The best Thai food around. The dumplings and chicken wings are exquisite. They added desserts to the menu are a perfect complement to a meal (try the mango and sticky rice). The new owner is so friendly and kind. She re-did the interior and menu which needed some updating. **Be leery of some of the overly negative, "I've lived here forever and will never come back blah blah blah" 1-star reviews. It is believed (and was proven) that many unscrupulous individuals partnered together to spread false information around the new owner, presumably from a competitor who was worried about losing sales. Don't worry, they are apparent when you read enough of them. It was like someone wrote 1 script and they all copied it. It says so much about their integrity and morals which clearly they don't possess. Do yourself a favor and eat at this gem. read more

Food is the best. Chefs, wait staff, and ambiance is perfect. I love going there to eat, however using DoorDash is easy to use and so convenient. My favorites are Druken Noodles with pork, Pad See Eew and Tom Yum Soup. Thanks to their staff for wanting my dining experience to be the best it can be. read more

We love this spot!! The food is always delicious and the prices are not outrageous. Giving it 4 stars because we tried to eat here one time in person and they sat us upstairs by ourselves and proceeded to kind of forget about us (our drinks took like 27 minutes). Ate at Kennebunk Mekhong Thai again and it was delicious as always! They have never disappointed. They food is always hot and fresh and delicious. I love spicy but my wife loves it mild. We tried two things we have never had before: the Crispy Birds Nest Noodles with Scallops and the Pad See Ew with Pork. Both were excellent and will be some of our favorites. Ezra was our waitress and was very attentive and sweet. Gabby was kind and helpful. Love eating here and need to do it nore often! read more

(I never give all 5 stars unless I am knocked over with blissful rapture.) This is a solid restaurant with non-greasy food priced reasonably and apparently made with care. I had the Hot Basil vegetable stirfry, which was a nice mix of flavor without being overdone. My partner had the pad see yew, which was not crazy greasy or heavy. The fresh roll was fresh and came with a light sauce (not the heavy peanut sauce that is more usual). Portions were just right. Friendly staff. Not crowded on a cold Tuesday night. Opted to come here because after the nonstop lobster banquets, a change was in order. Turned out to be an excellent choice. For appetizers, we had the crispy spring rolls and the chive dumplings. The crispy spring rolls were crisp and tasty without any burns, and the chive dumplings were a perfect herbal bite to whet the appetite. For entrees, we ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice, the Crispy Pad Thai, and the Crispy Duck. The crispy duck was the obvious star - seasoned perfectly, skin fell off the bone with a clear crunch, and it was all gone within a minute of arriving. The pineapple fried rice was a good follow-up - vegetables were cooked correctly, and the pineapple flavor was subtle and not overpowering. After that, the crispy pad thai was also excellent with just the right amount of crunch and salt, but we couldn't finish after the first two entrees and packed it up to take home. Would also recommend the homemade ginger beer - my stomach was feeling a little delicate, and the ginger beer calmed it down quite well. Not overly sweet, and generally very comforting. Ordered three of them. Staff was quick and solicitous, and very friendly. Good service all the way through, and each course came just as we finished the last. Have eaten here on several occasions.... We will not be returning. We both ordered House Specialties. One dish was literally floating in a heavy peanut sauce... The other dish was over sauced as well and both dishes tasted terrible. We also ordered Sapporo... they were less than 3/4 filled. You could see the waitress was uncomfortable not only serving our meal but our drinks as well. That the owner would let food of this incredibly poor quality leave his kitchen is beyond us ever considering to go back. Friends have also experienced a similar experience. Last night we dined on Mekhong Thai's deliciously prepared sumptuous dinners which included Tom Yum Soup, Tom Kai Gai Soup, Pad See Ewe, Drunken Noodles and Thai Fried Rice. Everything was outstanding! The wait while the kitchen was fully remodeled was hard, but worth it. The ambiance is delightfully Thai, the waitstaff friendly and the food is to die for. Had takeout of Tom Yum soup and Hot Basil stir fry at heat level 3. Both dishes too salty. Soup had a fair amount of thin-sliced mushrooms and halved cherry tomatoes in a really salty broth with no obvious lime notes. Two mushy shrimps that must have been previously frozen. Hot Basil, I expected Krapow style minced meat, but there were large strips of overcooked meat with overcooked string beans, peppers, and a little basil. First and last time I'll be ordering. I've been looking for good Thai in Kennebunk since moving here three years ago and so far Mee D Thai in Sanford is the best. Wish it were closer. read more

The salad was just your regular salad with some bean sprouts/other veggies. The peanut dressing was a hit, really recommend that if you're ordering a salad on the side. Tom Kha Gai soup was very flavorful, but was too sweet in my opinion, maybe a little too much coconut milk for my liking, but everything else was delicious about it. I am sure if I had gotten some chili paste on the side, or some type of hot sauce it would have been phenomenal. Will definitely return here to try one of the curry's. We have frequented the area multiple times over the years, and I must confess I am not a sea food lover... so I am definitely happy to have found this spot. read more

Food was terrible! We ordered the mixed apps for 2 people and some chicken pad Thai. The chicken and beef satay were entirely inedible. They must have been cooked for a week and practically broke in half they were so dried out. The fried rolls were filled only with cabbage, not even a hint of chicken in them. The chicken wings were also not edible as they had probably been cooked longer than the satay, if that is possible. The pad Thai was better, but it was almost solely noodles with two small pieces of chicken. For this we waited an hour! Skip this place! read more

While visiting some friends in the area, they brought us here, to their favorite restaurant, and I could see why. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was really good. I split the appetizer sampler and the massaum with my husband, and it was the perfect amount of food for the two of us. Out of the appetizers, I thought the crab rangoon was the best, but the spring roll and chicken skewer came in as a close second and third. The curry was also very good. It had a really nice flavor.
