Me: Look out window, see Sweet Ride truck, yell: Oooooooo!!! Ask husband: Want something? Husband: Don't like sweets. Me: Ok. Run outside, buy Whoopie Pie and Salted Caramel Cupcake. Me: Return to apartment, say to husband: Want bite? Husband: Sure. Takes bite: Mmmmm, good! Me: Want? Husband: Yes. Me: Run outside, buy more Whoopie Pies! Husband: Teach you to use articles. Me: Teach you wife know good sh*t. EDITING TO ADD: Yeah, so I also bought myself a Salted Caramel Cupcake. I took one delicious bite and made the mistake of putting it down for a second. Along came the Hubby, picked it up and ate the rest. All the while proclaiming that it was delicious and that he normally does not like sweets, but that I never told him the cupcake had real caramel in the center. And, wouldn't you know it, the truck is now gone, so no cupcake for me. So sad!

First of all, they really do live up to their name. This lil hot pink truck with flames and spinner hubs is pretty Sweet, and full of Sweets too. This is the first cupcake truck I've bumped into, so I was excited. They were unfortunetly running low on Sweets during my first encounter. I picked up an original Whoopie Pie and a Chocoloate Cupcake. I ate the Whoopie Pie myself, but shared the Cupcake. They both have a mild sweetness, which is nice that it's not all sugar, but I favored the Whoopie Pie more. Some people have complained that Whoopie Pies are dry, but that's by design. They are not moist spongy cupcakes, they are two rounded halves of sugary bread surrounding whoopie creamy goodness. They wouldn't even taste good if they were make like cupcakes, not to mention they'd be a bit messy to eat. Since my first visit, I "Liked" them on Facebook and am able to track their whereabouts, as well as sales and new items. You can also "Follow" them on Twitter. On my last visit I picked up a Red Velvet Cupcake and a Red Velvet Whoopie Pie. The cupcake was just ok - I think it needed a bit more sweetness to it - but the Whoopie Pie was great. I guess I'm a Whoopie Pie guy (woe, that rhymes!). The Whoopie Pie did have distinct chocolate taste unlike the cupcake. Give em both a try and let me know what you think. I think I'm just hard on red velvet since my I haven't found anyone that makes it better than my friend does. So yes I'm a fan, and so long as they are in close proximity to where I am, I'm sure I'll find them. I'll probably only stick with the sales though, because the goods are a bit over priced if you ask me.

I visited this truck a few months back and recently discovered it again when I was in search of a pick me up to help work go by faster. I had the red velvet first and it was delicious! The frosting was perfect. It wasn't too sweet, the consistency was nice and smooth and it melted in my mouth. The cake was super moist and tasty. The portion size was perfect. I can't remember how much I paid for it since that was a while ago. This week, I stopped by in search of that red velvet cupcake. I came a little after 1:30 and the truck wasn't ready! :( I went back to my office a little disappointed, but I went back about an hour later and they were ready. Unfortunately, the red velvet was sold out. I tried the salted caramel cupcake instead. I think I needed to give it a bit of time before I ate it since the cake was still a little hard after being in the cooler. The frosting seemed hard as well, but most likely since it was chilled to prevent all the frosting from melting. The cake was good - not as moist as I recall the red velvet one being, but OK nonetheless. I tasted the cake by itself and didn't really get the caramel flavor out of it. However, I did enjoy the frosting very much. Overall, good cupcakes and I will definitely be back to get my hands on that red velvet one!

Ice cream. After spending the day outside and then grilling out, we (obviously) needed ice cream to complete our Saturday. We popped into Scoops and Cookies because it's not far from our house and because Homer's Ice Cream is always an enticing offer. They have a *ton* of flavors. The screens above the counter showcase everything, while you can see some of the flavors in the case. We sampled a few before deciding on a scoop of cappuccino chip in a sugar cone (mine) and two scoops of butter pecan and cookie dough in a dish (his). We were helped by who we assumed to be the owner, who was friendly and also keeping things moving as groups (understandably) hemmed and hawed over their flavor choices. While we weren't here for cookies this time, they piqued our interest and we'll explore that more on our next visit. There are quite a few tables inside with lots of seating, and everything was clean. Did this just become our new favorite ice cream place? Maybe!

The chocolate chip cookie was my favorite out of the three with the chocolate/chocolate being a close second! I wished there was a salted chocolate chip cookie on the menu though Definitely adding this place to my guides and will try to stop by every time I'm in town

I hadn't been since their renovation and made it there last Thursday. It was really cute ambiance - I loved the interior designer's work. The place has options of seating - inside and outside, ranging from metal chairs to comfortable upholstered benches. We got the tom kha to begin with, which my husband, who's not vegetarian, devoured. It was truly delicious! We then got the Kung Pao with mushrooms and it was incredible - the flavors, the choice of vegetables, the sauce - all of it! We also got a chow mein but with rice noodles - this was the one dish that could take some improvement. Granted, the original recipe calls for wheat noodles, and that might be really good, though our rice noodles version of it was came out soggy. Our server had clearly had a long day - she was tired and forgetful (didn't bring us rice and we had a hard time flagging her down to request it). She also just brought us the check after dinner, without asking if we wanted any dessert. All in all, highly recommend this place for delicious plant-based food.
