I have been coming to Favi's nail salon for over a year. When we moved here I was looking for a salon, so one day I went to Favi's (had to be buzzed in which gave me a sense of security) & asked if I could do a walk in appointment. I was told that they don't do walk ins but Sara was willing to take me on the spot without an appointment. I was asked for a deposit (I'm guessing to cut down on "no shows"). She has been my go to ever since. Everyone in the salon is ESL, but even though I am not Spanish speaking they make me feel welcome. All the employees are caring & kind, when Sara is out I still get great service, but Sara is my fav. She knows her craft & I am always pleased with her attention to detail. I tried Favis Nail as a recommendation from a friend. I don't get my nails done often so I was a little disappointed when they told me the design I asked for required stickers they didn't have. However, they had many shellac colors to choose from and i decided to be bold and get an accent nail on each hand. The manicure turned out so pretty and perfect I couldn't stop staring at my nails! The manicure lasted for about 3 weeks, no chips. I would definitely go back Favis, maybe not as frequently as I'd like since it's a bit far from me. My nails were really nice, good price, walked out satisfied. Two days later a nail popped off. Didn't hit it on anything. Went back to the shop, paid to get the nail fixed, not even a week later two nails popped off. The second time they fixed them free but told me that apparently I was doing some kind of hard work that's causing them to pop off. Mind you I don't do any kind of manual labor. Then told me if it happened again to take my business somewhere else. I told them I was already planning to, and I haven't been back since. Worst customer service I ever had at a nail salon. I'm a customer of the old Favis's and I've tried to be a customer again BUT that's not going to happen. I had an appointment months ago & couldn't make it due to being sick - WITH COVID! I called over the weekend to cancel but they were closed. I called the next day they were open first thing in the morning to cancel my appointment stating that I had Covid so obviously I wouldn't be coming. Fast forward to today...I call to set up an appointment and they requested a deposit (made by Cash App or Zelle). I state that I have a deposit on file. These people tell me that because I canceled my appointment the day of I forfeit my deposit. Mind you I called as soon as they opened & my appointment was for late afternoon AND I explained when I cancelled that I had Covid! They really had the nerve to say I need to bring in a doctor's note proving to them that I had Covid-19!!!! To a nail salon?!?! Just say you stole my $20 or however much deposit! Because if I would have come to my nail appointment sick then there would have been all types of issues! Red flags I ignored...you have to pay with cash as their credit card machine is "broken" and has been for months, the CashApp is not in a business name it's under some man's name. Some small businesses always claim that it's Covid that's ruining them but it's actually them that are doing it to themselves! This place has gone down the drain since Favi sold it! Definitely do not recommend. Ghetto. Side note...that's a violation of HIPAA. Stay in school ladies! Nobody is consenting to a release of medical records to a manicurist! read more

Smaller salon, but felt welcoming. Nail tech was kind and educated me on my nail care. Gave me exactly what I wanted and communicated with me along the way. I made an appointment and did not wait at all. I was in and out in an hour - I had an acrylic fill with gel polish. Not many parking options and was a little pricier than I wanted (spent maybe $10-$15 more than expected) - only complaints. I would go back. FYI, you have to cash app the salon $20 to reserve your appointment. You can use that $20 toward your appointment or use it to hold your next appointment. read more

This is my first time going to Favi's nails; after seeing so many great reviews I knew I HAD to come in and try for myself. The girls there are sooo friendly! They make you feel welcome, include you in conversation, and are very informative about nails. My appt was at 5pm (their closing time), and STILL the lady who did my nails was patient with the whole process and she put 110% into it. I got something simple for my first time; just a pink acrylic overlay with some decals. I love em! Next time I come in, I'm going to get something more dramatic! they have plenty of idea books to refer to as well. And the prices are great!! Omg! I love this place! I found it on Yelp after I moved 30 minutes across town and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. They are friendly and professional and I was set up with a technician about 5 minutes after walking in at 1pm on a Tuesday. I was helped by Liz and she was really easy to work with and brought my idea to life. I LOVE her shaping! I can't wait to go back to try another style. And additional points because they had the entire line of Hello Kitty OPI polishes! I detracted a star because of the one nail brush in the bathroom. I went in today for the very first time to Favi's Nail Salon after seeing Liz's work on Instagram. I had to make an appointment, which I already knew thanks to Yelp, and also give a deposit as I am a new client. I did so using Cash App. For a soak off and a full set, my deposit was $30. My appointment was for noon on a Tuesday with Liz. I arrived around 11:56 and waited just a little past noon to be seated. Liz made excellent conversation and made me feel comfortable. I was able to show her a few of the images I saved off of Instagram to give some idea of what I'd like as far as design, length, and color goes. I wound up with extra long coffin shaped acrylic using the sugar pink colored acrylic. I also got a gel topcoat and two designs on each finger, which Liz chose for me. Overall, I felt a little rushed toward the end (they work by the hour and go by appointment only so I can understand this) but this was excellent work from Liz. I'll be coming back for a fill-in in two to three weeks! read more

