We did an online order for pickup and never imagined the amount of food they packed into each box!! I am in love with their chicken fingers!! All of the food was so amazingly delicious, especially the pork fried rice!! You can't go wrong with the pork fried rice!! We ordered the basil beef combo and the garlic beef combo. Both also came with egg rolls and crab rangoons. It was so much food that we have another container full of food incl 1 eggroll for another meal. Not only was the food amazing, the staff was so incredibly nice and welcoming! If we lived here, we would definitely be coming back every month!! read more

Lucky Star Restaurant - Ordered 2 combo dinners and this was out haul!! - Chinese Near Me - Kennebunk, Maine

Very disappointed with my meal tonight. I got C13, which of course had "fried" rice. There was nothing fried about it. It was regular rice with something redfish color and sweet mixed in it. There chunks of pork thrown in. The rice was nothing like I have had before. It was sweetest tasting and not a good taste. You can see in the picture that it is not fried rice. read more

Lucky Star Restaurant - Fake fried rice. Nothing dried about it. Just rice with something redfish color sauce - Chinese Near Me - Kennebunk, Maine

Hands down the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Rice was dry and Hawaiian Chicken? Chicken chunks covered is some slimey brown sauce, with unidentifiable taste. Other than bad taste. Wonton soup was just flavorless water. Do yourself a favor a favor, and just... don't. read more

I ordered the boneless spareribs and waited over 17 minutes for the order to be ready. (I was their only customer at lunchtime) The ribs were horrible and not at all what I expected. They were brown, not pink and tough as shoe leather. Could not even chew them. Do not bother going there. read more

Food is pretty mediocre but they give you plenty for the price if you order off the lunch menu. Staff is pleasant. They only give you one tiny container of duck sauce, and additional tiny containers are .75 cents each. I've never eaten in, and can't imagine ever wanting to. read more

See all

It definitely could have been better. I liked my shrimp fried rice but not enough that I would get it again. My husband ordered Mongolian beef which was supposed to be hot & spicy. It was so not spicy that he thought he got the wrong thing, but the woman working there assured us it was the Mongolian beef. We wouldn't go back. read more

Easy to order online! Some of the best tasting Chinese food I've had in so long. Cooked well, good portions and still hot after the drive home. The Proprietor was very pleasant. I will visit again! Nice clean restaurant. read more

The young lady who takes your irder is extremely nice. I have eaten their food several times and the quality is inconsistent. Tonight I paid close to $20 for reheated food. Absolutely horrible. I could not eat it. I called to express my disappointment. My money was refunded without question. That scored big for me. read more

Food was very good and large portions. Ordered food for dining in and was brought to table Suggest using silverware as opposed to plastic and only a few tables read more

The food is good and the owner is always pleasant, I would recommend to anyone looking for Chinese fast food

Great food and the people are the friendliest. We love every meal we have gotten there. Special acclaims for the Hawaiian Fried Rice.

Worst customer service ever. Lady yelled at me because her workers in the back "didn't know how to speak English and read the online ticket order." ( her words not mine!) It's not the customers fault they don't know how to use the online service program, they sent me a text saying it was ready and then made me wait an additional 30 minutes after trying to yell at me in the store in front of other customers. DONT GO HERE TERRIBLE!!!! read more

The chicken teriyaki is insane. Excellent food, and low prices. Best Chinese my husband and I have found in Maine!

The food here has gone downhill. Not sure if there is a new owner but when they first opened a few years ago the food was fine. The past two times my family has ordered from here the food has been tasteless and nearly inedible. read more

Little disappointed today. I called for the luncheon specials and was charged the regular price. The food was good but hope they are not taking advantage of customers who are buying. read more

I really like Lucky Star. The first time we ordered there we got delivery and it was delicious, arrived super fast, and was a good price for the amount we got. Recently however, I tried to order there from their menu online that STILL SAYS they deliver, and the woman who answered just kept repeating that they don't deliver and when I tried to mention their online menu that conflicts with that she just kept repeating "We don't deliver at this time." There was no attempt to explain or to provide any type of customer service. I will probably not attempt to get food from here again due to their "customer service". read more

I was looking for a Thai place for lunch on the way back to Boston from Maine, but this was pretty much the only Asian option. They do have curries, but that's about all for Thai. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was... it's typical American Chinese, so healthy it ain't, but you know what you're getting into. Portion sizes were absolutely huge, even for the lunch special which you expect to be smaller. Minor down side... my eggdrop soup had huge chunks of egg in it, which didn't affect the taste but just looked weird. The biggest down side for me was ALL the styrofoam. We got hot tea and water in HUGE styrofoam cups... then styrofoam plates... then styrofoam takeout containers. I felt like I was single-handedly killing the environment just by having a single meal there. I know this place is relatively new, so my advice to you is to reduce your portion size and spend that extra money on using more environmentally friendly packaging. read more

I was surprised because there was a different, very poor, restaurant in the same place before this one. I ordered appetizers and a couple of entrees not expecting anything special. But the food was very good. Appetizers were crisp and not too greasy, entrees were good. Maybe a little too much MSG. The lady who took the order was lovely and enjoyable to do business with. Would order again. read more

Ordered lo mein and fried rice to go. The lo-mein was excellent. They cooked it while I waited so it was very fresh. The rice onthe other hand tasted like it had been made the day before. It was dry and bland. read more

