a little like you're entering a different dimension. Exactly what I need. Upon entering, you start in their little gift shop area - they have tons of really cute things. I was greeted warmly as soon as I came in, and I helped myself to the delicious spa water in the waiting area. My tech came and got me within 10 minutes. I just had a pedicure, but I really enjoy the whole spa vibe. My nail tech was very friendly and did a good job. No spa jets in the pedi bowls; good. I will be a regular and can't wait to try more of their offerings. Customer service is great - the woman who booked me was super friendly and even moved my appointment once with late notice. I came here 4/2/24 for my 30th birthday. I booked a 11am vitamin c facial followed by a 12pm massage. My facial with Rhonda was great! The massage was honestly awful. I barely felt the massage therapist hands and I continuously asked her to apply more pressure. I'm literally walking out of here just as tense as I walked in. They asked me how was my experience and I was honest. The manager told me she's their softest therapist and her massages are for people who don't like pressure. That's something they need to disclose prior to placing customers with her because I did not come in for an imaginary massage on my birthday lol. They offered me 25% off a product if I chose to purchase one however I declined. Anyway ambiance is nice but there are better places. This used to be the best spa in metro Detroit in my opinion, but it has gone down hill over the past few years. I think the main reason is the customer service, specifically how they treat customers. The services themselves are good though. I recently had a massage and although the massage itself was great, the massage therapist was somewhat rude. The front desk has had some of the same people for years and they are often rude. I have gone to Om many times over the past 10 years and I feel like they look down their noses at customers. This is disappointing because Om Spa offers a lot of different services. I will be looking for a new spa to frequent. read more

She's a professional, discreet, gentle (as much as you could be!), and caring. You'll be pulled in to the adornment of jewelry, scents, treatments, and CLOTHES they have for sale in the front and then seduced by the assortment of refreshments in the back. Honestly tired of the lack of communication by Om. I called and set an appointment said I didn't want it if I had to wear masks. They said you don't have to wear a mask. I arrived and they don't have you go in the waiting area or locker rooms anymore which is part of the experience because of Covid. I say fine, understandable; just wish I was told this before coming because that's one of my favorite parts. Then, I get welcomed in the back by my massage therapist who asked if I had any injections in the e last 48 hours. I said I had two allergy shots one in each arm yesterday morning. She said she would not massage those areas because of that. Ok, why again am I not asked these questions when booking? Lastly, she said I need to wear a mask. I said I called and they told me it wasn't required so I don't want the massage if I have to wear a mask. She said 'it's for my protection'. Get that but I've worn my mask everywhere that's why I called ahead to make sure. She brought me to the front desk who said oh, we don't require mask for facials but do require for massages. Again, not what I was told on the phone. I was pretty pleasant about everything until the massage therapist acted like I had the plague or something when I told her about my allergy shot and waving her hands in front of me saying 'it's for my protection'. Mind you, I've not even tried to take my mask off at this point. I'm just super frustrated because you take time to schedule and ask the questions you think you need to know but then are treated like you are dumb or a nuisance like... we never told you that. I initially came back to om spa because Lori was fantastic. There was a few months a while back, that I was actually a frequent customer that had appointments 2x times a month. However, today was an experience that I've never had before. The massage therapist barely worked on my back despite me explaining the knots she pointed out, is from working. She used her elbows for most of the back massage and it became painful at this point. I noticed that the other therapist was moving at a pace that seemed more reasonable. My partner really enjoyed their massage with Amy. Matter fact would return again. My therapist also moved around so much it was hard to focus on relaxing. I was tensing up by the time my therapist got down to my feet. Could I have spoken up? Yea, but at the time I wasn't sure if she could have been trying a different technique. Honestly, just not a good appointment. I should add that at one point it felt like she rushed the massage so fast, she ran out of things to do. It takes a lot to be upset about a massage lol. This was