I needed a last minute manicure, and was able to call and get an appointment for the next day. I walked in and was greeted immediately, and my manicurist even helped me decide which color to get on my nails which was so helpful. He was friendly, attentive, and I was in and out of the salon pretty quickly which was great! I couldn't find the pricing online, but I ended up paying $33 for a gel manicure which I thought was a great deal. I'd definitely recommend coming here. Please note that they do have a fee for card transactions -- but I think that is very standard nowadays and was not a big deal at all. read more

If you want good service DO NOT come here! I wanted to get a pedicure to relax I picked a $50 service and was charged $95 at the end! ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!!! I asked for a soak off for my nails the lady popped them off by sliding a nail in between and damaged my real nails! My usual nail salon is was closed so I decided to give this place a try and I'm glad I did. Rin did my nails and he was amazing! He is usually booked with appointments, but I got lucky walking in. They are a little more expensive than usual, they charge $5 to soak off old polish and another $2 if you use a credit card but they do a great job! read more

Tried this spot thanks to Yelp and due to the fact that my regular spot was mysteriously closed. Good for leisurely afternoon service, got me in and started relatively quickly considering i was a walk-in. I got shellac toes and was pretty pleased with the quality of service provided. My grips were pretty crusty and they got them smooth and baby bottom soft! Nice vibes, busy but not rushed! read more

I went here right when they opened on a walk-in and they happily took me. I haven't been to a nail salon in ages and I was nervous with all the bad reviews of every salon around here. But I took a chance and I'm glad I did. For $60 I got a full set with gel polish (this included a $2 fee for paying with card.) I do not carry cash and was unable to leave a tip on the card receipt which was kind of upsetting to me since my nail tech was so nice, conversational, and fun to talk to. He did a great job and I will be returning with cash and extra for tip next time. read more

Update to my review for 89 Nails. Just got back from the dermatologist. The cut to my thumb resulted in an infection. Please beware of this place. My dermatologist told me that this cut as a result of a manicure was a rookie mistake. Now I am on antibiotics for the infection. read more

Now, their COVID safety protocols are top-notch, so this will continue to be our spot. I have been going 3..almost 4 years! I've tried others in between but I always find myself back at 89. My top 3 picks are Huong, Hannah, and Rin. Ask for either of them and you won't be disappointed at all. Don't be afraid to ask for them! Others will be there but the quality that you get is always top Tier coming from Huong, Hannah, and Rin. The short set was done by Huong. The medium coffin full-set was done by rin. As you can see I've been loving my red polish lately. So many colors to choose from and a wide variety of pedicures to choose from also. I can't remember which one of them did the pink set.... but take my advice. This use to be my favorite nail shop in the area. Rin use to do an amazing job on my nails but lately not so much. Whether I get a full set or a fill in, 3 or 4 days later a nail pops off. I go and get it fixed and the next day another pops off. This past Thursday I paid $65 for pink & white ombré only for a nail to pop off 4 days later. Here I am soaking my nails off so I can go somewhere else. Complete waste of money. read more

I am so disappointed in the staff at 89 nails today. I took my 15 year old niece in for mani pedis. Rin was not there and I think if he had been it might have been handled different because he knows I am a long time frequent customer, well I won't be anymore. Upon arriving I said , 2 pedicures and a regular manicure for her. The woman said shellac and I said no same color as toes. Then while doing the pedicure we were asked if she was getting a shellac manicure and I said no, regular. While my niece was sitting having her nails done the nail tech AGAIN asked her about getting shellac, I was not with her, and my niece being too embarrassed to ask her to repeat what she said nodded and smiled. She came to me feeling guilty and said they gave me shellac and by the time she realized it the light was being brought out and she felt like she couldn't speak up. I explained how extremely inappropriate it is to ask the person 1 not paying for the service and 2 a minor something different than what was asked. They took advantage of my niece and rather than saying sorry, the owner Huong's response was to spitefully say we will take it off and paint it with regular... after she is already embarrassed and we sat there for 1.5 hours by this point. That is ridiculous customer service, I should not have paid for it but I did because I didn't want to further argue in front of my niece who was already feeling bad enough. I am furious, they took advantage of her and I will not be returning nor will I recommend them ever again. read more

I've been looking for a new nail salon and I'm so happy I came across this place! I was also pleased with the COVID precautions they've taken - guards in between customer stations & in front of pedicure chair, masks at all times, hand sanitizer everywhere. The staff was very friendly and worked quickly to finish my mani/pedi. It was $60 total for a basic pedicure and a manicure (with gel polish). She did a great job on my nails! It was a great experience and I'll definitely be back. read more

Longest lasting dip manicure I have ever had is here! With all the fuss going around about dip powder manicures, I'm not sure the process of being more sanitary, but each time I go, they open a new canister (I'm guessing that's just good luck) or I would inquire about something more sanitary. My nails always look so beautiful and they last almost 4 weeks each time! $35 for regular dip, $40 if they have to remove past dip/color. It's a really good deal in my opinion, and they are usually very fast! read more

Horrible customer service here. I asked to have the basic pedicure with some stick on nail polish that I had for 4th of July and they would not put it on. Said I had to select their nail polish. Then, the basic pedicure at $25 which included plush I asked them to remove my calluses instead. The lady said I needed to upgrade my package to $35. I stated I am not getting nail polish. They didn't care. Also they charged me $5 to have the shellac on my toes removed. No pricing in the store in this. The pedicure was horrible and literally she spent 15 minutes on me. No massage nor hot stones like I was supposed to get. Don't waste your money here. read more

