Been here a few times, trying different massages and therapists. Spent some good money including tips. Would not recommend the deep tissue massage here, it was very gentle. Was told that she was just gently opening me up at the beginning, but the pressure didn't change throughout the entirety of the massage. I mentioned a few times, that I'm open to receiving more pressure. But gave up. Still gentle, like hands gliding over my skin with too much oil. Don't focus on any spots. Massaged bone at time instead of tissue. I have multiple health issues with surgeries, and have a prescription for massage work. Their standard massage seemed more beneficial than this higher-priced deep tissue. read more

Ultra Relaxing! What a great little treat for myself. While looking online for spa's near me,m. I decided to check out the Beach House Day Spa and I must say, I'm so glad I did. First off, make sure to book in advance. Even though this place is located in what seems to be a small building... it's busy! If you're interested in getting pampered here you may have to book 1 month out in advance depending upon your schedule. Luckily for me, when I called I had a bit more flexibility in my schedule and decided to go on a Monday morning. I received a 30-minute massage with JESSICA and an 1-hour Facial with JACOBI. Both ladies did a great job of making me feel comfortable and relaxed. I really enjoyed the products they used on my body/face. Seeing as I have sensitive skin, I let them know if advance what I was allergic to and they had no problem accommodating me. There's a nice little waiting room you can relax in while you wait for your service (see picture). They have a pretty big nail tech area with plenty of colors to choose from, an gift shop area where you can purchase products, and water/tea for tasting. Overall, the staff was really nice and I LOVED the interior of the space. As for parking, there's a parking structure attached to the building. If you park on the first level you can get reimbursed. My back feels great and my face looks fabulous - I'll be back, soon! read more

I tried their organic nail polish and as soon as it dried, it shrunk so it looked like your nail had already grown. You could see part of the nail by the cuticle. Not sure why it's successful if it doesn't look fresh. ‍ I tried their facial but all they did was apply products and I left with the same blackheads My face didn't feel clean. I also tried their eyebrow artist who was amazing! Loved her! Unfortunately, she left. I'm afraid of going back and striking out again. The nice thing about this place is that if you're not satisfied, they will give you a refund. However, they won't provide the same service for you in the future and it makes you feel like you did something wrong by not being satisfied. Instead of trying to improve their service with your feedback you have a note on your account to not get serviced again. read more

Oh my goodness, what a dream! Beach House did an AMAZING job with my bachelorette party of 10. They have a separate "party room" where all of the girls can relax, drink & eat between treatments. They supply mimosas & champagne flutes but you are also able to bring your own food and drinks. During our party, I had four treatments - massage, facial, mani and pedi. All were the epitome of relaxation. The massage & facial both lulled me to sleep while also making me feel refreshed and energized afterward. Such a beautiful experience and although it ended up being quite pricy, it is totally worth every penny. I'm so grateful to them for making my day so special! read more