my first time here. My husband got me a prenatal massage for Valentine's Day so this was something I was looking forward to. The setting/mood is very nice and everyone was very friendly. Since this was a prenatal massage I was expecting a belly pillow but i had to lay on my side the whole time which was uncomfortable. Instead of being comfy and relaxed it made me kinda tense having to keep my balance on each side being 40 weeks pregnant. The pressure of the massage was good but my therapist kinda talked most of the time and i was looking for quiet time. Although she mostly talked about tips and tricks for baby which i liked, i would've loved some relaxation. I came for an hour massage and for their most expensive facial offered to treat myself for my birthday. I wasn't that pleased withe the quality of both my massage and facial especially that I have asked for their best available one. I wanted to see and feel a difference. But, I actually had more breakouts after words. I was rushed and time used on filling paper work and checking in was cut from my massage time. Both my masseuse and skin care consultant were nice and professional. They did their best, yet, with experience at many spas, I have expected more experience and higher end treatment. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... If I were a woman rich in both time and money, I'd probably just do yoga and get massages every day. Alas, I'm rich in neither time nor money at the moment, but I *am* rich in friends (aw!, but it's true). A group of really thoughtful folks got together and purchased me a gift card for Om Spa a little while back. I was so overwhelmed by this sweet sentiment, as well as a nutty schedule, that I didn't schedule anything right away. I wanted to look over the service menu, look over my schedule and figure out what opportunities I might take advantage of. Well, no surprise -- even after looking at all sorts of fancy nail and skin care options, massage won out. Specifically, a deep tissue massage. I had dropped by Om this fall, but had never had the opportunity to be an actual customer/guest, and from start to finish, the whole thing made me realize how people could really get hooked on more spa-style pampering. Before your massage, you change into a giant fluffy-cloud robe and put on sandals (plastic, more substantial than the usual pedicure ones). You can then relax in a little lounge area with low lighting and a variety of nibbles -- from healthy to chocolate. I didn't have time for tea, but did hydrate a bit with lemon-water and grab a little chocolate morsel. My massage was great -- I like a therapist who isn't afraid to really dig in when necessary, and since I know I have some problem areas from prior referred pain, he was very conscious to work on those areas but not painfully so. There was some pressure that required some deep breaths, but that is exactly what I want from a deep tissue massage! I left feeling like liquid. Sure, I had to drive through a snowstorm on the way to my next stop, but man... I don't think I've ever felt quite that relaxed and zen while facing an intense snow-covered I-94. Thanks to the friends who generously steered me towards Om Spa, and thanks to the staff and therapist there who were able to stress guest comfort without feeling overly foo-foo! I decided to treat my daughter and myself to a facial for me and a facial /massage for my daughter, because she was getting married June 3rd. I thought, since I lived in Dearborn for most of my life, I would go to Om Spa. Mystic was my place for facials, they closed during Covid. Amazing facials. So, with cost and reputation, I thought it would be amazing at Om Spa, and I wouldn't have to travel to Birmingham or W. Bloomfield. Boy, was I wrong. The facial room was to warm, so much less everything. Massage, products, just total facial care and ambiance. My daughter had a massage that was just mediocre to say the least. So, disappointing and what a sad wedding present. The clerical staff listened to our sad story and said the manager would call us and set up a redo, because they care about their customers, and want returning customers. Then I received my bill and they didn't take my $100 gift card off that my husband bought me. I called and they took care of it right away. She reiterated that a manager would call and setup a do over. Never, ever, happened. I would give a negative zero if possible. Om Spa is prejudiced towards people of color. I was deliberately sold a package of injections that did not address the concerns that I had specifically made known to the receptionist. I believe her name is Jennifer. Even after I told her that what she was suggesting was contrary to what I had read on the website, she insisted that I needed a different series of injections. On my fourth visit for an injection, the nurse inquired about my results and when I told told her my issues she said that I was getting the wrong injection. I told her that the receptionist