Went here for the first time for a full set and was not disappointed! I decided to go based off of good reviews and the convenient location. Steven did my nails, and I love them. I really don't get them done often, but wanted to do so for my bday since it's coming up this weekend. He was very quick (done in under an hour) but careful and did a great job. The color is pretty, and the sparkles added on top remind me of outer space! Additionally, the place was clean and the workers were all friendly. 89 Nails takes both card and cash, but you cannot leave the tip on a card so be sure to take cash for tipping! Very friendly and very clean. I called ahead about Walk-in time and was able to get in right away for a pedicure. The cutting utensils (clippers, cuticle cutter) came out of sterilized bag. While there I've watched them disinfect the seats and tubs after use. Hannah was great! Good prices and great work. I'll be back. read more

This has nothing to do with talent because my nail tech is.....was amazing. We would banter and converse, in what I always contributed to her having a sense of humor. Well tonight I got the shocker that my nail tech is RUDE! All of what I thought was fun banter was her actually being rude and not joking. I told her she was being rude, she didn't like that because 1 other customer was near by that she was more worried about then fixing the issue with the client you haven't been even tipped by yet. Made me very uncomfortable, as she was obviously getting very mad. So goodbye Hoa, Maybe this will help 89 Nails get some more training in working with the public. You want great Nails go here, but the beautiful nails are short lived if you walk out feeling awful. read more

Love this place. HOA is great at pink and white ombré. Prices are fair and it's relatively new I believe so it's rather clean. It's pretty busy in here. I'm pretty happy with the results of my nails I have no complaints :) read more

My fourth time here and I couldn't be happier. Rin always does a fantastic job, I make sure that my appointment is with him. Never too busy and even if it is, you don't wait long which is a plus. Unfortunately I missed an appointment on Sunday at 89 Nails! Without getting into too many details my daughter was missing for almost 24 hours and it slipped my mind to call and let them know that I wouldn't be able to make it! Today I called because they are closed on Monday so I was unable to call them the following day and let them know what transpired because they do not have a voicemail! I called them today to let them know what transpired and was met with screaming disrespect they hung up on me and told me they didn't care if my daughter was missing or not! Ren has done my nails now for over four years and was willing to reschedule my appointment because things happen especially with children his wife who also works at the facility grabbed the phone from him started screaming at me in front of all of their other customers and telling me she didn't want him to do my nails anymore and then I forever needed to come in as a walk-in! I typically make my appointments two weeks in advance so that I don't have to wait because I am very busy! I tip well over 30% every single time I'm in that building!lI have been a customer there for over four years and go in there at least three times a month! My nails are about an inch long and cost me more than it cost anybody else in that place to get their nails done! I bring consistent business to this business! I'm nothing but pleasant when I come in my nail artist often makes me wait even though I have a scheduled appointment! In four years have I been known to be late to an appointment? Yes I have but I've only missed two appointments my entire life with these people! Unfortunately I cannot remember the reason for the first one but the second one is because the police myself and all of the city of Wayne in Westland we're looking for my daughter for over 16 hours during that time I forgot to call 89 Nails. I was told because I didn't get a manicure with my shellac that that's the reason the color couldn't be fully removed from my nails and that the paint didn't go on well. That's what acetone is for, utilize it. A manicure isn't necessary to remove polish that's just motive for you to make more money. Bad business move. Also what does a manicure have to do with the nail techs ability to paint? You're telling me if I get a mani too then there won't automatically won't be paint on my skin? Yeah right. My visit was Far from enjoyable and after I paid the cashier/tech went back and started talking crap with her customer... very unprofessional! Will not step foot in this place again. Also, very disrespectful of the "owner" or whoever she is to tell me that because my nail tech doesn't speak good English that she didn't understand my request of removing my color better.... that should be common sense to get all the color off and how rude of you to belittle your own worker. English isn't my first language but as the owner you're responsible for who you hire. What was I expected to do? Get up and ask for a different tech? Poor customer service. Owner is extremely rude. Owner started my manicure by removing my polish. Stopped to do someone's eyebrows. This person came in while owner was working on my nails. Then proceeded to do someone else's pedicure.who came in when the owner was working on me. She said absolutely nothing to me. I waited and waited. Finally got up to leave and suddenly someone else did my manicure. I get that the salon is often very busy. Some of the girls are extremely sweet. I don't get treating customers like crap. I am a business owning professional and I try to support other women owned business. Everyone's nails looked good, mine didnt. Beautiful salon, not bad with price. The man doing my nails was so slow and very aggressive. The water was as hot as boiling water on a stove for my hands AND feet. I kept saying no it's too hot he just put his hands in and said it's fine, well excuse me is it your hands/feet being done or mine? He was very rude when i asked to change the water temp so it was comfortable and kept leaving me to take cigarette breaks AND DID NOT WASH HIS HANDS making MINE smell like cigarettes as well. Came for a Pedicure and left with heels that hurt and a little blood on the back on my heel. I understand my feet were not in great shape. It's winter, feet look rough, but I'm on day three now and they are still hurting. The reason I gave two stars and not one is because the guy that did my pedicure was nice and did a good paint job. I've just never had a pedicure hurt this bad and been filed down so hard that I have raw heels and a red bloody spot. :( Disappointed. read more

