She transformed my face subtly, naturally but in such a way my family noticed shortly after ONE session with her. Dr. Boyd is a phenomenal doctor! I am giving him five stars because of the quality of his work. He is very conservative in his approach and has the perfect eye for what your needs are. I could sit in his chair and just ask him, "OK Dr Boyd what do I need to do" and trust everything he says. I had a dark circle under one eye and he literally fixed it for me in less than 20 seconds. I called to schedule a consultation and I was told that I would have to pay $250 for the consultation. The receptionist had no remorse when I explained that I don't want to pay a fee when I don't even know if Dr. Boyd can fix my problem. The receptionist was very rude and not caring at all which is not acceptable but especially when dealing with a case like mine. It's not fair to charge someone $250 to book a consultation when they don't even know if the doctor can do what needs to be done. read more

This is specifically for the incredibly rude receptionist at the Detroit location. After not being told there's a 100 dollar cancelation fee when making my appointment when I attempted to reschedule they short and rude stating I was going to be charged a 100 dollars. When I said I changed my mind because of this policy I was unaware of, I was hung up on without a goodbye. So unpleasant and unprofessional. I'll bring my buisness elsewhere because they sureseem like they don't want mine. Thank God they didn't get my CC info! Everything happens for a reason. read more

Be careful if something goes wrong he DOES NOT FIX HIS OWN WORK! He will leave you looking worse then you left off and when asked about fixing it....He refuses to say he "made a mistake or messed up" instead he makes you feel like YOU don't know what your talking about or what your face looks like! Not to mention for him being his OWN BUSINESS owner and not fixing his OWN mistakes. Worse mistake I ever did was choose Boyd. Don't be fooled by the fancy office and Birmingham location. read more

I have been going to Boyd Beauty for years for Ultherapy done By Kerry and Nora. Both were great. I highly recommend them. However, I have no doubt Dr Boyd has the skills. In 2019 I had a consult with Dr Boyd. After waiting in exam room for what seemed like close to an hour, he came in. I Wanted to address my jowls. He recommended a short scar facelift. Done 2020. Long story short I was not completely pleased with results and I felt my ear lobes were distorted after surgery. Instead of offering to take care of them he had his assistant give me a list of quotes For more procedures. His fees are much much more than other surgeons. After in office surgery For the short scar facelift, I never received a call from him or his nurse as to how I was doing after surgery. In follow up appointments I received quotes for me to spend more money on Thread Lift, fillers, ear lobe repair and Ultherapy to name just a few additional treatments. I even called to schedule a blepharoplasty but never received a call back. Not going to blame him entirely, it's just that His doctor-patient relationship process could use improvement. read more

Unless you'd like to carry some extra bags around for a year or so, I would highly suggest you pass on this one! I seldom write reviews but want to warn others. I received fillers from Boyd many months ago and was left with a lumpy mess under one eye where he seemed to really concentrate his efforts for some reason. I had several sessions with him and notices some slight lumpiness under one eye after a session. I told him this and he tried to tell me that it was due to fat deposits under the eye. I KNOW this wasn't there before he injected the area but trusting he could even things out, I proceeded to have more fillers injected...big mistake! It was made so much worse and I've been living what looks like a lumpy bag under one eye that wasn't there before. I look ten years older on one side. (The other eye is fine as he didn't inject under that eye for whatever reason.) I went to a different PS and he said these fillers should never be injected superficially under the eye and almost always end up lumpy. He also said that some people need to have an eye lift as a result to repair it. He told me that it could be reversed with an enzyme but there's a risk of this enzyme damaging my own tissue as well as dissolving the filler. Not a great option in my opinion so I've just been waiting for it to dissolve on it's own for many months. Apparently he sees many people in his office who have been botched by Boyd's filler "expertise" and said I was actually lucky because it could have been a lot worse. So not only did Boyd charge an absolute fortune for his "work" but I was left with completely undesirable results because he was so arrogant to think he was talented enough to use fillers in a way that they are not designed to be used. To say I am unhappy with Dr. Boyd's work is an understatement. read more

TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT! The treatment I received at BOYD in Birmingham was a complete disappointment and shock. The only positive to the entire experience was one employee named Lauren who was the RN, very understanding and accommodating, past that it was miserable. I spent over $1,530 on Botox and a filler and was told I would get certain results, which I only got maybe 20% of what was promised. I came in for a follow up visit with Dr. Boyd assuming I could voice and show my concerns he would do the right thing by his patient and make things right, boy was I in for a surprise! He not only went back on his words he told me at the first visit, he spent most of the time gloating about how he is so well renowned and he just got back from New York on a lecture because he's so good at what he does! He then proceeded to tell me that the results appeared to be minimal due to my lack of education in the field of filler and Botox! If I am not mistaken he is the Dr, I'm the patient, since when am I supposed to be educated on it? I was foolish to take his recommendations that first day and pay cash immediately, because I got totally scammed by him. He went on to tell me that the FDA recommended 4-6 syringes in the area I was treating to see beneficial results, well he recommended to me in the initial visit 1 cc which cost $1,000 so I went with his professional opinion. I come back for the follow up and he says its because he put too little....so was that my fault? Shouldn't he have followed FDA guidelines? No he did it on purpose to sucker me in, and now try to make another 2-3 THOUSAND off of me. It turned into an argument and a contest of who could prove who wrong, if I were him I would have felt embarrassed to stand there and argue with a patient. He promised a result and came up extremely short, and the most disheartening part of this all, he would not do ANYTHING for me, his first time customer. He said to pay full price for more product even though it was clear I was misled and very disappointed. Apparent the D in BOYD stands for Dignity, it's plastered in his office, and well this man has NONE. Fortunately Birmingham has dozens more quality plastic surgeons to choose from. read more

I felt she listened to what I had to say and made me feel very comfortable. Everyone I encountered here was very welcoming from the moment I walked in the door. I went in to my Laser Hair Removal consultation just to be told that the laser hair technician didn't come in. Instead of being rescheduled (which I should have been called ahead of time about the technician not showing us, I drove 35 minutes) I met with someone else and the consultation was only 5-10 minutes long. I was expecting to be asked questions, have the areas I desired to be lasered looked at and then priced based on that. I did get prices, that weren't too bad, but I wont be coming back due to poor attendance and lack of professionalism. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the women I spoke to, she was very kind and tried answering all my questions to her best ability. The welcoming counter was nice as well, but didn't seem happy to be there. I think its important to get a great first impression, seeing smiles even, but there was a lack of that as well.
