I had called a bunch of roofing companies but most were just interested in roof replacement and not repair. SO glad we got the referral to South County Roofing! We had an old water stain we recently found on a closet ceiling as well as an old water stain on our kitchen ceiling that we wanted to get checked for a roof leak. Jesse came out to take a look for us - he was kind, honest, professional and knowledgeable! He reassured us that the old water stain from the closet was not likely to be from a roof leak and suggested potential causes for the stain on the kitchen ceiling (stucco or chimney)- all part of the free estimate. He took pictures and told us to call him if we noticed any new water stains so he could better pinpoint the problem and he would come take care of us. Solid company! I would not hesitate to contact them again.

Importantly, there is no subcontracting unlike some other roofing companies which stated their use in fine print. The entire crew worked seamlessly work together in unison to finish my whole reroofing in 3 days. I was initially skeptical since others stated 5+ days, but I could see how organized and efficient the team was. Since roofing is expensive and stressful, I made sure to get four other competitive quotes from other roofers. The price from ASR came out the best with the same specs, but I would still have went with ASR even if they were more expensive, just because of the trust I had in Bryan. Throughout, I got to meet Bryan's father, Frank who has 30 years of roofing experience and was accommodating to my needs such as when I requested protection of my garden during tear-off. I also met Bryans brother Steven during the shingle installation, which reinforced the sense that this was a family business that genuinely cares about the quality of their work. Finally, after the installation was finished, the team still cared very much about passing inspection for permitting and to ensure their reputation is upheld. Even after payment was completed, they continued providing follow-up support when needed, which gave me additional assurances in their commitment to quality. I highly recommend All Service Roofing (ASR).

I waited until the project was fully completed before writing this review because I wanted to give…read morePremium Roofing every opportunity to address the issues we experienced. Unfortunately, while the roof itself ultimately got completed and the problems were eventually addressed, the experience getting there was extremely frustrating. This was not a cheap roofing project, and I expected much better communication, care for my property, and accountability. During the project, several things happened that I believe future customers should be aware of: * A bench on my property was damaged. * My security cameras were damaged. * After the tear-off, broken pieces of old roofing/wood were left throughout my attic. * Nails and debris were left around the property, which was especially concerning because I have two young daughters. * Most importantly, the existing roof-to-patio transition was disturbed during the reroof and afterward we had leaks in areas that did not leak before the project. The patio transition was the most frustrating part. I understand that my existing patio roof was old and was not part of their reroofing scope. My issue was not that I expected them to replace my patio. My issue was that the existing transition between the house roof and patio had been keeping water out before the project. During the reroof, the existing material at that transition was removed/disturbed so the new roof could be installed. I was not warned beforehand that doing so could leave the patio transition vulnerable, nor was I given the opportunity to decide how I wanted that transition handled before the work proceeded. When it subsequently leaked, I had to repeatedly argue that I wasn't asking them to replace my patio; I simply wanted the transition restored so it didn't leak after their work. Initially, I was told that the patio wasn't within their scope. Eventually they returned and applied membrane/mastic to the transition, but even then I was the one who had to climb up and water-test the roof with a hose to identify the remaining leak locations. They came back again to address those areas. What bothered me most wasn't that problems occurred. Construction projects can have problems. It was the lack of ownership when they did. None of these issues were proactively brought to my attention. I discovered them myself through inspections and then had to contact the company to get them addressed. At times, the site supervision seemed annoyed that I was asking them to correct damage or conditions that arose during the project. After the fourth issue, I finally escalated my concerns beyond the site supervisor by calling and emailing upper management. I had deliberately tried to resolve the first several problems directly with the people managing my project rather than immediately escalating them. Despite that, I never received a call from upper management to acknowledge what had happened, apologize, or ask how they could make the experience right. There were also smaller things that added to the frustration. For example, their large marketing banner remained on my property after the roofing work was finished. When I asked that it be removed, I was told it would stay because they still had to return regarding the leak. Considering everything that had already happened, that didn't sit well with me. To Premium Roofing's credit, they ultimately came back and addressed the issues I raised, and I want to be fair about that. My complaint isn't that they simply walked away. It's that getting these things corrected required far more inspecting, documenting, calling, following up and arguing on my part than I believe a homeowner should have to do after paying for a professional reroof. If you're considering them, my advice isn't necessarily "don't hire them." It's to protect yourself from the beginning: photograph your property before work starts, photograph your attic, cameras and anything around the house that could be damaged, clarify in writing how every existing roof transition will be handled, inspect the property carefully after each phase, and don't assume someone will point out damage or potential problems to you. I chose Premium in part because I was willing to pay for what I thought would be a higher level of service and accountability. The finished roof may ultimately perform well, the valleys and asphalt look good, and I have the GAF Golden Pledge warranty, but based on the project-management and customer-service experience I had, I can't give them a positive review.

They cleaned up every single day and even worked around a baby's sleep schedule on a couple instances. And best off, they did a great job. He cited that he had done a lot of commercial work. It all sounded great. We needed an entire roof of a Four-plex ripped and replaced. Communication was prompt and project moved along well. Before we sent final payment, we went over some remaining issues and things were fixed. Then things changed drastically. A major storm came and caused leaks. It took weeks for Scott to respond to the emergency request to have the issue patched up. A brand-new roof shouldn't be leaking. Another storm came by and again, it took days for him to reply back and take care of the issue once and for all. Any interior damage caused by these leaks were not covered under warranty, according to him, though that clause is unenforceable in the State of California for this situation. However, I had let it slide and decided to fix it myself later. Half a year later when one of the tenants moved out, I saw indentations across the ceiling as if sharp objects were pushed down from above. The tenant had never informed me, but she said that they appeared during the roof replacement. I also saw that the water heater exhaust pipe was loose and no longer attached to the roof frame. Same story for the HVAC exhaust pipe. It was clear that when the roof was replaced, the workers did not take great care to ensure the exhaust pipes were securely fastened back. I texted Scott. I called the number on the company's website. I sent a message through the website. I emailed. It's been a week with no response. [UPDATE: He finally responded after I submitted this review on Yelp and cited that interior damage is not covered under warranty. I informed him that this was untrue and am asking him to take responsibility for the damage caused. I rather not file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board, but will if he keeps hiding behind that unenforceable warranty clause. If necessary, I will have another roofer provide a second opinion, fix the issues, and have the State go after him for reimbursement.]