Lucky Star used to be my families go to for local Chinese cuisine, far better than its competitor across the street. Not any more. I don't know what has changed, but both the Shrimp Pad Tai and the Orange Chicken we received were terrible! The Pad Tai was bland except for the strong vinegar taste, and was missing many of the ingredients that they used to use, such as peanuts, sprouts and most importantly, the Pad Tai sauce, to name a few. To top it off, the shrimp was tasteless and mushy. The orange chicken was just about inedible. The pieces of chicken were very tough and stringy with hard bits that were just about unchewable and the sauce had very little flavor. The only reason you might call it orange chicken is that it was colored orange and that they threw in a quarter slice of orange The portions were very lage, but unfortunately most of the meal will be going in the garbage because no one in my family has any interest in eating the leftovers. Not only was the food bad, they jacked up their prices by about 40%. Needless to say, we will not be using Lucky Star any more to satisfy our Chinese food cravings. What an utter disappointment... read more

If I could give a zero I would. This place is Terrible. They use frozen, antibiotic slimy chicken and simply throw jarred sweet n sour syrup over there entrees. We ordered Kung Pao chicken and Hunan chicken, they were prepared exactly the same, WTF. Before that, we got there to pick up take and they gave it away to "someone" else by accident. Being from NYC, had ton of great Chinese so this was extremely disappointing and I feel food poisoning after one bite. read more

First time customer tonight. We had pad thai and mei fun take out. Both were very good. We will be regular customers. The place was very neat and clean. Counter lady was pleasant. Order was ready on time and still hot at home. Portion was well more than expected. read more

We decided to get food delivered from Lucky Star on Saturday 2/17/18. I had a very very easy time ordering our meals, our food was delivered very quickly, despite seeing a review for a day earlier that said there was a long wait. The portions were INCREDIBLY generous and the food was great. I got a dinner combo and an order of crab rangoons. I got so much food that it'll last me at least three meals. I usually order Orange Chicken at many Chinese restaurants, but this sauce was by far my favorite I've had. If you love crab rangoons, this is the place to get them. They were crisp, not greasy, and filled with a lot. Overall, very satisfied with my first Lucky Star experience and I will continue to go back! read more

We live in town and have been getting takeout since they opened. At first, it was great. Rivaled any NY area Chinese. But it's gone down hill since. We stopped ordering this winter because the food was consistently bland. Tonight, we gave it another try. Bad choice. The fried rice looked and tasted like white rice with a sprinkle of soy sauce. Zero flavor and not fried at all. Essentially, really expensive white rice. All in all, the quality and taste of food has declined to an unacceptable level. Looks like we'll have to go back to the guys across the street read more

This is an instant favorite!! I've never had a Chinese food experience like this. I could taste the flavors of all the dishes I ordered and the portion sizes are HUGE! This place does not skimp out on quality. If you're considering trying this place out, you've got to go! The host was incredibly sweet and the service was FAST. Most delicious Chinese/Thai takeout (or dine in) I've ever had. read more

I am a regular or should say was. The prices have gone up which I understand, I usually order the same thing everytime but now you have to also.pay for duck sauce and you only get one and one fortune cookie. Come on to treat a regular like that. Sorry but I won't be going back. read more

Everything tasted the same! Overcooked, bland, greasy. A big disappointment. Won't do it again!

LUCKY KENNEBUNKS If you have a chinese food itch to scratch this will work. This is an exciting addition to the lack of quality chinese food in the area. Ate here several times now an the food is really fresh. You see the difference in the increased activity here. There are now people eating inside, phone always ringing. Owners are obviously hard at work to make this happen. read more

We love this place, great food and good portions. We also enjoy the Thai selection when we want something a little different. Feels very safe for takeout during covid. read more

Got an order delivered to the hotel . The food was very good the was good and they were very quick . Will call again

I do not recommend this restaurant. On 2/16/18 the order took 45 minutes, when I was told 20 minutes at 5:08 pm. If I'd known I would have used my time better than standing and waiting... There was shrimp in the lo mein even after explaining I am allergic to it, assured it wouldn't be in it, and it is stated XNo Shrimp on the receipt. The vegetable Pad Thai had chicken meat in it. While I and other customers were waiting, we listened to the staff yelling in the kitchen. And the food wasn't very good. I hope they improve. read more

Really good take out. So much better than Mei Le Wah, and even has speedy delivery available. We got 5-6 different things and all were very good. Nice white meat chicken in the General Tsos instead of that mystery meat across the street. Definitely recommend! read more

We got take away from here last week. Portions were generous. The scallion pancakes, General Tsaos' chicken and chicken noodles were excellent. We were very pleased. read more

I love Lucky Star! They make the best wonton soup in our area. The broth is fresh and mild and it complements the copious fresh vegetables perfectly. The huge wontons are made in house and are perfectly executed. One bowl of soup and an order of egg rolls make the perfect (large) dinner for under $10! Orders for take out are quick, fresh, and hot. I've also ordered for delivery and the food arrived promptly and piping hot. Love having Lucky Star in Kennebunk and highly recommend! read more

Last night we ordered 2 spring rolls and shrimp pad Thai. First we ordered take out, the order was lost and had to be remade. Second, I couldn't get past the smell of the pad Thai. It was AWFUL. It was like no pad Thai I've ever experienced in my life. It was brown, maybe too much fish sauce, etc. I've NEVER seen anything like this before. I threw the whole thing out!!! I hate wasting food, we should have returned it, but at this point after having to order twice...in the trash it went. We will never NEVER order again!! read more

I've been to a lot of chinese/Thai restaurants and this places put quality, quantity and price all together. Great stuff! Thanks!