Hubby and I came in for pedicures on a Friday afternoon. The salon is clean and staff is friendly. We did not have to wait. Overall I thought the pedicure was very good, I just wish the massage would have focused more on my feet instead of being almost completely focused on calf/lower leg only. read more

I have been going to 89 nails for a few years but the past two visits were awful. I got a full set and my nails were crooked, uneven and had dents on them ( the fake nails), then, I decided to go one last time and I wanted shellac nail polish and I needed my acrylics taken off. Instead of trying to soak my nails off, the woman tried to remove them with tooth picks and my cuticles started to bleed. I said something to her and she agreed to soak my nails. After that, she recommended I choose a different color than the one I picked out so she grabbed a blue color and started painting my nails. I should have told her to stop and I didn't like it but I was over it and wanted to get out. Needless to say, this is how my cuticles and nails turned out. And the price was 40$. Never going back read more

Honestly, i have never had a half assed pedicure like the one i had here. The lady barely did the minimum. She did not scrub the bottom well and left so much dead skin when i showed her she brushed it off and tried to get me out of the chair and said I'm tired. Their manicure services are okay on the other hand. read more

Beware!!! Don't let the guy do your pedicure cause he will cut you with the grater foot file and try to push your foot back in the water. But since it hurt I lifted my foot and this is what I saw. I so want to love this place because it's clean and it's close to my new house, but I'm struggling to do so.The fact that it was busy on a Friday afternoon at 4 is pretty promising, but the pedi that I paid a little more for an upgrade for really wasn't worth the extra money. You can barely feel the hot stone massage that comes with even a normal pedi. But, the straw that broke the camel's back was when the tech clipped beyond my cuticle and basically took a chunk of skin out and I started bleeding. He apologized and put some antiseptic on it, but it hurt like hell when I put my hand under the LED lamp. Everyone was nice there, but how badly do I want to go back and chance getting the same person, and how badly do I want to go through every single tech until I find one I like when my favorite guy works at the place in Dearborn Hts (now a 30 minute drive) I had been going to for years? #firstworldproblems read more

Found this place because of the yelp reviews, but it exceeded even my expectations. I was taken care of as soon as I walked in the door. I got a basic pedicure and a dip powder manicure. I also got tips because I have a terrible nail biting habit and the poor things were simply tiny. Anywho, the service was very nice. My nail artist was extremely thorough and asked me throughout if I liked the shape of the nail or if she was hurting me (she never did and I didn't bleed once, which normally happens because I have cuticle problems). She also really took the time to make the foundation for the dip powder, using clear to make sure the surface was flat, clean, and even so that when she put down the dip powder it would be smooth. She also made sure to file down the nail at each step so that the end product wasn't super thick like I've had with other dip powders. It's too bad I love out of town, or this would be my new go-to place! $45 for the nails with the tips and $25 for the basic pedi. Well worth it! Also, bring cash with you for tips! They can't do it on the card. Update: One of my nails broke! I went back in the next day and they were very nice, fixed it right back up and couldn't even tell the difference! I came here for the first time a few weeks ago and I was impressed. The salon was super clean, and they have so many options for both regular nail colors, and gel colors. I got shellac for the first time! The employee that did my nails did a wonderful job. She worked quickly but thoroughly ( I accidentally ruined one nail while letting it dry in the gel dryer), and she redid it quickly. I came to get my nails done on a Sunday afternoon. I had gotten the 35$ pedicure, which is supposed to come with callous removal. I feel like the technician did not spend much time on this and just went through the motions. I wish I did not pay for this upgraded service. The color selection was good and although it was busy, we did not have to wait that long without a reservation. Overall, I feel like I have gotten better pedicures elsewhere. read more

We brought it up and were told they wipe the chairs every time. This was black nail polish that clearly came from the seats. We had just gotten dressed and headed straight there. I am home and tried everything to remove it including nail polish remover and it didn't come out. The skirt was new and now l've wasted $60 on skirt and the $55 on pedicure. I am clearly in the negative. The right thing would have been to pay to clean and or replace the skirt. My husband's technician didn't file his nails and they are all Crooked. Needless to say, I won't be back!

Brand new salon. Beautiful decor. Pedicure chairs are wonderful, and so is their hot stone pedicure. Hundreds of polish and shellac colors. Staff at lots of nail salons are aloof and unfriendly, always pushing you to take extra services. Not at this place. I had such a great experience, and my not-so-pretty hands look amazing with my new shellac. This is my new go-to salon. They are open on Sundays, which works great for me. My first time here at 89 Nails &Spa. Pedi first, got the basic, with hot stone message. Fabulous!! The gal did a great job. I will tip her extra because my feet are so ticklish! Then the mani/fill. Another great job!! Even talked my husband into getting a mani. He LOVED it. Said he will get a pedi next time. Prices are reasonable and they also gave me a punch card. Pay for 10 pedis get the 11th free. My husband and I will be back and would recommend this nail spa to everyone. read more

I've been going here since a few months after they opened, yet they still don't remember my name. The sister of the owner is openly rude and lacks customer service, a few do actually. Also, when I've made an appointment recently they've made me wait 20+ minutes. Their polish section is great and it seems clean, you never really know, but I won't go back now because of the neglect of customer service. read more

This is my all time favorite nail salon. They are always nice, professional and do a wonderful job. I make an appointment, but even when I walk in, the wait time is short. My nails always come out perfect! My pedicures also are very relaxing and they do a great job! I always had a great experience here and will keep coming back. Horrible service!!!!! Never left a place from a shellac manicure with my hands burning! I got a mani and pedi and was at this place for 4 hours they had me sitting in a pedi chair forever before being serviced and overpriced. My manicure and pedicure looks so horrible I cried $75 dollars down the drain! Save your money and go to prestige nails ... not that much further! read more
