Fantastic spa experience! Well, I'm lucky enough to have an awesome brother and a super awesome sis-in-law, who got me a gift certificate for Om Spa for Christmas. When looking through the menu, I didn't know where to start! I usually get pedicures and massages, but I wanted to try something new. I decided on a Ytsara Fruit & Flower Facial. Now, I'm not typically a facial girl, but I decided to splurge a bit. What a great decision! As someone already mentioned on here, a facial and massage within a relaxing 80 minutes. I also added on the Eye Mask for $30 and my eye area feels tight & moisturized. Regarding parking, there is a lot behind the spa (behind Michigan Ave.) and you can park in one of the OB/GYN parking spaces or park in the metered lot. Now, I didn't know about the metered lot and I didn't bring any change with me. And the friendly front desk staff was kind enough to give me change for the meter! After you've changed into your bathrobe and wrap in the locker room, you can go out the relaxation area and have a cup of tea, water and there are many snacks to choose from (whoever made those peanut butter balls, they are to die for!). After the facial, I sat in the relaxation area with a cup of tea to just soak everything in. I would definitely recommend coming here for a facial, especially the Ytsara facial. read more

Update 01/09/15 - We had the opportunity to try the spa again. This time we each had a facial, followed by a couples massage. Upon arrival, the desk staff was very friendly and pointed us into the direction of the changing rooms. The only issue with the changing rooms this time was that both male and female showers were not operational. This was a disappointment as we both like to shower after massages. We sat in the lounge for a few minutes and snacked on a few goodies that they had set out. The temperature was extremely comfortable, nice and warm on a cold January day. First up was our facials...mine was awesome! I don't often get facials, but this was one the best I've had. The therapist had me very relaxed. My wife had a good facial too, the only issue she had was the therapist was a little shaky and apologized to her at the end of the treatment saying she was nauseous. My wife did say that was one of the best facials too. After our 50 min facials, we were led back to the lounge where we waited for our couples massage. The only problem we had was a spa client that didn't turn off her cell phone and it rang and was answered loudly in the relaxation area. Luckily our therapists came out and got us after a few minutes. The massages were greatly improved this time around. We have had a lot of massages in the past few years and my wife said that this was one of her favorites. I was satisfied as well. Upon check out, Nathan asked about my wife's facial therapist and apologized for her not performing the whole treatment. He gave us a complimentary candle for home, which was extremely nice! Sounds like our complaints were addressed after our last visit. After this visit we will definitely return! Four stars now only because the showers were not functional. I have had a lot of different services here over the years, and every single one of them has been superb. I've had facials, body wraps, pedicures, and a massage. From the time you walk in the door you are in a relaxing environment. As everybody has said, the robes are divine, and the bathroom is fully stocked with product. The waiting area has a lot of delicious snacks and the teas are lovely. The service providers are always professional and always super good at what they do. It is a bit more expensive than other places, but you're paying the extra money for the great experience. Definitely a place I go when I need a treat. read more

Love this spa. I have been searching for a spa since Spa Juliana in Plymouth went out of business. My girlfriend had found a deal with the Dearborn Inn. They were offering a spa deal so we tried it out and fell in love. I have been back several times. They have a nice relaxation area, big fluffy robes and great service. My only recommendation is that the staff should introduce themselves, which they never once have done. They are friendly and polite. I have had a massage and two different facials. My husband has had a pedicure and a foot massage. A must try if you are in the area. read more

I've been to this place twice and think it's not worth the money. I've tried a few different technicians and they both weren't concerned about actually doing the work. I think it's very overpriced for the bare work they do. My husband and I had an appointment with Om Spa for a massage and a facial. When we arrived we were told masks were required throughout the building, which we had no problem with. Then we were informed that the changing rooms were not in use. When the therapist Michelle came out for my husband for his massage, she informed that he had to wear his mask while the 80 minute massage was being given. With the CDC ruling that masks are not mandatory for indoor use, she said it was a private Company and they could do whatever they wanted. We did not stay for our services. ALL of this should have been disclosed to us when the appointment was made, and we wouldn't have made the appointments. We drove all the way from Novi to Dearborn and was very disappointed. Also, they no longer have the tea and snacks in the mediation room and we were told you have to change in the room where you are having your service. They use to give you a locker with a nice robe and this is no longer done. It wasn't a very pleasant experience and I just want people to know if they are considering Om Spa for a spa service, It is not what it use to be! We will not be returning any time soon. read more