had insisted that this was the injection that I needed and she replied, "she must have gotten confused." The only reason that I can think of to make her deliberately mislead me and flush $125.00 down the drain is because I am a person of color. I am on a fixed income and I cannot afford to throw away money. I will find another facility that will address my needs based on my humanity, not the color of my skin. I will let as many people of color as possible know to stay away from Om Spa. Additionally, this prejudiced receptionist cost you money, as well as wasting mine. The injection that I wanted and asked for, was more expensive than the one she insisted I needed. Take that $25 times perhaps 10 or 20 customers of color that she may have steered in the wrong direction and you have lost between $250-500. read more

Honestly I love this place so much. You walk in and the smell is heavenly. The orange glowing walls give a uniquely calming ambiance. Every staff person I've interacted with is polite and helpful. Every time I come I get either a Brazilian wax or a bikini plus wax from Jillian (who is honestly freakishly equal parts fast and chill during the whole thing). Jillian is a cool chick, she talks about anything you want and makes you feel comfortable during probably the most uncomfortable thing you can do with a perfect stranger. i've been here a couple times for couples messages with my husband. the spa is really nice, clean and everyone is friendly. they have robes and slippers in the locker rooms for each gender. there is also a shower in each locker room, however the second time i came the women's shower was out of order. they did not tell us that before the reservation, although i think they should just in case people want to wash off the excess oil after their massage. the massage therapists pay very close attention to your requests, which i appreciate. while you are waiting for your massage to start there is a lobby with complimentary snacks and beverages. the snacks vary but they have an assortment of pastries, fruits, teas, and water. the price point is a bit higher than most spas, but i don't mind because this place is great. read more

My $100 gift card (I have my Visa receipt) was misplaced in my own home for two years ago. Facts show that it was never used, yet this company will not deactivate it and issue me a new one. The man who answers the phone says that it is my loss. He will not even let me get through to the owner. This is so unethical. I just want to preface this by saying Jessica provided a perfect pedicure and this in no way is critical of her. I booked my appointment Monday June 21st. When I made my appointment I made it clear that I would be bringing my 20 month old toddler with me to my appointment (she has separation anxiety so a baby sitter is not an option). I had never been to this spa before and I haven't had trouble with her at any other time prior to this. I get to the salon this afternoon and was greeted by a very friendly and kind receptionist. When she had moment she showed me to the bathroom as well as the waiting area. From there Jessica grabbed me and my daughter and we were escorted to this tiny "pedicure room". My daughter was chatting very loudly. Jessica and I both made a point to explain to my toddler she needed to just keep it down. Jessica had mention that the hallway echoes incredibly loudly and massages take place on the other side of the wall. My daughter was not crying, screaming, throwing a fit, acting up, or anything of the sort just being a lot louder than necessary for the space. A man had peeked his head in about a quarter of the way through but didn't say anything about the noise. We go on about my appointment. randomly telling my daughter to shush periodically though out the last few minutes. One of the last times my daughter was being loud a blonde older woman peeked inside the door and say's "There are other massages going on in here. This is why you don't bring a baby to a spa." I replied twice I understand thank you. We are addressing the situation. Then proceeded to go into the next room and turn up the spa music so loudly I could feel it in the pillows behind my back. After she walked out Jessica threw on my paint and said I need to walk around the store until my toes dry, that I couldn't stay in the room it was too loud. I do not blame Jessica. I didn't want her to have to deal with being reprimanded for keeping us to long and obliged to get to the store. I know a spa isn't a jungle gym for children with bad behavior, or a music concert. However I had taken her to many pedicure appointments where they were happy to have her accompany me. I wish I had been made aware children were not welcome or recommended to accompany parents to appointments. My intention was never to interrupt anyone else in their relaxing massages. I didn't know it would have been so awful. I paid money just as well as everyone else in there and the way I felt when I left was