I received a Beach House gift card for my past birthday from my girlfriends. I was very excited to give the spa a try as I had heard wonderful things. The spa was truly beautiful and the waiting room was very relaxing. I did the Therapeutic Massage because of the articulated "strong manipulation of muscles, particularly for problem areas". I thought this would be perfect for my trap pain that I get relatively often. After explaining my needs to the masseuse she said not a problem. She proceeded to a do a full body massage which was nice, but I would have appreciated her spending more time on the problem area like we discussed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had very high hopes for this spa, but was completely and utterly disappointed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I spent $165 on a gift card for my boyfriend that he never used, so I scheduled a massage to use the gift card myself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At checkout after the massage, the woman working at the front desk took about 20 minutes messing around with the gift card to finally tell me that it's not associated with my name, even though I'm the one who purchased it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It also wasn't associated with my boyfriend's name in their system. So they said they would not accept it. They also said they associate all gift cards in their system with the person buying and receiving the card. I responded that they must not have done this for my card or that they must not have input it in their system correctly, which is not my fault and I should not lose out on this expense because of this. They kept repeating the fact that the gift card was not associated with my account, and that there was nothing they could do unless I figured out when I purchased the gift card (it had been years). [[HIGHLIGHT]]This situation made me late to an appointment, so they said I could leave for now and come back with proof that I purchased this gift card and the date that I purchased it, which is ridiculous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The manager also said I wouldn't be charged until I came back to figure it out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I then spent hours looking through old credit card statements for 3 different cards over the past few years, and finally found the purchase. I returned to receive my refund, as they had charged my card even though they said they wouldn't, and the manager was completely unapologetic. She said that she would have to look into it. Then she told me that the gift card had been used, so I asked if that means they had sold me a used gift card. She said no. Then I explained what a huge inconvenience this has been, and how surprised I was for this establishment to be so unreliable with their customers' money. She finally figured out that I was given a different gift card than what matched my purchase. So, in the end, they sold me a used gift card with $0 on it and charged me $165, and would only honor the $165 after I spent hours looking through old credit card statements. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I received no apology whatsoever.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After the fact, I went to look at reviews and found a review with a situation very similar to mine. Please don't spend your money here if you want what you paid for, especially as a gift to someone else! This place is magical. The physical space is beautiful but it's the kind welcome, communication, and talent of each individual you'll meet here that makes this a wonderful experience. I enjoyed 30 minutes in the Infrared sauna followed by an amazing massage with Dagney and facial with Maeci. A friend joined me and our services were coordinated so we could some time together in the relaxation lounge in between. I started out with The Beach Brow with Tresha who shaped my eyebrows and cleaned them up with such delicate care! I was very impressed!! She really knew attention to detail and was so precise! I love them so so much and will definitely be back in the future! She also told me about a company called Drybar that is nation wide where you can just go in and get a quick blowout which I already have an appointment prior to my Shoot! I can tell she cares so much about Beauty and making a woman feel the best in her own body!! I truly appreciate her very much!! After that, I had an appointment with Ingrid to do my nails! I had the Gel Manicure and Tresha recommended the natural polish which I absolutely love!! Ingrid is Amazing at nails! She really made them look better than they ever have!! I see why women love being pampered in such a way! She was very knowledgeable and she made it look so easy! I loved the machine they used too! And they still look as fresh as the day I walked out! My hands felt so soft and poche afterwards too! I know I am 'model ready' now for my shoot!! I am extremely impressed and happy with my Manicure and will be back again!! My husband got me a spa day here for my birthday! The atmosphere was absolutely perfect, it put me in the perfect zen mode! The atmosphere really lives up to the name. Everything was white and blue and reminded me of the beach. I was taken to the back area where I was given a robe and slippers and sat in the waiting area until my therapist was ready. The lights were dim and they had water or champagne for you to drink while waiting & magazines of course with soft music playing in the background. My therapist came (don't want to mention her name) and she was SO sweet. However, she spoke to me the whole time, which during a massage- I kind of just want to enjoy the silence. But it was more of a headache than a relaxation. Again though, she was very nice. After this, I had a mani/pedi. The salon brought me out a little plate of cheese and crackers with a candle! It was such a sweet gesture. My mani/pedi were wonderful! No complaints, except for that they didn't offer shellac at the time I went in, which was a year ago in Feb and I had checked their website and they do offer shellac now! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5, is honestly because of the therapist that spoke to me the whole time. She was the sweetest but I didn't get to enjoy the quiet "me" time. read more

I came in for a facial on my birthday. I thought the atmosphere was nice and the facial overall was ok. Not the best that I've had. My skin didn't feel as clean and radiant as others in the past. She recommended some products that I purchased l. Upon trying them for a week and a half, I was unhappy with the results. My skin was reacting with whatever was in the products. I called to see if I could return them (I remember the aesthetician saying I could do so). Come to find out I couldn't and the lady on the phone said I could buy different products if I would like but can't return or exchange these. Haha no thank you. My good friend has been singing the praises of The Beach House Day Spa for a very long time. Of course, I'm a HUGE skeptic, and I always figured, that this was a biased preference. Well, he was, yes HE, was right! If you are someone who regularly gets their nails done, this is where you should go--if you live in the Detroit area. I host my own events and I am a stickler for atmosphere and design. I was struck by the feeling you get as soon as you walk in the BACK door. Usually the back door of a location is sort of an afterthought. Not here. This just shows the attention to detail. The motif of the hallway is a choice and not an afterthought. The gentle waves on the wall panels lead you to the center of the salon. This all makes sense since the name IS The Beach House Day Spa. Another thing that struck me about this location is that it didn't have the overwhelming odor of acetone. For the lay person this is nail polish remover. I don't mind that smell, but it was nice to not experience it. The "smell" of this spa is not overpowering either. It's just fresh and clean. Sometimes this affect can be difficult to achieve. My service was conducted by Lauren (I hope I spelled that correctly). She was so darned NICE, without seeming fake. Before I sing her praises let me tell you about the spa chair. Whoa and damn! Maybe I need to get out more, but I have NEVER been in such a cool chair before. I felt like I was in my own mini-Atlantis throne. I expected mermaids to swim up at any moment to ask me if I needed anything. I WAS served a beverage and snack, so I wasn't half wrong. No mermaids though. I have had more pedicures than I can count since I started getting them back in 1999 or so. There is a fine line between being thorough and hurting the customer. It happens and I just usually roll with it because I want the dead skin on my feet gone. Lauren managed to complete the service without ever making me wince. Her polish choices where outstanding and her creativity really showed through in the final result. I simply can't say anything more about how great this place is.
