For my first meal in Austin --- especially after getting off a plane, I'm so glad this was my first meal, it absolutely hit the spot!
Came around 5:15PM, and was seated immediately in a booth. My server was Jordan, couldn't have had anyone more sweeter or helpful. She gave me some of the best-sellers, and I settled on the Trio Fajitas --- which comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp for about $27.
As I waited for my entree, she gave me a HUGE basket of chips with housemade salsa & charro beans --- they were so good after eating airport food all day. I asked Jordan for a "spicier" salsa, and she brought out a serrano salsa --- it had a bit more kick, but wasn't the "fuego" I was hoping for.
When my fajitas came out, the sizzling was ON POINT. Near the shrimp was the "seafood butter" that I poured all over those shrimps. Jordan recommended trying both corn and flour tortillas, and I highly recommend the same if you come by. Both are handmade.
The fajitas hit the spot. The chips were light and amazing. Jordan's serving was kind and quick. Lupe Tortilla --- you did your thing!
Leaving around 6PM, restaurant was getting crowded. Plan early to visit Lupe's Tortilla! read more
