So grateful for this restaurant!! When I miss chinese food and sushi, this is my go to spot! Sushi is always fresh. Great prices, especially during lunch. My order is always the 3 rolls for lunch with a clear soup. The rolls I love are the salmon, salmon avocado, Alaska, inari (sweet tofu skin), and sweet potato roll. I've also tried the specialty rolls like the sunkissed roll with baked seafood on top and mango madness roll. I like their basic rolls more. The sunkissed was an obsession for a bit but it was getting too salty. I love love love their chinese selections for my daughter. I always order the garlic beef which has broccoli carrots onions and garlic beef. The rice is always cooked to perfection. The kitchen has been quicker recently. Expect a 40 min wait if you order during dinner time, it's totally normal. They get in a lot of orders! Just call in ahead of time. The hostess was very nice! Kirin is a go to when I want Asian food while working in Waterboro. Service is fast and I like that o an order right from my phone. Luncheon dishes are moderately priced and plentiful. My only gripe is their tom yum. It's more tomato tasting than what I expect. read more

We went to Kirin a few days ago for the first time and really liked it there. It's clean and the food was really good. We'll will be going back because the place we have been going to for Chinese food always seems too salty for me. I'm so glad to be able to taste the flavors of the food on my plate without coming away with a burning tongue from "sodium overload". They have changed their tempura recipe so that it is now just breaded, fried vegetables, not the crispy batter coated dish I expected. Not tempura, in other words. Very disappointing. The food is always ready quick, even during the evening rush and their online ordering is super convenient. Their sushi is fantastic, the fish is fresh and delicious and their hot food is great too. The inside is small with less than 10 tables but it's primarily a take out spot as I've seen at most 3 tables occupied at a time all the times I've been in there. After seeing this rated highly on here within a pretty large area of central Maine and NH figured we'd try it. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is very clean, open kitchen and pretty small - no frills. Food was fresh and fantastic! As we sat there, an endless stream of people came in for take-out so clearly that's their focus. My only gripe about eating there were the small paper plates and plastic utensils they gave us (small fork and spoon, no knife). They also don't serve liquor. No Mai Tai for me. We will be back whenever we're in this neck of the woods (literally). Perhaps take out next time? Big fans of Chinese/Japanese food and this was as good as we get anywhere. read more

Brand new very casual place, off to a great start! We had a Classic Combo Sushi platter that came with Miso Soup and a small salad, Honey Garlic Chicken that came with broccoli and a choice of steamed or fried rice and two Spring Rolls, and a Vegetable Lo Mein. We got take out sushi (rolls), chicken and spring rolls from Kirin over the weekend for the first time and it did not disappoint! So excited we happened upon the reviews for this place on Yelp and gave it a shot as I'm not sure we would've stumbled across it otherwise. Just a quick drive from the Biddeford area to pick up the food, which was ideal - so convenient. Walked in to pick up the food: it was ready on time, the person helping me was friendly and the interior of the restaurant was very cute, modern, bright and clean. We had been looking for a "go-to" favorite sushi place for years after the previous one we loved closed and I am thrilled to say I think we've found it! All the food was cooked well and delicious but the sushi was especially stand out: huge pieces overflowing with all the good stuff. Definitely high quality.