I haven't been to this spa in a year or so, but I consider it one of my favorites in metro Detroit. It's a high-concept space especially for Dearborn and for Michigan in general, and to that end, I think the spa is quite successful. Parking is in the back of the building and a long, narrow hallway takes you to the reception area. Plenty of products to examine and entice you. You're taken through a large wooden door to the spa area inside, which is a dimly lit, serene, Asian-inspired space with slate tiles and bamboo plants lining the lounge. The women's bathroom has large lockers and HEAVENLY bathrobes. Also a fantastic rainfall shower - don't really like the products there, though. It is poorly situated, though, as the door directly faces the entrance into the spa from the reception area; I've either hunched behind the door to change or gone into the bathroom, for fear of turning my spa experience into a peepshow for other patrons (and they just really don't need to deal with that). To the left of the bathroom as you're walking out is the mani/pedi room. Great pedicures. The lounge/relaxation area has always been quiet and uncramped whenever I've visited. I've had meals sent over from Crave as well (yummy!). Well-stocked with spa water, tea, snacks, sometimes wine. I've had pretty much all of the massage treatments and love them. My favorite is the Peaceful Warrior/Thai massage followed by the deep tissue. I've had a few facials and even a few waxes there too. All of the therapists and estheticians have been professional and accommodating. Should really pay them another visit - it's been too long. read more

I went for a couple pedicures here and had been generally pleased with my experience --until my third visit when the technician over-trimmed my cuticle which led to an infection. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned but when I visited another tech (3 weeks later), she confirmed that the cuticle was over trimmed and still damaged. She suggested neosporin (duh) but forgot to mention that it would make the polish fade so after $90 + one infection + a discolored nail later, I'd say I'm done here. read more

