I asked for gel and they gave me acrylics. I even said gel multiple times, but It's been a while since I've had my nails done so I didn't realize until I looked up the difference after. My nails are also very sore. Got a pedicure too and they did not cut my cuticles. Felt like a half assed job and super rushed. Will not be returning. read more

Been twice now, because there aren't many other places open on Sunday. The first person who did my nails did a full set of acrylics. It turned out ok, but he but didn't file my natural nail down underneath which I also forgot about until I got home. I can forgive that - everyone makes mistakes - but he was kind of rude throughout. I went back for a fill and the guy who helped me this time was polite and fixed my natural nail underneath. My only complaint this time is that I didn't get any information about how much different options cost when offered. For example, my usual salon doesn't charge extra for cat eye polish, but here it's an extra $20 and no one mentioned this nor was there any indication of the price around the cat eye display. I didn't see a price menu anywhere on the front desk, but I could've missed it or maybe they ran out? There's definitely nothing on the walls. Regardless of price point, I think that information should be more readily available. For anyone curious it was $55 + tip for a solid polish fill - no idea how much for extra length, shape, etc. read more

The technicians are great, but my favorite is LouAnne who really seems to work wonders on my feet and the lower part of my legs with her massages, but don't misunderstand my praise because LouAnne is also a phenomenal nail technician, too! Prices are completely reasonable with a bonus for regular clients. There are usually about ten cosmetology technicians onsite at any given time during business hours. So convenient. October 19, 2022 Update: dip & gel is not quite 3 days old & is peeling!!! I am very careful with my nails too & can typically go much longer. Last service obviously lacks quality. October 16, 2022: I've visited this spa several times over past several months. This is 3rd review based on overall opinion. I've come to understand to expect variable results. Sometimes good or satisfactory and sometimes unsatisfactory. Today I choose to have my now regular "dip" service and chose a color- something like a taupe color. Once it was applied it clearly was not a taupe but more like a light pink. I indicated to technician that color was not what I chose. She says to me that I should choose another color since I didn't "like" this one. No that wasn't the problem. It was not the color I CHOSE. In fact it was significantly different color. We went back & forth with me clarifying miscommunication & misrepresentation of my sentiment they seemed stuck on. I had to caution them from being dismissive & disregarding my feelings based on negative experience I was having based on product error not MY error as they seemed to infer. Ultimately I decided on a gel color that is COMPLETELY NOT what I wanted just to get the Hell out of there. The conversation they uttered in another language between themselves right in my face - made me feel insignificant in the moment and as if they were trying to talk about me without me knowing what they were saying. Typically I wouldn't have a problem with them speaking in another language but not when you've just had a debate and miscommunication with me. This is DISRESPECTFUL. To be fair, I have had great work and good service on previous visits. Different technicians on different visits. But buyer beware, you may win some and you may lose some. July 2022: I am an eternal optimist. Always the one to search out the best of something even in the least of circumstances. I try to see the good in it all. So....I've visited this place several times (3-4 visits) now the past few months and ordered multiple services. My daughter accompanied me twice. Loved my pedis. Was enchanted with my peachy pink full set gel. Loved the full set acrylics with free hand artwork. Melted at my leg/foot rubdown during my pedi. These folks got me ready for vacay! Besides this Mall needs all the help it can get. I Absolutely did not like the unpredictable nature of availability and uncertain quality of service. I knew from visit #1 that they stop taking customers well before they lock the doors. So sad to hear them turn away many many hopeful customers starting at 30-40 minutes before "closing". What's bad about this is that folks have to walk THROUGH the door carrying their hopes & dreams for a bit of beauty and a restorative restful moment to uplift spirit, refresh, recharge, and renew with a sweet hand or foot rub and a bit of color to top it off. Well the tables turned and I was that hopeful beauty queen who walked through that door and like a slap in the face, SLAP! I was told by the lady in charge that they stopped taking customers. Darn ! After a long days' work. And 2 broken nails! Here's the best part...I walked in at exactly 7pm. They close at 8pm. They told me they stopped taking customers at 6:30pm. What?!? No more customers 1.5 hours ahead of closing? Makes sense to stop taking customers 30 minutes before close but to switch up and then change it to 1.5 hours before ESPECIALLY when the place was NOT busy is Fickle Foolery ! Insult to injury, she asked, "Would you like to make an appointment?" Ah... let me take your hand off my face first and recover from the sting of the slap. Fickle Foolishness. read more

