If I could rate this place in the Negative numbers I would . I stated several times in the mist of getting my nails done the length I wanted. My real nails are naturally long . this nail tech proceeded to clipping my nails short then filed them even shorter because he clearly could not execute the almond shape . once one nail was destroyed I had no choice but get the other fingers like as possible. Damage was already done. I don't wear fake nails just gel over lay or shellac and now my natural nails have to grow back. I looked like I needed a fill in soon as I got up. I asked for a manager he was not helpful at all .. my cuticles were a mess and hurting the work was so sloppy. I even asked if Emily could service me or someone who knew what they were doing. I have been here several times and this was by far the worst . I will never go back. They do not listen all they care about is you paying for the service they do not care to correct their mistakes. I felt really unheard and disrespected for you to expect to be fully compensated for a service you could not execute properly And I have to walk around with the disaster of nails. Lastly I had somewhere to be and he took almost two hours doing my nails so even if they were willing to fix my nails, I had already wasted enough time as it was just, constantly trying to guide the nail tech into doing my nails correctly.. He understood English up until I started addressing the way my nails were turning out.. I did not want to get out that chair a mess and I did. Even giving this place 1 star feels generous. Ladies, know your rights. I specifically asked for regular nail polish on my toes, but they used Shellac instead. Initially, I was quoted $75 for both my hands and feet, but the price suddenly jumped to $105. When I questioned it, they said it was because of the Shellac on my toes. I wanted Ombre nails, but after their mistake, I didn't trust them to touch my nails. I paid for the awful toenails that looked like a 5-year-old did them and left. When I called David, the manager, he didn't even acknowledge the employee's mistake! This was a last-minute decision, and I'll never come back. The service here is the worst! They even have an ATM that charges $3, and while they say they'll refund it, they don't mention the additional $2.50 fee. This place lacks service and integrity. Visit Date: 8/17/21 During a recent visit to Dearborn, I went to Sun Nails, I haven't been here since moving years ago. It has changed in recent years and it is essentially a nail factory, where they bark at customers, pointing and shouting to direct them to a certain station or chair. ZERO customer service. Stations are jammed together, people on top of each other. This part, is not the reason for the lowest rating possible... My daughters nail experience was ATROCIOUS. The person that did her nails did not guide her or give her the different options for artificial nails. She glued tips on, cut them down and then asked her what shape she wanted. She had already told her that she wanted a rounded point. The response was "I can't do that shape with the length that I cut them". From there, she went on to do a terrible job AND left gel powder and color "bakedall over her hands. See pics of this hack job. All the while... the lady was watching a movie on her phone, while doing my daughter's nails. I had already paid before I saw her nails. I'm absolutely disappointed in what has become of this place. Folks, shop around, and avoid this place at all costs. Do not go into this place if you do not know which tech you are going to get. I went in for a french manicure on my nails and toes with shellac. My service was as usual. I noticed that in 2 days the clear polish turned YELLOW on my toes. Remind you, ive never had this happen and Ive been to several salons. I called and told them that I had a problem with my toes and that it needed to be done over because the polish changed from pinkish to YELLOW. The lady indicated to me that I shouldnt TAN and that it wasnt their fault. I quickly informed her that IM BLACK and I dont tan!!!!!! I returned to the nail salon only to be told that I have YELLOW toenails (WHICH I DO NOT). I remained calm and kept a quite tone because I believe that this was my experience and not everyone else's. The man turned to his client and asked her for some type of validation (which she agreed with me to simply redo at least the big toe to make sure it was the product and not my nail bed). The shop owner consulted another paying client about my situation as if she could do something all the while, she kept agreeing with me. No remedy was given, no money was refunded. I have been going to the same nail technician here for 4 years. I go very regularly, as do my daughters. We all are gracious and tip well. His name is Leo. Today, he seemed rushed. I asked if he was in a hurry. He then proceeded to completely berate me until I cried. I paid for my service and received no apology or acknowledgment of treatment from Leo. I am SO picky when it comes to my nails. *Knock on wood* I have yet to have a bad experience here. I've had both Leo and Ann do my nails, and they've killed it every time. I typically ask for them to keep my nails long, oval shape and I mix OPI colors 214 and 2 for the perfect shade of pinkish nude. I had Leo do a nail design (yin yang) and he copied the picture perfectly. The pricing isn't too bad either. Coming from LA, it's pretty average. I typically pay around $30 for a pedicure and depending on what I do with my nails anywhere from $35-$70. This particular time I did gel powder, shellac and a nail design. I did 4 stars instead of 5 because although I like my nails, the service could be a little better. Sometimes it's difficult to communicate to the nail technicians and they don't always take criticism well. I also hate the fact that there is still a charge for credit cards. It is more rare to use cash these days, so I'm not sure why this is still a thing. They did start accepting Venmo for tips, so that's helpful. They also do NOT accept American Express, which is frustrating. With regards to Covid - they are clean and have taken all the necessary precautions. I feel very safe here. read more
