I'm gonna tell you this. This place is a tiny oasis down to the massage chairs while you wait for service! I had an excellent pedicure as my introduction to Nail Bytes and I was hooked. Their booking site is very easy to use. The nail techs are very attentive to your needs and make sure that you are serviced and comfortable. When you are being serviced, they also offer you a refreshing drink of your choice. Do yourself a favor and stop in for the attention your hands and feet need. read more

Love this place . Friendly staff and they make their pedicure scrubs in house . Best pedicure chairs with a tv . It is a small place so you are best off booking an appointment ahead of time online ( super easy) . I had one or two bad experiences several years ago, but I think that was to the polish being expired. On top of the service and quality of manicures being great it's also a cute place. I like supporting a women owned business and parking is easy. You can also park across the street if there is no room in the small lot . read more

less than 1 star. Why does Google say the business closes at 8pm yet when I arrived at 4:45pm they were on their "last client." Business looked lovely/clean and pleasant but customer service was severely lacking. Then had the audacity to tell me to come back "Next time I need my nails and toes done." No thanks! read more

My wife visited for an appointment to clean her nails. She won't be back. It was her first visit there and not sure if regulars are treated differently, but I expect you guys to greet customers and be a little friendly. I believe Monique was assisting her. When my wife told her that she was not happy and that Monique had not cleaned her nails completely, my wife was told to use a nail file at home. After this incident, we will support some other local nail salon. read more

I had the BEST self care Thursday with Maya! I got a gel manicure and pedicure, and had the best experience I've had in a LONG time. Maya spoiled me, and took her time with everything. She was quick to ensure I was comfortable with any step that had potential to be uncomfortable, and I felt she took my concerns very serious. She was so well versed in the industry, and her work showed her passion. At one point I asked for a water, and she offered a mimosa. I texted my husband right away I found my new favorite spot! The salon itself was incredible as well! SO clean, and every technician took their role in being sanitary very serious. Be sure to wear a mask, and everyone pays the same respect to you and your safety. I can't wait to be back! read more

I will first say that Nail Bytes prides themselves on Customer Service. I had a couple of appointments that were not great due to a product not agreeing with my nails. But one of the owners went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I appreciate all they did to make sure my nails are beautiful. I like that they try to go a more natural route, whenever possible, with the products they use. And yes I will be back! Next time maybe a pedicure too for a day of pampering. read more

Well. I really want to love this place. The atmosphere was nice. The people were nice but however, the Nail Tech that serves me just about a week ago was all bad. My nails look a mess the top coat is peeling and cracking off they're not shaped correctly. I have never had my nails look this bad. read more

I just moved to West Bloomfield from Waterford, and I've been looking for a new nail salon. Today, after I chipped 2 nails, I decided to try another place, as the last one I tried was ok, but I wasn't all that comfortable. I found Nail Bytes right here on Yelp, and all the good reviews convinced me to go there. I made an appointment through Yelp. As others have said, the place is tiny. there is a small counter where they have 3 chairs and 3 nail techs worked together behind it. There are also a couple of lounge chairs and 3 chairs for pedicures. I was greeted immediately when I walked in, and I was offered a variety of grown-up beverages -- quite the unexpected touch! Nedra and I discussed different techniques, colors, etc., and then she got down to work. She was meticulous and friendly. In fact, friendliness is one of the things I liked best about my experience there; the technicians talk to the customers as well as to each other, and everyone feels included, unlike in some other salons where technicians talk to each other in other languages and the customers are left out. I chose a gel and a color-changing polish that Nedra hadn't used before. She kept commenting on how nice it looked on my nails and that she liked the colors I picked. I also got a bit of a hand massage with my choice of oil. I chose key lime, and it smelled great. I felt very welcomed and comfortable, even though it was my first visit. I think I may have finally found my new salon! read more

Horrible horrible horrible i went today for shellac manicure not only did it cost me $63 the design is horrible and the shellac has peeled off of 2 fingers in less than 12 hours. Management would not refund me only recommended to redo as if I want to be a repeat customer....trash trash trash beware keep it moving Having it corrected would be for you to refund me. It is out of my way to go back to your salon, knowing that I won't be a repeat customer. It was my first experience there i tried to support a black owned business. The right thing to do would be just to refund me my money. read more