absolutely uncalled for and completely disrespectful. I've been to Om for other service they were a bit over priced but I didn't have any major issues. Decided to book a shellac mani and regular pedi. I was quoted 87$ over the phone during booking. It was more expensive than my normal girl but Om is closer, my girl was booked and a 25 minute drive and I had already gone past my 3 week nail date. Once I arrived, they set me in the relaxation area to grab some water and waiting until the tech was ready for me. Once she did, she took me to a small area and began the soaking of the feet while she excused herself. She returned about 15 minutes later and so feather gently had a foot tool that I've seen in many cheap 5$ gift packs around Xmas that come with lotion and lip gloss... I didn't say anything thinking she would continue with a exfoliating stone, then she looked at my hands and said did you get those nails done here? if not it's 10$ to remove the shellac??? Should have went with my gut and said no thank you but didn't... always go with your gut! She put some exfoliating scrub on my feet, didn't go up the calves like most places .. and before I knew it was coloring my toes while giving her woes of single parenting and being bullied as a child. I could go on but will not, 24hrs in on shellac nail 2 are chipped and one is scuffed, skin hanging around my nails that I will clean up myself- and btw I've done no manual labor but I did wash a couple drinking glasses by hand. Waste of 112$ and unfortunately I tipped her with the thought of her struggling with 3 kids as she had pictures of their sweet faces up in her work area I need to quit feeling sorry for people regarding their "stories"- she's probably making more money than me. And the place is in disrepair for this facility... water leaks in nail area, bathroom has holes in the wall and water leak in the wall in the stall; very disappointed for the amount of money they charge. read more

FACT: there is no better way to spend 2 hours and $155 in the Detroit metro area than at Om Spa getting a massage and pedicure. All of my health problems in the 3+ years since I moved to Detroit have one common denominator: stress is the precipitant. Basically my muscles become hard as steel and refuse to release their death grip on my body. No amount of stretching, exercise, sleep, or alcochol (kidding!) can force them to stop contracting and just relax. Once I get to this point, I'm in a lot of pain. Luckily, Dmomma recognized her daughter as a hot stressed out mess and prescribed weekly deep tissue massages -- and I requested Om Spa for my therapy. The moment you walk in, you are treated as if you are the Queen. You are welcomed to the spa with a super coosh fluffy red robe, a relaxing room surrounded by bamboo, fully equipped snack bar with exotic teas, delicious pastries, and ice cold water. The pastries alone sold me! (Who makes these amazing treats? I need to know!) The beautiful amazingly strong masseuse, Annette, was my savior. When she breathes deep -- you breathe deep. You become in tune with each other as she forces your body to obey her energy -- and relax. Trust me, it was hard to be relaxed when she worked on a few parts of my body that were extremely painful to her touch -- but we take a breath, and I try to let the stress escape through the pain. After my first session with Annette she straight up told me what muscles she could feel in spasm -- including my iliotibial band. The fact she knew what ITB was, and that it was in constant contracture despite it not being my number 1 source of pain at the moment, REALLY impressed me. I later learned that Annette was (is?) a nurse! She actually worked for the OB/GYN practice next door. She's basically seen it all when it comes to a woman's body! She's completely aware of the importance of treating a patient/client. She is always conscientious of keeping you modest and keeping you comfortable. She will always ask you if you are comfortable (with her massaging your gluts, if the pressure of the massage is ok, etc). Annette helped me achieve what I call "jellyfish status" (squishy, free floating, and jellylike). There is no way you can walk out of here NOT looking like you are doped on up Valium. But it's not just Annette and the massage team that makes Om Spa AHHHH-mazing -- it's everything! Since it's spring and my feet are super gross -- I was LONG overdue for a pedicure. Karen, making feet beautiful extraordinaire, polished up my toesies, made my feet baby smooth, and my legs no longer looked like I was half reptile with my dry skin all gone! The green tea mask was super hydrating and gave my legs a youthful glow I haven't seen in a long time. And the salt scrub -- oh how I love the salt scrub! I haven't had a pedicure experience that I LOVED since I moved to Detroit. At $65 a pop, most people would shy away from it -- but not only are you paying for a SUPERB treat for your feet but you are paying for the experience! The