Honestly it was disappointed experience. My company hired them for the event and our food requests were gathered in advance but it took way too long for serve. Chips were ran out quickly and we asked refill but they said too busy now. I just had two tacos after long hours. Not satisfied at all. I got one chicken and one fish tacos. Chicken: nothing special. Very tasty. But some coworkers said very spicy. I don't understand why there were differences. Fish : very juicy white meat fish. I felt salty but very flavorful. I understand and can be patient when the kitchen people were busy. But this case, they had time to estimate everything. Howeber unfortunately It turned out bad performance and bad customer service. I can't accept those. Very disappointed.

OMG THAT PORK JOWL TACO Perfection in taco form. I ordered one but wish I would have ordered three. Next time I'm in that area I'm going to be in a food coma for sure!!! I also ordered the smoked chichen tacos and they were also delish. Pork jowl was just next level nomnomnom.

I definitely agree with a few of my fellow Yelpers that the quality of TacoFino has dropped recently and the prices have gone up. The fish taco that I had seemed a bit different from before and the five dollars that I paid was definitely not justified by either the quality nor the quantity. I really enjoyed their large and fresh deep fried pieces of cod before but now the fish seems a bit off and now there's just way too much batter. I know that five dollars can't get you much in Vancouver (some may argue) but I'm a fairly large guy so if two $5 tacos can't fill me up, then you're not getting my business anymore!

Tacofino has 2 food trucks (one orange, one blue). This review is for the blue truck, which is parked in front of Bentall One. I came here to sample their fish taco based on a tip. Most people seem to think this truck only has burritos (this is 90% true), but this is their one non-burrito dish. At $4.50, it is also the best deal compared to the $10 burritos, though it is definitely somewhat smaller. Be ready to pony up $9 if you feel this way. This taco is something special. The ling cod is battered but not too heavy or greasy. The toppings (peppers and onions) add a nice zing, as well as the lime juice. I might say this is one of the best tacos I've ever had in my life. It's life-changing. One side note: this truck is cash only. We really do have it good in Vancouver.

fish tacos and crispy chicken taco

Ive eaten at many tacofino locations before and many trucks but I finally got around to reviewing the pink truck! This truck will be parked outside robson square on weekdays from 11am-3pm (i think) and I usually aim to get there before the lunch rush. I got my favourite fish taco and I got the crispy chicken taco. The fish taco is a tacofino classic that you can get at many of their other locations and you can never go wrong with it - crispy battered fish, salsa fresca, and chipotle mayo sauce! The crispy chicken taco however is my absolute favourite! I may be wrong but I haven't been able to find it at any of the other tacofino locations besides the truck. The taco consisted of crispy chicken like chicken karaage, parsley, sliced radish, scallions and a mayo sauce and it was so delicious. The crispy juicy chicken paired with the parsley and scallions just made it so delicious. Overall, love for tacofino, and highly reccomend the crispy chicken taco!

    * Two tacos for $10, and you can't even give a full lime wedge?!?!?! * This truck (http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/gdUW6MpgUUzbQnhPA_9qdA?select=Ih5iS5KEs91IxDANlzKbMg) has been getting a lot of positive reviews, so I had to check it out myself. My impressions? 1) Severely overpriced. $5.50 for a flank steak taco, and $4.50 for a fish taco. That is just too high for a taco. Sorry. I'm perfectly willing to pay for good food. And if this taco really blew me away, perhaps I'd be okay with the pricing. But read on..... 2) The lingcod taco was very good. The fish was very light, with a good crust and was perfectly cooked on the inside. The fish was excellent. The flour tortilla (store bought quality unfortunately) had been grilled nicely at least, but I would prefer a more freshmade taste. The slaw and pico were very fresh. The minuscule slice of lime was kind of annoying though. It wasn't large enough to squeeze, but had the rind so you couldn't just eat it. Kind of silly. So overall the fish was excellent, the toppings fresh, the tortilla was ok, and it was tasty overall for a West Coast style fish taco. Is it worth $4.50 per taco? I'm not sure. Photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/gdUW6MpgUUzbQnhPA_9qdA?select=9iyQFjUv-uFqPCtwmABfxA 3) The flank steak taco was more disappointing. It was served with the same toppings as the fish taco, with the addition of guacamole and a little corn. It had that same stupid little piece of lime too. Unfortunately the flank steak was just not a high quality ingredient. It was tough, underseasoned, and not something I would order again. Particularly when you consider the $5.50 per taco price, which is absurd unless the quality was much higher. Photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/gdUW6MpgUUzbQnhPA_9qdA?select=7D0L3gKUuGoyDdzCSGIPOg You can see a close-up of the toppings, and see they are fresh, and that ridiculously small piece of lime that is impossible to use. But keep in mind that little plate with a single fish taco and a single flank steak taco cost $10! I imagine with a full chunk of lime it would be at least $12! Photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/gdUW6MpgUUzbQnhPA_9qdA?select=s_oI664SkDjtJov7g1s8Cg Overall the fish was very good, the rest I'm not so much a fan of. I think the $9.50 for a plate of four tacos (photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/okWMFFl3q-bRh9ohaiqAlQ?select=Muy-M_SkK3RoNZ_PAPbJHg) at a nice comfortable sitdown Don Guacamole's, along with as many lime wedges as you'd like is a much better deal both quality and price wise!

