I ordered a baptism / birthday cake for my son Noah. I had many compliments on the cake. The top was shaped as Noah's Arc. The animals and boat were made out of fondant. Wow! It was so cute and creative. Honestly, the best cake I've ordered so far. Aside from the cuteness of the cake, it tasted amazing. I wasn't sure what I was going to get as far as filling, but I asked Selina for recommendations. Because I couldn't decide between the two, she suggested maybe getting marble w/ white chocolate ganache on one tier and the vanilla cake with bavarian cream and fresh strawberries on the other. I knew I wanted something perfect for summer. Light, cooler on the palate, with fruit. I decided to go with the bavarian cream w/ fresh strawberries filling for the entire cake. Oh my goodness, it was exactly what I expected. Two points I wanted to touch on that could've been better as far as my experience: 1) The company emailed me a few days later after placing my order and requested payment. I'd already paid in full when I placed the order initially. I was told it was an administrative issue. No problem after that. 2) My husband went to pickup the cake the day of our son's baptism/1st birthday. Whoever was there that Saturday morning forgot to give my husband the "smash cake" (small cake 1-year-old gets to have and play with / smash). Dream Cakes, however, did call that morning and apologized and suggested that they drop it off at our event location. Luckily, it was only 15 minutes away from their bakery / office. Overall, I'm so happy with the cake I ordered. I would definitely order from Dream Cakes again and would recommend it to any friends / family. Please plan ahead as they need advanced notice -I believe 3 weeks in advance. AND, make sure you look at your order in full upon pickup if you can. Good job, Dream Cakes! read more

I ordered an expensive cake for my son's second birthday and provided specific instructions regarding what the cake should say. The cake was beautiful EXCEPT that Dream Cakes MISSPELLED my son's name. The woman who was available at pick-up was not the cake-maker. She attempted to "fix" the cake in a hurry, but did so in a subpar and amateurish manner that made it obvious that a mistake had been made. Of course, I had prepaid for the cake and Dream Cakes made no amends at all for something that was 100% their mistake. Something like this should never happen, but what's particuarly egregious here is the fact that (1) we paid an extraordinary amount; and (2) as mentioned, I had specifically instructed them via e-mail regarding the spelling of my son's name. Go elsewhere where the baker actually appreciates your business -- there are lots of other options for 3-D cakes. read more