I tried something very new to me today! At Om Spa I saw that they were offering a new service called Reiki... I have heard of it before, but I was skeptical. I received a gift card from a friend and decided "Why Not?" and selected the Reiki and Chakra Balancing Treatment. I went in to the service with an open mind. The Therapist, Nathan was very kind and professional and calmed my skepticism almost instantly. To be honest I didn't know what to expect at all! I followed Nathan's advice on relaxing and letting go as best as I could although for my busy mind it was difficult. To say the least the service was amazing. When it was over I felt completely revitalized and renewed. After the service ended Nathan and I talked briefly to reflect on the treatment and I was given Insightful information about my "Energies". I absolutely loved my time at Om Spa. My husband sent me for a day of relaxation as a Valentine's Day gift. I had four treatments done. I would recommend Olivia for a Vitamin C facial. She's is amazing and a fantasticly gifted and empathetic person. Angie gave me a pedi/mani and not only did a superb job, but was also great conversation and very kind. My deep tissue massage and scalp treatment were what dreams are made of. They served complimentary chocolate covered strawberries, truffles, and numerous other tasty treats with champagne, tea, or fruit infused water. The actual spa services are a 5-out-of-5. Excellent! HOWEVER, THE WEBSITE IS A ONLY A 2. Why? 01) Not all services listed on the main menu are available for booking on the "pull down tabs". Cumbersome and frustrating to use. 02) No way for a person to book her entire group using the website. I would think this is a common procedure for a lot of customers. Suggestion: Web site seems a little on the primitive (1990's) side and could probably use a more professional look and functional design. Hi, I got my first facial here today by Jillian, whom I recommend to anyone who wants to get a customized facial according to the state of their skin. For example, mine is oily so we went with what matched my needs. She knew so much about everything and it was so relaxing and fun. This place is a very comforting atmosphere to be in, and honestly outright healing. What a great place. I was really blessed to come to know this spa and have it work out the first time around. I don't plan on ever considering going anywhere else. Zaid was extremely helpful at the front desk, going literally above and beyond with wrapping gift bags. It made me feel at home. As my first experience, it was a very happy one. I would say that if you need positive energy from people with genuine personalities, to come here. I have trouble relaxing and many "spas" that I've visited have provided great services but I leave still thinking about the same to-do list I came in with. Om Spa is a complete exception! Walking in through a hued, reddish hallway, you feel as if you're being transported. It feels like the vibe will be contemporary and barren, but once you enter the spa, you realize they have tapped into the Eastern practices for both services and decor. Come early! After check in you will change into a plush robe and have an opportunity to snack on fruits and snacks and begin your relaxation with a cup of tea or infused water. Their lounge truly forces you to unwind and immerses you into a quiet, relaxing ambiance. I've had two of their Vichy shower based treatments and promise that if you get one, you will not leave disappointed. I highly recommend the thai body scrub and masque which is 90 minutes of bliss! Yelp offered me a $50 for $39 discount and front desk informed me that if I check Yelp before my next visit there may be similar offerings.... Prices for services are comparable to other spas but instead of offering great services, Om offers a comprehensive mind AND body experience that will leave you feeling rejuvenated. Just returned home from a visit to Om, and this time my experience was very review worthy. I booked three hours of different services for myself and my boyfriend (he was paying, so why go light). My therapist was Andrew. Young, sexy, nice hair. I have no idea who my man was with, I am a little self-absorbed. My initial massage was good, not the most mind-blowing, but good. I realized later that I had over booked and so the Swedish didn't need to be any more than a warm up for the other 2 hours of bliss. I do NOT think a solo massage would have been lacking. The following body treatments? Aaahhmazing. Andrew was very sensual. Not in an illegal way. Just deliciously intimate in the way that body work can be when it's obvious that someone enjoys their work. I hated when it was over. I was left without any functioning brain power, but managed to make it back to the dressing room. The overall look of OM is trendy and zen, almost high end but not frilly like the spas on my side of town. The relaxation/sitting area was pleasant and clean, complete with organic teas, fresh lemon water and a wide variety of munchies. The dressing area was small, but well stocked and also clean. My only issues were the sandals- please replace these, and the lockers- please wipe these out. Other than those minor flaws, this is a great spa for Michigan. I get it, Brazilian waxes are going to be bad no matter what, but they should really inform you that if it is "that time of the month" and you get waxed that your vagina will look like a hot mess-especially when you are GETTING MARRIED in a couple days. I had the Thai Body Masque and Scrub with Lori, and I was absolutely impressed with my entire experience at Om Spa. The dressing room was clean and well-stocked with various products, including disposable underwear (which I will explain in a moment). The spa wear includes a huge, comfy robe and robust rubber thong sandals. I will admit that it IS a little unnerving to change in a space directly in front of the door to the hallway - that seems like a design flaw on Om's part. Maybe a partition could be installed to make guests feel it is more private? Otherwise, I felt comfortable leaving my belongings in the generously-sized lockers. There is also a shower available for those interested. The waiting area is, admittedly, NOT a place you would want to lounge/relax indefinitely, but it IS quite nice. There are leather couches, chairs, and benches to sit on and, yes, it is "open," but it's not like you HAVE to talk to anyone, let alone make eye contact with them! You're there for YOU, so just ignore anyone else who happens to be around. I was there midday and only saw a few other people the entire time, and found the area to be quite quiet. The design is minimal and calming, and an array of teas and snacks are available. Be aware that you will probably not have time to enjoy this area much before your treatment(s), but you are free to lounge about afterward. I nearly melted when I ate the most delicious brownie bite I've experienced in my life. One weird thing I witnessed: As I was relaxing there after my scrub, another spa guest asked if there was any water without lemon (there is a pitcher sitting out), because she has a restrictive diet and has to avoid citrus. The woman who showed her in said there wasn't any available... seriously? I was shocked that she didn't offer to go get her some water... it's not like it comes out of the tap with sliced lemons in it! As for my treatment, it was better than I'd anticipated. Upon entering the room, Lori showed me the mixtures she'd be using, and explained each step of the process to me as we went, with absolutely no small-talk (huge plus!). As I mentioned before, I was wearing the spa-provided disposable underwear (tiny thong and tiny bra that my small bust barely fit into), but Lori's professionalism and modesty-respecting practices made the underwear a moot point. If you've ever had a massage, your therapist should have left towels/blankets covering your most private areas, and kept most of you covered unless they were working on that part. While not a massage, this treatment employed the same principles - when Lori needed me to move or turn, she held up the towel covering me to provide a private changing curtain/area. I really appreciated that - also of note, a warm washcloth was placed over my eyes for much of the treatment, which really relaxed me. The scrub portion was SO relaxing... a warm rice mixture is applied and gently rubbed on the skin of the legs, back, stomach, arms, and shoulders. Next, a cool masque is applied to those areas, and you are wrapped up and covered with a warm, heavy blanket and left to marinate. Afterward, it's Vichy shower time. You might wonder what that's like, which is a big part of why I wrote this review... well, the shower is suspended directly above the treatment table, and you get to just LAY there while this wonderful torrent of warm water washes away the masque and remaining scrub, with the therapist using a handheld attachment to rinse you, as well. Yes, you are mostly exposed, but the towels are still there to protect your modesty, and the towel-curtain is created when you need to flip over. It's the most comfortable I could have possibly been being two scraps away from nude. Afterward, Lori patted me try and applied a lovely lotion that moisturized without being greasy, then left me to re-robe myself when I felt ready. When I emerged from the room, she handed me some water and led me back to the waiting area, where I enjoyed that amazing brownie bite and some tea. I hung out there until I felt reasonably conscious again (I was sooooo relaxed), then made my way back to the changing room. Tip envelopes are available at the front counter, so the sometimes-awkward tipping experience is all taken care of. I went here on the $76 for $100 deal, which meant I payed a total of $81 for the body scrub (normally $105) before the tip. It was exactly what I needed, and I'm sure Note: I was running late to my appointment by about 10 minutes, which I felt awful about, but the staff was courteous and said nothing about it. Reading some of the previous comments, I suspect that there have been some staffing changes and/or policies enacted, because everyone I encountered was professional, friendly, and calm (just what I'd hoped!). FYI - When you get there, turn off Michigan onto Mason - there is a private parking lot available down the first alley on your right. read more