Well... I heard great things about this salon and it was highly rated so I went out of my comfort zone to try a new place for dip nails. The nail tech was super nice however I don't feel like my nails were WHATSOEVER worth the hefty price tag that accompanied them. She was nice enough to buffer my one hand but immediately after I left, inspecting them on my own, I found MULTIPLE other mistakes on my other hand, which I feel like should have been caught by the tech. This is the most I've ever paid for my nails yet the worst dip nails I've ever had. So sad to have to write this review however I wanted anyone interested in getting dip to know that this is NOT the place to go. I gave it a 1 star for the free wine and nice personalities. AFTER SPEAKING TO MANAGER: I was offered a measly $20 refund after spending the most ridiculous $70 I've ever spent on nails... oh, and a free touch up... I will not be letting anyone touch my nails in this place. read more

This place is so amazing, I couldn't wait to give them a glowing review. I'm in the middle of my pedicure, lol. Everything from the first impression to the quality of their work is TOP NOTCH. They're extremely sanitary (think: new EVERYTHING for each client), they truly care about their work and how happy you are with their work, and the overall ambiance of the salon is all about relaxation. If you love 80s and 90s R&B like I do, you'll be SUPER happy with their music Playlist. All of the nail techs are super kind and über talented. They also serve drinks, alcoholic and non. If you go the alcohol route, I suggest the "mermaid water" it's pretty, and it tastes so good! Everyone here is fabulous, so it doesn't matter who you're paired with, but I had Keaona, and she got me RIGHT for my wedding day. If you live anywhere within driving distance of this salon, I HIGHLY recommend it. You'll be happy that you came. Also, if you are someone who cares about this, it's black owned. Had a WONDERFUL experience at Nail Bytes in Farmington, MI. Our bridal party came for pre-wedding nails for my friend's wedding. The salon is beautiful and clean and they offer mimosas while you get your nails done which adds a lot to the experience. They use all new files and disposable bags in the pedicure baths with great sanitary practices. Brie did both my fill and pedicure and did a fabulous job. Her shaping and polishing is on point and I didn't need to tell her to fix a thing. The girls in the whole salon are warm, friendly and very professional. If you're in the area I highly recommend Nail Bytes. read more

I had a wonderful pedicure here recently. The positive reviews are no joke, this was a great experience from the easy online scheduling to the service itself. Walking in, I was surprised how small the salon was but I think the intimacy is what made it a great experience. I was greeted, offered a glass of wine (yes please) and explained their hygiene practices. When I sat at the pedicure chair I noticed each station had it's own TV and I was given headphones with disposable covers. How awesome is that. I had the Island of Fiji pedicure and it was so great. My toes look and feel amazing. This is my new spot! read more

Ok so I came back in today and saw both Serena and Keyana. They were really helpful and worked together to figure out that it was the shellac brand that's been giving me issues. They gave me a few options and then were very thorough about fixing my nails. I will say that this place works really hard to make sure you're happy with what they do. With never having written a Yelp review before, I knew I absolutely had to make my first about Nail Bytes. I'm new back to the area and have been searching high and low for a salon for a quality pedicure. Nail Bytes goes above and beyond and provided what was one of the best pedicures I've ever had! Everything was so personal. I had mentioned my allergies bothering me, so Niece put some essential oils in a diffuser next to my chair to help alleviate my sinuses. They brought the scrubs out on the cutest tray with a beautiful presentation. Every product they used was made is house and so high quality! Yvette took her time and really provided such a wonderful, relaxing experience. I am so thankful I stumbled upon this place and I will be back again!! read more

The lady who did my nails was very rude and very quick she couldn't wait to finish and she didn't even do it right. We didn't talk much she barely said hi when I walked in. I wish someone else was free . I had bad experience there that's why I wouldn't recommend it to anyone however maybe there is someone who is nice and better and works there. However I went to TL nail salon I had Helen and she is amazing I wasn't expecting that at all, but my nails were amazing I was very very happy with them. read more

I am new to this salon and after my first visit, I'm happy to report that I had a great experience. Staff was friendly, space is spotless and prices are fair. It's worth the extra bucks to know the equipment is sterile, you get what you pay for and shouldn't compromise when it comes to cleanliness. Also, this is a female, African American owned salon and I am happy to know my business is supporting the hard working women behind it. One thing to note is that parking may be tight so you might want to park across Grand River (not a big deal). Now let's get to what turned my experience into a phenomenal one... Kema! My nail artist was amazing. She did a fantastic job on my Birthday manicure and pedicure. She worked efficiently and spent the perfect amount of time on my service. Not rushed but not excessive or needlessly long. Nails were filed to perfection and there was not a single glitch, dot, scuff, etc on any of them. Kema was so personable. I feel like she has mastered the art of professionalism and talent. Give that woman a raise because I will be bringing myself, family and friends in, and we're all asking for Kema! read more

