My nails looked like they'd been run through a wood chipper and I needed to refresh my face.  My husband gifted me a spa day at Revive Salon in Trenton, Michigan.  I had a wonderful day getting spoiled!  Apryl gave me a perfect manicure, and Lana's pedicure was delightful. I ended my wonderful day with a facial by Kelly. Every one of them was so sweet to me, and I feel like a glamorous superstar!  My manicurist was Apryl.  She has been doing nails for something like 30 years!  She is very talented.  My nails look beautiful (see pics).  She listened to what I wanted and worked efficiently to meet my needs.  I loved talking to her, too.  I was impressed that she has so much experience but still up to date on trends.   Lana did my pedicure.  She is also very experienced.  I loved how tender she was with my feet, but she also worked on them to make sure they were super soft.  She was kind and made me feel very comfortable.  I am kind of self conscious about my feet as I haven't gotten a pedicure in a super long time, but she made me feel good about them.  I ended my wonderful day with a facial by Kelly.  Omg!  That was so relaxing, and my face feels super soft. The facial was an hour of heaven!  Kelly was informative about the products she used, but she didn't once try to sell me anything.    I love how each of them were efficient but took their time.  With all three, it was a nice balance between chatting and relaxing quiet. I was changing my long straight center part for bangs and a little chunkier /shag on top. I loved that Deanna seemed to really take her time, and was very careful and concentrated. She was friendly but seemed more concerned with what she was doing than chatting which I appreciated. I'm not the type to be really chatty anyways so it was relaxing not to have to force conversation. Since it was a new style for me, I wasn't sure what I thought of it as she worked through it. At the end, she didn't hesitate to get a second opinion from the other stylists and they all worked together to make sure I was happy. To be honest, I wasn't thrilled when I left, but I have gotten SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on my hair over the past few days. My husband liked it too so that meant a lot to me. For a wedding im attending next weekend, and 2 because in Florida they charge $300+ and i have short hair... Normally Melissa got my hair on point of what i asked. I went in to this salon blonde with some orange and i showed her picture (below) of what i wanted done, she told me that she will get me as close as possible. When she was putting dark in my hair i told her i didn't want any dark in my hair she said no worries its just ash tone to make it how you want it... and that dont i "trust" her... when she was washing my hair i told her it definitely looked to dark. She told me wet hair lies, once done blowdrying it she told me that it looks great and that she loved it.( i said it was darker than what i wanted) she then said she had to "color correct it" she NEVER NOT 1 TIME said she wasn't going to be able to get anywhere close to what i wanted... If she would have told me i would have told her that i wanted something different like blonde in general because I wanted to stay blonde and work towards icy blonde... and I really wanted to be icy white blonde for the wedding, i never wanted to go dark and in fact I've been trying to go blonde and i was almost finally to blonde, I looked at it and i started crying because it was NOTHING like what i asked for.. actually it was far from it. After making an appointment for December she then texted me hours after and said she was no longer able to do my hair because i stressed her out and that she takes pride in her work... well if she takes pride in her work why didnt she apologize for making me dark.. insted she just kept saying "i like it" " it looks good on you" she even took me outsidw to show me that it was lighter outside and said it will light up with a couple of washes.... I don't care if it looks good on me or if she likes it... its my head and my hair and i didnt like it.. she should have offered a refund when she said she cant do my hair anymore, or better yet should have offered to FIX my hair without charge because she did not do what i asked. I've spoken to multiple people who have done are are still doing hair and they said "she should have never added dark because you want icy blonde" and " I don't understand why she made you so dark".... Im so beyond upset and the fact she did NOT take accountability and just decided to take the easy way out by saying she can no longer do my hair was absolutely WRONG of her. Honestly I would have been okay with an apology and a I'll fix it for you and then we need to part ways but instead she just said I stressed her out ( all because I told her my feelings and because I was in tears) which should have been completely understandable because it is NOTHING like what I asked for.... Im so disappointed and this was an absolute disaster!! I even offered to pay more if someone was willing to come in for me, but no one would budge! My wedding was in two weeks and my original hairdresser backed out. I needed an appointment because there's no way I could do my own hair. I called Salon Bellissimo after seeing their good star ratings on Google. When I asked if they'd be able to do just one updo on a Sunday, they said they'd have to look into it and give me a call back. I sunk back into my depression and assumed I'd never hear back from them. I got a call a couple hours later. They were able to find a stylist who was willing to come in on her day off!! JOY! I asked about what I should expect to pay when I came in, the receptionist quoted me anywhere from $65-$85 depending on the complexity of the style I wanted. That seemed fair to me. I feel bad but I can only guess my stylist's name... I think it was Kathy. Anyway, she was an angel who did an amazing job on my hair. She was able to take my general idea of what I wanted and made it reality in less than an hour and a half. I loved that she was a talker, too. Nothing is more awkward than sitting in a styling chair for over an hour in silence. After our introductions, she got right to work! She curled all of my hair and then pinned each curl into an immaculate updo. I was so impressed by her attention to detail that I was scared to know how much she would charge me! When she was all done and we walked to the counter, she said my total was $55. What? That's less than what I was quoted. I was dumbfounded; I expected to pay much more. I tipped her $20 and made my way to the ceremony site. I received more compliments on my hair than I did my dress! Salon Bellissimo went above and beyond by opening for me on a day they don't normally operate. I'd totally go back to this salon for regular hair care because their prices are reasonable, they use good products and have a nice, clean salon.
