Hi, my name is Sonny and I'm a Chocoholic. I'm constantly…read morelooking for the best, moistest chocolate cake. And ever since I don't work downtown anymore, I needed to search the northwest burbs for the best chocolate cake. There was always this franchise (Portillo's) that served their famous chocolate cakes by the slice. It was moist and really good. And they remained the best one for such a long time since I really couldn't find any worthy competitors around the northwest burbs, until I saw this tiny shop along Waukegan road-Ganache Bakery. I had to go inside and see what they havd to offer. The word Ganache alone was enough for me to seek em out. Lo and behold, they had Chocolate Cake with ganache icing inside! It was soft and moist and melted in your mouth! I was in heaven! Finally, a place I knew would supply me with the best chocolate cake worthy of any grand celebration. Unfortunately, after the third and fourth purchase, I noticed that it didn't taste the same as the first time we had it. It wasn't as light as the initial experience. It was actually a bit heavier, more dense. It was still moist but, it just wasn't the same anymore. Oh well, the search is back on.

I originally wrote a review over a year ago, but since then I've had two more really excellent…read moreexperiences at Ganache buying things for group events, so I wanted to provide an update. The first was for a St. Patrick's Day party, where I had ordered a tray with 2 pounds of cookies. When I arrived, I noticed that the tray didn't have St. Patrick's Day cookies, just regular cookies. The owner was the one waiting on me, and when I mentioned this to him he apologized immediately, said there must've been a miscommunication, and asked me if I could wait five or 10 minutes and they'd make a brand new tray for me. It probably would've been okay if I took the original tray, but I knew our group really wanted St. Patrick's Day themed desserts for this party of about 40 people. So I said sure I could wait, and the tray they put together was absolutely beautiful. Besides the cookies, it also included some little plastic St. Patrick's Day themed rings and other decorations. Fast forward to last week, when I was tasked with bringing the dessert for a monthly board meeting. I called and again spoke with the owner, and explained what I needed. I thought it would be fun to bring some holiday-themed items, and I had seen a picture of their Yule logs on their website, so I inquired about those. We chatted about it, he asked me the type of cake and filling, I also ordered a 1 pound box of cookies and a gluten-free cupcake for one of our members, and I picked them up before the meeting two days later. Everything was absolutely perfect. Their Yule logs are beautiful - mine looked exactly like the picture on their website - and again there were little rings and other decorations on it. One of the other board members was so impressed with it that she immediately said she was ordering her own for the holidays and took several pictures of it, and everyone asked me what bakery I used. Oh, and the cookies and cupcake were great, too! I have a feeling they'll be getting some more business from our group from this for sure, as they should!

I've always been disappointed because you guys didn't offer plastic forks or spoons but today surprise surprise... you listened and I got my fork. Which means I was finally able to enjoy my sweet treat in the car!! My daughters also love the lemon so I got them 2 and honestly, I could probably eat all three but I'll be a nice mom and share :-) These reviews make me realize that I eat way too many bundt cakes... oh well!

Banana Pudding Bundt Cake made with Nilla: Nothing Bundt Cakes (NBC) Banana Pudding Bundt Cake was…read morefirst introduced in 2025, but its limited run from 2/16-4/12/26 was my first tasting. Opening the container, the cake itself had a yellow/golden color and a mild vanilla aroma. The official description is "a delectably comforting banana cake, baked with real banana puree, made with real Mini Nilla Wafers and drizzled with vanilla pudding" (and of course their delicious, sweet cream cheese frosting). As usual, the texture is superb, with one of the best aspects of their cakes being the exceptional moistness of them. In this case, I think the pudding and possibly banana puree contributes to the moistness factor as this seemed moister than usual (in a good way). This is where things get a little perplexing. The name "Banana Pudding" makes me think that the pudding would be banana flavored, but according to the description, the pudding is vanilla and the batter is what's made with bananas. My taste buds only got a vanilla flavor from both the pudding and the cake though (zero banana). There was a fair amount of vanilla pudding in the center, but both the pudding drizzled on the exterior and in the center is difficult to see with the naked eye. The Nilla Wafers were crisp, but soft. I can't really hold this against NBC because unless eaten immediately after prep it's almost impossible to keep them crisp. It's also important to note that the wafers were baked throughout the cake and not just the conspicuous one decorating the summit. Unfortunately, the Nilla Wafers do not really contribute anything as the overall flavor is already vanilla and the soft texture gets lost within the moistness of the cake. This one is tough because it was a phenomenal vanilla pudding bundt cake, but it's a terrible banana cake. They really should be calling it Vanilla Pudding Bundt Cake made with Nilla. Doughboy approved as a vanilla pudding cake, avoid if you're hoping for bananas. Doughboy_Food_Reviews My top bundt cakes: 1. OREO 2. Biscoff Cookie Butter 3. Confetti 4. Churro Dulce de Leche 5. S'mores made with Hershey's

Biscoff Cookie Butter Bundt Cake: Nothing Bundt Cakes (NBC) has become one of my favorite guilty…read morepleasures. I especially enjoy their individual sized "Bundtlets". The Biscoff Cookie Butter flavor first stormed the scene as a "pop-up" Bundtlet in fall 2025. It's back by popular demand from 1/5-2/15/26. Opening the container, the cake itself had a light brown/tan color. The official description is a Bundtlet baked with Biscoff cookies and drizzled with cookie butter (and of course their delicious, sweet cream cheese frosting). As usual, the texture is superb, with one of the best aspects of their cakes being the exceptional moistness of them. In this case, the cookie butter drizzle contributes to the moistness factor. The flavor of the actual cake leans toward generic spice or cinnamon. Bites containing the cookie butter drizzle and/or pieces of Biscoff Cookie make the signature flavor pronounced on the taste buds though. The Biscoff cookies are not crisp, but soft. I can't really hold this against NBC because unless eaten immediately after prep it's almost impossible to keep them crisp. It's also important to note that the cookies are baked throughout the cake and not just the conspicuous one decorating the summit. My only real complaint is it was a missed opportunity not to include cookie butter as a filling in the core, especially since this had a dollar upcharge. With the similar enough Snickerdoodle flavor being recently discontinued, I would like to see the Biscoff made a permanent member alongside the OREO Cookies & Cream (their best in my opinion). Still, another great flavor from NBC. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My top bundt cakes: 1. OREO 2. Biscoff Cookie Butter 3. Confetti 4. Churro Dulce de Leche 5. S'mores made with Hershey's

Dubai chocolate cake - dry. Never thought I'd say a nothing Bundt cake is dry but it was dry. It also had a lot less frosting than their normal cake, it eas a tiny skinny line of chocolate frosting rather than their nice think lines of frosting. Then finally, missing filling. We thought we saw green for a second, maaaaybe a teeny tiny bit, there but there wasn't anything there really! That's the whole point of the Dubai chocolate so that was certainly a disappointment. Banana pudding - loved it! Needed more banana pudding but loved the flavor. Oreo - pretty good Had to lower stars because of very disappointing Dubai chocolate cake.