Terrible, terrible. Waited for the nail tech to arrive, was 30 minutes late to her shift and my appointment. I spent two and a half hours for an express manicure and pedicure. 2.5 hours!! Then hours later my polish was still wet and is a mess. Ended up having to take it all off. What a mess. Such a poor experience and huge waste of time and money. read more

Ok I don't even know where to start. This place is spectacular. STOP GOING TO CHEAP FAST PLACES. You pay for what you get. They use high quality supplies and do a tedious very professional job. Nedra stayed an hour and a half late just for me. She could of easily rushed things and did a sloppy job so she could go home. NOPE, this girl stayed until 9pm to finish me up. Extremely clean and fun atmosphere, you can tell the workers and owner love what they do because they put a lot of passion into their work. Everything about this place is incredible, I've never been the type to review places but I had to after the experience I had here. I love everything about this nail salon. Excuse me...nail BAR. It's conveniently located in downtown Farmington with lots of free parking around, even if you can't get in their small lot. It's new, modern, and clean with chandeliers and good lighting; luxurious finishes. There are booths with nail techs as well as a "mani bar" in the middle. There are 3 pedicure chairs. I was greeted warmly when I arrived and my 12:30 "Island of Fiji" pedicure started right on time. I love their online booking system; it's so easy. The leather chairs are massage chairs, and each person gets their own tv screen and headphones. Wow! They line the tubs with plastic, so the jet gets cleaned as well as the tub. This pedicure comes with their "Almond Joy" products - they smell so good! All made in-house; a bath bomb, sugar scrub and moisturizer. Perfect. My pedicurist was Bre; she was friendly and did a great job. To top it all off, they have a full bar available to guests; I had 2 lovely glasses of pinot grigio. What a treat! For $40, you just can't get better service. Everyone was warm and friendly; this is my new spot. Looking forward to my next service already. read more

The day before Christmas Eve my girlfriend decided she needed her nails done. Not to mention that we live in Texas, so I had little to no idea where to go. We walked in and it was absolutely packed. However the owner(I forget her name) stopped what she was doing and got us set up with a 1 o clock appointment. My girlfriend decided she wanted a manicure and a pedicure, I decided that I needed a pedicure. Not only was the conversation amazing, but the service was absolutely incredible. My girlfriend was blown away with how amazing her nails looked. If we ever decide on moving to Michigan, this will be where we come to do our self care routine! read more

I really struggled writing this review because I don't want to come off as overly critical. I've visited Nail Bytes twice, I was really excited my first time because I follow them on Instagram and love their work. They were really responsive in reminding me of my appointment, and were very nice canceling my pedicure appointment. My first appointment was November 14, and the place was a very nice set up. You sanitize your hands as soon as you come in and take you temperature with no contact. I was greeted upon entry, picked my color and was seated promptly. My nail tech was nice and we made small talk but I myself just felt awkward, I'm a super shy person and I blame myself for the vibe being off. I got a nice full set, they had contact free payment I mean why should I complain? They provide drinks, they had great music, but I just didn't feel welcome. At first I wasn't going to come back but I thought let's try again. So I went again yesterday, December 14th. I believe I had the same tech (not sure). I went for a fill in, but as we started it became clear my acrylics weren't in good condition and a few nails were lifted. My nail tech recommended a soak off and a gel manicure because she couldn't fit me in that day for a full set. Ok no problem, at least I can get some service done. Here's where I have an issue, after it's all said and done my original 20 dollar fill in turned into a 77 dollar Super Gelactic Manicure. This includes the 15 deposit I already paid. I get the 12 soak off cost, ok. What I don't understand is the 8 dollar shellac soak off cost; my shellac wasn't soaked off it was buffed off. I don't understand was a gel booster is, excuse my ignorance, that was 8 dollars. And then the manicure was 40. Add in tip and I spent way more than I planned. I don't do much fault the nail tech, I should have asked the cost before I agreed. And for the two hours I spent, I could've just gotten the full set. This place is beautiful and I appreciate that it's black owned. I'm not bashing them in anyway imaginable, but I don't believe I'll be back in the future. read more

Made an appt online Sunday for a Monday evening appt. Parking is available behind the shop on the left. The ladies were very polite and greeted me when I arrived. I was offered a complimentary beverage and had to wait a few minutes(not a problem) it wasn't long. Nedra explained that she would be providing my pedicure service. Pedicure chairs were comfortable and there are televisions with headphones that are available. They provide one time use covers as well! Nedra prepped me for my pedicure and brought out a tray of products and went over each item. They mix their own oils, sprays, and body butters! They use liners for the pedicure tub to ensure that it is sanitary and the pumice stones and files are used one time! She made sure I was comfortable through my pedicure. I highly recommend the Athletic pedicure! Very therapeutic and relaxing. The decor is inviting and bright. The music (Jazz) is soothing especially after a long day of work. It wasn't crowded and the conversation was very engaging. These ladies definitely delivered on their nail services. I will be back! read more