My friend recommended this place to me and for graduation I decided to make an appointment. I am the worst with my nails and ALWAYS break a nail or two a week or so into my full set. This is one of the best nail shop that I have been to and I have been to a lot around the country. My nail technician was nice, she did not speak a lot but she was nice. I love the way she shaped my nails from coffin to stiletto and I she did a good job recreating my nail design. The only issue I have is that my gems are starting to come off of my nail only after a week of having them. I think they should find another method of gluing them on. Other than that I think this is one of the best nails shops around oh and cheap. For a fill in, reshaping it only costed me $26 which I have never paid before. read more

A huge part of the quality comes from there not being an English language barrier(like typical Asian Salons). It's easy to articulate exactly what you want, even if it's somewhat abstract. The quality of work that is done...OMG superb. The attention to detail is flawless. Even 9 days after getting my nails done there isn't even a hint of my nails growing out or any jewels lost. I've been going to this salon for 5 years. Through that time there have been no esthetic changes. Same everything. The only thing that changes are decorations for various holiday (s). The salon is small and there isn't adequate seating for those waiting for nail services unless you sit at someone's station. The credit card machine never works, and the current staff (other than Jennifer the receptionist) are not friendly and welcoming. I've never been to a salon that has a sign in the restroom that reads "don't flush toilet paper ". The prices are posted, but designs are ala carte. Unprofessional in application / too many negatives for your time and effort. My suggestion is get a referral from someone who likes the nail tech's work, she/he is skilled in application and follow up......and please / let it be clean!!!!!!!!! For starters Terrible services. I don't really do review and I never had such a bad experience with getting my nails done before. I went with my friend, It was our first time trying this place out. We took the last slot at 6 pm and nail tech are kinda rude and did not want to do any design we wanted. Mind you we sent over pictures of what we wanted before booking the appointment and they said that they can do the color and design we wanted. When we got there, let me tell you are expectations were to high, the nail tech were talking about who is going to take who. did not know what our designs were. They didn't have the color on the photo! Clearly disorganized!! The nail tech took time out of my slot and I only had around 30 min until closed and my design was ugly and not what I wanted. She sure was rushing the process. They must have been hungry too because all they can talk about is eating chicken . The girl in the front was with a I don't care attitude while helping us and munching on some Doritos lol! On top of that the nail tech even started drilling her own acrylic while doing my nails and her acrylic started flying towards my face. Also they didn't deduct our deposit. We had to call them 3 times to even receive our $20 deposit. Beware of this nail salon. Know who you are booking with because clearly we did not!!! Never going back! I've avoided nail salons my whole life because I was raised to believe they're inherently unsanitary. I was nervous, partly due to that and partly because I didn't know what I wanted or what to expect the first time. I've gotten gel manicures here a few times (as well as at a couple of other places) and the best work I've gotten done anywhere was by Erika. She was lovely and did an awesome job. Her family came in during my session and she didn't slow down at all during her conversation with them. Nail techs are amazing but the owner is incredibly rude. Was recommended to go here about 2 years ago from a coworker who has since stopped going. I went to get my nails done faithfully for over 2 years here , tipped well but I cannot get past the disgusting attitude that the owner has with customers in the salon. Before I started going here, I read a review online that said the owner was rude and the past few appointments, I see exactly what they meant . If customer service means anything to you, do not patronize this place. They have got a lot of work to do! Favis Nail Salon is conveniently located off of I-75' in SW Detroit, by Mexican Town, has its own parking lot, is exceptionally clean and runs like a well oiled machine. Wow! Where do I began?. Well, let me start by saying Sarahi is my nail tech. My first day there was like shopping for diamonds. When Sarahi took me downstairs to the MAGIC drawer where all the Swarovski stones are kept I was OUT DONE. It took everything to keep from screaming out loud, so I did silently.lol I'm a hair stylist, so I'm picky and very serious about my day at the shop. I take the whole day off because I hate to be late and hate to rush my girl. Liz has done my nails when Sarahi can't. ALL THE LADIES in this shop are amazing artist. I've searched high and low for years for a place as I described. I've only been coming for about 2months. I travel 40miles every two weeks and I'd travel further if necessary.