Wow. Pretty amazing fish tacos! One bite into it and I was in love. The lightly battered ling cod was just perfectly cooked, soft and fresh. Chipotle mayo and the salsa fresca added the right amount of flavour, and the cabbage added texture. I savoured every single bite and wanted more....

Arrived at the truck at noon to find 30-40 people scattered around waiting for their food. One girl took orders while 2 guys worked the kitchen. Forget going there if you are under a time crunch, because my wait was 30-35 minutes minimum for 2 tacos. I mean, really, these guys need at least 4, preferably more, kitchen staff to handle that kind of mad volume walking up to their truck! Thank goodness it was sunny and warm. Doubt I would put up with that when our rainy winter weather hits. Order of the day: 1) Tuna ta taco ($6.50) - basically a tuna tataki taco. Fresh ingredients, flavour was light and refreshing. Relatively healthy option except for the mayo. Well, guess I can live with that -- and it was incredibly yum! 2) Regular fish taco ($4.50) - flavour was also good but too bad all I tasted was fried batter. Barely any fish to be had. Not likely a repeat since fried fish is fatty anyway. Great food all in all but just be forewarned that the wait is very long and so darn expensive.

Veggie burrito (in a bowl) - $10 Totally worth it. I loved this. Sooo yummy, I ate all of it! Super fresh veggies, rice was cooked well, beans were tasty. Would get again.

I finally caved in. I've had bad fish tacos in the past. Like, "have to work from home because I've been hurling my skeleton for three days" kind of bad fish tacos. I have been reluctant to try fish tacos again, especially in advance of the last long weekend of the summer. But I sucked it up, and I'm glad I did! The Tuna Ta-Taco was delicious. Tuna perfectly seared, crunchy cabbage, and what the heck was that seaweed salad? Because it was amazing! The fish taco was really good too. The cod was fresh and the batter was lovely and light. Even better, they take debit. It's so embarrassing to place your order, and then remember you haven't any cash (because I don't usually carry cash, it makes my wallet bulky and ugly) at the trucks that only take cash. Then you have to make the dash to the bank machine and stand in line, hoping you can complete the transaction before they give your order away, or before it gets cold ... but I digress. They take debit at TacoFino. Maybe credit too. Probably cash as well. Really good tacos.

I recently visited TacoFino Cantina during my lunch break. Mind you it was blazing hot on a Friday afternoon! I wanted to check out Mom's Grilled Cheese but after seeing the long line up... I decided to pass on it and check out TacoFino. There was definitely a line up but it wasn't as much as the Grilled Cheese food truck. This food truck is located on Howe St and Robson St. Right where the Art Gallery is on Howe. I wouldn't recommend driving in that area at all since they're all one way street, not through roads, no left turn, no right turn. Basically, a total mess to drive! Its convienetly located within walking distance to a nearby Skytrain ( Granville station) so I highly recommend either taking the skytrain or walk there. You want to go there between 11am-2pm. They are only open during lunch hours on Monday to Fridays. Because my laptop , yes its still in repairs... I've had to result to taking photos with my iPhone. The wait was around 10 minutes, not too bad at all. Though keep in mind that there are no seats! A lot of people were sitting on the ledge of the art gallery and some on the stairs. It was a sunny day so I didn't mind it at all. I mean I guess you could always go into Pacific Center and eat in the food court :) It's quite close to Tacofino. I ordered their Tuna-ta taco which is Tuna tataki (seared Tuna) with seaweed salad, a hint of wasabi dressing, a bit of diced tomatoes with cilantro and shredded cabbage in it. I believe there is also a bit of soya sauce in there as well (correct me if I'm wrong). Taste? AMAZING. It was like having a.. Izakaya dish in a mexican taco shell. That's probably the best way to describe it! There are at least 4 slices of thick tuna in there and be sure to grab a fork from the food truck because their loaded toppings are guranteed to overflow! Price: ~$7 I would have to say it is on the pricey side for the size of the taco and that it is only one taco for $7. I mean most of it you eat it for the flavor and the vibe around there :) I would definitely go back again.