I checked on line and it looked like they had a ton of appointments available today, so I drove by. Unfortunately, I was told that they were too busy and couldnt possibly take me today. I was tempted to book an appointment online and come back just to show the lady who gave me attitude but it wasnt worth it. To book an appointmet online you have to pre-pay $15. The sign said walk ins welcome but I definitely didnt feel welcome. The parking situation is a bit of a nightmare in the back. read more

Last night was my second time visiting Nail Bytes - and it was just as spectacular as the first! The shop is clean and everything they use is sanitary. No re-using of files or pumice stones or buffers, etc. They also do NOT use drills - everything is shaped and filed by hand. So much healthier for your nails! Nedra (the owner) was patient and did an amazing job on my nails. I have seriously weak nails and horrible nail beds, but she is working with me to improve both of those. My "Jamaican Me Crazy" pedi was great too. HIGHLY recommend hitting them up. Make sure to make an appointment! read more

Tried to support a Black owned business but...Arrived with sister and Mom for a prepaid visit. The appointment was at 4 pm, and I called and let them know we were almost there at 4:07. We arrived at 4:18, 3 minutes past the cut off and was told they couldn't see us. I appreciate being timely, but 3 minutes was a weird flex. They had one other customer, so it wasn't busy. The one attitudinal female told us reschedule or accept a lesser service. I wasn't familiar with them, but apparently, we dodged a bullet as both techs appearance was completely unkempt & one stopped to adjust her socks that were sliding down in her boots. They also charged my brother $75 for a "commission fee". Fth. read more

When I got to the correct address there was a sign that said "come in we're open". I attempted to ring the Ring doorbell that was on the door, the battery must have died because there was no ring and it did not light up. Then I attempted knocking loudly, twice, five minutes apart from each other. No response. I am convinced either this business is closed, it is a casual endeavor for friends and family, or something else is going on. I would be hesitant to advise anyone to book a service with this business because I'm not sure it exists at this point. I'm going to look into reporting the business on Groupon because I had to refund my Groupon because I was unable to use it. Just sharing my experiences in case anyone else wants to be saved the headache.

First the essential oils placed under my face gave me quite a migraine. I have a herniated disc in my neck which I acknowledge that sometimes that could be an issue but for me this has never been a problem during massages. For some reason she placed several, and I mean several, hot towels on my neck which was immediately pretty painful as this was heavy to be placed with heat on a herniated disc, no matter how healed. Then she quite literally covered me in lotion, like a ridiculous amount where I couldn't even get dressed, barely touched me and ran out of the room, almost before I could even ask her for a towel (I was literally drenched in lotion) and before the session was supposed to be over. So I was left in more pain plus a migraine with a shortened session and covered in lotion, and I did notice that she didn't greet me afterwards to offer me water and make sure I'm doing good like they usually do here. This was all very strange and bizarre, but I assumed maybe this had to do with inexperience and wanted to leave feedback as to why this wasn't the best experience, especially since this is a luxury service that wasn't cheap. The owner called me the next day, and she was genuinely one of the most hostile and unpleasant people I had ever talked to. I am not a confrontational person, and I do think I was being reasonable in leaving feedback. She called me and told me that there is absolutely no way that any of this happened, and that she "welcomes me to not return". I told her that this was unfortunate to hear because I had such positive experiences in the past there, to which she told me I didn't go there enough times to have that much of an opinion. She kept telling me that I am more than welcome to not return, and at this point I wasn't going to but I just wanted her to tell me directly that she was banning me from returning for having a negative experience. She was avoiding saying explicitly that I could not return, but she kept insisting I was welcome to go elsewhere. I told her I would probably leave a review of the situation, to which she said "well that's not very nice of you". I told her it's not very nice to ban me for expressing concerns with my session. She hung up the phone abruptly, and the next day another staff member called and offered to reschedule me with someone else. I politely declined. I also want to mention that the ramp to get in the door is extremely inaccessible, I am a wheelchair user and it's borderline hazardous the way it is oriented. If I am to open the door, I have to be on the ramp which is difficult, or the door will push me down the stairs. If you use a mobility aid or have chronic pain I would not recommend, not because of the staff but 100% because of the owner.