This was my first visit to Om Spa - I had a gift card, and decided to get a massage this past weekend. it was an absolute delight. I spent some time at the beginning in a fluffy robe and flip-flops, and had some tea and an amazing peanut butter truffle in the relaxation area. My massage was absolutely fantastic. I was all sorts of stressed out from a few tiring weeks of work, but the masseuse was super friendly and he did an amazing job at working out the tension in my back. At the end I spent some more time (and drank some more tea) in the relaxation area - I was literally so relaxed I felt I had to "recover" from my massage before re-entering society (and the cold weather). Two days later, I'm still thinking about how delightful the experience was. I'll definitely be back. read more

Anyone who leaves a bad review about Om spa is either just malicious or has some sort of ulterior motive. Or perhaps just one of those people who are never happy because this place is a hidden gem. I have been to some of the best spas in California and Om Spa is right up there. I have been there at least 6 times in the last couple of years and I have never been disappointed. Dr. Kreil and his staff know their business. I love the relaxation room. They are constantly freshening up the decor and during the holidays, it is really beautiful. They offer at least 25 types of hot tea, fruit, water and other goodies to enjoy before and after. If you relax in there, PLEASE do not use your cell phone - thank you!! The last time I was there for a facial with Jillian, they had new robes which are super comfortable. Now about that facial: The facial rooms are equipped with heated beds (amazing!), candles and zen music. Jillian is absolutely great at giving a facial. A shoulder, neck and arm massage are included and what a treat!! I get the Vitamin C facial with extractions. Wonderful!! The locker room is chocked full of products to use - moisturizers, shampoo, hairspray, even mouthwash! If you go there for the first time, you will wonder what took you so long!! read more

This is one of the nicer spas as far as ambiance and feel. You can't help but feel relaxed the moment you walk in (especially if you use the back door). The receptionist was very nice and welcoming. The relaxing area feels like an inviting living room with snacks and beverages. I went for a pedicure and a wax. The pedicurist was talkative - which I didn't mind. The pedicure room was lovely but a bit cold. After my pedicure, I went in for my wax which went smoothly. A day later, I noticed that my pedicure had not been properly done (I was sleep deprived the day of..). If this was a generic no name place, I wouldn't care. Since they charge $45 for it, I expect better. The nail polish isn't covering my toe nail on the sides and she didn't clean under my nails well at all. Very disappointing. Now I wish that she talked less and worked more. One star for the front desk service and ambiance. One star for the wax. read more