Fish tacos -- big chunks of fish, it rocks!

LOVE TacoFino! First discovered them on vacation in Tofino and so glad they've brought a truck to the lower mainland. The menu doesn't seem as large as the one in Tofino, but it has all the basics. The fish tacos are my fave and I don't even really like seafood. With big chunks of freshly fried fish, the tacos are then topped with chipotle mayo and fresh salsa. Divine. If you want something sweet, try the spicy Diablo ice cream sandwich ;-)

TACOFINO, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE??? I think I just had the most amazing fish taco ever. I don't even like tacos. And I don't know how to eat them either. But after the first bite I would've stuffed my face with it if its contents didn't threaten to spill everywhere. It's in the excellent battered ling cod sitting in delicately flavoured chipotle mayo under fresh lettuce and tomatoes. There's just something so tasty about this crunchy delight I'm officially obsessed with now. I've been converted.

    * The Definition of Torpedo *…read more Urban Dictionary has multiple definitions or "Torpedo": - To betray, backstab, diss, or punk someone with the intent of causing harm to their reputation. - When objects or people look beautiful from far away, but dangerous or ugly up close. - A long turd. The menu sounded promising (although overpriced for a food truck) with some nice classic sandwiches on offer. I ordered the "mumia" ($12) - which I have to assume is a play on Mumia Abu-Jamal who is from Philadelphia, home of the cheesesteak? Anyhoo... The description was very cheesesteak like with sirloin beef, pepperjack cheese, sauteed onions and peppers. The addition of garlic aioli moved away from the classic as did the usage of pepperjack instead of provolone. When I unwrapped the sandwich, I was torpedoed with an excessive amount of a watery oily substance dripping all over the place. It got all over everything - not in a good way. Biting into the sandwich was the next torpedoing. The bread was stale. I don't mean day old. I mean stale. Next torpedo: the beef was chewy, gristly, and very oily. The peppers were the best part - but they too were overly oily. Basically each bite gave you a mouthful of stale bread, a piece of oily gristle flavoured by an oily pepper and a drippy oily substance (perhaps a broken aioli?). I couldn't eat the bread. Tried picking off the meat and veggies to eat, but gave up as they were too awful on their own. Photos: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/tasty-torpedo-vancouver?select=aorGigi_39ldUheXPUynsQ#aorGigi_39ldUheXPUynsQ and http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/tasty-torpedo-vancouver?select=i8BEF8GCeNEZMql6nK1uYA#i8BEF8GCeNEZMql6nK1uYA So I'm left concluding that I was served an overpriced torpedo. In other words, I feel torpedoed that this food truck is a torpedo that serves torpedos!

The lady up front taking the orders was very friendly and was happy to help answer our questions. They only offered a few options but what I had to try was the jerk chicken sandwich as I had stopped a girl just minutes before and attempted to waft hers. Again service was fairly quick and I receive my sandwich within a few minutes. I don't think the picture I've posted will do it any justice but this baby was a beauty. The bun tasted quite fresh and almost melted in my mouth, the chicken and enough spice and flavour and the rest was just bomb. Mama Mia! I didn't…read moreknow if I was chewing my tongue or my birria taco but I didn't care!!! It was going down so yummy! So I'm standing outside a Japanese / Hawaiian food truck eating Mexican tacos! How cool is that!? The braised beef is so tasty & the consomé so flavourful! You just won't stop dipping before every bite! It gets messy so ask for extra napkins! I'm hooked on these Birria tacos & will have to try their other items! Yelpies remember this is a food truck so it's rotating all over town weekly. I got to experience it down here at Joyce Skytrain Station. Fun fact - Kyu originated outta Winnipeg & made it out here to the West Coast. Japanese, Hawaiian fusion with a twist of LatinX I do say! Highly recommend you call them for location info or use this App ... https://streetfoodapp.com/vancouver You can thank me via gift cards! You're welcome!

Put this on your must try food truck list. Not joking here! Simply good cookery, fully flavour…read moreprofiles and seasoned perfectly. Everything we got was superb. The Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp Fries was one of a kind. The sweet and tangy sauce was actually a very interesting and nice pairing to the fries. The shrimp was bouncy and not overcooked. The Mango Chicken Hero had very snappy and juicy sausage, and the tropical element was a great touch. The hot dog bun had tremendous flavour as well. Very satisfied! The Quesa Birria Tacos was the best thing of the bunch. A MUST try item! Juicy meat fillings with all the fixings, the fresh tortilla was pan fried nicely so it had nice crispness, and the secret weapon, a hearty meat jus, elevated this dish to another level. The Japanese Popcorn Chicken had a lovely crunch in the coating and seasoned so well. A really wonderful meal!
