Very disappointed with my meal tonight. I got C13, which of course had "fried" rice. There was nothing fried about it. It was regular rice with something redfish color and sweet mixed in it. Hands down the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Rice was dry and Hawaiian Chicken? Chicken chunks covered is some slimey brown sauce, with unidentifiable taste. Other than bad taste. Wonton soup was just flavorless water. Do yourself a favor a favor, and just... don't. read more

I ordered the boneless spareribs and waited over 17 minutes for the order to be ready. (I was their only customer at lunchtime) The ribs were horrible and not at all what I expected. They were brown, not pink and tough as shoe leather. Could not even chew them. Do not bother going there. read more

Food is pretty mediocre but they give you plenty for the price if you order off the lunch menu. Staff is pleasant. They only give you one tiny container of duck sauce, and additional tiny containers are .75 cents each. I've never eaten in, and can't imagine ever wanting to. read more

It definitely could have been better. I liked my shrimp fried rice but not enough that I would get it again. My husband ordered Mongolian beef which was supposed to be hot & spicy. It was so not spicy that he thought he got the wrong thing, but the woman working there assured us it was the Mongolian beef. We wouldn't go back. read more

The young lady who takes your irder is extremely nice. I have eaten their food several times and the quality is inconsistent. Tonight I paid close to $20 for reheated food. Absolutely horrible. Worst customer service ever. Lady yelled at me because her workers in the back "didn't know how to speak English and read the online ticket order." ( her words not mine!) It's not the customers fault they don't know how to use the online service program, they sent me a text saying it was ready and then made me wait an additional 30 minutes after trying to yell at me in the store in front of other customers. I really like Lucky Star. The first time we ordered there we got delivery and it was delicious, arrived super fast, and was a good price for the amount we got. Recently however, I tried to order there from their menu online that STILL SAYS they deliver, and the woman who answered just kept repeating that they don't deliver and when I tried to mention their online menu that conflicts with that she just kept repeating "We don't deliver at this time." There was no attempt to explain or to provide any type of customer service. I will probably not attempt to get food from here again due to their "customer service". read more

I was looking for a Thai place for lunch on the way back to Boston from Maine, but this was pretty much the only Asian option. They do have curries, but that's about all for Thai. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was... it's typical American Chinese, so healthy it ain't, but you know what you're getting into. Portion sizes were absolutely huge, even for the lunch special which you expect to be smaller. Minor down side... my eggdrop soup had huge chunks of egg in it, which didn't affect the taste but just looked weird. The biggest down side for me was ALL the styrofoam. We got hot tea and water in HUGE styrofoam cups... then styrofoam plates... then styrofoam takeout containers. I felt like I was single-handedly killing the environment just by having a single meal there. I know this place is relatively new, so my advice to you is to reduce your portion size and spend that extra money on using more environmentally friendly packaging. read more

Lucky Star used to be my families go to for local Chinese cuisine, far better than its competitor across the street. Not any more. I don't know what has changed, but both the Shrimp Pad Tai and the Orange Chicken we received were terrible! The Pad Tai was bland except for the strong vinegar taste, and was missing many of the ingredients that they used to use, such as peanuts, sprouts and most importantly, the Pad Tai sauce, to name a few. To top it off, the shrimp was tasteless and mushy. The orange chicken was just about inedible. The pieces of chicken were very tough and stringy with hard bits that were just about unchewable and the sauce had very little flavor. The only reason you might call it orange chicken is that it was colored orange and that they threw in a quarter slice of orange The portions were very lage, but unfortunately most of the meal will be going in the garbage because no one in my family has any interest in eating the leftovers. Not only was the food bad, they jacked up their prices by about 40%. Needless to say, we will not be using Lucky Star any more to satisfy our Chinese food cravings. If I could give a zero I would. This place is Terrible. They use frozen, antibiotic slimy chicken and simply throw jarred sweet n sour syrup over there entrees. We ordered Kung Pao chicken and Hunan chicken, they were prepared exactly the same, WTF. Before that, we got there to pick up take and they gave it away to "someone" else by accident. We decided to get food delivered from Lucky Star on Saturday 2/17/18. I had a very very easy time ordering our meals, our food was delivered very quickly, despite seeing a review for a day earlier that said there was a long wait. The portions were INCREDIBLY generous and the food was great. I got a dinner combo and an order of crab rangoons. I got so much food that it'll last me at least three meals. I usually order Orange Chicken at many Chinese restaurants, but this sauce was by far my favorite I've had. If you love crab rangoons, this is the place to get them. They were crisp, not greasy, and filled with a lot. Overall, very satisfied with my first Lucky Star experience and I will continue to go back! read more

We live in town and have been getting takeout since they opened. At first, it was great. Rivaled any NY area Chinese. But it's gone down hill since. We stopped ordering this winter because the food was consistently bland. Tonight, we gave it another try. Bad choice. The fried rice looked and tasted like white rice with a sprinkle of soy sauce. Zero flavor and not fried at all. Essentially, really expensive white rice. All in all, the quality and taste of food has declined to an unacceptable level. This is an instant favorite!! I've never had a Chinese food experience like this. I could taste the flavors of all the dishes I ordered and the portion sizes are HUGE! This place does not skimp out on quality. If you're considering trying this place out, you've got to go! The host was incredibly sweet and the service was FAST. I do not recommend this restaurant. On 2/16/18 the order took 45 minutes, when I was told 20 minutes at 5:08 pm. If I'd known I would have used my time better than standing and waiting... There was shrimp in the lo mein even after explaining I am allergic to it, assured it wouldn't be in it, and it is stated XNo Shrimp on the receipt. The vegetable Pad Thai had chicken meat in it. While I and other customers were waiting, we listened to the staff yelling in the kitchen. And the food wasn't very good. I hope they improve. read more

I love Lucky Star! They make the best wonton soup in our area. The broth is fresh and mild and it complements the copious fresh vegetables perfectly. The huge wontons are made in house and are perfectly executed. One bowl of soup and an order of egg rolls make the perfect (large) dinner for under $10! Orders for take out are quick, fresh, and hot. Last night we ordered 2 spring rolls and shrimp pad Thai. First we ordered take out, the order was lost and had to be remade. Second, I couldn't get past the smell of the pad Thai. It was AWFUL. It was like no pad Thai I've ever experienced in my life. It was brown, maybe too much fish sauce, etc. I've NEVER seen anything like this before. I threw the whole thing out!!! I hate wasting food, we should have returned it, but at this point after having to order twice...in the trash it went. We will never NEVER order again!! read more