Went to Om Spa after receiving a gift certificate from the Hubs for our 2 year Wedding Anny... My friend Brit and I went yesterday. Here is my review: My services: Pumpkin Body Scrub and Masque, Pumpkin Spice Pedicure, and 50 minute Swedish Massage. The services were phenomenal!! The body scrub and masque were absolutely amazing!! I had not ever had this service before, and it is definitely something I will always get (have to put away a little stash in order to do so... no more Nordstrom for me) I fell asleep and started to snore... that's how relaxed, but embarrassed, I felt. The procedure went something like this... first the scrub was applied all over the body, then this warm oil was applied and your body is wrapped (kind of like a cocoon) then four-five blankets are placed on you for about 15 minutes (this is when the snoring occurred). Once you are rinsed with the Vichey shower, you are dried and lotioned down :) The pedicure was, well... fast. I do not know if it is a good or bad thing that it was not like the typical Vietnamese/Korean places I go to. There were things not done by the pedicurist (it that's the title) like a foot massage, leg massage, that I get at my favorite in and out nail shop :(. The massage felt amazing. Never been to a place and my face was massaged!! I can truly say that all my services definitely lasted the timeframe I expected. Brit's services: The Caramel Apple Body Scrub and Masque, also the Caramel and Apple manicure and pedicure. Brit also had a facial. She loved all of them!! I even told her that I could smell the Apple way after we were done at Om and on our way to Happy Hour :). The treat and beverage area was really nice!! I absolutely loved the African Solstice tea.. MY FAVE!! I give this places four stars because of the following "technicalities": There were a couple of patrons for just pedicures who were EXTREMELY loud!! I was unable to "relax" in the lounge because of this!! Also, the lockers absolutely suck!! The locks need to be replaced or tightened with a screw driver. I went in last weekend for a Swedish massage. Kim took care of me... She was amazing!! The front desk staff is really friendly and welcoming. This place is awesome! I loved everything about it except a few things.. the locker room wasn't my favorite, there's no privacy in there. There were a few women in there at the time and there wasn't any privacy. If I wanted to change, it would be in front of others because there was one bathroom that was occupied at the time. The lemon water in the guest area was really warm and gross. Overall though I would have to say my experience was good! read more

I've been to several spas, and this is the first one that gets it right every time. Price-wise they are slightly more expensive than other spas in Dearborn, but the service isn't even comparable. If Courtney is still doing facials here (it's been a couple months since I've been back) she gives an amazing Sundari facial. The ambiance is lovely and peaceful, and the robes are super cozy. Complimentary tea, water, and snacks. This is the perfect place to relax for an hour or two. Also, it's paid parking depending on which lot you park in. I appreciated the fact that there were both healthy snacks and some good ol' snacky-snacks available in the waiting area. I also liked the selection of soaps and things in the retail store. What was weird: When I entered the "relaxing" waiting area there was a big guy in there who seemed irritated. I don't know what was up w/him but when a women enters the waiting area of a spa and finds a big, obviously unhappy, guy sitting in there, it's a little uncomfortable. He just sat there for a while, shifting around in his seat and sighing loudly and then he walked out...it was just so bizarre. I swear I didn't do anything that could have possibly irritated him! He was like that before I sat down. The second thing I didn't like was the message. I was SOOOOO disappointed in it because it felt like it was about 2 minutes long. I was not late for my appointment and I spent enough time sitting and waiting and soaking so I really just felt completely ripped off by the lack of a good message; especially since I paid for the more expensive pedicure because I was told it was the one with a longer massage. I'm still undecided about whether I'd go back here. I like my toes but I don't feel like I got my monies worth. It wasn't the most relaxing experience I've had at a spa. read more

I have been to many spas all over the United States.....except the one that is so close to home. I will say that the staff is extremely rude and not welcoming. The spa seemed like it was missing the clean and classy look!! My pedicure was a sloppy mess by the time I got to my car because the parking is city parking across the street. When I talked about my experience to friends and neighbors they stated that they had similar bad experiences there!! read more