Rachel saved my nails and possibly even my life today. I've been really struggling with my mental health recently and had really let my self care go down the drain. I sobbed the entire drive to Signature Nails & Spa after forcing myself out of the house. My feet were an absolute mess and I had pretty much destroyed my fingernails after chewing off my previous dip. I sat in the parking lot trying to get myself together and not look like I had been a blubbering mess minutes before. I walked in at 1pm and after a short wait was seated at one of the pedicure stations. I had the pleasure of being pampered by Rachel. Rachel was extremely kind and gentle from start to finish, even with me jiggling around in the massaging chair. She prepped and foiled my fingers so my poorly removed dip destruction could be properly removed. I opted for the #5 pedicure for the ultimate treat yourself experience. The #5 included a relaxing soak, a callus treatment, an exfoliating leg and foot scrub, collagen treatment and hot towel wraps, a hot stone massage, a paraffin wax treatment, and some other luxurious pampering that I may have nodded out through as I was so relaxed. I chose to go with white shellac for my toes. Rachel had carefully trimmed my nails and cuticles, and painted each toe perfectly. After the amazing pedicure, Rachel went to work on my extremely damaged fingernails. She removed the remainder of the dip and trimmed the damaged length. I then followed Rachel over to her dip station where she already had the color I had chosen set up and ready to go. She perfectly prepped, shaped and dipped my fingers back from the destroyed mess they were when I walked in. She displayed an unwavering attention to detail on both my feet and hands, continuously refining any minor issue that stood in her way of perfection. When she finished pampering me, I thanked her for the hundredth time, paid and tipped, and walked out the door a new person. I can't begin to thank her for all she did for me today. I walked in trying to crawl out of a downhill depression spin, and this experience was truly therapeutic and healing. Rachel, I appreciate you more than you will ever know. I've been to signature at least four or five times now. They're relatively new, still only a couple years old. They're located between Von Maur and Jc Penney at Briarwood mall. They only have an exterior entrance though so enter through the parking lot. The place is gleaming and huge. When you walk in you get instant warm lighting, glistening tile floors, shelves of polish to choose from, rows and rows of manicure seats and two dozen pedicure massage chairs. They definitely got the atmosphere thing down. Its beautifully decorated with a Grecian feel, standing water wall decor and curved ceiling designs. And most of all, it definitely feels clean! Everytime I've walked in here I haven't given that a second thought. I've gotten shellac pedicures and manicures here. The service is great. They have a long extensive list of pedicure options depending on how much you want to spend. I've gotten the homey and butter scrub and the therapeutic pedicure. I would only recommend the therapeutic one if you've been running/working out and your feet need some extra medicinal TLC. It smells like tiger balm/vicks/or that unnamed Chinese medicine i grew up around. I appreciated it at the time when I got it though!!! But its more of a recovery thing then a spa type pedicure. The honey and butter pedicure was delightful. The last two times I've been here, they have been insanely busy. I think they're extra busy on holiday weekends. Call ahead to make an appointment if you can but they will take walk-ins if needed. If they're booked full, they'll put you on a wait list and give you a call when its your turn, giving you the freedom to browse in the mall. I'm still trying to find my "go-to" pedicure spot in Ann Arbor. After trying it out recently, I don't think Signature will be it. I walked in for my recent visit, and - after signing in - I was told it would be 25-35 minutes to wait, and encouraged to choose a color. I was disappointed that my favorite OPI shades weren't included in the assortment, and had to settle for a different color. The 25-35 minute wait turned out to be closer to an hour. We were taken to a pedicure chair after about 40 minutes and sat there - without any water in the basin - for another 15-20 minutes while we waited for our nail technicians. The whole pedicure itself felt very rushed, with the technician spending the bare minimum on time of any extras. She rushed on to the next person without any pleasantries. I had to flag someone down to pay, and finally did before heading out. Fortunately my nails looked nice even a few days later, but with the lack of color choices, long wait time, and experience that wasn't very relaxing, Signature won't be on my list of places to get another pedicure anytime soon. read more