VERY happy with this place! When you walk in people smile and actually say hello rather than "what do ya want". They took my friend and I pretty quickly. She loved her pedicure and her feet were HIT before LOL. I got a gel manicure. The prices were totally reasonable. Now here's what blew me away...... the place was UBER clean. And when she pulled out her tools to trim back my cuticles and such she actually had what looked like professionally sanitized utensils. Frustrating and disappointing! My first time at this salon. I made an appointment and asked for a few people yelp recommended as good. The lady said. They all busy and all of us are good. Give us a try. Unfortunately, I was stupid and did. The young man who did my regular pedi/mani barely touched my toenail cuticles, rushed through and was very sloppy with painting my toes. The worst was the manicure. He left all kinds of old polish all over, under and on my skin. It was purple polish and a bit dark and we all know that you really have work to get it off. But. You have one job in life as a nail tech. Is it too much to ask that you do the job right? I complained to the leader that I'm not going home to take this off my skin and he needs to get it off. So, he did. Then, comes the sloppy paint application. Most times when nail techs get paint on the skin, they clean it up with a brush. Not this idiot. He proceeds to take a cotton ball (of all things) with remover and tries to clean up getting cotton fuzz in the polish. I'm completely done at this point. I should of just walked out without paying for such a crappy job. But, I didn't, and will have to settle for sharing with you all. Beware, complete waste of money! read more

I tried this place out for the first time and have to say that I was pretty impressed. It is a clean and nicely decorated environment and the staff working were friendly. I would suggest that you make an appointment, rather than walking in because because you could wait a while. In terms of service, they had a a least a 100 different colors to choose from which was refreshing and they are fairly affordable. I went in for a fill in and color change. My nails were done previously at a different salon and looked terrible, they were able to fix them and I walked away really happy. Rushed, rude, and sloppy. This review does not reflect the entire salon, which was clean and modern, just my nail technician. He was an older man with glasses, who when i asked to do a third coat on my nails (since the first two were almost invisible) reluctantly and messily did it. He then proceeded to pull me out of my chair and into the drying station, grabbing my thigh to put my toes under it as well. I've had my nails done. I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself thank you. He didn't even give me his name at the start of the pedicure, much less a hello. Honestly, wouldn't recommend him to anyone! There were a few other technicians who seemed kind and talkative and were laughing along with their clients, asking them if they were comfortable and being gentle. As I was walking out, waiting for my uber, he comes outside and starts smoking. I hope he washes his hands before doing the next person's nails! read more

Found this nail salon from all of the positive Yelp reviews. Got a shellac manicure and deluxe pedicure (treated myself for my birthday). Both look amazing! I had Tommy for both and if you ever want to indulge, I highly suggest the deluxe pedicure. I almost fell asleep I was so relaxed. Even better, you can drink wine there! The nail salon was clean, everyone was friendly and most importantly they take their time doing your nails. Even when it was close to 7pm, they don't rush you. Highly recommend them!