pedicure chairs are gigantic over-sized fluffy couches where you are perched like the Queen that you are (I just need my corgis, crown, and scepter!). I think I'm hooked on monthly $65 green tea pedicures. Some quick tips about Om Spa: - the OB/GYN docs next door actually own Om Spa - you get points added to your account that you can later use towards other services (I'm up to $30 already! woo!) - they are actually open rather late for those of you needing a massage after work! - NO hair services - they do have dermatology services here - there are only coin meters directly surrounding the area (so bring change!), but if it's the weekend you can park where it says OB/GYN only or in the church lot (if they aren't in service) - you can wear underwear or not wear underwear during your massage -- totally up to your comfort level! - they have nice lockers and a shower with a ton of toiletries you can use - arrive 30 min early to your appointment so you have enough time to change, shower pre-massage (to loosen up those muscles if you so choose!), relax with a cup of tea, and eat some tasty treats! - there IS a cancellation fee if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice - this is the CLEANEST, most relaxing, nicest spa I've ever been to -- and they really take pride in that - TURN OFF YOUR CELLPHONE OR ELSE YOU WILL BE BANNED (no cell phones allowed in the relaxation area, I'm not sure if you'll be banned if your cellphone starts ringing "apple bottom jeans, boots with the fuurrrr" - but I will probably throw a cookie at your head in disapproval.) read more

I would really like to give this place 4 stars but I just cannot do it. The spa itself is a really nice facility. There is a cute boutique in the front and in the back is a totally calming and zen-like atmosphere. I had a waxing service and then got a mani/pedi with a friend. The waxing technician did a good job but seemed a little moody. The nail technicians were great - very chatty but not overwhelming. The reasons for only the 3 stars are: 1. As previously mentioned, moody and slightly arrogant waxing technician. 2. Very expensive. 3. The very first time I walked in, there were rude people at the reception counter. This review is for a Swedish massage and a mini facial only. I may be young, but I've experienced well over fifty massages in my lifetime so far (probably more). Meaning that I've been to many, many different massage establishments. Anywho, let's get started. Let's start with the changing room. Cute and small, not exactly how I like them. I'm sorry when there is only enough room for a shower, a small bathroom, and some lockers, along with two sinks. Yeah, not big enough. I personally don't like changing in front of the door to the hallway. But there wasn't a changing room so I didn't have much of a choice. Next, the "waiting room". Yes, I'll admit the decor was nice and hip looking, but I didn't like to "openness" of it. I personally don't like seeing employees constantly walking back and forth. Especially if they have loud, squeaky shoes. I thought this was supposed to be a relaxing setting? I decided to get an 80 minute Swedish massage and a mini facial (about 25 minutes). The Swedish massage was highly disappointing. First off, my masseuse smelled of smoke. Ugh, gross. Also, not only did it not feel like a Swedish massage, but the masseuse replaced the normal spa iPod with his own. The music wasn't relaxing at all. His iPod was playing Frou Frou (Imogen Heap) and Sigur Rós and I can assure you, that wasn't relaxing in the slightest. I also even had to ask him to turn the music down before evening starting the massage. Like I stated earlier, the massage didn't feel like a Swedish one at all. His pressure was much more than light to medium pressure. To the point of where he would massage one part of my body and then it would start to go numb because he was putting way too much pressure on it for too long. Honestly, for the amount of money I paid for this massage, it wasn't even close to worth it. I also thought that masseuses were supposed to be highly professional. Maybe he missed the memo? Along with the massage, I also got a head and scalp add on. It was okay. After the massage was over. I returned to the waiting area for my next appointment which was a mini facial. She found me about 5 minutes after my massage was over. She was charming and didn't smell of smoke, thank god. I really enjoyed the facial, it was relaxing. The best 25 minutes of my whole visit. Afterwards, I went back to take a shower in the tiny changing room. The upside is that they have plenty of hair sprays and hair products to put into your hair after a shower along with a hair dryer. But like I stated before, no private changing area. I then head out to the check out desk. Two employees are flirting at the counter when I get there. And one of them is surfing the internet. Seriously? I have never seen anything like this at any other spa. Clearly, professionalism is not