Great ambience and a smaller local joint open late! Perfect for group settings (which was us) and the merrier in the summer cause of the massive patio along Yew st. My overall favorite was the birra taco - super fresh, and I'm always a sucker for cheesy crisps along the brim of the taco - it's slightly messier to eat than the rest but 100p worth. Both the fried chicken taco nachos platter were standard items in my mind - extra points for being made fresh to order. If I lived any closer to the neighborhood I can see myself here often as the tacos are fairly inexpensive, tasty with a nice range of selection, and opens late!

Oh my gosh! The food was so delectable. Where else can you find gluten free chicken? Service was fast both times I went, and the workers were so sweet. The ambiance was great. Fun, friendly, chill, great music, and an overall amazing experience! Will definitely be coming back. 10/10!

In addition to the awesomeness explained in my previous review, another HUGE appeal of Lucky taco is that they are open late. For food! You can get a taco after 11 pm on the westside. We have been several times taking advantage of this when the sun is setting so late in the day. Fish tacos are delicious also. Service is always super friendly and chill and if you get the right bartender, he'll educate you on his favorite Blanco tequilas. Learning and fun!

What a truly pleasant surprise for the Yew Street drag. Okay, being a Kitsilano residence, I sometimes feel that these restaurants in the really busy/well known parts of Kits are here just to cater to a young frat-sorority-vibe crowd that just want a fun place to drink and hang out but might compromise on quality.. So, Lucky Taco IS that place that all the youngins hang out at but they really do have GREAT tacos and fun cocktails! We stopped by and stood on their standing patio and chowed down on absolutely delicious tacos. We got Barbacoa, Pork Belly and Spicy Chorizo. They were hefty tacos - not like super ginormous but definitely not the smaller sized Mexican tacos you would find at Sal Y Limon. We shared the 3 and were satiated. They came with hot sauce options and we loved the little extra touches of crispiness or double decker. I'm drooling right now. We would definitely return.

The taco was delicious, ambience on point, but service not great. My quesabirria was really tasty, even though they ran out of lamb and had to sub with beef. It took a long time to get our orders, the server seemed tired and was short with us. It was busy in there even on a Wednesday night! Probably short-staffed that day, or need to hire more servers!

Very disappointing when you visit a restaurant which was once a favourite. We put 1hr into the parking meter & had to top up the meter again before we even got served our tacos. On top of that, a couple that arrived after us got served their tacos before my friend & I. The cauliflower taco that my friend ordered was cold and the beef in the one I order was dry and unpleasant. I think this place is under-staffed and can regain their title as a top taco place if they handle this issue. I really hope they can.

This location has changed restaurant several times, maybe it's the spot or something. It used to be Abigail's Party, then Supermarine and now Lucky Taco. The server waa great. Friendly, outgoing and attentive. The time for food was slow. The food is okay. We got the nachos with braised beef. There wasn't much beef except a small patch to the side. We ordered the sexy fries. That took a long time to come out, not sure why, maybe they gave ours to someone else. Well it wasnt sexy, it was more of "happy tater tots" because it was tater tots with some ingredients mixed in. I ordered the Al Pastor and spicy chorizo tacos. The price is for one taco. My friends ordered crispy prawn and fried chicken. They took a long time to come out too. Food is okay, servers are good but the food took a long time.

This taco place is a very cute and cozy location that has a patio. They have awesome food and drink selections and the service is pretty good. I would say you could get a drink and meal for around 25$. Two tacos would have filled me up. The fried chicken taco was delicious and flavorful. I will definitely come back and try other items on the menu.

I tried this place with a girlfriend yesterday for the first time. We walked in around 6pm and we got seated right away. ( We came at a good time because, as the night went on lots of people started coming in trying to get a seat ) Its definitely better with smaller groups. We ended up ordering chips & salsa and added guacamole on the side. We both had a lovely glass of sangria. I decided to try the beef barbacoa & the Baja fish taco. My friend had the pork belly taco. Everything was fresh & delicious! Service was good as well. Our server was very friendly and she kept checking up on our table which was awesome! I just love the decor in this place it's just so cute and colorful! I will definitely come back and try some more tacos when I'm in the area.

Our server was attentive and around when we needed something but never interrupting, and his recommendations ended up being some of our favourite dishes. The anchovy olives were a standout, super crispy, packed with flavour, and not overly fishy at all (great if you're a bit hesitant about anchovies). The mushroom toast was rich, savoury, and full of umami. Just a heads up not to let it sit too long since it softens the bread. The tuna tartare was fresh and well-balanced. Not my personal favourite served on toast, but still really enjoyable overall. The paella was excellent, perfectly cooked shrimp, tclams, and crispy pork belly chicharrón that added the best salty, fatty crunch. The roasted cabbage completely surprised me and was easily one of the best veggie dishes I've had in a while. I could have eaten a whole plate of it. We wrapped things up with churros and shared a pitcher of sangria. For three people, it came out to about $68 each before tip, which felt very fair for how much we ordered. Would definitely recommend.

As well, the manchego was so tiny it was like a shaving . The bone marrow amounted to about three teaspoons of marrow. We were so sad and dissatisfied. The patatas bravas was okay. Unfortunately we do not have a reason to return.