Awful! I literally had the worst manicure that I have ever had, which left my nails ruined. I stopped in for a quick manicure, trying to squeeze one in before a bridal shower. I figured that Signature Nails would be a fine option - I mean, What is the worst that could happen? And, I was desperate. In retrospect, I wish that I had skipped the manicure in favor of healthy, unpolished nails. Narcissism: Forever a downfall. The polish selection was OK - The colors all seemed old and thick, which should have been my first indication to run. My manicurist was friendly enough, except for her repeating several times that I should try the dip manicure. I had no time or interest for a dip manicure and told her that I was fine with regular that day. Did this irritate her and the reason that she did what she did? Or was she trying to sabotage me so I had no choice in the future? What was so bad you ask? After filing my nails, she quickly pulled out her grinding tool and flew it over all my nails. She took them down so far that they were ultra thin, splitting, and tearing, refusing to grow. A subsequent manicurist at another salon was horrified when he saw my nails 8 weeks later; bewildered, he asked: What were they trying to do here?! No idea, brother... No idea. I suspect that this establishment would be fine if you get what THEY want. Just do not go here looking for a regular manicure! read more

I've been going to signature nails for 2 years now and I REFUSE to go anywhere else to get my nails done. The management is amazing and very kind. The nail techs are very talented and the whole establishment has been able to stay clean and safe during the pandemic. I cannot say enough good things about this nail salon and if you're in the Ypsi/Ann Arbor area you have to give this place a try. Definitely make an appointment and just know that it is attached to the mall but you cannot enter through the mall. My nails have never looked better whether I go with acrylic or dip. Was charged more for a fill in than for a full set of the exact same design. I just came in to get a fill in for my acrylics. I had one missing nail. The tech did my fill in and fixed the missing nail and I got French tips with a coffin shape (the exact same thing I had coming in). When I went to pay after selecting a 20% tip like I always do, the price seemed very high so I asked for a breakdown which I was given (baseline price + broken nail price + damaged nail price (was never aware of any "damaged" nails besides the missing nail) + French tip cost. My total with the 20% tip was $76.80. This seemed very high so after leaving I checked my transaction history from 3 weeks ago when I got a full set + French tip and with the 20% I left the total was $76.70. So I paid $0.10 more for a fill in with one broken nail for the same design and shape than I did for the full set. I called the salon because paying more for a fill in than a full set of the same design did not make any sense to me and they were not helpful and just justified the price I paid for the fill in. I will also mention that 3 weeks ago when I came in for the full set I came in with two friends and we all got the exact same thing (full set acrylics with French tip). We noticed that for some reason one of my friends was charged $5 more for the exact same thing the other two of us got. This place is clearly inconsistent with prices and I will not be returning. There is no reason I should be paying more for a fill in with one broken nail than I'm paying for a full set of the same design. read more

She rushed my fill. Drilled my nails so hard that my nails were actually burning for an hour afterwards. But as you can she really did not do well with the fill. The shape is pretty good. But you can see the lines from the growth. She should have taken care and fixed this before doing the fill. I'm really disappointed because I would continue to come here. One of my favorite parts about manicures is the mini hand massage but this was skipped for me. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my manicure cost $16. If you're looking for a seriously fast manicure - this is the place. However, getting my nails done is a luxury and I like when the technician takes their time. However, I had gotten an acrylic fill with gel polish and within a few days, my gel paint began peeling off of one of my nails. I've never experienced gel polish peeling off so I went back and they fixed it. Once I got home, three of my other nails began peeling and who has time to keep going back for them to fix it. $58 for a gel manicure, and a regular pedicure. So, it was recently my very first time here after getting recommended by my roommate. I have been trying different nail salons all over Ann Arbor trying to find one that I could use as a regular salon since I like keeping my nails looking nice all the time. Well, walking in, the decor was really nice and it definitely looked a little upscale. They even have wine that you can drink for free, to include many other drink options. That's definitely a plus in my book. They have a good color range, like many of the other salons I've been to. I do like the range of both the gel and regular polishes, that's a plus. The service was pretty slow, but the pedicure massage chairs were comfortable, so I wasn't too upset. The technician was really kind and spoke English perfectly, so we kept up converstion throughout, which was a real positive in my book because I could communicate EASILY what I wanted done and how I was feeling things. I told her I didn't want a drill used on my nails, and she respected that. I asked questions about things, and all around had a pretty good experience. I'm not sure if this pricing is normal, but I didn't like seeing $58 pop up when I got no design nor acrylics. I got a regular pedicure, and a gel manicure. I want to think it's reasonable, but paying that every 2.5 weeks isn't something I can keep up with. Could this be my regular salon? Maybe. Would I try it again?