known to any of these employees besides my facial specialist. This was my second time visiting Om spa as I am familiar with the area and the doctor that owns it. I had a friend visiting from LA and we decided to book a couples massage. I booked the 50 minute deep tissue for each. We arrived there at our exact appointment time even though it was recommended we arrive 30 minutes earlier to sit in the lounge area and eat the rotten grapes and stale pastries that they have provided. As I was changing into my robe the masseuse came into the changing area when I was standing there buck ass naked and told me to hurry up because they were running short on time as they were overbooked for the holidays. My mood was immediately shot after that. Cut to the massage which was what my guest and I were looking forward to for a week. The massage was so half assed and rushed. They finished way before the 50 minutes was over. When we got home my guest had the worst back pain and he had to take ibuprofen because the masseuse was pressing so hard on his back with her barbaric hands. I was so disappointed by their treatment this time around and I will definitely not be going back nor do I recommend it. I felt like a cow moving through an assembly line. Just returned from my first visit here and enjoyed it so much I came right home to Yelp about it! I had been holding on to a gift card for about a month or so when finally I had the urge to use it. I called on a whim to see if I'd be able to get in same-day and I did! From the moment you walk in the door you're immersed by the relaxing environment--I love the long hallway with orange lights, so cool! The entire experience was completely wonderful, from the fluffy bath robes to the wide variety of teas and snacks available, I was in my glory while waiting (if only all waiting rooms were this relaxing). My therapist was very friendly and walked me through my options, what I was looking for, etc. and was personable yet not too chatty like some places I've been. She did an excellent job focusing on the areas I asked her to and I was completely satisfied with my 50-min deep tissue. The only not-so-perfect part of my experience was that i was the last appointment of the day, so by the time I finished up with my therapist, the place was already cleaned up for the night--though they did leave the teas and snacks out for me which I greatly appreciated. However, I wanted to utilize the shower/pampering area after, but being they had already wiped everything down and cleaned it all for the next day I felt guilty dirtying it up again. Oh, and me not being familiar with the area, I parked on the street and paid for a meter only to find out there is a private lot--my bad. Overall, very impressed. Yes, they are a bit more expensive than other spas I've been to, but you get what you pay for! I'll definitely be returning. read more

I look forward to my weeks ending when I get to splurge and be pampered for a massage or exfoliation at Om Spa. The therapists are super nice, they really know what they are doing. They consult with you about problem areas on your body that you would like focus on before they begin. The best deep-tissue massages ever, and as they dig in they can feel the knots and just really focus on that area until they are satisfied. They communicate during the massage session with you, ask if your ok etc. I've fallen asleep many times, and woke up feeling great. Although I get a little embarrassed when I find out that I was sleeping and maybe let out a snore or two, they take it as a compliment....makes it all better! I'm about a week late with this review, but I wanted to comment. I don't have a ton of either money or time, so when I take the time for a spa visit, I want it to be worth both my money and my time. Om Spa is time and money well spent. The co-ed relaxation area was relaxing, and it had great snacks. There were even a couple of men and I felt fine just enjoying some peace and quiet in my robe. Talk about rest and relaxation! When you go into the locker room, you have a spacious locker area where you can place your belongings. Once you are done you head over to the relaxation area where you sit on lush furniture and help yourself to lemon water or tea as well as some finger treats which are delectable. Once you get into your massage room you are placed on a warm massage chair. WARM! With relaxing music, sensual smells and a luxurious massage to boot you are in HEAVEN! After your massage you can go back to the relaxation area or head back to the locker area where you can help yourself to the counter of fun salon products!! read more

Hands down the best spa in Dearborn. I go to this spa quite regularly for various treatments and have never had a complaint. Everyone was extremely nice and wants you to have a nice relaxing time. The manicurist are some of the best I have been to. They are very knowledge about their products and will never steer you in the wrong direction. read more
